Betsey S- Georgia

I titled this image Georgia because I took it in Georgia while I stayed there over the summer. It was taken with my canon Rebel T6 that was the camera I had on me while walking around downtown Savannah. I Brought out the highlights and lightened up the shadows. I feel like it might be too bright and I would like to use the dodge and burn tool on it to see how it will look.

Raven L- Glowskull

The title of this image is Glowskull and it was taken in my room during our night and day assignment. I used my Canon eos rebel T2i but ended up brightening the image a bit and sharpening it to create the contrast between the colors and the skull greater. I wish the splatter of the glowstick liquid was more in focus.

Yori D - Ginkgo

The name of this image is called Ginkgo. It was taken at school outside in the courtyard. I edited it by making it a little darker than it was, but I also made sure to make it light so you can see the photo clear and my light source was the sun. I honestly don’t think anything needs to be changed I like it just the way I edited it. My overall experience with this assignment was good but it was hard trying to take pictures in the dark.

Joseph R-Walk

I named this photo Walk. It was taken on October 6th on the road to an abandoned building in Chelsea, Alabama. I took it with a Canon PowerShot SX500. I increased the brightness and contrast, and adjusted the colors for a greener tint. The only light source was the sun coming through the clouds. I should have used a lower ISO to make it less grainy, and made sure everything was in focus first.

Adam T Speedometer

The title of my image is called “Speedometer.” It was taken around a couple weeks ago during our “Night and Day” assignment while I was in my car during the night. It was taken with my Canon camera and I edited it by increasing the color and decreasing the lighting to make the speedometer more visually appealing. I feel like the picture could be better if I increased the definition a bit which would bring out the numbers on the dashboard a bit more.

Hellen A- Red Flower

The title of this image is “Red Flower.” I took this photo for my night and day assignment, a couple of weeks ago. This flower is located in my front yard. I took this photo with my Canon Rebel T7. I made the photo brighter and I also Increased the exposure to make the flower sharper. I also added an orange filter to make the photo warmer. I feel like I should've taken more angles of the flower and maybe adjusted the lighting, so the original photo wasn't so dark.

Will B - Candle Cat

I took this picture at my front porch on October 3, 2021 around 9pm. I raised the total brightness and increased saturation of some areas with the sponge tool as well as some minor spot cleaning. The image itself could have been a bit sharper, and I should have spent more time adjusting the camera settings to adjust for the dark scenario. It was really fun to play with the lighting and see how shutter speed, ISO and Aperture changed the image. Lighting is definitely one of the most fun things I have done so far with photography. This image was for the Day and Night photo assignment, which was the first time I learned how to change the camera settings as well as begun to delve into photoshop. Overall, the image itself isn’t great, but it brings together many different skills that I am excited to learn more about and improve at.

Carol A- Bibbidi Bobbidi- Boo

The title for this selected image is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, it was taken Sep 21, 2021 in my backyard. It was taken with my iPhone 11, and what I did to edit it was I turned the brilliance to 0.35, exposure to -0.5, highlights to - 0.19, Shadows to 0.17, Brightness to -0.23, Contrast to 0.14, and black point to 0.6, I think it could have been better if I maybe edit it to where it could’ve had more lighting.

Olivis R - Red

The title of this photo is Red. The chicken in this photo is named Red, she is one of seven of my backyard chickens. This was taken a week or so ago in my backyard with my Nikon D3300. In editing this photo I increased the saturation specifically in her comb and eye. I also darkened the background to make her coloring pop. I think this photo could be better if I wiped her beak and tried to get the chicken in the bottom right out of the shot.

Mia N- Sunset

This picture is titled Sunset and I took this picture on the roof of mu grandparents house last summer. I edited this picture by doing some rethouches but other than that I haven’t really done anything else on it. I think this picture could have been better  if it did not look so busy at the bottom.

Ayla S - King Biscuit

This photograph is titled, “King Biscuit” because it was taken of my cat Biscuit. It was taken on September 4th in my dining room. It was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T6s. To edit this photo I turned up the light to allow Biscuit to appear more vibrant. It could be a little better if the light on the chair didn’t take away as much focus from Biscuit.

Jackson B - Stairs

The image name is Stairs. It was taken around the side of a gas station near my house at around 5pm. It was taken with a Canon EOS 6D. Edited it by increasing things like the saturation and vibrance. It could be better off if it was a bit more infocus

Nora G- Pretty Leaf

I called this “Pretty Leaf”, and it was taken at a park not when it was completely dark but the sun was going down, on September 28, 2021. I took it with my Canon camera. I brightened the image just a little but then brought the black point up as well. Then I put a warm filter on it and that's all I did to edit this one. It could be better if less of it was blurry but I kind of like the way that looks.

