Tajane C- Melting Brass

I title this image Melting Brass because I am in love with the way the brass looks and all the colors and how they blend and swirl  together as if they were melting`. This image was taken October 6, 2015 at 5:00 which was a great time to capture the lovely balance of sunlight around this time of day. It was taken with my iPhone 6 and I edited it through iPhoto. This picture could have been better by taking it with a real camera so it could have had better details and focus.

Jacob H- Mosquito

The name of this picture is Mosquito, obviously because there is a mosquito on this flower. It was taken a couple weeks ago at the Moss Rock in the Preserve. I took it with my nikon D-90, i added some sharpness and color but other than that i didn’t do much to it. It could be better if it was a little more focused on the mosquito.

Willie R- Young Yellow Hat Fellow

This was taken about a year ago in moss rock it was taken with my Canon eos Rebel 300d i edited it by added exposure, adding layers and blending them, it could be better if Bradley was more in the shot, but i am satisfied with the shot.

Ella P- Across the River

I took this photo over Columbus Day weekend when my parents and I went to New York City. I entitled it “Across the River” because across the Hudson River is New Jersey. I took the photo with my iPhone 6 in Battery Park. I increased the sharpness and highlights in this photo as well as the shadows. i wish I was able to get more of the cityscape in the photo. I really like this photo because of all the colors in the sky and the textures in the water.

Gabi B- Bubbles

This picture is called Bubbles. I took this of my neighbor one time when I was babysitting him. I took this with my Canon Rebel EOS SL1. I edited it by increasing the contrast and sharpness. I also bumped down the temperature. This picture could be better if it wasn’t so green and if it was zoomed out more. I like how much detail is in this picture.

Wes S - Wired

I named this photo wired. It was taken near the Hoover Country Club. It was taken at night towards the end of September. It was taken with a canon rebel. I raised the definition to bring the wires out more and the exposure to make it glow a bit more. It could be better if i got rid of some of the more distracting backgrounds like the trees.

Matthew W- Sharp Door

I named this picture “Sharp Door” because it was a broken window that someone used to get into the building. It was taken at an abandoned country club with my nikon D80. I edited it by changing the level, making it black and white, and cropping it. It could have been better if there was more glass where it was focused so that it would be more interesting to look at.

Dayne M- Flashlight

The title of this image is “Flashlight” because a flashlight is the main light source in the image. It was taken in my driveway a little over a month ago. It was taken with my Nikon D5500 and I edited the image by blackening the background to keep the focus on the outlining of the car. I also increased the saturation and brightness of the image. It could be better if the outline was not so choppy and if the reflections were not on the side of the car. Other than these issues I am happy with the outcome of the image.

Tanner R- Colorful Candles

The title of my picture is named colorful candles. This photo was taken in my house a couple weeks ago. This was taken with my nikon D3300. I edited this photo by darkening the outside of the candle which makes the lights brighter. this picture could be better if used the blemish edit on the white/pink candle. I really like this picture because it shows all the different colors of the candles.

Rebecca S- Up in the Air

This Picture is called Up in the Air. I took this at Pensacola last summer during the Blue Angles air show. I took this with my Nikon Coolpix L320. I Increased the vibrance and saturation and adjusted the curves. One way this image could’ve been better is if the clouds weren’t there so the sky could be completely clear.

Blakely W- Train

I took this picture a few days ago on the railroads at ross bridge. I took this with my camera. I added contrast and definition. I also enhanced the lines on the train. This picture could be better if i got more of the train in it. I like how i got the front of it while it was still moving.

Isaac N.- Daze

I took this picture at the Bessemer Airport, when I got out on the runway. It was sunset and was really nice outside so I decided to take some pictures. I love the silhouette of the trees in it! I edited it by increasing contrast/overall darkness using the levels tool. Then I barely bumped up the saturation, because it was already enough. The one thing I think could make it better was that if it maybe, had a silhouette of a plane flying out in the sky. I think that would be awesome.

