Drew B- Sunset

The title of the image I chose is called sunset. I took the photo in Key West at sundown. I took the photo with my iphone. I edited this photo with the quick selection tool. I divided it up in the parts and made some parts darker towards the bottom and lighter in the middle and top. I don't know how it could be better, it definitely could, I just don't know how. This is also my favorite photo i've ever taken.

Emma J - Dying Leaves

The title of my submitted image is called dying leaves. The photo was taken on November 23rd, on a hiking trail in Helena. The photo was captured with a Canon T6 and was edited using the photoshop app on my phone. I wish it would have turned out more colorful, however I still like it a lot.

Abigail P-Alone

This picture is called Alone. I took this picture with my phone a year ago on the beach when I was in Jacksonville, Florida. I edited this picture by increasing the exposure, brilliance, and contrast of the picture. I really wanted the broken shells in the sand and the bird to stand out. I also decreased the brightness and highlights so the color of the dark sand and ocean would stand out  and give the picture a rainy day feel. I wish I had had held my phone a little more steady when I took the picture because it is a little grainy. I really like this picture because it brings back happy memories of being on the beach and taking the picture.

MADELINE R- Black & White

This image is called Black & White. This image was taken in my parents shower last weekend. I took this photo with my Nikon camera and we used an antique lamp to eliminate the shower. I edited this photo black and white and changed the contrast and the exposure a lot. I think that this image could be better by having more contrast between the black and white coloring. I like how the shower wall looks in this image.

REGAN F- Forever and Always

This picture I have chosen is titled “Forever and Always”. I took this picture last week at the Old Town Helena Park. I took this photo with my canon camera and decided to edit this picture very slightly by only adding a little light enhancement and an increase in radius and strength under the vignette tab. I wish the words were a little easier to see and read but otherwise I like this picture.

Julie H- Pink flower

The title of this image is Pink Flower. It was taken in my front yard in the morning. The image was taken with my phone with the sun as the light source. To edit the image I turned up vibrance and saturation to make the pink in the flower pop. I also blurred the background of the image to keep the focus on the flower. Lastly, I cropped the image so this would be the only flower included in the image. I think to make the image better I should have made the leaves below the flower more green so it does not look so dark. This was the last living flower in these bushes because winter is coming.

Allie S- Bright Flowers

This photo was taken on September 6th at my church, Mountaintop Community Church. This photo was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel XS and a 18-55 mm lense. I edited this photo by taking down the brilliance and exposure. I brought up the brightness and saturation and then used the selective color to bring up the saturation and bring down the luminance of the pink colors in the photo. I also brought up the strength, radius, and softness of the vignette. I think it could be a little more clear. I think there’s a tiny bit of camera shake. I also think I could have probably got a better angle. I really like this image because the color really pops and brings a pop of color to the world around it.

Dominique W- The Sky

I named the photo The Sky. It was taken outside my front yard. I took this my iPhone. I used the Apple Photos editor to make it black and white. I could have made better is I had made it darker and lighter in some places.

Yori D- Pink

The name of my image is called Pink. My photo was taken in the courtyard at school in my 7th period class. My photo is of branches and it has one small pink flower on it. I edited my photo by making the whole photo black and white, but brought back the color of the flower. A way I could make my photo better is working on the flower a little bit more, but overall I like it.

Luke F- Bright Shells

The name of this image is Bright Shells. I named it this because it is sea shells that are lit up. This picture was taken November 4, 2020 at my grandparents house. This picture was taken with a Nikon D60. I edited this picture by playing with the brightness and contrast. I think this image could be better if the wire that sticks up wasn’t in the image. It is hard to realize but once you see it you don’t forget.

MILES M- Power Line Reflection

My image is called Power Line Reflection, I took it at Black Creek Mountain Park. I took it with my phone, and I edited it by cropping it. I could edit it up more a clear up the photo.