Sydney R- Midnight Neon

“Midnight Neon” is the title of this photo. This picture was taken around the end of September of this year in my room. I didn’t do much to edit, I only increased the saturation and did a bit of dodging and burning. The light sources I used were the led lights in my room, and the screen of my phone. If I could have, the thing I would have changed was to increase the amount of purple/pink light.

Caroline M- Arcade

This picture, Arcade, was taken October 3rd, 2021 in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. I used the Nikon D3300 and I used a darker theme to bring out the red LEDs on the video game. I think I could have made it better if I made the red a little more prominent. This picture was meant to be a joke but it turned out to be my favorite photo of the night.

Gabby W- Green Light

The name I chose for my image was Green Light because the fluorescent lights in the photo are green. I took this photo in the car while I and my friends were on our way to TopGolf after our track team had won the state championship. It was around the end of April at the time. I used my iPhone to take this photo. I increased the saturation of the lights in the photo to provide contrast to the dark background.

Jack L- Ash

The name of this photo is “Ash”. This photo was taken at my house. I was standing outside with the camera and she came to the door meowing at me and I thought it was a cute picture. The picture was taken for the All About me assignment. The photo was taken with a canon 6d.

Emily B - Sunset

This photo is called Sunset. I took it over the summer during a sunrise at the beach. I took it with my phone. I edited it by increasing the light and the color. If the image was taken with a better camera than my phone then it would come out clearer.

Elizabeth C- Frosted Glass

The title of this photo is Frosted Glass. This picture was taken in my driveway on a Thursday night of my friend McKaime. This picture was taken with my phone camera.I edited this by taking down the exposure, increasing highlights and saturation, and increasing contrast. This picture could be better if it was just a little bit clearer, but I also really like the fact that it’s super blurry.

Megan H- Boots

This photo is named “boots”. It was taken on september 30 on my brother's back porch. It was taken with a Nikon D700. For this photo, I sharpened the image, I darkened the background, and I added some colors. I could have cropped the image to get rid of all the wood at the bottom.

Marshall F - Truck

This Image is titled Truck. This is a picture of my 1977 Ford F100 pickup truck. It was taken September 8, 2021 in my driveway. I took this picture with an Iphone 12 pro. Edited this picture by bringing up the color a bit, and taking down the lighting a bit. I also blurred some part of the picture, so the focus could be on the truck. This picture could be better if the trees were a bit clearer. They are a bit too fuzzy right now. I also took some other angles of the truck but this was by far my favorite.

Britney P - Flute Overtake

This photo is called “Flute Overtake.” This is of my flute, which I used to play. It was taken on September 21, 2021 outside of my apartment. The picture was taken with a Canon Rebel T7. In the Photo App, I brightened the lighting and colors. Then, in Photoshop, I use the stamp tool to duplicate the flute multiple times. I also used the dodge, burn, and sponge tools to edit the photo. It could be better if the color of the grass was more consistent and clear. I also wished that the grass didn’t reflect off the flute so much. However, overall, I love this photo.

Connor G- Take It Easy

The title of this image is Take It Easy, and I took it one night when I was just messing around with my camera in my room. I took it with my camera and I didn’t really do too much in terms of editing this one. I sharpened the image up a tiny bit, and I erased some extraneous things from the from that didn’t really fit. I think that the shot could have been a clearer and better shot. However, I personally just like the image even though I know it could be significantly better.

Alex B- Willow Tree

The title of my selected image is The Willow Tree. I took this picture in the backyard of my dad’s house in Alabama at around 10 in the afternoon. This picture was taken with my Iphone 12. I edited this picture by enhancing some of the greener colors around the tree and darkening the wood of the trunk a little more. I could have taken the picture with a better camera for better quality and lighting. I also could have spent more time with editing and could have taken the picture with a stand to balance the image. Some additional information about this image is such that it is my grandmothers favourite tree in the world and she said when she dies she wants to be buried beneath the old willow tree in their pasture in Tennessee.

Brooke J- Hershey

The title of this image is “Hershey.” I took this picture In my basement late at night on September 21, 2021. I took this picture with a Canon EOS digital rebel xs. I made the floor black and white and kept her the original color. I also brightened it a little bit. I think it could be better if I took it from a different angle and adjust the lighting differently.

