Maharai S- “Las Primas”

This photo is of my little sister and cousin, this was taken at my twin brothers birthday party at “Top Golf”. This picture was edited on Photoshop, the only thing that was done to this photo was, both the exposure and photo filter were increased just a small amount.

Madalyn M- House

This picture is called House. I took this for the architecture project. I took this with my iPhone 8. I edited this in photoshop. It could be better by getting more detail on the house.

Chris R- At Autobahn

I took this photo for a panorama and thought it looked good on its own. I took the photo with my iPhone 5s at autobahn.

Katie N- Ocean Eyes

I call this photo “Ocean Eyes”. I call it this because of the ocean on her hands ad she is looking through the camera. I took this with my Cannon Rebel T16. I edited it by, compositing 3 images together. I don’t know of anything I could do to make it better.

Morgan H - Reflections

This image is called Reflections, because I took it in front of the giant mirrors on the escalators at the Galleria. I took this picture with my phone. I think it could be better if there was more focus in general.

Jaylin R- Study Hard

This image was a great image that I enjoyed taking and I feel this in one of my good images even though the lighting is terrible.

Hannah R - Untitled

This picture was taken with my Nikon d3500 and I took it inside my house. I used it for the architecture assignment. I edited it by making the shadows of the light more contrasted and adding more of a warm tone. I like how the light peaks through the glass. I feel like I could have gotten a better angle, but overall I’m pretty happy with it.

Barrett S- 5.4 Triton

My photo is named “5.4 Triton” because that is my engine; (V8). I shot this picture in my driveway on a Sunday afternoon in my driveway while it was really sunny. I used a Nikon D50 Camera to take this picture and I edited it by just getting small scratches and blemishes out. I also cropped in on the truck more. I do not really think that this picture could be better.

Mitch J- Stop Sign

This a photo I took of a stop sign. It didn’t take a lot of editing but I like the way it came out.

Jennifer C- Bloody Sky

This picture is titled Bloody Sky. I took this picture downtown with my iPhone X. I edited this picture by using the Nik Collection, the Color Effect pro 4. I used the colors red and black to make it stand out.

Grace R- Staircase

This picture was taken of February 20, 2019 with my Panasonic DMC-FZ70. It was taken on a bright, overcast day, and it had just rained the night before. That way I was able to capture the reflections of the buildings under the staircase. This picture was taken on the top of a parking garage in downtown Birmingham. I edited it by cropping and using the NIK Collection Silver Efex filter. I like the reflections in the water and the contrast between the dark staircase and the sky. I would have liked to get more buildings in the background.

Hillary A- Stairway to Heaven

This is a picture from a very recent assignment, architecture. This is at Von Maur at the Galleria. It is the escalators. I really like the aesthetics of this picture.

Deebaj F- Panorama

I take this panorama last week for my Architecture Assignment. It was taken with my Camera, Canon EOS Rebel T6. I edit this on the photoshop by increasing brightness, contrast. I also crop this and use the clone tool to fixed some adjustments. I like how it’s turned out in the end.

Hudson C- Colors

This image is called Colors because of all the colors and the patterns on the wall behind me. This picture was taken in Nashville Tennessee last summer the day before I went to The Weeknd Concert. Me and my friends found this wall and started to take some pictures and this one just came out.

Colby H - New Years

This photo was taken at New Years of my two closest friends. Ive only done minor editing like bringing up the light a little bit.

David J- Stairway to Heaven

This image’s title is ‘Stairway to Heaven’. I named it this because it reminded the Led Zeppelin song. I changed the grass colors using the color effex in Nik collection. I got the halftone effect and border from chroma lab on my phone. I’m proud of how it turned out, but if I could change one thing, I would make the halftone effect less extreme.

Emily S- Happiest Place on Earth

I took this picture on my trip to Disney. We were in Disney for high school cheer nationals. I took this picture on my phone and edited it in the photos app. I love this picture for many reasons. It reminds me of all of the memories we made that trip, it reminds me of what its like to be a little kid. Disney is the place where no matter how old you are, the kid inside of you truly comes out.

