Emily R- Dark Thoughts

The title of this picture is Dark Thoughts. I was taken here at Hoover about a week ago. It was taken with my iPhone 7+. All I did to this picture was darken it a little, and turn the color up slightly. I could be better if she had a different outfit on to change the vibe of this picture.

Jahred T - Born Games

This photo name is the “ Born Gamer”, it was taken in my room and I don’t remember the date. The photo was taken with my cellphone and it was edited with only the brightness. It could be better if I put more time into editing this one but I odin’t do much for it.

Will C- Under The Lights

The title of my image is Under the Lights, and I took this at school before a football game one Friday. I took this with my iPhone 5s. To edit it I put on a chrome filter and mainly just turned the highlights all the way down and sharpened the image a whole lot. I turned the cast way up to warm the image and with the white vignette this gave the image the pink glow it has around the edges. I also turned the white balance all the way over to the warmth side. Lastly I went in with retouch and took out a lot of scratches from the mirrored surface giving it a cleaner look. To make it better I could’ve done more editing to get the fingerprints off or to make them less noticeable.

Hayden H- Church

This is a picture of a wooden church. I took this picture in the dining room in my house on August 21st. The picture was shot on my Nikon D7100 with a shutter speed of 1/125 with an aperture of f/4.8, ISO at 1250, and shot with a 50mm lens. This picture describes my love for my church and my love for God. I go to Hunter street Baptist Church in Hoover Alabama and This picture is meant to represent it. I decided to bump up the clarity, darken the photo, adjust the levels, and add a black and white filter to it.

Kevin C- Down the Rainy Road

The title I give this photo is Down the Rainy Road. This was taken while I was in the car when it was raining and it was taken on march 27,2016, This photo was taken with an iPhone 6 and the way I edited was I made the light low and put a filter with it. This photo could be better if it didn’t have to much rain drops on the mirror.

Jasmine W- Flowers

There title is “Flowers”. They were taken at the side of my driveway on September 26, 2017. It was taken with my Canon PowerShot SX530 HS. I edited it on Photoshop using the sharpen, crop, blur, and curve tool to edit my picture. I think my picture could’ve been taken at a better angle.

Lauren T.- California Flower Vibes

The title of this image is, “California Flower Vibes”. It was taken on Saturday, September 23rd by my garage door at my house. It was taken with my mom’s Cannon camera. I edited it using photoshop. I added some color, light, and I also cropped it down a bit. It could have been better if I had the background be fully white instead of just a garage door. I have always loved colors, and in this particular photograph I like how the green leaves and pink-red flowers look on the white background.

Maura P.- Today is a Good Day

It was taken in Nashville, TN in this cute little pie place that my family and I went to. It was taken with a Nikon COOLPIX L310 and I edited by sharpening the photo. It would be better if the photo was balanced and there wasn’t’t a candle on one side.

Kam W- Wall of Hats

The title of the photo is called Wall of Hats. It was taken at home at 8:03 am. I took this photo with my phone.Edit the photo by rotating the photos and increasing the contrast and more detail on the Mac. The photo could better if it was taken with a different camera

Presley G- Memories

I titled this picture Memories, this is a memorial plate on a big rock in the courtyard of my school. This describes me because the name on the memorial plate was a really close friend of mine and she meant a lot to me. I took this photo on a PENTAX K200D and I edited it on the “photos” app and I cropped it, added color to make the flower look brighter and darkening it.

Savannah G- Flower of the Night

This picture was taken on September 27 on a Wednesday night. It was taken in my back yard with patches of flowers. This was taken on my canon rebel t6. I didn’t edit this but if I were to I would, sharpen the edges of the petals and patch up little marks. This could be better maybe if I got the whole flower in the frame. This was taken at night with an app called color screen. The original color of the flower is a red kind of pink color.

Mariam T - Birmingham Zoo

This picture was taken at the Birmingham Zoo during the summer. It was taken with a Fujifilm camera. I edited it by slightly bumping up the color but I didn’t edit it too much because it was already bright. I think the picture could be better if there wasn’t too much green.

Lauren B- Dawn Breaks on Buccaneer Stadium

This was taken a few weeks ago from my parking spot at Hoover. I get here really early for 0 period and I love seeing the sunrise over our home stadium every morning so I decided to capture it with my iPhone 6. I edited this by bumping up the color, light and turning the highlights down. I also turned the saturation all the way up. I really liked the reflection/color in the windows of the stadium and I think the sun rise was perfect that day. I could have cut out a little more of the parking lot, maybe sharpened it just a little.

Esther K- Guest List

The title of this image is “Guest List”. This picture was taken at a wedding and it was taken on September 9,2017.  I took this image with my Nikon Coolpix l340. I enhanced the picture, I put the fade filter, I adjusted the light and color, I sharpened it, added definition and noise reduction. Then after I finished all of that I adjusted the strength, radius and softness. It could be better if you could read the writing on the book better or if the book was positioned differently.

