Jessica P- Emme

This picture is of one of our cats, Emme, while she was waiting at the door one morning.  The blue wall and white door were split behind her, so when I used the cut out filter in Photoshop it made the colors blend nicely over her face and the background.  I really like the way the filter worked out.

Katie W- Mirror Reflection Sunset

I took this picture when I was on my way home from the lake one day. I got in my car and looked in my side mirrors and I thought the reflection of the sunset looked pretty. I boosted the contrast, and I also played with the mid tones in the image

Emily A.- Reflection

This is a picture of a branch over the lake near the Hoover Library. I like this picture a lot because of the colors. I edited this picture by brightening the colors red and blue. I also cropped the picture close to the branch and the reflection.

Luiza L.- Backyard View

This picture was taken on January 8, 2013 in my backyard. I edited it by adjusting the curve, increasing the red and yellow hues, increasing the saturation, increasing the brightness, and cropping. It could be better if the picture was a little brighter, sharper, and the colors in the picture were richer.

Lakeshia B - My Cat

I took this  this picture of my cat when she was sleeping on my bed. I uesd the graphic pen on it and change the light. I also bosted the coloring so the purple would stand out and lowered the opacity. I like how this turned out because she has one eye open and her faces is the focus point.

Darien B- Jesse James

This picture is called "Jesse James". I took this picture a few weeks ago at a friends house of their nephew. I edited this picture by cropping it. I also increased the hue and then I used the plastic wrap filter. I like this picture because he kind of looks like a cartoon character.

Dkota W- Cloudy Sky

For this Photo Blog picture i chose a picture from the "Choice" assignment. I took this picture at the cabins in Tennessee. This day while staying at the cabins it was very cloudy and cold. I decided to take a picture of the sky because although its a cloudy day, it seemed like the perfect sky for a good image. When edited I lightened the image a bit and sharpened it as well. I didn't do much editing though because I liked how the picture looked once I took it.

Daniel L- Chevy Bel Air

I took this picture at the preserve after practice one day. The way i edited the picture was just to sharpen and enhance the picture and it accidentally looked the way it is. I liked it so i decided to keep it the way it is.

Madison P- Stuck In Time

This is a picture of a rose in my backyard that started to bloom when the weather got really warm, but when the weather got really cold again, it never opened. I like this picture because I was able to capture the rose in this stage. I used this picture for the pictorialist assignment and I really like how it turned out and how much it looks like a painting or drawing rather than a picture.

Landry T- Heaven

I took this picture on the way back from California. I loved the lighting of the sun and the clouds. It reminded me of a picture of heaven.

Katelyn H- Color

I took this picture in the courtyard during lunch. I did multiple squares and circles in her hair and saturated them all different colors. I also made sure that the colors weren't too harsh in her hair so I made sure to feather them best I could

David M- Gulf Sunrise

The title of this photo is Gulf Sunrise.  I took this photo over the summer down in Gulf Shores at around 7 in the morning.  I edited the photo by adjusting the levels to add more contrast and I took out a bird and some construction equipment by the palm trees.

Emily W- Bunches o Brushes

I took this picture during my Art 3 class. There's this drawer where all the younger art classes cram all the brushes, and I thought it looked really cool with all the colors everywhere. I adjusted the levels, brightness, and enhanced the colors.

Arisha L- Coke Factory

I took this picture at the Coke Factory over winter break. I made the red brighter so it would stand out more. I really like this picture because I love the way the red christmas tree made out of ornaments looks and the way the coke bottle looks

Blake E- Le Stone

No statement provided

Amelia S- Molly

This is Molly. She was my Christmas present this year. She is a german shepherd. I like this picture because it really shows her sweet personality. I wish I could have gotten a picture of her in action though.

Danae A - Soft

I took this picture for the choice assignment. I took it in my room, on a white blanket with my macro extension. I love macro photography, because I love the soft fade of everything but the front petals. In photoshop, I lightened the picture and added a black and white layer, but lowered the opacity so the soft pink came out slightly. This soft color coupled with the soft fade of the background is why the picture is titled Soft. The positioning of the flower was intentionally off to the left to draw focus to the petals and make the composition more interesting.

Ashley V- Katie

I choose this picture for the Photo Blog from our assignment Portraits, I like this picture because it gives a define look to Katie, I like the Detail of the picture but I wish that it wasn't so dark and less noisy of a picture. But overall I like it very much.

