Teniyah M-Night 1

The name of the image is called Night 1 it was taken at six flags in Atlanta Georgia and it was taken with my iPhone X I added detail to the water and to the fog I also highlighted the lights to make it seem brighter and added a few on the side I think it could have been better if I added a filter to it.

Jackson C - Rollin'

The title of this image is “Rollin’”. This image was taken a few months ago on Highway 31 heading up the hill past Target at The Grove. This photo was taken with my iPhone. I edited this photo by blurring the background to make it look like the vehicle was going much faster than it actually was. The photo could be a little better if it was more crisp/clear.

Jackson C - Stack

The title of this image is “Stack”. It was taken in the Target parking lot during the late hours of the night. This photo was taken with my iPhone. I edited this photo by cropping it to better fit all three vehicles in the picture but also make sure the Jeep on the far left is made the subject. I also made the whole photo black and white except for the headlights on the Jeep on the far left. I also changed the color of said headlights. This picture could be much better if it wasn’t so blurry. I feel that that’s the only thing that could be better.

Hailey D- Homecoming

This was taken in my room on an old curtain on November 14, 2021. I took this picture on my iphone and edited the picture by focusing on the homecoming corsage, flower, and bow tie. I could make this picture better by brightening the bow tie and the green flower.

Isaiah M- Stuffed Animals

I took this image at my house on my dresser with stuffed animals. I took the image with my phone. I made it dark and turn the saturation up to make it green and made it darker.

Sidney A- Focus on Photography

The title of the selected image is Focus on Photography. It was taken November 12 in my photography class. It was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T6. I am not sure how it could have been edited better. I only edited the color of the image by changing it to Black & White.

Trevor P- The Wild West

This image is called The Wild West and it was taken with my Nikon D 5500, this picture shows a close up of my Lucchese caiman boots. This was taken in my backyard and I had the boot placed down on a tree stump and I was laying in the grass to get a close up shot of it. I used the touchup tool in photoshop to clean up little marks and I used the burn tool to make the black steaks in the leather to appear darker as well with the shadows. I also used the dodge tool to make the light reflecting off the boot brighter. I honestly really like how this picture came out. If I could change anything I would say get more of the boot showing.

Aidan P- Distilled Water

This picture is called Distilled Water and it was taken in my garage about a week ago for the still life assignment. It was taken with my phone and I edited it by just editing the light to make it brighter and I cropped it some. I admit this was just a sort of test image and not a favorite. I could have done a better angle and made it a close-up with the background completely gone and just the water showing. The water does look cool but it is pretty sloppy. I wish now I would have either made it look tall or just taken away the background and looked inside the water bottle for people to guess what it is. One last thing is I wish I would have done some editing with filters or color but I think blurring the background saved it enough for me not to delete it.

Mary Mason P- America

I titled this image America. It was taken at my house up stairs at like 4 pm. I took it with my iphone 12. I added color to it. So you could see the top of the flag a little better. I could have been better if I moved the pillows out of the way. That is why I did an American flag because I'm very patriotic.

Sydney R - The Moon and the Stars

This image is called, “The Moon and the Stars.” I took it about a few weeks ago outside when I was walking around my neighborhood. I used my Nikon D3500 to take this picture. To edit I first increased the contrast of the moon so that it is easier to see the craters. Then I ran the photo through the Nik collection in order to make it that cool blue color. I added stars next by getting a scattered paint brush and brushing the white all over. And Finally I adjusted the opacity of the stars and changed the blend mode.

Olivia R - Yoshi

This photo is named “Yoshi”. This is my blood parrot cichlid, Yoshi. I took this photo in my room sometime in late August/early September. Yoshi is a really interesting fish, and the process to get this photo actually took much longer than you would think, because Yoshi is afraid of forgein objects. I had to introduce her to my camera several times before I was actually able to get a good photo. It was taken on my Nikon D3300 and I did most of my editing in photoshop. I started by increasing the brightness and contrast and then I did lots of small things to make her pop. I used the sponge tool to highlight some of her more colorful features. I also used the color replacement tool to make the water more blue. This was very difficult because I had to make sure that Yoshi was still orange. This means that I had to do a lot of work with a small eraser to remove the blue tint from the small lines that make up her fins, without removing too much of the blue in between as to keep the appearance that they are translucent, but still there. I think this photo would be better if I could have gotten some of her plants in the shot rather than her eyesore of a heater. I had a lot of fun both taking and editing this photo.