Olivia H- Spirit

The title of this photo is “Spirit” and it was taken last Thursday at the Bumpus vs. Berry football game. This photo was taken with my Canon EOS 7D, and I edited it with the photos application. I decreased the brightness and increased the saturation. I also increased the vignette to darken the edges of the photo. I also increased the sharpness and definition and decreased the contrast. This photo could be better if the pom-poms and the main dancer were more in focus.

Diego M - Stussey 35

This photo was taken near the Rocky Ridge Soccer Fields at around 8:30.
I edited the background by removing some distractions. It could be better if we had more fill lighting.

Noah M- Graveyard

I took this photo in New Orleans, Louisiana on Semtember 2nd with my Canon sx720. Editing, I just darkened the sky a little bit in photoshop. It could be better if I had edited the lighting some in photos. I just thought it was a pretty cool picture!

Grace B- Rose

I named this Rose, The picture of this rose was taken in my front yard about mid day. I took this with my camera which is the canon rebel XSI.  I added more color and light to make the flower pop more. I also used the vignette edit on this image to really focus on the flower. Im sure there are many ways this could be better but I like the way it turned out a lot!

Carmen V- Beach Trip

At the beach during may in the summer. It was taken with my iPhone 5c. I adjusted the brightness a bit. It could be better if maybe I got more of the the water in clearly.

Danielle M - Cabinets

The title of this image is just “Cabinets”. It was taken in my grandparent’s house around Highway 280. It was taken with my Nikon D5100 and I edited it by adjusting the brightness, sharpness, and other things relating to colors such as the saturation. I like how it has a warm, grainy look, but wish that it had more of the subject in focus rather than have it be kind of soft. Overall, I like this image just because of the meaning it has to me.

Daniel L- RAW

The title name of the image is RAW. It was taken deep in Moss Rock near a waterfall around 3 in the afternoon and it was captured with a canon t6i. The original photo was really dar so I enhanced the brightness a little and the original photo also had a lot leaves on the rock the guy is sitting on so I erased those out of the image so people can focus on the guy. This picture would’ve been better if I can make the background pop out more so the viewers can see how nice nature looked.

Carson R - Tiny Dancer

This image is entitled “Dancing in the Dark”. It was taken in my backyard on the evening of September 27th. I took it with my Nikon d3400. I increased the brightness and decreased the highlights. I also increased the saturation and increased the definition and noise reduction. I increased the warmth of the temperature and upped the tint slightly. I think it would be better if the ballerina was more in focus and slightly lighter. I really love the way this image turned out.

Christian P - Sailing on the Big Lake

This image is titled ‘Sailing on the Big Lake” I took it while sailing on Lake Michigan in July of this past summer.  I just took this with the camera on my Samsung Galaxy S7, though I really wish I had a shot with my real camera.  When editing this I just used apple photos and added a decent amount of sharpening effect. To make all the edges on the boat stand out, as well as bumping up the saturation and contrast to make red of the rope and blues of the sail and water to standout a bit more and not seem so gray and dull.  I think if I had just happened to have a blue sky for the background it could have added a lot more color to the photo.  I also think the photo gets a bit grainy because it was taken with a phone and I think I downloaded it at some point which bumped down the quality.  I also think if I had backed up a bit more to get a slightly wider perspective and include more of the boat it could have improved the shot as well.  Other than that I’m pretty happy with how this photo turned out, especially for something I just shot quickly off the helm of the boat

Zach F - Demon

The title of this picture is “Demon” for obvious reasons. It was taken in my backyard on September 24, 2017. I edited the photo by inverting the color scheme and increasing the brightness contrast, exposure, and pushing the levels all the way to the edge. Honestly this photo could not have turned out better, at least for how I was going. The original picture is just my brother leaning against a tree in the middle of the afternoon with a dead expression on his face.

Betsy B- Swan

This is a picture of a swan I took when I went to the Birmingham Zoo a few weeks ago. I took the image with my phone which is a Galaxy Note 5. I cropped the image and also increased the contrast and the light. I feel like it could be better if I took the picture for a different angle.

Annapisa P.- Pupper

The title of my picture is Pupper, it was take at my house some time after I got home from school. It was taken with my Canon rebel t6. I edited this picture using photo editor. However this picture could have been better if my dog was able t stand still and not move so much.

Gracie C - Frog

The title of my picture is “Frog”. The picture was taken in my backyard on September 24. It was taken with my Canon TOS Rebel T5. I edited it by removing some of the glare from the lights with the patch tool on Photoshop and by brightening it. It could have been better if I had more lights and spread them out more in the background. The picture is of a frog statue that I took from my grandmother’s old house while she was moving. The light source is my set of bee string lights that my mom got for me.

