Molly B- Apple Trees

The title of this picture is Apple Trees. It was taken at my Grandmothers house on Thanksgiving. It was taken with my COOLPIX L830. I edited it by brightening the colors and sharpening it. It could be better if more apples were in the picture to help balance it better.

Mychael O- Statement

I took this photo in Gulf Shores about 2 months ago and I added a filter to it and bumped up the saturation a little bit. One thing I could have done to make it better was to have taken it from a different angle.

Matthew R - Viper Rolling Shot

Daniel M - "Roof"

The title of my picture if “Roof”. I took this a few weeks ago downtown. I took this with my nikon D40. to edit this photo i turned the brightness up a little. To make this photo better i would have backed up a little to get more of the building in the photo.

Peyton R- Green

The title of this image is, “Green”. I too this with my Cannon Rebel a few months back. This was taken in Aldridge Gardens. To edit this photo I increased the saturation as well as the vibrance. I believe this photo could have been better if the branches close to the lens were gone. Overall I think it is a good photo.

Kaley A- Chillin

I named this image “Chillin” I took this image on Disney’s private island Cast Away Cay, I edited this image by increasing the brightness slightly and increasing the contrast, it could have been better if the bike handles were more aligned. Overall I am happy with the outcome of this picture.

Emily F - The City

The title of this photo is “The City”. This picture contains three images. Two were taken in Downtown Birmingham and one was taken in New York. They were taken with a Sony Dsc-H300. I edited it in photoshop. This photo could be better if the words were bolder.

Dejon F- Reflection

The title of this image is called Reflection. This picture was taken in a hospital in New Orleans during Christmas break. This photo was taken with my iPhone 5s. I did minimal editing to it because I  like the way it looks as is. This image would be better if it was a little lighter.

Alena D-Band

I named this “Band”. It was taken at one of the football games, I was on the field for Yearbook and I saw the band and I got really close so I could take this photo. It was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T5. I didn’t do anything to this photo because I like how it turned out. I think it could have been better if I took this photo also from a different angle and zoomed out a little bit more so you could see more of the hat and maybe focused a little better. I honestly like this photo its a picture of his hands on his hat which is the uniforms and He plays the drums.

Gabi B- bonfire

The title of this image is “Bonfire” . I took this picture of the lights last Sunday at my Church’s bonfire. I took this picture with my iPhone 6 and I edited it by increasing the contrast and adjusting the hue/saturation. I think the picture could be better if it was clearer and you could see more of my shoes.

Dayne M- Luminescence

The title of the image is “Luminescence” and it is a composite. Even though it is a composite, most of the images were taken at my house in the past few weeks. They were taken with my Nikon D5500 and I edited them by adding masks and blending layers. It could be better if it was clearer and maybe more of a main subject.

CJ G - Snowball

The title of this image is ‘Snowball” I combined 3 different pictures together to make this one. I used a lot of masks when I was editing this. It could be better if I masked the edges better. Overall I like this picture

Tajane C- Nature’s Beauty.

The title of my image is called Nature’s Beauty. This was taken in Mr. Rigsby’s studio room. It was taken with the camera that was provided. I edited it through iPhoto and Photoshop. I don’t believe that this picture could be better I feel that this is the best I can do.

Tanner R- Lilies

The title of this picture is Lilies. This picture was taken a year ago in my room. I edited it by brightening up the pink and the green in the picture. It could be better if the middle of the flower was more in focus.

Wes S-UAB Baseball Field

The Title of the image is UAB Baseball field It was taken at UAB mid November I edited it by doing a hue change to the tree and the fence. It could be better if I smoothed out the bottom of the fence more with the hue change because it doesn’t cover the bottom properly.

Gage W- Abandoned

I named this photo Abandoned because of the overall atmosphere of the photo. This was taken at a rundown country club with my Nikon D3330. This photo isn’t edited in the slightest.

Chloe J- Cliff Hangs

I named this photo “cliff hangs” It was taken of my friend Clayton last week at moss rock preserve. I took is with my canon XSI. I edited it by cropping it and turning up the contrast just a bit. It could be better if I spent more time editing it. But other than that I really like the mood this photo gives.

Christine G- Under the Moonlight

The title of this image is “under the moonlight”. This picture is a composite photo and a combination of pictures from different assignments. The main photo being shown here was taken during the night and day assignment at the Georgia town place park. I edited this photo by combining a photo of the trees, flower and water. I then used different blending modes until i achieved the final results. This photo would have been better if i was able to get rid of some of the top of the picture that doesn’t match with the rest of the photo.

Matt H- Big Day At Old Grey

The title of this image is “Big Day At Old Grey”. This is a composite image I created with images I took at the Birmingham Bowl. Auburn was the victor, so they are the main focus of this photograph. All images were taken with a Nikon D3300 camera and a zoom lens. To edit this picture I used the scoreboard as a background then I transferred each of the pictures of the players and the coach into the image. Next I transferred an image of the Auburn flags onto the background and I made the layer a lighter color layer. Then I transferred a cropped image of a pre-snap lineup behind the legion field sign and made the layer a luminosity layer. Finally I wanted to make the legion field sign stand out more so I increased the vibrance, brightness, and contrast of the letters. One area where I had trouble making a decision was whether I should try to paint in the remainder of the orange flag or not. I am not certain whether that would be an improvement or not. I spent a lot of time on this picture and it took multiple tries to finally get all of the positioning the way I wanted it.