Briggs A- A Day At Band

This photo is titled “A Day At Band”. It was taken earlier this week and was at the Band Practice Field. I took this picture with my Galaxy S6 because taking my camera on the field would have been too cumbersome. I did very little editing with this photo. It features my friend Nathan sitting on the field waiting for instruction from Mr.Fitchpatrick. He is sitting in the sun which creates good shadows and you can see the leading lines leading to Nathan. As you can see this was a Candid shot and i feel really good about it

Aania C- Teddy Bear

The title of this image is Teddy Bear. It was taken during the Day and Night assignment at my house. It was taken on my iPhone. To edit it, i brightened it a little, decreased the saturation and the contrast. I could be better if it was a little more balanced.

Annemarie K- Sunset

This photo is called sunset. It was taken the other day at my grandparents house. I took it with my moms iPhone 6. I edited it by enhancing it and adding some saturation and contrast. It could be better if I moved over and got less of the tree in it.

Rajiv P - Grand Canyon

The title of the image is Grand Canyon. This photo was taken in Arizona, over the summer. It was taken with my iPhone 6. I edited it by enhancing the photo, turning the exposure, contrast, and saturation all up. I also turned up the definition and sharpness all the way up. It  could have been better if I took the photo with a camera with better resolution.

Abby U- Caroline

The title of my picture is Caroline. This picture was taken in Ross Bridge next to a bridge. It was taken with a Canon Rebel. I edited this picture using saturation, filters, contrast, and highlights. It could be better if there wasn’t anything in front of her. It would be better also if the all the grass was behind her and she was more focused.

Peyton R- Burning Bright

The title of this image is, “Burning Bright”. I took this about four weeks ago with my Cannon Rebel. To edit this picture, I increased the saturation and the contrast a good bit. There was also a lot of noise in the photograph that I had to remove. I believe this image could have been better if the lighting in the background was different. This image took me a few tries to get the flame from the candle to come out clear.

Lana M- On the Band Bus

This picture was taken on the band bus on a way to a football game on September 12th, 2015. It was taken with my Canon SL1. I used the adjustment layers in photoshop to increase the exposure and brightness. Then I made a curves layer and changed the contrast, after that I added a gradient and decreased the saturation of gradient layer. I wish that I could have gotten more of his face in focus. Also if I could remove the faces and hands in the background and foreground and only captures his face that would have been good. Overall I really like this picture because it was a candid and I was able to take it as the wind blew his hair out of his face and when he was smiling. Sam (the person in the picture) liked it a lot and even made it his profile picture so that made me happy.

Matt H- Fraile Feeder

The title of this image is “Frail Feeder”. I named it this because the butterfly has a damaged wing and appears to be feeding from a flower. This image was taken in my grandmother’s backyard on august 30th 2015. It was shot with a Cannon EOS REBEL T1i camera. To edit the image I cropped tighter on the butterfly and enhanced the image. I also increased the exposure and saturation of the image. The definition, highlights, shadows, sharpness, and temperature were also increased. I think that a shot from the other side of the butterfly and maybe from underneath the butterfly would have resulted in a better image. It was difficult to be able to choose at what angle to shoot the butterfly because it is constantly moving so I was just trying to get lucky. i really like how vibrant the pinks and yellows and blues are in this image. This was one of my favorite pictures from my about me project.

Henry S - mi amor

This picture is titled “mi amor”. This is me and my girlfriend’s hand. We took it on September 19. We both drew half a heart on our hand and took a picture of our hands connecting the heart. To edit it, I increased the exposure and contrast a bit. I don’t know how I could make it better, but if anyone got any ideas, hit me up in the comments.

Grant S- The Swamp

This photo is titled "The Swamp". I took this picture 2 weeks ago at Gainesville, Florida. I took the picture with an Iphone 5c camera. I increased the vibrance, turned up the contrast, and added a bit more brightness to the photo. This photo could've been better if I had centered it to the point where you could read the name of the stadium clearly. I picked this photo because I am a die hard Florida Gators fan.

ReRe H-Passion

The title of my photo is “Passion”. I took this picture 2 weeks ago in my bedroom. I took this photo with an Fujifilm FinePix S8600. I increased the exposure , contrast and saturation up. I also turned the temperature down. This photo could have been better if I used the rule of thirds to make sure the picture is even all around. The reason I picked this photo was because I love music and it means a lot to me.

Grant S- Downtown Birmingham

The title of my photo is “Downtown Birmingham”. It was taken last year on Veteran’s Day when I was on my way to a Veteran’s Day parade. I took it with my iPhone 4s. I made the picture cooler, sharper, and added some contrast. It could be better if I had maybe taken the picture in front of the fence. I am happy with how it came out.

