Alicia U- Car Rides

The title for this image is Car Rides.  This pictures was taken when i was in car and i just took a few shoots when the cars were passing by me.This picture was taken around when we had the night and day.  This picture was taken with a canon camera. I edited this picture by lower down the brightness and contrast. Also add a bit of blue and purple color. This picture could be better if the cars probably wet a little bit slower.

Amber B- Blue

The name of my photo is Blue because it has a blue filter on it. It was taken last year around christmas time. I took it with a nikon D3500 and used the iPhoto editor. I liked how you can see the detail of the trees. The one thing I would change is I would have liked to make the leaves a little more clear.

Ben S - Bell

This photo is called Bell. It was taken in my backyard with a Canon XS. I edited it by making the background less saturated and saturating the bell as well as cropping it a bit. I also blurred the background some and sharpened the bell. It could have been better if I had used a longer lens to blur the background more.

Sophia J- Water Statues

This photo was taken at the Botanical Garden on August 27,2016. It was taken with a 23mm Nikon Cool Pix. I brightened the background, enhanced the colors twice, and saturated the photo. The floor of the photo could have been a little bit more showy.I also want the flowers in the background to show a little more. Other than that the photo turn out great.

Seen B- Blue

The Title of the image is Blue. It was taken in Lake Cyrus. ’Twas taken with my iPhone. I did a black and white background and did a little bit of cropping. I then Color retouched it and made my shadow blue .  I probably could stood in a way that my body would be more straight.

Sam R- Brick Road

I took this picture downtown, I spent a lot of time editing it in photoshop using lots of layers and brushes

Taylor D- Adventure Park

I took this picture about a month at Adventure Park. My brother and his friends were climbing the obstacle course and I noticed these chair facing the open space. Editing wise, I cropped it on the top and contrasted the background a lot and saturated it as well.I thought that the scenery looked great to me so I took multiple pictures of it.

Darius H- Xpill

This picture is called X pill. This was taken outside of my apartment.
This picture was taken with my camera. I did a Hue/Saturation for the edit

DeVaun J- Jeep Bud

The name of the picture is Jeep Bud. I took it September 24 when i was down at my boyfriends dad house close to Florida. I did some clone stamping on the photo to fix a blur spot because of a fingerprint on my lens.it could be better if i could do a better job fixing the spot. I named it Jeep Bud because his name is Buddy like Air Bud but we were in a jeep.

Skylar J - Backyard Flowers

The title of my image is Backyard Flowers. It was taken about two months ago in my backyard. It was taken with my iPhone 6s camera. I edited it by enhancing the color to make it brighter and I cropped it so the main focus could be the flowers and not everything else around them. To make it better, I could have taken the picture a little further away so the flower in the front would be more focused. This is probably my favorite picture that I have taken so far.

John W- Daytona Beach

This picture here is of the beach in Daytona Beach Florida this summer. I took this picture walking along the beach after it rained and saw how blue the sky was. I edited slightly and took the picture with my phone on snapchat. I visited Daytona a lot this year because I had a cousin attending college there. And this is just a little brief summary about the picture.

Ryan G - Untitled

My image doesn’t have a title. It was taken in the front driveway of my house. This photo was taken with a Cannon Rebel T3i. It focuses on an american flag with a silver Lexus in the background. I enhanced the color and brightened up the picture. I also increased the saturation to make the picture look more vibrant. This photo could be better with a different background or maybe a different angle.

Margaret S - Creek

This picture is called Creek due to the subject. It was taken in the creek behind the Hoover Country Club that runs through the golf course. I took the picture on Saturday, September 24th. The picture was taken with my Nikon camera and edited on Photoshop in class. I could better this picture by finding a better angle and working on the lighting.

Semahj R- Back Yard Tree

I took this picture around september,23rd for this assignment. This photo was taken in my back yard with a Canon Xs with a 55 to 250 mm lens on it. I originally imagined me editing the original photo’s color to where the saturation and contrast was just right,But i found a nice filter that brought out the definition of the bark on the trees that made me look at the picture in a different light. the filter i ended up choosing was the the black and white one. It could have been better if i had taken more time focusing  with my camera the picture might have came out with a better blend.

