Ken P- No Papparazzi

I called this No Paparazzi because you can tell that this orangutan was having one of those days when everyone including myself was taking pictures of him. It was taken at the zoo with my Iphone 13. I edit the picture by making it blend more. I feel like its perfect the way it is,.

Taylor O- Kids Hospital

Kids hospital. Taken at kids hospital downtown on Feburary 13, 2023. Taken with my phone. I edited this on a desktop computer. I could have cropped it better and lightened the stairs a bit.

Maci J- Turtles all Around

The title of this image is “Turtles all Around”. The original photo of the turtles was taken by a body of water near my home and I took this with my Canon camera. This image was for the kaleidoscope assignment but I made additional adjustments to the colors of the photo to make it look more interesting. I actually used a specific filter from the Nik Collection for this photo. It might have been better if I did a more interesting angle from the og image. Other than that I kinda like this photo. It’s heavily manipulated but I just really like the colors.

Milan S - Giraffes

This picture is called “Giraffes”. This picture was taken at the zoo on April 6th. I took this photo with my phone and I edited by bringing up the light some more to bring out the green and making the sides a little darker to focus more on the giraffes.  I don’t think it could really be better besides cropping the top a little more. Otherwise I like the fact that the Giraffe is looking at the camera.

Evan S- Trip Down Memory Lane

I call this image “Trip Down Memory Lane”. The original photo was taken in my room, but all of it's photos combined were taken all over Hoover and Birmingham. It was taken with my Nikon 3000. I added many images, as well as upping the contrast and color. I think it could use some more depth.

Mohamid S- Birds

The title of this is Birds this was taken at the zoo during the field trip. This photo was taken on my iPhone. I edited this in the Photos app and all I did was adjust the lighting, color, and messed around on the curve.

Courtney L- Combinations

This image is titled “combinations”. This was actually one of my composite assignment pictures that I created by using multiple images and turning it into one image. Majority of these images were taking either downtown or pictures of the tress and sky. These pictures were taking on my phone just in the moment as I saw it. In order to edit this photo I combined all of the pictures together and put a filter ontop of the image and then darkening the image. In my opinion the image could be better if the image had a little more color to the image.

Matthew H - Overseer

The title of this image is “Overseer” because it looks like the flamingo in the foreground is looking out on the flamingos in the background. I took this picture with a Canon Mark II camera on the zoo field trip last week. I edited the picture by cropping, sharpening the flamingo, and  blurring the people in the background. I only made basic brightness, contrast, and coloring adjustments because I liked how the image looked out of the camera. I think this image could’ve been better if I had a zoom lens that could really focus on the flamingo and bring out more details. Overall I am really happy with this shot.

Sophia T- I'm Trippin' Dog

The title of this image is “I’m Trippin’ Dog” (I think it’s quite silly) because it pictures four somewhat translucent pictures of my dog, Luci, turned in different directions to give the impression that the viewer is tripping. This image was one of the 5 pictures I submitted for my kaleidoscope assignment. The image of Luci was taken in my backyard, then overlaid on top of another image of a landscape. I turned the opacity down so that my dog would appear ghost-like. Personally, I wouldn’t change anything about this image.

Will M- Pond Kaleidoscope

The title of this photo is Pond Kaleidoscope. I took this photo during the field trip to the zoo using my camera. I edited the photo so I could use it in the kaleidoscope assignment. I also edited it to make the colors more vibrant and bright. I think it’s a good photo all around without any way to really improve it.

Josmary Lucena T- Finding Peace in Loneliness

This is my friend Sam Sagastume, it was March 25 at Oak Mountain State Park, Pelham. I used my iphone 13 to take the photo, I did not edit it because I did not see that it was necessary to alter the colors or add light to it. I love this photo, it is very beautiful and I would not add anything else.

Kameron P- Reflected On Myself On A Bad Day

The picture was taken inside My car with my iphone 12 Pro and then later made it on my Kaleidoscope photos. I took this picture because there was a really nice Porsche to the left and I said why not just take a picture of it along with the rainy day and dark clouds. I believe the image could be better by maybe doing another version of this but lighter, because I edited by adding a nik collection of course, adding a stroke border, flipping the bottom pictures horizontally to match the top and then changing the colors of the clouds kinda doing a blending mode and then highlight the the dash above the steering wheel with a white powder color.