Cami M- Over the Moutain

“ Over the Mountain” in this picture I have no idea where we are. The Track team traveled to California and this was taken on the way there. So I don’t really know which state we were over. This picture was take April 2, 2017. This was taken on my iPhone 6SE, the edits on this picture is I turn the bightness and maced out completely on the saturation. This picture could have been darkened just a little bit more, and just not be so bright.

Austin R - Cooch

The photo was taken at my house around May 2017
This is a picture of my friend Ashleigh’s eye
I took it with my phone and used the Photos app to edit it.
Less contrast would make the picture better.

Mollie E- "Thoughts"

I titled this image “Thoughts” because in this picture, my friend, Macy, appears as if she is thinking. It was taken in Bluff Park in late August. I took this picture with my Nikon d3400 camera. I used a fade filter on this image. To edit it further, I lowered a few of the light settings, as well as increased on some of them as well. I increased the saturation and decreased the color contrast and cast. I auto sharpened the image as well as increased the definition and noise reduction. I increased the strength of the vignette and broadened the radius and made it softer. Something that could have been better about this picture was if her shirt wasn’t so bright.

Emily R- Skyline Reflections

The title of this photo is Skyline Reflections, because I really like the colors of the sunset and you can see it in the river below. It was taken at Brookwood Village a few weekends ago. It was taken with my Sony Camera. I make it a little darker and turned the color up a little bit. It could be better if the red lights weren’t in it. I like how this picture turned out

Brady S - Long Back Road

The photo was taken of a long backroad headed toward Tuscaloosa, it was taken around 10-11 AM. It was taken with a canon digital rebel 2003. The brightness all around has been raised and the shadows and highlights have been lowered. If the photo was taken on the street rather than by the side I think it would look much better as it went down towards the horizon line.

Hannah J. -Flight

This image is called Flight. It was taken at the Birmingham LDS temple on August 25th with a Canon PowerShot. I used the chrome filter to enhance some of the colors. It could be better if the dead flower wasn’t there and if the background was different.

Jacob T- Red Sunset

This picture is called Red Sunset. I took this in Bluff Park at Tip Top Grill looking off the back side of the restaurant. This picture was taken with a Cannon EOS T6 rebel. I edited this picture by turning up the contrast, decreasing the black at the bottom, and increasing the color of the red sun. The image seems a blurry to me and I’m not sure if its because there was camera shake or if I didn’t give it enough time to focus before taking the picture.

Charis H- " Graceful"

This picture was taken in Bossier City, Louisiana during sunset in an overgrown field. I took this with Canon EOS Rebel. As far as the editing goes I increased the saturation, brilliance, exposure, decreased highlights, and increased brightness, contrast, and black point. I call this picture “Graceful”.

Macy M - A Moment in Time

This image is called “A Moment in Time”. This was taken in the evening at Living River, a retreat on the Cahaba. This a was taken with a Canon Rebel XS. On this image, I added the chrome filter, darkened the image, bumped up the saturation and contrast, sharpened the image, added a little definition, reduced the noise, and added a slight vignette. I wish the inner circles were a little more in focus, but besides that I like the image. If anyone wishes to recreate an image like this, with the colors in the lens, put a UV lens on the camera you are taking a picture of.

Ashley M- Ferris Wheel

I titled this Ferris Wheel. When I took this picture I was at the fair on the ferris wheel. Every year since I  was little when the Oak Mountain fair comes around I always go. It's a great place to spend time with family and friends and have a good time. I increased the brilliance. Lowered the shadows dow. And increased the brightness.

Alex H. - Waves

The title of this image is Waves. I took this in Santa Rosa Florida last month. I took this picture with my phone. I didn’t edit this picture because I thought it looked good by itself. This photo could be better if you could see more of the ocean.

Anna Kate L- Night Light

The title of this image is “Night Light”. This photograph was taken at my house on September 26th. I took this picture with a Nikon D3400 DSLR. I turned down the exposure, brilliance and took away some shadows. I gave this picture more highlight so that he light beam would show up. I think this picture could be better if it was less blurry and more clear. This picture reminds me that the good in life always outweighs the bad because the light is shining through the darkness. We should always shine and get through the dark times in our life.

Amber T- Double Pink Flower

The title of the image is Flowers. It was taken on Wednesday night on my front porch. It was taken with my Nikon D70. I edited it by cropping, adjusting colors, blurring the leaves in the back of the picture to take the focus to the flowers, and brightened the picture to bring out the pink color of the flowers. It could be better if I followed the rule of thirds more and put the flowers in one of the corners. The flower is a Dahlia flower.