Satura D.- Flowers

The title of this flower is flower because its a flower. I took this picture after a wedding I helped my grandmother catered for. I edited this photo by turning up the saturation and making it a little darker. It could be better if the rest of the flower was in focus.

Tyler L.- Antlers

I took his picture on a mountain looking over the snake river in Idaho. I shot this picture last Friday when we stopped on our rafting trip to stay for the night. This was for our XC trip in Idaho.I shot this picture with a Nikon D3300.I edited this picture by blurring the background and the tall grass in the foreground to focus more on the deer antlers. In this picture I wish I had more light to give a brighter affect to the back ground and shot with less rock in the foreground.

Francisco O.- Car Meet

The title for my selected image is called Car Meet. Parking lot in Homewood and it was taken about four weeks ago. Sharpen the picture, made the color of the car darker, and for the final touches i also mad the picture a little bit brighter. Maybe by not sharpening the picture next time to much.

Will H- Courtyard Views

This picture called Courtyard Views it was taken in January 14 at 3:37. It was taken with my iPhone 5s after school and I edited the sharpness so you can see the sun better  because the way i had took the picture i felt like it need it. i could of used a actual camera instead of my phone and use a tripod with a timer. But this picture i took made me fell really good about how i can take photos of the sun.
It kinda was some of the first pictures i really tried to take.

Maddi S.- Window

This photo is called Window. This photo was taken in an open house that is in my neighborhood. This photo was taken with my iPhone 6. It could be better if it was straighter and more focused. I like the vibrance and the light coming from the window that shadows out the subject.

Mitchell R - Rainbow Fish

The title of this image is “rainbow fish” it was taken about a week ago at my house. I took this photo with my iPhone, and edited it with a blue tint. I could have made a much better pic if i used a tripod or something to put the camera on.

Friday, October 21, 2016

Reid C - Ollie

The title of the image is “Ollie” (that’s his name). It was taken in my house in early September. It was taken with my camera. I edited it by brightening and increasing contrast. It could be better if I could remove the glare in the eyes. The picture is of my dog, Ollie.

Ana M.- Mexicano

This was one of the first picture that I took with a Canon camera in mid August, it was taken in my bedroom. I edited this with the I had a antique effect with blur. I rotated this picture, I lowered the brightness, I put contrast and I cropped the right side of the picture. The way this picture could have been better was to crop the upper side just a little.

Matthew C- H2

This photo is called H2 and it was taken at my house after school. I took this photo with my Canon Powershot and then edited it IPhoto. One was it could be better is if I toned down the brightness a tad bit.

Raven H- Beauty in Darkness

This picture is titled Beauty in Darkness. I took this last year while driving through downtown Birmingham. I used my phone to take it but later added the black and white filter in iPhoto. The only thing I wish I could change about this image is the some what awkward looking angle. It seems straight but there is a little unevenness at the top and bottom right. Overall I really like this picture because of the detailed and aesthetic look.

Olivia H. Green Morning

I titled this Image Green morning. I took this photo over summer break in the front yard of my house right after we got done watering them. It was taken with my iPhone. To edit this image i sharped it a little it and i enhanced the color. It could be better if it wasn’t all green that way the water on the leaf that i was focusing on didn’t blend in so much. I did some editing on my phone but mostly on the computer.

Lindsey F- Flower

The title of this image Flower. It was taken outside my apartment on September 18, 2016. I took this photo on my Nikon D40 camera. I edited the photo by enhancing and blurring the edges. Also, I edited it by setting the sharpness to 100, setting the exposure to 0.43, setting the contrast to 5 and setting the saturation to 57. This image could be better if the image had a better looking background.

