Imani P- Bloom

I named this photo “Bloom” because it’s the first ever photo I’ve edited and taken for this class so it represents my blossoming as a photographer. Also it’s a flower so that seemed like the obvious choice. This picture was taken outside my apartment building on 10/17/18. I took the picture on a Samsung Galaxy J3. The phone’s camera quality is not that good so I chose to make the picture black and white and only revealed the original color of the flower underneath. I darkened the blues and greens in the picture to make the flower stand out more. It could of been more creative, I feel like it’s a little basic as is, but I don’t know what to do with it. Also, I should of smoothed out the background more.

Jacob D - Rigsby at Work

This image is titled “Rigsby at Work” and it features Mr. Rigsby working at a computer. It was taken in class on October 3, 2018 with my Nikon Coolpix S3700. I edited it by putting on a black and white filter and then played around with lighting, contrast, and colors. I think it could be better if it was a bit sharper and less blurred in certain areas. Other than that I love the photo as it is. I did also take it when he was paying attention and distracted with helping a student. It’s a candid shot.

Faye M- Flower Girl

The title of my selected image is “Flower Girl” because the subject is a girl holding sunflowers in her hands. It was taken around November 3rd and it was taken in my sister’s room, but the girl in the picture isn’t my sister. It was taken with my phone because I didn’t have my camera with me, the picture was a kind of impromptu thing. I edited it by increasing the saturation and decreasing the light while also trying to sharpen the image just a little. I wish the image wasn’t as grainy, but I didn’t expect very good quality from my phone camera. Even though I think it could be better, I think the girl’s smile is a good moment that I captured.

Erika P- Seaside

This picture is called “Seaside.” I chose this title because I was at Seaside when I took it. I took it with my iPhone 7 two summers ago. I increased the saturation a little bit but that’s all I did. I think it could be better if the water didn’t look so dark.

Deebaj F- Untitled

This image doesn’t have a titile, but it was taken two month ago when I was going to Atlanta. I take this photo with my Camera, Canon EOS Rebel T6. I edit this photo on the photoshop and Nick collection (increase darkness and bright the colors) to make the photo more better. I like how its turned out in the end.

Anna Claire H -Reflection

Elected a photo I call reflection. I took this photo at railroad park about a month ago. It was taken with my cannon Eos rebel xs. I think it could be better if the people were to in the background. I love hoe the sun is refecting onto the cloud.

Natalie M - Untitled

This image doesn’t have a title. It was taken a few weeks ago at Bluff Park Elementary School. It was taken with my friend’s iPhone 6s. I didn’t edit it because I liked how it already looks and I didn’t feel like it really needed editing. It could probably be better if I tried to edit it.

Alyshan A - Thinking of a Name

I do not have a name for this picture. I took this picture of my friend at the hoover met during the summer. To edit it, I got rid of a bit of color to make it more low-key. I also increased the black point just a little, and I got ride of a little exposure. I wanted to give it a more mysterious look. To make it better, I would control the exposure more; I do not think I did a good job of doing that.

Tyler W- Airfield

This picture is titled “Airfield”. It was taken with a nikon d90 at Shelby county airport about a month ago. Edited this picture using Color Efex pro and analog Efex pro. This picture could have been better if the weather was better, I had a different lens, and if there were more planes in frame.

Anna S- Colors

I call this picture, “Colors.” I took it at the lake while I was watching the sunset. I took it with my go-pro. I edited it by enhancing it, turning up the contrast, and intensifying the blue tones. It could be better if there was not as many ripples in the water and it was more clear. I love the sky. The colors are beautiful. It is really important to me to take in the looks of the sky because you will never see the same looks of it again.

Megan C - Fierce Thinking

I named this image “Fierce Thinking” mostly because the bob cat to me looks like it’s in a deep thought but has a serious look on the face. I took this in the summer at the Birmingham Zoo with my Nikon D3400 camera. I edited this image in photoshop using the Bi-Color Used Defined effect and by lowering the contrast a little on the effect. I think the image could be better if some parts of the body weren’t as faded, but overall I’m happy with the final look.