Caitlin G- Eye Allusions

The title of this picture is “Eye Allusions”. I used 3 different pictures in this composite picture and they were all taken over the past few months at different places and times. All these pictures were taken with Canon Rebel EOS. I edited it in Photoshop creating layers and masks, adding contrast and saturation, and filters. This could be better if it was not as dark and more focused.

Annemarie K- Emily

This picture is called Emily. It was taken last week in the courtyard. I took this picture with one of Mr. Rigby’s cameras. i edited it by brightening it up a bit, adding some saturation and I colored in her eye a bit to make it a little more blue.

Rebecca S-Sunset Keys

This picture is called Sunset Keys and it is a composite image. The piano was taken in August, the sunset was taken a few days ago, and the other picture was taken in Sausalito, California. I applied the Darker Color Blending Option to the Sausalito picture and the Darken Blending Option for the sunset and layered them on the piano. I added a color layer to color the sunset a little more vibrant and adjusted the levels. It could be better if the sunset looked a little more realistic and less painted but overall i like this picture.

Ella P- One World

This photo is entitled “One World” because it’s of the World Trade Center in New York City. I took it with my iPhone 6 at the base of the tower. I boosted the saturation, definition, and detail in the image. I also cropped out some of the trees to make it seem bigger. This is one of my favorite photos because it had good leading lines and a good solid color.

Maison R- Magical

The title of this photo is “Magical”. It was taken in Disney’s Magic Kingdom in the beginning of December. I took this picture with my iPhone 6. All I did to edit it was increase the saturation and contrast. I also made the temperature slightly cooler. I think it could be better if I took it with my Canon.

Isaac N- Royal City

I took this photo In downtown Birmingham over the summer, and I really enjoy the angle I got of the mural. I edited the picture by using Hue/Saturation layers and changed the color of the letters from a dark red, to a royal blue. I also used the same layer to make the actually building green, from a creme color. The last thing I edited was I made the background of the picture to a black and white filter to make the colors pop on the building more. I don’t think i would change anything in the picture except if it was standing like 2 feet over, to the right.

Briggs A- Alex Patriotic

This is a composite image I created for the Composite Assignment. I love this one because it is funny. At first i wanted to just put two or three photos of him in it but it turned into something more patriotic when I took an American flag and (with the help of Mr. Rigsby) wrapped it around his head like a bandana.

Aania C- Composite

I just titled this image Composite. All of these images were taken within the last year at various times. 2 of them were taken with my iPhone and the sign one was taken with a canon. To edit it, I duplicated the background, which is the sign. Then I added the mirror and the clock into the background and lowered the opacity on both of those. I also added a motion blur to the clock. Then at the end, I just added a gradient fill layer over the top of that. I definitely think i could’ve explored more with the blending options to make it better, and if there are any suggestions pertaining to the blending or the layers that could make this cooler, I would love to know !

Abby U- Happy Birthday

This photo is called Happy Birthday. This was taken at my house on December 29. This was the day of my sisters birthday. It was taken with a Canon Rebel t5i. This picture could be better if it was taken from another angle.

Ifeanyi M- Ba$ketball Go@l

This photograph is titled “Ba$ketball Go@l” because the subject of this picture is the basketball goal. I took this picture in the driveway of my house, where the basketball goal is located. It was taken with my iPhone 5s and I did not edit it in any way because I think it looks fine the way it is, but I’m welcome to other opinions. This picture could be better if I took it with a better camera instead of my phone. I’d also like to add that I took this picture with out the flash, and I only used the background light while it was nighttime.

Nicole T- Red Heart

This picture is called Red Heart and it was taken in my room a few weeks ago with a Canon Powershot Sx 150 IS. I edited it by turning up the vibrance and playing around with the saturation and hue as well as the contrast. It could be better if there weren’t the small white silver areas in some places on the hand. This picture is the artwork for the American Idiot Album by Green Day.

Trey D-My Favorite Dog

The title of my picture is called “My favorite Dog”. It was a year ago at my my grandparents house during the summer. I took it with my 5th Generation iPod touch. I used g;owing edges, handed the brightness, exposure, contrast, hue, saturation, and I made the quality better. There is nothing else that I can do to make it better I made it as perfect as I can.

Mychael O- Eno

This picture was taken at the Preserve over Thanksgiving Break and I liked it because it was focused on the Eno pouch thing and the rest was blurry. To edit it, I added vibrance, brightness, and a little saturation. It could have been better if you could see the whole word of “Eno.”