Santo F- Bottles

I took this picture 2 months ago at the restaurant where I work just leaving work I edited it on my phone

Ashley P- Purple Waves.

This picture was taken in Florida a couple of summers ago this picture was taken with an iphone and I think I couldve taken this picture better by taking it where the rocks are not in the sand and just makes it lose focus I think.

Raven L- Leafff

This image is titled Leafff, I look it on a camping trip at the beginning of november. I used my Canon eos rebel T2i but ended up lowering the brightness and increasing the sharpness just a little bit to intensify the definition of the leaf.

Caeden H- Black and White

I took this image on November 2nd in the digital photography studio. I took this picture using my Canon Rebel XSi. I edited this picture both in the Photos app and in photoshop. Using the Photos app I increased the lighting, added a black and white filter, and increased the contrast. I then used the dodge and burn tool in photoshop to add some more contrast and make the image more defined. I think this photo could have been better if the words were more in focus.

Tyrick H- Loki

The image I chose is a picture of my dog loki. I chose this image because out of all the recent pictures I have taken, it might be my best one. I named this picture Loki because that is the name of my dog. I took this picture in the middle of the day in my kitchen. I like this picture a lot because the lighting is very good and just goes really well with the picture. I used my iphone 11 pro to take this picture. I didn’t really edit much of this picture except I really just cropped out some extra stuff and maybe added a little blur to the background of the image. To make this picture better i could have maybe done a little bit more editing to make it look even better.

Marshall H - Sunny Days

The title of this image is, “Sunny Days.” This was taken a few weeks ago when I went to visit my family. I took this picture with my Canon PowerShot SX540 HS. For this one, I added focus onto my dog and blurred the background. I felt it made her pop out more. I really feel that the image seems slightly blurry, and I wish it was more in focus. My dogs’ name is Penelope.

Nora G- Bridge

This is a picture of one of the bridges at Ross Bridge park. I took this picture with my canon camera. I edited it by bringing out some of the colors and I changed the saturation as well. I also made the outside of the image darker than the middle. I really like this but it could be better if there was something more to focus on and if the green leaves or pines that are in the middle of the bridge were moved because I think it's kind of out of place.

Jennifer G- Mexico in December

This photo was taken when I went to Mexico in December. That place is where my family puts the animals to keep the animals safe that they can get out and escape. The photo was edited with my phone. I like to edit my photos on instagram. The photo could be better if I edit it with a professional camera using photoshop.

Courtni D- Fall Time

The name of this photo is Fall Time because it looks like and reminds me of fall. This photo was taken outside of my apartment complex on September 28, 2021. It was taken with my canon EOS. To edit this photo all I did was adjust the brilliance, exposure, and contrast. I think the photo could be better if it had a specific subject.

Connor G- Orange Sky

The title of this image is “Orange Sky” for obvious reasons. I took this picture while at work one afternoon. I work at a gold course so the views when the sunsets can be really nice. I took this with my phone since I didn’t have my camera on me because, well, I was working. I didn’t really edit it too much, just touched up a few stray spots I thought looked out of place. I think this could have been better if I had had my camera with me and had time to really take it as I wanted.

Brooke J- Lets Go 4

The title of this image is Let’s Go. I took this picture in my driveway on October 3rd around sunset. I took this picture with a Canon EOS digital rebel xs. I made the colors more vibrant by adjusting the color balance. I brightened the image and messed with the filters. I think it could have been better if I moved the leaves out of the shot and cropped it better.

Paris C- Mother Nature

This photo is named Mother Nature because of the leaves. It was taken outside of where I live at and under the trees. I made the outline of the leaves m0re visible and the outside less visible. It could be better by adding more light I think but I like it how it is.

Tyler G- Neon

This photo is named Neon. This photo was took during a concert at Sloss Furnaces on September 29th, 2021. I took this photo while everyone was around me jumping and running with my phone. I edited the contrast, lighting, and put a filter on it. It could’ve been better if I was using a better camera and was able to take my time with it.

Alex B- Bride and Groom

The name of this photo is “Bride and Groom” . This was taken on September 19th 2020, and was taken in front of a church that my sister in law's father owns. It was taken with my Canon EOS REBEL T3. I used photoshop, with doing that i upped some saturation in dark areas, took away red eye light, and cropped it. It could be better if it had been in a cleaner environment.