Ani W- Bella Through The Trees

I named this image of my dog Bella Through The Trees. I took this photo on my mom’s birthday February 27th, 2019. I took this photo of Bella in my front yard with my iphone 8 camera. I edited this image by making everything around Bella black and white, and leaving her in color. I thought this was a cool effect but it could have been better by taking this shot in landscape mode, but Bella doesn’t like having her picture taken so I had to be quick with it. Other than that I love this photo of Bella.

A'Kelsa N- Dating

The title is Dating. It was taken earlier this year at Alridge Gardens. It was taken with my Canon t7. I cropped and made the background blurry in this photo, that"s all the editing with this image. His face could be clearer.

Brandon B- Masks Mirror

The title of this image is “Masks Mirror” and one of the mask photos were taken September 21, 2021 and the other mask in the middle was taken July 27, 2021.  Both of these were taken outside on my back deck.  The mask in the middle was taken with my old iPhone XR and the masks on the side were taken with my brand new iPhone 13 Pro.  I edited the photo by combing two photos of my previous Halloween masks.  I cut them out and put them on a black background in photoshop, and then copied the cut outs and inverted them, for a mirror effect.  Lastly, I traced the lines of the masks on the side for a brighter red glow. Finally on all of the lights, I brightened them to make them pop even more.  This photo could be better if I took a little more time tracing and blending the mirror photos.  This photo is most likely the most edited photo in PhotoShop I have ever done.

Trevor P- Happy Dog

The image I am showing you is titled “Happy dog”. This was taken September 13th of this year with my iPhone. This photo came out really well. I just adjusted the contrast along with the vibrance. This photo was taken while I was playing with my dog in my backyard. She is only 10 months old and she is very full of energy. I was throwing a ball for her and I took pictures of her running up to me. I really like this photo because it shows her happy side and if you ever saw her she always looks droopy and kind of sad but she loves to play. I was also able to capture several other pictures of her doing this same thing or playing in the grass but this is for sure my favorite one.

Grace Anne A- Neon Loops

The title of this photo is Neon Loops. This picture was taken on September 25, 2021, and on my driveway at night. It was taken with a Nikon D50, and using a tripod to keep it stable. I edited this using photoshop, and decided to do a monochrome black and white image to make the neon blobs stand out. Then, using a line tool, I created the neon blobs, and erased bits of the shape to give it the appearance that it wraps around the hands. I feel like the erasing could have been better, because the edges of where the blobs were erased are a bit choppy and noticeable.

Alex Burroughs- The Kingdom of Pete

I called this The Kingdom of Pete, This photo was taken in my sunroom in my house. It was taken on March 25, 2020, and it was taken by my Canon EOS REBEL T3. I edited this by using the Photos Application and upping the saturation, the exposure, lowering the highlights, upping the definition and adding a vignette. It would be better if i had cleaned his eyes and the cat tree of the cat hair, as well as getting more of his body in the photo. This is my cat and he's a sweet boy :D .

Will A - BURN

I chose this picture, which I titled, BURN, was taken at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, usually just called JazzFest, in April 2019. This picture is of my dad’s girlfriend's son, who’s name is Hank, but his middle name is Burn, hence the title of the picture. I took it with my phone, because I couldn't be bothered to carry a camera around with me all day, especially in the middle of spring in New Orleans. This picture is interesting, because I was trying to take a normal, nice looking picture of Hank, but right before I hit the capture button, he stuck his hand out and made a face. As far as editing, I really just made the shadows darker, while making the highlights lighter. I also bumped up the brilliance. IF this was taken with a better camera, I could have made the shutter speed shorted, and gotten a lot less blurriness on his hard, which could have looked nice, but I almost think this is better.

Paris C- Dreams

This image is named Dreams because of what I see in the image and what it represents. I took this picture on December 5, 2019 at Birmingham Al. I took this image on my iphone outside. I edited it by adding more darkness, less warmth, and by making the clouds and sunset look more visible and pretty. It could be better by adding less of some things. But this image is one of my favorite edited images.

Madilyn B- Point of View

This image is called Point of View. It was taken in Boone, North Carolina from the deck of the cabin. I took this image with my phone. This image originally has a vintage filter on it. I also darkened the color and light to hide all other objects besides the mountains. This photo would be a lot clearer if it was taken with a DSLR camera.

Emily B-Storm Warning

I titled this image Storm Warning because it was taken on the way back home right before a storm hit our house. I took it with my phone through the car window because I thought the storm made the clouds look interesting. I edited it by increasing the contrast and darkening the image. It could be better by being more still and less blur in parts of the picture but otherwise I think it turned out really well for being in a moving car.