Jacob C- The Rule

The name of this photo is The Rule. It was taken in front of Golden Rule BBQ with my Nikon. I really didn’t do that much to it. I increased the brightness and saturation of the red. Then I went in and painted the red in the logo. It could have been better if I could have used a tripod because it was at night. This is my favorite because Golden has the best sweet tea.

Samuel C - PhotoBlog

It was taken at my house about two weeks ago. It was taken with my iPhone 6
I boosted the the green and removed blemishes with the retouch tool that were in the way of the images. It could been better by changing the angle of the photo and using a solid or simple background

Seth W- Early Risers

The title of my image is Early Risers because the picture shows the sun rising in the background of my grandparents farm.  It was take at my grandparents house the Friday after Thanksgiving.  It was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T5.  To edit I adjusted the brightness and contrast and adjusted the vibrance.  I think it could be better if the light from the sun was not so overwhelming.

Rere H- Lost In The Colors

The title of my photo is “Lost in the colors”. I took this picture about a week ago outside my apartments. I took this photo with an Fujifilm FinePix S8600. I increased the exposure , contrast and saturation up. I also turned the temperature down. and used photoshop to creat a style of different colors . This photo could have been better if I turned the brightness down. The reason I picked this photo was because its different and i like the colors .

Rajiv P - Wilson Six-One

The title of this image is Wilson Six-One. It was taken in my driveway a couple of weekends ago. It was taken with my Canon PowerShot 160. I edited by turning up the saturation all the way up, and also turning the definition, sharpness, and highlights all the way up. It could have been better if I would have made the background more in focus or even completely changing the background all together.

Alex Z - The Small World

The name of this photo is called “The Small World”. This was taken at my house around 2-3 weeks ago during a very cloudy day. It was taken with my Camera CANON. This was edited in a way to make this seem very dark. Lowering the brightness. I think that some of the leaves don’t go with the mood trying to be implied by the photo, so I could have removed them from the set. I chose to choose this photo because I feel like it gives an ominous feeling to the viewer. I also took this photo at this height because I wanted to show the view of the world through the eyes of a small creature, giving a worm-eye view to the photo.

Briley S- Walt Disney World

I named this picture Walt Disney World because that is where it was taken.  I took it with my Samsung SL720. To edit it i turned up the brightness and cropped it. this picture would be better if the light post were not in it.

Ryan F- Lunchtime

This picture is titled “Lunchtime”. It was taken in the Hoover High school cafeteria on November 13th, 2015. It was taken with a Pentax-DA. I edited it by using a spot healing brush to make some parts of it blend, then I messed with the hue, saturation, brightness, and contrast. It could be better if I had taken the picture further away from the subject. Willie is the plug.

Grant S.- Sunset Paradise

I titled this photo Sunset Paradise. I took it in Clearwater, FL at a beach resort hotel during the first week of October. I took the picture with a iPhone 5c. The photo was edited by lassoing the bird and adding two more to the picture. Also more saturation and vibrance was added. The photo could be better if the tree to the right wasn’t cut out of the photo. I love how this photo came out.

OryieonM- Pretty Flower

This picture is called pretty flower. I Took it about 2 weeks ago. The only effect i did was boosted the colors in the image.

Drew F- Model A

This picture was taken at homestead hollow in November. I took this picture with my iPhone. i edited this picture by cropping the surrounding people out of it and changed the exposure. This picture could be better if taken from a lower angle. Ford Built Tough

Riley Y - Pictorialist

The name of this picture is “Pictorialist” because it was my first attempt at the exercise we did in class. I took this picture in my house for the night and day assignment. I took it with my Cannon PowerShot S5 IS. I edited the photo by using a mixture of the charcoal, stamp, and poster edges filters. It might be better if I had manipulated the filters better to not make the wall behind the violin disappear.

Christine G-Hidden Paradise

title: hidden paradise
taken: Georgetown place park, August
taken with: sony camera
this photo would have been better if i took it in a different angle.

Jonathan T. - Soldiers in Halo Light

This image is called “Soldiers in Halo Light” because of the Army graduates dressed in their ASU’s in a bright sunlight. I took it at Fort Benning, Georgia, during the Infantry graduation of several companies. I took it with an iPhone. I edited it by downing saturation, upping brightness, and upping contrast some. It would be better with better sharpness and probably being taken with a better camera.

Chris C- Pencil Flower

The name of this photo is Pencil Flower, I took this photo at Hoover High School near the E hallway outside and i took it 2 weeks ago. I edited this photo by using filters it to make it into a pictorialist. I could have made this picture better by fixing the blue lines on the brick wall an could had crop the brick wall off.

Matthew R - Gold Mustang

I call this photo Gold Mustang. I took it a month or two ago in downtown Birmingham. I took it with a Canon T3i. I edited it primarily in Photoshop’s Camera Raw, bringing down the lighting, boosting clarity, and altering the colors slightly to bring the tone down. I then essentially tinted the color of the car, and edited the saturation of that layer to make it gold. I darkened the grill of the car as well. It could have been better if the car had been a cooler car.