Peyton K- Bearded Dragon

This photo is called Bearded Dragon. I edited it and up the brightness and saturation. I retouched and use the clone stamp to get rid of thermometers in the background and painted over them. I took this photo with my phone at Petco.

Ryan G- Bucs Lax

Here is a picture of Grayson Collins during the Hoover Bucs Lacrosse preseason. For this picture I mainly just darkened the whole thing and made the sky gray. I also think the picture is ironic because of Grayson normally takes pictures for the team.

Taylor D- Composite

No Statement Provided

Anna Gale H- Aware

This image is called “Aware” because the flamingo was looking at me right when I took the picture. It was taken at the zoo during the field trip. I took it with my iphone. To edit it I brightened the color and cropped it some. To make ir better I think I could get rid of the people that were in the background.

Ahmad J- Endless Horizon

This photo was taken at sunrise on a flight to Florida. It was taken with my iphone pro max. I edited it utalizing the techniques we learned during the kaleidoscope assignment. If the horizon was a bit clearer it would be better but I am satisfied with the result.

Layla Q- Mountain Brook

The title of this image is Mountain Brook, as this is where I was at the time. It was taken on a March 29, a Wednesday, during spring break in the afternoon. It was taken with a Canon PowerShot SX500 IS. I edited it by increasing the color, increasing the exposure, decreasing the brightness and cropping the image to make it more centered. It could have probably been better if I was outside of the car.

Logan S- Lizard Kaleidoscope

The title of this photo is Lizard Kaleidoscope. I took this photo in my front yard during the afternoon. For the editing, I cropped the side of the head, duplicated it four times, and rotated the images to make them look connected. I also changed the brightness and contrast. This image could have been better if I added more saturation.

Emmanuel M - Daisy's

The title of this image is “Daisy’s”, I named it this mainly because I couldn't think of anything else. This image was taken in my backyard on February 27th, and it was taken with my Nikon D5000. I edited it by using the Nik collection vintage filters and putting a few scratched filters. Lastly, I think it would've been better with some sort of old vintage border.

Kate M- Ghost

I named this “Ghost”. It was taken a couple months ago and it's a mixture of a place called The Tunnel and Bryce Hospital. It was taken with my Nikon and I edited it by turning the contrast up and messing with the curves. It could be blended better.

Jeremiah T- Flowers

Flowers, this picture was taken in my grandma's backyard of one of her plants. I took it with my phone and edited this picture by adjusting the light

Kamron Y - Adventure Pup

The title of this image is Adventure Pup. This was taken on an afternoon when I was taking care of my girlfriend's puppy for a bit. This was taken on the Ross Bridge trail next to a creek as you can see in the background. This was taken with my phone which is an iphone 11 mini. I didn't do much to edit it besides trying to bring out the “golden” if you will. The only thing i wish was different is the leash not being in the photo.

Lana Q - Sleepy Flamingo

I named this photo “Sleepy Flamingo” because it is a cute photo of a flamingo sleeping peacefully. I took this photo at the Birmingham Zoo during spring break. I took this photo with my Canon EOS T3 Digital Camera. I turned up the sharpness but did not really do much else. I probably should have cropped it in a little.

Dylan T- Kaleidoscope

I took this photo in Utah over Christmas break. I took it with my iPhone. I edited it with the base Kaleidoscope edit and used a NIK collection filter to darken it a bit. Off the top of my head i cant think of how to improve it but i feel like something could be done to edit it.

Lana Q- Untitled

I took this photo in New Orleans, Louisiana in mid february. I took this photo with my Canon rebel T3 digital camera. I dedicated this picture by turning up the saturation.

Steven L- Through the Fire and Flowers

This was one of the pictures that I turned in for the composite assignment. It has 3 different pictures combined, one pic of a lighter, the other of some flowers, and one pic of clouds. I think it looks pretty cool with the flowers in the background and all of that.
