Bray M- Lights

This picture is called lights.  I took this picture while walking to my 8th period class.  I took it with my Iphone 13.  I edited this picture by turning the picture black and white.  It could’ve been better if I edited the posteres off of the wall in a better more time consuming way.

Logan S - Fence

The title of this photo is Fence. I took this photo in my backyard about a week ago. This photo was taken with a Kodak AZ252 digital camera. I did very light editing on this photo, only changing the brightness and contrast. I think this photo could have been better if I cropped it more into the center.

Ayda M-Phoebe Bridgers

I took this picture at a concert last summer. I took this with my Canon Power shot, I lowered the brightness, and increased the shadows, the contrast, and the warmth. I think if the picture were a little less blurry I would like it more but overall I really like it.

Kamron Y - Workplace

The title of this image is workplace. It was taken at my work in valleydale after i got off. This was just taken with my phone but i then put it into photoshop to make it a panorama. This could eb better with a better camera and maybe more pictures to get rid off some of the cutoffs.

Josmary- Lucena

I took it at the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta on September 25, 2022, I took the photo with a Samsung SM-A13, edited it with Analog Efex Pro 2, added the necessary lighting and the fish took center stage. I personally love the photo.

Steven L-Nostalgia

I took this photo in the backyard of my aunt's house on August 27, 2022. I took this photo with a kodak pixpro az401. I edited this photo by adding a nik collection filter, the Analog Efex Pro to be more specific. I think it could be better if I increase the highlights or maybe the shadows, but I still think it looks good.

Nikolaus H-Antique Future

I named this photo ‘Vintage Future’ since this car was supposed to be the car of the future. This photo was taken last weekend at tip top grill while my friend and I were having a mini car show. A Pentax 100D camera captured this moment. To edit this photo, I put a Efex pro filter on it and retouched the plate number out. I think I could.ve done this photo better if I had positioned the car so that there wasn’t a shadow on the rear end.

Jamie T - Carter

I call this image “Carter”. The reason it's called that is because it is a weird picture I took of my friend, Carter. I took it with my phone. It was taken in my history class a month or two ago. I edited it by sharpening it some, messing with the saturation, and adding a vignant. I feel like if it was a bit sharper it would be better. But overall I think this is a nice, “Creepy” Picture.

Michelle R- Carnival

I named it Carnival. It was taken at the fair a while ago  up on the ferris wheel. It was taken with my phone. I rented it and brightened the colors lightened the sunset. The bottom could have been brighter.

Lana Qaffaf - Haunted

My title for this image is Haunted because it is a photo of an abandoned room in a church that I assume to be haunted because it is located beside a cemetery. I took this photo in Febuary and edited it with the Nik collection Color Efex Pro 4 filter. It was very cold in this room and it smelled like dust. Anyways i feel like this could be better if i did not make it so grainy.

Dylan B- Sunset at Work

This picture is called “Sunset at Work.” I obviously took it at work, and this photo was taken around end of February. I edited this picture with the silver efex pro in photoshop, and turing the brightness and colors up in photos. I  dont really think I can really improve on this picture, its one of my favorites.

Crystal V- Gracie

The name of this photo is called Gracie. This photo was taken March 5 at a family friend's house. I took this photo with my phone. How I edited this photo was turning it black and white and turning the brightness up by a lot. If this photo was more clear it would be better. I kinda like this photo but i wish it was a bit more clearer and brighter.

Amber H- Bowing

This image is titled Bowing, I took this image in January when I directed a show. I was in the sound booth looking out over the house and stage and captured my cast mid bow. I edited this picture with a lot of spot healing, cropping, dodging, and burning. I love this picture because I captured it in a moment of appreciation for these people who I was incredibly proud of.

Allyson Cr Pathe Tuschinski

This photo was taken at the Pathé Tuschinski in Amsterdam when my family went to see Avatar: The Way of Water. This used to be an old opera house, but now it is used for watching movies! Because of its beautiful architecture it is one of the most famous cinemas in the Netherlands. I took this picture with my iPhone 11. I didn’t edit it much, but I increased the contrast and made it more saturated. I think this could be better if I had angled it to include the ceiling because I feel like this doesn’t capture the full architectural beauty of the opera house.

Maci J- Urban Pops

The title of this image is Urban Pops. It was taken, as the title suggests at Urban pops, and is specifically just the roof. I took it with my Canon camera for the architecture assignment around February. This image was originally in color but I thought it would look better and more dramatic in black and white. The angle of the building is nice because you can see both windows and the dimension of the pyramid roof piece. I don’t think this image is inherently bad but maybe I could’ve found taken it from more angles. Overall. it’s interesting to me because the rest of the buildings in this strip area are very rectangular, but this building just happened to have a really pretty roof.

Wendy S- Oreo

The title of my photo is Oreo which is my chihuahua’s name. I don’t remember when it was taken but it was taken at my house. This photo was taken with my iPhone, I edited it by adding more light to it and I used one of the Nik collection filters ( Color Efex Pro). I liked the photo overall and i thought his eyes were cute in it.

JOSE GOMEZ B - Lights

This photograph was taken in my house, the edits are low exposure and high contrast so that the light stands out

Helen S- Downtown

I titled this image Downtown. I took this picture while in Downtown St. Augustine during the thanksgiving break. I took this picture on my Sony A6500 with a portrait lens. I edited the picture using the HDR Efex Pro filter on photoshop. I think the way I could make the picture better is by taking it at a wider angle to capture more. As well as toning down a bit on the editing but this was also done for the nik collection so I wanted it to stand out a bit

Bryan F- The Mexican View

The title of this image is The Mexican View. I took the photo in Metepec, Toluca, Mexico July 28, 2022. I took this photo with my iPhone 13. I added a filter with Photoshop.