Erika P- Rocky

The name of this photo is “Rocky” because it was taken inside of a cave in Rickwood Park. It was taken with my iPhone 7. I edited it by putting a brown filter on it and then decreased the exposure and saturation. I really like it because it looks like a phone background. One thing I dislike about it, however, is the quality, which you can tell was taken by a normal phone rather than a camera.

Jacob D- Abandoned

This photo was taken on February 20, 2019 using my Nikon Coolpix S3700. It was taken at the Pizitz food hall in an alleyway just behind it. It’s a panorama shot of an old abandoned building that was at the end of the alleyway. I thought it was really cool & would look great for a panorama shot. I used a lot of Nik Collection filters to get the desired look I have. Overall I really like this piece & probably wouldn’t change anything about it.

Megan C- Downtown Paradise

The title of the image is named Downtown Paradise. I named it this because the hearts remind me of a brighter future. I took it a few weeks ago in Downtown Birmingham with a Nikon D3400. I edited it by increasing the contrast and black point. It could be better if some of the hearts weren’t cut off from the picture but other than that I’m happy with the outcome of the image.

Jennifer L - Memphis

This picture was taken last year in Memphis, Tennessee at the very top of the Memphis Pyramid. It was taken with my Canon T5 Camera and I edited it by just adding a filter and lowering the brightness. It could be better if it had more color or if it was brighter but I like the way it came out.

Aundrea A - Glowing Church

The title of this Image is Glowing Church. I was taken downtown on February 19th. I was taken with my NIKON COOLPIX B500. I edited this picture by cropping it and then adding the Fresco filter and changing the brightness and contrast. It could be better if the lines were a little more clear.

Emilee G- City Life

This photo is entitled City Life. I took it downtown for an architecture assignment a few weeks ago. I edited this photo by turning up the contrast and using the Nik collection presets in photoshop. This best part about this image to me is how the ray of sun is a real focal point. I think it really makes this photo more dynamic.

Ashley D- Scorpio

This image entitled “Scorpio” was taken, while on a school trip, last year. I really love this image because it shows a beautiful mural dedicated to the star signs, which was painted on one of the ceilings we toured. I used Nik collection to give the picture some warmth and I am quite happy with how it turned out.

Natalie M - Rustic Bell

The title of this image is Rustic Bell. It was taken one day at the beginning of the school year at Bluff Park Elementary School. I took it with a Nikon D3000. I edited it by putting a filter on it using Nik Collection. I like the contrast and color tones and that is why I chose this image. I also chose it because I just think it is different than a lot of the stuff on this blog.

Alyshan A - Cup and Book Thing

This image is of a coffee mug that I use for holding my pens and pencils. I put a book next to it. I put the two objects by each other because I had to write an essay on the book. I think the coffee mug gives a really good context as to what is going on in the photo. It makes for a good still life photo I think.

Rachel G - Winter Architecture

The title of this image is “Winter Architecture.” It was taken in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in mid-February with my Fujifilm X100F. I edited the photo by using Nik Collection filters to make the photo look more vintage and frayed on the edges. It could be better if there were not any snow smudges on the car window, but overall I am happy with how it turned out because it has a New England architectural feel to it.

Ainsley M- Untitled

This picture doesn’t have a title. It was taken a few weeks ago at Sloss Furnace with a Nikon 3500. I edited it by increasing the contrast and adding more detail to the staircase. I also added light coming from the window to make the brightness on the window more natural. I feel like it could be better but I’m not sure what I would do differently.

Spencer B- Colors Beyond

I call this picture, colors beyond. It was taken around 3 months ago in the courtyard at hoover high. I took it with my cell phone I used the Nik collection to edit it. the colors could have been exposed more but other then that is a pretty great picture.

Alexis W- City Lights

The title of my image is City Lights. It was taken in St. Louis while I was on a airplane. It was taken on December 23, 2018. It was taken with my iPhone X. I didn’t edit the picture. It could have been better if it wasn’t so blurry.