Sarah Page H- The Rialto Bridge

The title of my selected image is The Rialto Bridge. This photo was taken in Florence Italy last Thursday. The photo was taken with my Nikon 3300. I auto toned it, auto colored it, and brought the hue coloration up. The photo could be better by making the different oranges and yellows brighter. This part was a side view of the Rialto bridge where there a ton of stores on tope and side of the bridge.

Lily D- Driving in Vestavia

This picture was taken this past weekend in my friends car. I took it with my Canon XTI. We were driving to go eat somewhere in Vestavia and I was sitting in the passenger seat and thought the lights on the road looked cool. The picture ended up having these cool lines on it because I was in auto and not manual, but I ended up really liking how it turned out. I edited it a lot in Photoshop by turning up the hue and saturation and turning down the brightness. I think the way the lines formed in the picture was kind of cool. This picture could have been better if I  had a more focused object and had it in the right mode.

Tristan B- Hats

When and were- My house on the weekend. What it was taken with- Cannon rebel x5.Edited-I photo. It cold be better bye doing some different stuff to it.

Reid B- On My Front Stoop

This picture was taken on September 25, 2016 at 6:38 PM, I took it on my front stoop. I took this picture with a Canon Rebel XSi. I have done no editing to it. I could have made it more level because it was kind of taken sideways. The sun is behind the camera in this picture.

Maci H - Warm Vision

The image I am submitting to the photo blog is “Warm Vision”. I took this during the day on September 18th in my yard while leaning against my car. The picture was taken with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7. I used Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 to edit this picture and created the color filter by playing around with the levels and curves on Adjustments. This picture could have been better if I had taken off all of my eyeliner because the eyeliner created a different color on my waterline.

Mahita T- NYC

This picture was taken last year on the Empire State Building in New York City. I took this picture at the top of the holding with my old phone which was a samsung s4. I edited this picture on VSCO by changing the picture to black and white. I increased the sharpness and added more brightness to the picture.

Magali V - Flowers

“Flowers” is a pictures that I took of my birthday flowers. I used the candle in the background to give some contrast to the darkness. I took this picture on the front steps of my house late at night with my Fuji camera. I cropped the picture and centered it, but i also added some more light and contrast to make the colors of the flowers more vivid. I could make this picture better by making the candle in the background more clear.

Mackenzie J- Bros & Bikes

“Bros & Bikes” is a picture of Everett Young riding in what was called the “Chickenhouse” dirt bike race. This picture was taken was last Saturday in Maplesville.  I took this photo with my Canon Rebel while it was in sport mode. I edited it by using a brighter filter off of the VSCO app. To make this picture better, I could have angled my camera more towards the back of the bike, that way more of the splash and previous background was shown.

Ava W- Pres

I titled this picture “Pres”, short for Presley, my sister. This picture was taken one weekend when me, my sister, and my friend Sydney went downtown. I took this picture with my Nikon D5200 and I edited it using VSCO. I like this picture because I caught her off guard and I like how the light comes in and shines on her face. I could have made this picture better by getting less of the seats of the car and focusing more on my sister’s face and the light shining on it.

Yash M- Alabama Panorama

I named this picture Alabama Panorama because it’s a panorama of my first Alabama game. I took the picture at the Kent State game a few days ago at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. I took it with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in panorama mode which is why I named it panorama. I did not really edit it since I liked the colors and the way it came out. One thing that could have made it better was if the red hat directly in front of the camera was more clear since it appears a little bit blurry in panorama mode. I like how my friend’s shaker on the far right appears to be in motion since he was shaking it at the time. The game was a blowout, however, and Alabama won 48-0. I posted the photo to Instagram and I have it on my Google Photos.

Joey B- Pezients

I titled this image Pezidents. It was taken on August 21 at 3:15 PM in my bedroom. I used a Canon EOS Rebel T5 to take this photo. To edit this photo I used the enhance feature, increased the exposure to 0.18, the contrast to 5, the saturation to 57, the definition to 19, the highlights to 36, the shadows to 24, the sharpness to the max, the denoise to 88, the temperature to 3, and the tint to negative 3.This photo would have been better if I had zoomed out more to include more Pezidents.