Samuel C- Lego Statue of Liberty

  • This was taken at the River chase Galleria on August 31, 2015
  • It was taken with a Nikon D40X camera
  • I edited it by brightening up the image and removing some dots left on the photo by the camera
  • I could have straightened the image up a bit more either by holding my hands steadier or by using a tripod and used the flash on my camera at the time to have a consistent light source across the photo

Briggs A- Caged

This was taken at my house recently. This was taken with my Kodak easy share Z710. I edited this photo with iPhoto editing. Through this I changed the contrast and the overall brightness of the photo. This picture could have been better if I had gotten him to go and run around.

Trey D- My Baby

I titled this picture My baby. I took this picture at my house in the dining room last summer. I took it with a Polaroid. I adjusted the the brightness, increase the saturation and contrast. There is nothing else that can make this picture better.

Daniel M- "328i"

This photo is called “328i”. I took this photo in a parking lot last week. I took it with my D40. To edit this photo i turned the exposure down. I think I shouldn’t have taken it so low to the ground.

Areez L- Untitled

This photo was taken outside of my friends house in the morning last year, and it was taken with my phone. I edited this photo by enhancing the image and adjusting the highlights and shadow settings. I think I could’ve made this photo better by taking it from a different angle where more amiable light is present.

Briley S- Land of the Free

This photo is titled ‘Land of the Free’ because the American flag represents our country and the fifty states that make up the USA. I took this picture a few weeks ago in the courtyard after lunch with my Samsung SL720. i turned the sharpness way up and increased the saturation. this picture could be better if there were some clouds in the sky or  some trees in it.

Nicole T- Lilac Sky

The name of this picture is Lilac Sky. It was taken on August 23, 2015  and it was taken from a car as we were driving past a forest area. I took this picture with a Canon Powershot Sx 150 IS. I edited this picture on iPhoto using the Antique filter, the Fade filter, and the Boost filter. I also used Cooler, set the exposure to .91, contrast to -36, saturation to 55, set the definition to 58, highlights to 80, shadows to 37, sharpness to 42, de-noise to 58, temperature to -49, tint to -81, and I cropped it. It could be better if the trees were less dark.

Riley Y - Balance

I called this photograph Balance, because I think it fits well with the principle of balance. It was taken in Mentone, Alabama on August 2. When I edited this picture, I turned up the saturation, definition, highlights, sharpness, and temperature. I think it could be better if there was more light on the cliff in the center of the picture.

Oryieon M - Ink Pen

The title of this pictures is called ink pen. It was taken in my history class about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I took it with my iPhone 4s. Their isn’t any edits on the picture.Im not sure how it could have been better.

Rebecca S- McWay Falls

The title of this image is McWay Falls and this is of McWay Falls in Big Sur, California. This was taken the summer of my freshman year. I took this with my Nikon Coolpix L320 and i edited it by increasing the contrast, definition, and temperature and decreasing the exposure. One way this could be better is if it was taken on a tripod so there wasn’t any camera shake because the trees are a little blurry.

Wes S- Untitled

It was taken in Atlanta, Georgia at the braves game on July 17th I took this picture with my iPhone
I edited it by raising exposure, contrast saturation and I also raised shadow effect. I think it could be better if i used a better quality camera to begin with. This is the amount of wiring that goes into wiring a broadcast for an Atlanta braves game.

Josh C- Little Forest

This photo was taken in my house earlier this month (September of 2015) for the recent about me assingment. I used a Cannon Powershot ELPH to take this shot. This photo has little edits other then some adde definition and increased shadows using the editor in iPhoto. The edits make the picture way more enjoyable to view as it makes it seem more like a over head shot of a erotic forest then a close up of a flower pot. It would be better if I had a tripod to better stabilize the shot however the shot is still pretty fine.

Blakely W- Coca-Cola

I took this in my room on a shelf. This was taken a few weeks ago for the about me project. I took it against my blue wall and on my camera. I edited this by adding contrast, saturation, sharpen, and added definition. I think this picture would be better if I cropped it the other way and did the full bottle.