Omar T- Feeling Himself

This Image I named “Feeling Himself” because the way he posed in this photo. This was taken at the bowling alley in Pelham AL. I shot this photo with my Canon Rebel T6 and I only cropped the image. Overall I think the photo looks good as it is.

Kelsey M- Formal

This image was taken at my house. I was taken with an iPhone. I love the way this image came out. This image is called Formal. The way I edited it was put in the black and white setting and then play around with the intensity settings.

Vladimir S- Arbol

This picture is called “Arbol” which means tree in Spanish. I took this photo when I went to the park on a sunny day. I really didn’t do anything to the pic because feel like the brightness is just right but I could be wrong.

Maharai S- Family

This picture is of my dad, mom, and baby sister, I took this with a cannon camera. This picture was taken in the afternoon while we walked in downtown Disney. This picture is not edit.

Ethan D- College Cards

Trevion C. - Sabin

The title of this image is called Sabin. This was taken across the street from Sabin School in Portland, OR around Christmas. For this image, I used the HDR Efex Pro 2 tool and made it into a kaleidoscope.

Skylar J - Old Time

This photo is called Old Time. I took this over Christmas Break in the Summit. I used the camera on my iPhone 7 to take it. I edited it by using the iPhoto editor and Photoshop. I put a filter on it and used a little contrast and I adjusted the brightness.

Rachel G - (Black &) White Christmas

This photo is called “(Black &) White Christmas.” It was taken on Christmas Morning in my living room. It was taken with my Fujifilm X100F. I edited the photo by using a film preset on my camera. It was monochrome green, which means that it was the black and white film but it picked specifically the green from the tree to darken. The photo could be better if the bottom of the tree was slightly more symmetrical, but overall I am happy with how it turned out.

Morgan H - Space Jamz

This image is of my friend Ky. I took this picture using Mr. Rigsby’s Canon (sorry I’m broke and I don’t know what kind of canon is is). The original image was too overexposed, so I turned it into a space/NASA edit to match Ky’s hoodie. :-)

Hillary A- The Flash

This is my friend Natalie. I did thin in like 5 minutes because I wanted to do another picture for the blog. Sorry if it looking a lil rufff. Pero like I think it looks cool with the red streaks in the background, thats why I named it the flash. Also because her picture is blurry and I looks like she traveled in like 0.1 seconds.

Rowen A. - The Ruler

I had taken it at school in a art class room. I had taken it with my 20 megapixel OnePlus 6T phone. The only filter that I used was the black and white and then I changed the shadows. I think it is perfect the way it is. When I look at the picture, I feel calm, and a bit depressed.

Katie N- Ross

I call this photo “Ross”. I call it this because this is my cousins rabbit that’s name is Ross. I really like this picture because it is very close up and shows a lot of detail, especilly in Ross’s fur. I took this with my Canon EOS Rebel T6. I edited this picture by adding warmth and saturation to the photo. I hope you like it!!

Deebaj F- Close Up

This picture was taken a month ago at my home. I take this photo with my Camera, Canon EOS Rebel T6. I edit this photo on the photoshop by increasing saturation and contrast and decreases some brightness. I actually take this photo for the still life “close up” assignment. I like how its’s turned out in the end.

Jacob D - The Saiyan Prince

My photo is a close up shot of a statue I own of the Dragon Ball Z character, Vegeta. The photo was taken in my room in a mini set up I made for taking shots for the still life assignment. I’m a huge fan of Dragon Ball and I thought it would be interesting to take photos of this statue for the still life assignment. I played with a lot of lighting and angles before I got this shot. I used a lot of the Nik Collection filters to get this intense look. I also had to play with the contrast, structure, and sharpness of it to get the desired look. I’d like to make it a little less grainy if I could edit it some more. Other than that this is one of my favorite shots I’ve taken this year.

Donny L- What Skaters Dream

This is a symbol of what skaters dream of doing and that is setting their board on fire with tough tricks.I basically edited it by darkening the image behind the skateboard and using curves to make the flames look hotter.