Matthew G.- Botanical Gardens

This picture was taken at the Botanical gardens in Birmingham. I took this over the summer on a Monday afternoon. I took this with a Nikon D3300 and I messed with the saturation and definition a little bit. The biggest part was flipping the image to give it a trippy kind of look. I could have centered the lily pads a little bit more to make this picture better.

Lesly M- Checkerboard Vans

I took this picture somewhere last year. It was a a good day with friends and all that good stuff. Pretty much just chilled the entire day, the weather though, it felt amazing. I just put up the saturation up a bit and thats all I did. I like it simple, you know? That’s all I have to say cause I don’t know what else to say.

Madelyn F- Startrail

My image is titled “Startrail”. It was taken in Jackson Hole, Wyoming late at night by the Chapel of Transfiguration. I took this picquet with my Nikon D7000. I did thirty, two minute exposures and stacked the thirty pictures on top of one another in photoshop to get the swirling stars effect. I would like the subject (the chapel) to be a little sharper.

Mattie B- Mykonos

This picture is titled “Mykonos” because it was taken off the coast of the Greek Island Mykonos. I took this picture right before sunset with my iPhone 6 at a little café on the water. I didn’t edit this picture, but if  did i would make it a little clearer so you can see the detail in the buildings.

Emily B - Sunset Off of Highway 31

I took this picture for the first assignment and it is one of my favorite pictures. This is the sunset off of Highway 31. I was driving around with some friends close to the time the sun was supposed to set and we found a little clear area that almost no trees were in and took the shot. I love this because it has so many different colors in it and the line between the cool colors and warm colors looks nice. I edited this by quick enhancements, brining up the saturation, and dimming the light a little. It could be better if there was more sunset and less blue. I took this with  Nikon D 3200.

Sam R- Bubbles

I shot this on my back porch a week ago using a Pentax K-5.
I messed with levels to black out the background
I made another layer and messed with select coloring and painted the polkadots into the background.

Kristie M- A Walk to the Beach

This photo is called “A Walk to the Beach”. I took this picture over the long Labor Day weekend while I was at Sandestin with my friends and family. I edited this photo by cropping and increasing the brightness. I really like this picture because it reminds me of the trip and how much fun I had that weekend. The beach is also one of my favorite places to go because of how beautiful and calming it is, if the beach is not crowded. To improve this image, I would have taken it from a higher angle to get more of the beach and some of the sand.

Cullen S- Fire

I titled this photo Fire because that is what could’ve happened if the situation did not work fully. I took this in my driveway at around 9:30 on September 27th. I took this photo with a Nikon 50DX and a tripod that I own. If the infinity sign that can vaguely be seen got more centered than I believe this would’ve been a outstanding picture. I would love to dive more into the idea of long exposure and light and see what else I can achieve with this.

Julia M- Wanting More

This picture is titled “Wanting More”. It was taken 2 weeks ago on my Cannon in my room in front of a mirror. I edited it by adding black and white and adding back some color in small place to give it a little life. It could have been better if I could have controlled the reflection and flash easier. I love this picture because it helps me figure out my own unique look through the lens.

Jasmine C- Ceramics

This photo is called Ceramics and it was taken in my 7th period ceramics class. It was taken with an old sony camera that was given to me. To edit I just increased sharpness, definition and shadow. To make it better i could have increased de-noise. I really like this picture.

Connor V- New Car

This picture is called New Car, this picture was taken the day I got this car.

Jack S- Helmet

this photo is titled “Helmet” it was taken in my garage on my iPhone 6 back camera, i did some editing in iPhoto, i think a tripod would have made the picture look better.

Anna Grace L- Sun Plants

I titled this image sun plants because you could see the vivid colors of the sun behind the plants. This was taken up on top on the Bluff right of South Shades Crest Road. I took this picture with my camera, a Cannon Rebel T5. I did not really edit much about this picture besides the brightness. This image could be better if the sun was not so bright in that one area behind the plant.