Gabi B- July 4th

The title of this picture is July 4th. I took this picture on the fourth of July this summer at the Hoover Met. I took it with my iPhone 5c and edited it by increasing the saturation and contrast and also changed the tint.
This picture could be better if you could see what the background was instead of just seeing black.I like this picture because you can see the shadows and smoke of the Firework.

Sydney G- Happy

The title of this image is Happy. This was taken in my room a couple of weeks ago. I edited this picture by brightening it. It could be better by the angle.

DejonF- Appetite for Destruction

The title of the image is called “Appetite for Destruction”
This photo was taken in my living room on September 2nd.
This photo was taken with my Cannon PowerShot SX130 IS
This photo could be better if there wasn’t the car seat and the stroller in the back ground.

Matthew W.- Weekend Warrior

I named this photo “Weekend Warrior” because I took it on a weekend vacation with my friend up in Mentone Alabama. I took this photo about 2-3 hours before sunset with my Nikon D80, and I did not edit it. I could have made this picture better by focusing more on the first foot.

Zack C- "Some Grass"

This picture’s subject is some rained-on grass and dirt outside the barn at out old farm a few weeks ago. We had gone there to bring back an old truck left there. Luckily, I didn’t have to move it, the people who did took a a long time, and I had brought my camera. I took this with my Fujifilm S5 Pro SLR with a Nikon Macro Lens. I took a lot of pictures that day, but this is my favorite of the bunch. I just love to look at all the detail. When editing this picture, I wanted a realistic, believable look that also permitted the most beautiful possible. If I edited it too much, it would cartoony of fake, and I didn’t want that, so I spent a lot of time on this one. I lowered the contrast a little and raised both the exposure and saturation slightly. I put the definition and highlight detail at about half and the sharpness all the way up (why not?) I also lowered the temperature a little and tinted it slightly green just to get the most out of the colors. This, as I said before, is probably my favorite picture I took that day, maybe ever, so I can say, with full honesty in my heart, there isn’t anything I want to change about this picture; I really like it, but I am interested to hear any suggestions you may have!

Chloe j- Lookout

I named this photo “Lookout” This was taken at the Vulcan this summer. It was taken with my canon xsi. I edited it by charged the tint to more of a green/yellow, and using the enhancement tool. It could be better if I worked harder on editing it, other than that I am happy with the outcome of this picture.

Peyton R- Near Post

I took this photo over the summer, at the soccer field next to the met. I took this photo with my Cannon Rebel. To edit this photo, I decreased the temperature to give the photo a cooler look. I also increased the definition and the exposure. I am very happy with the results of this photo considering it was the first ever photo that I edited.

Bradley C- Lucky

I named this photo “lucky”, this was taken at my house in my room around last Christmas. I took it with a Nikon D7000, I like the original picture. Its dark enough and plus I like it original.

Eric H- Orange Sky

The name of my photo is “Orange Sky”, it was taken in Destin, Florida last Christmas break. I took this with my iPhone. I edited it by making it warmer and adding saturation. I think it could be better if it was sharpened in more.

Maison R- HHI, SC

I took this picture on vacation when I went to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina with my iPhone 6. I edited it by increasing the contrast, saturation, and highlights.  Also, I decreased the shadow and noise. To make it better I could have made the biggest tree more towards the right. I like how all the colors in the picture really pop.

Alena D- Little Boy Eating Grapes

The photo is a statue of a little boy eating grapes. This photo was taken over the weekend and this statue was on my back porch. It was taken with my camera,a Canon EOS Rebel T5. The only thing I did to the photo was turn a little brightness up to add some affect to the boys face but I liked how it turned out. I also like how you can see all the details to the statue. I honestly think that I could have angled it better and added like saturation or made it feel like it was back in the old days.

Tanner R- Sunset

The title of my picture is sunset.  This picture was taken at Tip Top Grill on August 22, 2015. I edited this picture by increasing the the definition, highlights, shadows, sharpness, and the de-noise.  My picture could be better by making the colors contrast a little more. I like this picture because it shows how many different colors are in the sky.

Megan S- Car Ride

This picture was taken in my friends 1985 Mercedes Station Wagon. I took this a few weeks ago whenever we were driving around. I edited it by cropping it and putting the antique filter on it. It could be better if it weren’t so blurry.