Alyssa C- Jack Skellington

This image is called Jack Skellington. I took this photo a couple days before Halloween after I had just finished craving my pumpkin. I decreased the highlights and increased the shadows this way the light in the pumpkin would really glow. I wish that the other pumpkin to the left had more color to it when I had edited this picture.

Dontreal L- Old York

The title of my photo is Old York because obviously it has a old look to it. I was in New York when I took it; around Manhattan. I took it was a small Sony camera. I put a old filter on it with the Nik collection and brighten it up with curves in photoshop. I could’ve made it better by taking a cleaner picture to maximize results

Ainsley M- Wind Chimes

This picture is titled “Wind Chimes”. This was taken of a wind chime in my backyard at the beginning of September and was taken with a Sony digital camera. I edited it by increasing the brightness and contrast so there was more focus on the wind chime. I think it could be better if the sunlight was distributed equally throughout the chime so there weren’t parts of it that were dark.

Ethan D- My Basketball Goal

The title of this photo is My Basketball Goal. I took it a couple weeks ago outside my house. It was taken with my Sony camera. I just changed the color of this photo. I wish I could’ve filter the picture a little more. The goal in the picture is my goal.

Devon H- Controller

This image is called controller. It was taken at home I don’t remember the day.It was taken with my iPhone. I just lowered the curves. It could be better if my controller was clean.

Alyshan A - The White Flower Thing

The name of this photo is “The White Flower Thing.” I named it this because it is a white flower; however, I am not sure what type it is, so I just mention it as “thing”. This was taken a couple weeks ago in my front yard. I took this picture with the Sony New 5 camera. To edit the picture, I inscrease the contrast and significantly increased the definition. I wanted to do what I could to give the sharpest image of the flower. This could be better by touching up on the color aspect of the picture. I have no other information to say about my image.

Tyler W- Belle over Bama

This Picture is titled “Belle over ‘Bama”. I chose this title because my car’s name is Belle and I took this picture overlooking Alabama. I named my car Belle because it means “the prettiest at a certain event”. I took this picture on my Nikon D90. This picture could have been better if the weather had cooperated and gave me more sun instead of clouds and if I had a better angle. I edited this picture by darkening it and adding more color.

Trevion C. - Saturday Morning

The title of this image is “Saturday Morning.” This image was taken on the access road near Hoover High School on a Saturday morning. For this image, I reduced the saturation and decreased the brightness. This image could’ve been by exposing more details on the image.

Rachel G - Spiderweb Daytime

The title of this image is “Spiderweb Daytime.” It was taken on my back porch on a day in September with my Canon EOS Rebel T6i. I edited the photo by blurring out the background a little, sharpening the spiderweb, and increasing the white tones to blue and the brown tones to more orange. I also added some grain to the photo and made the temperature more warm. It could be better if there wasn’t a piece of pine straw stuck in the spiderweb. Even though this picture was taken in September, it kind of reminds me of the beginning of fall and the changing of the seasons.

Morgan H - Bibby

This picture is of my cat, Bibby, from when I first got her. She was so tiny and could basically fit into my palms. She would cuddle with me and sleep on my pillows when I wasn’t there. This picture is of Bibby laying on top of my pillows. I took this picture with my iPhone and edited it by using square crop and added more colors and lightened it and put higher exposure. I think it could be better if it was centered.

Katie N- Afternoons at Tip Top

The title of the picture is, “Afternoons at Tip Top.” It was taken a tip tip a few weeks ago when I went there with my friends to eat a sunset dinner. I took this picture with my Canon camera. I edited it by putting a blue tent on it to give it a purple look.I think I could’ve made it better if I had focused the camera better.

Katie H- Guardian Angel

The title of this photo is “Guardian Angel.” This photo was taken in my house one night as I was about to go to bed. It was taken on my iPhone 7 because I just snapped the pic with my phone as I was walking by. I just edited it by toning down the brightness a little bit and sharpening the photo. It could be a little better if the shadow from the shovel was not present.