Bradley B- The Game

The title of this image is called: THE GAME It was taken back in September at the new Protective Stadium located in Birmingham.Alabama. It was taken with my iphone 11 camera. I really just adjusted the brightness. The picture didn’t need too much brightness because there was a lot of brightness happening at the time since the stadium was new with all the lights. So when it came down to editing this picture I really didn't have to do anything to the picture for real. I feel like there was nothing wrong with the picture. I feel like all the lights on the stadium caught the brightness of the picture.

Jonathan F - Darkness

The title of this image is named Darkness. I took this picture on September 21, 2021. It was taken on the top floor of the Redmont hotel. I took this picture with my iPhone 11. I edited this picture using instagram filters. I just chose a random filter to use. I can't remember the name of the filter I used, it just turned the picture brighter. I think I could have done better by actually editing the picture manually and not using any type of filter.

Alexia T - Past

I took this picture in the studio at school during my eighth period class on Friday, November 5th 2021. I named it “Past” because the pieces shown are a direct link to my old life and my position with my old school/program. To edit this photo first I auto adjusted then I slightly adjusted the curve to darken the tones. This picture may have been better if the ribbons weren't as worn and the team pins were polished.

Janae J- Candy Apple

The title of the picture is “Candy Apple”. I took this picture on November 1st in the studio. I took several shots of this subject with various lights and from various different angles. It was taken with a Canon t-6. I edited this picture by dodging and burning the light and dark areas of this picture. This photo would be better if the background was a little more consistent, but overall I really like the outcome of this picture.

Jack L-Clear Roads

The  title of my image is clear roads. This picture was taken the day of the volleyball tournament in huntsville. The picture was taken on the way home in Hartselle. It was taken with my Iphone 12. I edited by bringing the saturation, vibrance, bringing the warmth down, sharpness up and the noise reduction up. It could be better if it was taken inside of a car with a windshield in the way.

Ayla S- Twix

This image is titled “Twix”. This was taken November 2nd outside of my house. I placed the twix bars on a piece of construction paper in my backyard. I took it with my Canon Rebel T6. To edit this photo, I healed a few distracting elements in the background, and used a filter to manipulate the image. It could be a little better if the colors of the neon outline reflected the true colors of the twix bars.

Yori D- Blue Skies

The name of this photo is called Blue Skies. I don’t remember when I took this picture, but I took it outside of pet smart. It was taken with my iPhone 11 and I edited it by darkening the whole photo, but I really didn’t do much to it.

Brandon B- Operation Amber Sky

This photo’s title is Operation Amber Sky.  It was taken during the Auburn vs Georgia game this year on October 9th, during the pregame flyover, and the helicopter flying directly over my section happened to be a Chinook helicopter.  The photo was taken in daylight, but since it was at an Auburn game I decide to make the sky an amber/orange color. The photo was taken with my iPhone 13 Pro.  I edited this with the color replacement tool for the sky and the burn tool for clouds or a smokey look.  For the final touch I used the dodge tool to brighten up some parts of the image.  I believe this photo could be better if I had used the zoom on my camera instead of just cropping it.

Caroline M- Fire

This picture (Fire) was taken September 25, 2021. At DeSoto state park, AL.  I used the Nikon D3300 and we bought a fire color and depending on the temperature of the fire the color would change. I made the vibrance stronger so you could really take in the beauty of the fire and we have blue LED’s on our camper so I toned them down because it was overpowering the fire.

Megan H-Day Car

The name of this image is Car, because this is a picture of my car. I took this image on September 4th, around 7 am. This image was taken with a Nikon camera. I added a black and white filter to this and lowered the exposure. Think I could have gotten a better angle on the car.

Maddie T- Holding On To You

The title of this image is “Holding on to you” and it is a still life picture of a necklace I have. It was taken in october of 2021 in my backyard. It was taken with a canon rebel t100 and edited in photoshop. I applied a black and white filter and brought the contrast up, as well as some dodging and burning. I think it could be better more focused. I love this picture because the phrase on the necklace is the name of my favorite song by twenty one pilots, the band that has had the most impact on

Madison S- Confused Bee

I took this picture in my front yard one day. I edited the color and cropped it.  It could be better if it was sharper.

Elizabeth C- Black and White

The title of this image is Black and White. This photo was taken on the stairs of my back porch in the middle of the day. This picture was taken with my digital camera. I edited this photo by increasing contrast and decreasing light. I then changed the photo to black and white. This photo would be better if all the words outside the lens were b;urred out.

Emily B - Mini Camp Fire

I named this photo Mini Camp Fire. I took the image with my Nikon DSLR camera on September 30, 2021 in my front yard. I re-touched the image so there wouldn’t be any weird shadows. I also increased the orange tint. I think the ground is a little distracting because some parts are blurry while other parts aren’t, so I could have fixed that to make it better.