Kate M- Which Path?

I named this picture “Which path?”. It was taken at Bryce Hospital about a month ago for the architecture assignment. I took it with my D5600 camera and I edited by turning the contrast and saturation up and the blackpoint up. It’d be better if it was a little more clear. Bryce Hospital was pretty swag, but no ghosts. :(

Emily K - Bottle

This image is titled Bottle because that is what it is. I took this picture on September 24, 2022 at my lake house with my Canon t7. This picture was used for the Nik Collection assignment and the HDR efex pro filter was applied. I think it could have been better if I sharpened the details a little bit. I really like how the background is a bunch of dots and the reflection from the lake water.

Milan S- Airplane Mode

I call this image “Airplane Mode”.  I took this image with my iPhone on February 27th on the way back from LA on the airplane. I used the HDR Efex Pro filter from the Nik collection and then took out some of the glare from the window so it would look like the phone was outside of the window. I think I could have sharpened the image some more so the details would be more visible.

Ashton T - Underwater

The title of the image I selected is “Underwater”. This image was taken at the Tenneesee Aquarium in January. It was taken with my iPhone. I edited it by changing the colors by using Color Efex Pro from the Nik Collection. I also removed a fish that was in the background that looked strange because it was in movement. Honestly, I really like this image and I’m not sure how I could improve it. I think it turned out really nice and I had a lot of fun with the Nik Collection assignment we did!

Dori H - Rusted Years

The title of this image is Rusted years. I took this picture in Januray in the historical part of Bessemer. It was an abandoned building that has grown old with the years. I made the image slightly sharper and added a cool toned filter that enhanced the rust on the building and the blue sky behind it.I didn’t edit it too much because it didn’t really need much change. I think I couldn’ve taken the picture from a better perspective but overall I really like how this image turned out.

Anna Gale H- Aston

This image is called “Aston”. It was taken at the park last week and it is of my new puppy named Aston. I took it with my iphone and I didn’t do anything to edit it.I think it would be better if there were no people in the photo.

Diana P - Clouds

The title of this image is “Clouds”. This image was taken while I was in my car driving to a store sometime in October. I took this picture with a Canon Powershot SX520 HS.  I edited this picture with the Analog Efex Pro filter. I really liked how it came out so I don’t really know how it could be better.

Ahmad J- Ancient Pathway

This photo was in the Birmingham Botanical Garden last year during the Spring. I took this photo was my iphone 12 pro max. I edited it using silver efex pro to give it this old film look. I think it gives it a really nice look. I think I could have done this filter better but I think overall I think its pretty nice.

Maddox D- Statue Heads

The title is Statue Heads. It was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T6i. I put the image in black and white and raised the contrast. I lowered the brightness and took out part of the faces and blended it with the background. I could have matched the body of the subject a little better with the editing I did with the face.

Benji H - Dystopia

This is Dystopia. It was taken in downtown Montgomery with my phone and edited in photoshop. I added filtered layers of yellow and green tones to dull and neutralize the image to connect the abandonment of the building to the surroundings it is in. Additionally, I added grain to the image to give it the feel of an old film camera and added a black-to-white gradient to make it feel foggy and dusty. I do wish the filters around the pipe along the sky were cleaner but I do believe I was still able to capture the vibe needed to give this image a dystopian tone.

Matthew H- Analog Efex

I took this picture for the architecture assignment with my Canon Mark II. This was a picture from my side porch of the hotel in Ross Bridge. Originally, it was a sunset type picture that had a lot of color, but I thought it was too blurry to use in that way so I decided to make it a vintage and haunted looking picture. I edited it with the Analog Efex NIK collection and changed around the black and white settings to get the worn look I wanted. I think this image turned out exactly how I wanted and I’m happy with the editing.

Peyton K- Bentley

I took this photo last week of my dog Bentley. I took it with a Canon and I used natural light from the sun. I like how you’re able to see a close up of his eyes. I also like how there is a lot of texture on his face in this photo. I cropped it and adjusted the brightness. I probably could have backed up a little more to show more of the face but overall, I like the photo.

JOSE GOMEZ B - HealthClub

This photograph was taken two days ago when I was at the Health club gym in Pelham.

Bryan F- Wine Forrest

The title of this image is Wine forest just because the red reminded m of wine. This photo was taken in Mexico at ‎⁨Parque Velo De Novia⁩, ⁨Valle de Bravo⁩ on July 31, 2022. The photo was taken with my iPhone 13. I put a filter called color efex pro on photoshop and changed the brightness and saturation of the filter.

Dylan B- Backyard

The title of this picture is just “backyard.” It was taken around the end of February/beginning of March. This picture was taken with my phone. I edited it in photoshop with the color efex pro in the nik collection section. This picture could be better if I used photos to edit it before editing it in photoshop.

Chloe A- Lights

This photo is called Lights and it was taken at the Alabama Bandmasters Association Competition in Birmingham was taken with my Minolta MN35Z camera. The sun was just starting to set and the large stadium lights were coming on, and I thought “why not?”, so I took some photos of the field, some people, and the lights. I edited this one by cropping most of the sunset out and increasing the saturation, but I didn’t touch it until the Nik collection assignment. For that assignment, I put the Color Effex filter on, lowered the brightness, and increased the shadows. This helped stimulate an after-dark-type feeling, as well as a mystery effect to the shot. It could be better if I got more of the lights in the shot.