Cole G - Lightstreaks

I took this photo by using christmas lights and moving them around with an incredibly slow (5+ seconds) shutter speed, to create a long exposure effect. To edit the photo I adjusted the curves and added a warm photo filter to emphasize the glowing streaks of light.

Brianna B- Lightbulb

This is a picture of a lightbulb that I took a picture of. It barely edited it because I liked how the original photo was. I increased the darkness by a little and then I Balanced the contrast out. I like this picture a lot because of how the glow was created on its own.

Ashley C- Watch the Wind Blow By

I took this picture on the backroad to my church at what we call "the llama farm" because all of the llamas line up at the barbed wire fence.  I titled it "Watch the Wind Blow By" because the sheep just seems so chill, and it just reminds me to enjoy the simple things.  I really love the colors in this picture.  I edited it by using the sharpening tool.  I didn't want to take away from the original shot by over editing it.

Victoria D- Look What We've Done

I took this picture on Lake Smith. I love this picture because I feel it displays the polution side of the world on the left "the bad" and "the good" on the right what the world should be, its health. I sharpened this picture, enhanced, boozed saturation and color. Then blurred the edges to create this fantastic picture! The name of this picture is 'look what we've done." I love this picture and I hope you do to.

Danny J- Lamp

This picture of a glass lamp in my parents' room was taken on the Sunday before school got back. T edit it, I added a filter that I can't find even now and edited the color balance. My favorite thing about this picture is the chrome look to it. It looks like an expensive metal. I wish I could lighten the hood around it, as it takes away from the light balance.

Amber A- Jurassic Park Cutout

I took this picture when I went to Downtown Disney over winter break. This was part of their jurassic park restaurant. To edit this picture, I applied the cutout filter to give it this look. Additionally, I brightened and adjusted the contrast to make certain areas stand out.

Reed W- No Turns

I used the Markee tool and made selections all over the photo, increasing and decreasing the hue and saturation, and also adding texture. I like this picture because of the technique i used, and that it evolved from a plain black and white image.

Alexis M- Beats

"Beats" This picture was taken at Hoover High School in the digital photography room. It is the wireless beats and its case sitting on the desk. I edited this picture by desaturating the entire picture then went back and resaturated the red in the picture.

Andie C- Tower of Terror

I took this picture over Christmas break in Walt Disney World. This was one of mine and my cousin's favorite ride in Hollywood Studios. We managed to convince my six year old cousin to ride it, and she was terrified. But she enjoyed the ride part, just not the story of "The Twilight Zone".  It was so cloudy and rainy and cold that day. The sky was actually white, it kinda hurt your eyes to look at it too long. I edited it by changing the levels of just the sky, and it came out looking kind of creepy.

Alyssa Y-Rain

This picture was taken of our fire pit cover when it was raining outside. I edited the picture by making it a lot lighter and toying with the saturation and hue.

Hemin N.-Poker

The subject of the picture is the poker set.  The poker set includes chips of different color and playing cards. I took this picture at my house on January 14, 2013. I edited the picture by using auto color and changing the curve. I made the shadows darker to allow for the picture to have a deep and ominous tone. I took a picture of the playing cards because my cousin taught me how to play texas hold'em before he moved back to india. I see him every 3 to 4 years, so the poker set helps me remember all the good times that we have together whenever I go to india. Also, at almost all the parties I go to, playing poker is a great pass time. I really liked this assignment because I was able to take picture of the ingredients that make up my family's family.

Andrew L - Pictorialist Arch

This is a photo that I took on my trip to St. Louis for New Year's.  I took the picture for the choice assignment; however, we had just learned about pictorialist work, so I tried it out.  I really like how the picture ended up actually looking like a painting.  I added charcoal and other sketch filters that affected little details, such as the people at the bottom, that gave the photo an odd depressing mood.

Sarah P. - White Lights

I took this photo of the white lights that were on our Christmas tree. I really liked this image because Christmas is my favorite holiday. I like the detail in the light and how you can see the branches of the tree. To edit this picture, I just adjusted the levels and played wight he color balance.

Ashley P- Cake Balls

I took this picture one Saturday after I made over 80 cake balls just for fun. I like this picture because they all look very pretty meaning they look really yummy. To edit this picture all I did was enhance all the colors on the cake balls.

Rayna B- Melting Snow

This is a picture of my grandpas truck. This was taking in pennsylvania and on the window you can see where the snow is starting to melt. I really like this picture because I like how the colors look and how you can see the snow in the background.