Will B- Overflow

The title of this image is Overflow because of all of the dice pouring out of the bag. I took this picture during class with the Canon EOS Rebel T6 in the studio on November 5. I retouched a few places, but for the most part this image is unedited except for that and the added text. To improve the image, I could have tried to reduce the glare from the light on the one black die in the middle and maybe played with the image in photoshop a bit more. Overall I think it still looks great as is. I think the quote is really inspiring. As much as I love hanging out with my friends online, it is an entirely different experience to do something in person, and that's something that I’ve been lacking, especially since the pandemic hit. My hope moving forward is to start interacting with friends in person more often.

Hellen A- Pink Reflection

The name of the image is “Pink Reflection.” I took this picture in my front yard September 27, 2021 during the day. I used my Canon Rebel T7 to take this picture. I added a grey filter and made the pink stand out more. I also blurred the second rose so it can reflect the top one. I feel like I could’ve made the flower brighter so it can make the rose stand out more.

Britney P - Visible Web

This was a picture I submitted for the Night&Day Assignment. It’s called “Visible Web.” This was taken on September 20 in front of my apartment. I edited this photo using the burn, dodge, and sponge tools in Photoshop. Originally, I was only planning on taking a photo of the tree, but then, I saw the spider web. I decided to take photos of the spider web instead because I thought it would be a more interesting subject. I also liked the glares that the light source produced. There are many things that could be better. For example, the editing of dark and light areas of the leaves could be much better. However, overall, I’m satisfied with this photo.

Akelsa N- Ship in March

This photo was taken at the ship in like March.  Taken with my canon t7. I just adjusted the color.

It could be less blurry

Jackson B - View From The tracks

The title of this image is The View From The Tracks. This was taken from the train tracks near my house. It was taken on my Canon EOS 6D. I edited this picture by cropping down the frame and darkening the foreground. I think this picture could be better. I had done a better job focusing the camera.

Madilyn B- In The Race

This image is called In The Race. It was taken at Helena Hollows on October 2, 2021. I took this photo with a Nikon D40. I adjusted the definition, sharpness, and vignette of this image. This image could be sharper and cropped more in order to focus the image on the child.

Grace A- Notebook

This photograph is titled Notebook. It was taken on November 4th, 2021, and the scene was set up in my living room. This was taken with a Nikon D50. I edited the photo by playing around with the dodge and burn tool, darkening the shadows on the map and other areas, and lightening the lamp, tassels, and parts of the flowers. I added a filter too, for a vintage look. I wish that I could have made some of the shadows not so dark, so the details could still be visible. Adding a few scratches and dust would have been cool too, contributing to the old look I was going for.

Adam T- Bright Highlights

The title of my image is called “Bright Highlights.” It was taken in the studio behind the classroom and it was during our current assignment, still life. This was one of my narrative pictures and it was taken with a Canon Rebel T-6. I edited the definition and the color just a tad to bump up the highlighter color in the book. I feel like it could be better if I were to make it less funky looking and more to its original photo that was taken before I shifted the color but overall, I really like the vibe the colors give.

Martha Claire D- Forgotten

The title for my selected image is “Forgotten”. This photo was taken in the Preserve on September 25, 2021. It's a photo of a fallen tree in a rather untraveled part of Moss Rock. My friend was off trying to climb a tree… and failing, while I was admiring the growth on this fallen tree. It was taken with my Nikon D5100 camera. It was edited by increasing the saturation, definition, and contrast of the image. I wish that I had been able to sharpen certain parts of the image in order to s

Alexia T- Backyard Drop

This image was taken in my backyard on September 28,2021 on my iphone 6. To edit, I set the exposure to -0.16, the offset to 0.0816, and the gamma correction to 0.5. The sun was my light source for this picture. The picture was originally taken for the night and day assignment and it's labeled “2” because it was edited second. This night and day led me to realize that natural lighting (from the sun) is pretty and looks better than artificial light, especially when edited.

Ani W- Black&White

The title of this picture is called Black and White because I used this for a Still Life assignment. I took this photo in my room with my Canon EOS Rebel T7 camera on Oct. 27th this year. I edited this photo by adding a monochrome filter and adding a blur effect. I could have edited this differently by un-cropping the photo to where you can see his whole body in frame and also enhancing the lighting in front of him. But I think the black and white filter really made all the shadows stand out, and like how the light is positioned behind him.