Samantha D- Frog

I took this picture one day by my pool. ME and my friend saw a frog in the pool and i took a picture. I adjusted the hue and contrast and cropped the picture.

Alex E- Flower Petals

This is a picture that i took of a painting that i found. I liked the colors of the flowers so I saturated them a little and balanced them with a red tint. I also added a diferent texture to each flower in the picture. I thought it looked interesting!

Abhay T- Colonial Street

I really like this photo, because it almost looks like a painting and has a pictorial feel too it. I took this picture over winter break when my family visited Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. I took this photo of a street with many colonial shops, and at the end of the street was a building, which is where I took this photo. I edited this photo by altering the color balance and adding more yellow, thus making the picture warmer. I did this to add more of the historical, colonial aspect to the photograph. This photo could be better if the people in the composition were clearer. I also like that there is no particular subject in the photo, but maybe the photo could have been better if there was.

Mylie U- Purple Smile

This is a picture I took in engineering academy of my friend Aaron. I took this for the color assignment. I drew the smile on his hand and made him hold it up. I made a black and white layer and then colored the smile back. Then I turned down the opacity to give it a little color. Its my favorite because he is blurry and his hand is in focus.

Steven F- Lackadaisy

This picture was just like a random, but pretty cool shot while we were chilling out in the court yard. I really like the lackadaisy mood of this picture that the out of focus lens creates.

Mariah M- Maddie!

This is a picture of my baby sister Madison. We were out in our front yard one saturday morning and she was just being her happy self and so i decided to take pictures of her! for this picture all i did was enhance the color balance to make it the way it looks!(:

Reginald-K Blue sky

I took this picture in the backyard. This was also from last semester. What i did with this is sharpened the sky, and Ienhanced the blue color of it as well. The have also been enhanced in the photo as well

Matt A-Bad Season

This picture was taken at the Auburn vs Alabama A&M game. It was a very small crowd for a late season game. I took it on my phone, so it is not perfect quality. All I did to edit it was crop it.

Maia S- State 2012

I took this photo after state, we got the runner-up trophy, and this is all the seniors that ran at state posing with the trophy. All i did to this photo is crop it. I really like this photo because I am prod that we got a trophy at state.

Abbey W- Real or Fake

The title of this image is called "real or fake". I named it this because if you look into the glasses it looks like a drawing or cartoon and so does his hair. But his skin and facial features were not edited at all. I really like this image because you can see me taking the picture in the back ground. I edited this photo with a bunch of filters on photoshop!

Taylor S- Disney Life

This picture represents  my disney life. I go to disney all the time we go every year! We have so much disney stuff at my house and i'm going to disney during the summer and i'm so excited.

Ryan S- The Lonely Flower

I called this picture "The Lonely Flower."  This is my favorite photo because I liked how much the yellow on the flower popped out in the foreground.  The lighting was somewhat shady where I took the picture, so the yellow was not very bright to start off with.  That way when I took the picture, there were no bright spots I had to deal with.  I edited this photo by adjusting the levels, removing some flowers in the background using the clone stamp tool, and used the hue and saturation to boost the yellow in the flower.

Nick E- Fruits

I took this picture for the color assignment. The color I chose was red so I made the photo black and white and painted over the red fruits in black to highlight them. I then lowered the opacity of the surrounding fruits so they wouldn't completely lose color but would still highlight the red.

Mary L- Ann

I took this picture for the portrait project. I really like her pose and the way the lighting hit her face. I wish that it would of been less noisy, but overall I like it.

Madison V- Backyard Flower

This is a picture of a flower I took in my backyard.  I made the image black and white so I could paint the flower petals their original color, to enhance the photo.  I liked how this photo turned out because the flower is the only thing in focus.

Johannes S- Stadium

This is an image of the stadium at Hoover, so therefore it is called "Stadium". I took in the late afternoon after school. I did not edit the picture that much, but I did change some levels and added brightness. Furthermore, I also used the image for an assignment and I think that it is good for the photo blog.

Luiza L- Mirror Frame

The title of the picture I chose as my favorite is called Mirror Frame. I like this one the best because the tones of the picture are very yellow and warm, and it has a lot of texture. The composition and lighting add to the photograph because there are some shadows in the corner which provide more depth and darkness to contrast to the lightness of some parts of the picture.