Logan W - Vine

I’ll call his image “Vine”. I took this about mid day in my backyard. I took this image with a Canon 20D. There were a lot of black specs in the blue area and I just retouched each individual one so that I could keep the leaves clear and still remove the specs. I also decreased the brightness slightly then used the photoshop auto color feature, and this was the final result. I’m very proud of how it came out. I probably could have found a more efficient way to get rid of the specs though.

Redezel L- Senior Halloween Night

I took this photo at the gym of our school, Hoover High School, during our senior halloween night. I edited the photo through cropping, adjusting the brightness, contrast, and saturation. I think it would be better if fixed the background and took what she’s holding so I wouldn't crop it out. This is a photo of my close friend, Isadelyn, on her MnM outfit of that night.

Ella K- Easter Egg Hunt

The title of this picture is “Easter Egg Hunt.” This was taken in my backyard around 2 weeks ago. I named it Easter Egg because it looks like there is a blue easter egg hidden in the background and the colors remind me of Easter. It was taken with a Canon Powershot SX 40. To edit it, I increased the vibrance and brightness of the colors. I also used the spot healing brush to erase some of the dirty, brown spots on the vase. To make the picture better, I think I could have taken the picture from farther out. I think it would have allowed the picture to be more clear and allow the viewer to really see what was going on.

Myke E- The Purple Flower

This photo was taken the day of October 27, 2020 at Hoover High School. This was a stop by and take photo with my iPhone 11, because I did not have my camera with me sadly. I used two layers for this. I used the selection tool to outline the flower then added a black background with a slight light overlay affect at the top. To make it better I could have brought the opacity down in the background.

Drew B- Candle

My image is named candle. I took this photo in my room after school before work. I took this photo with my Nikon DSLR. I edited where it made the candle darker I also made the colors more vibrant. I think if I edited it in photoshop and knew how to use that more I could have made it definitely better but I think it's good where I have it. This was my favorite because It just looked the best out of them.

EMMA J - SMOKE ON THE WATER

This photo is called Smoke on the Water, named after the song of course, and was taken on September 27th of 2020. I took the image at Ross Bridge Historical Parkand was captured with a Canon T6 camera. I edited it by changing the image to black and white, increased the darkness and decreased highlights, while increasing the clarity of the image greatly. I took the image of my good friend Caden, who was sitting above me when I took it. We had a candle and blew it out in order to get the smoke, with the help of another friend. I believe that the way the image is now is perfect to my liking and I would not do anything to edit it further.

Ila H - Galaxy

My photograph is called “Galaxy.” It was taken last February in my bedroom with my iPhone XS. I took this photo in my makeup mirror because it has color changing lights. I used purple lighting to match the galaxy themed makeup I had done. I edited the photo by using a square crop and increasing the brilliance, saturation, and contrast. The picture could have been less blurry if I had more even lighting, but other than that, I like the way it came out. I was very proud of this makeup look and I love the photographs I took of it.

Javier T- Lucid Dream

The title of this photo is Lucid Dream. The photo was taken at Oak Mountain State Park when the sun was going down. The photo was taken with my iPhone XS Max. I edited with the mac on the photos app. It could be better if there were people walking down in the streets.

ERIK S- Canyon Panorama

The title of the image that I chose is named “Canyon Panorama” which, like the name describes, is a photo that I took of The Grand Canyon over the Summer of 2018, which I took using a panorama setting to get the full shot of the entrance to the canyon. I took this with my Google Pixel XL, and edited it with Photoshop. In Photoshop, I increased the vibrance of the greens (of the vegetation) and blues (of the sky). Then, I had used the quick selection tool to only select the actual canyon part, and saturated the warm color inside the canyon. I feel like this image could be better if I had gone inside The Grand Canyon 9I wasn’t able to on the trip) and taken a photo looking up and out of the Canyon (for a good perspective effect).

Ella F- Owen

This photo is called Owen because it is a picture of my brother, Owen. It was taken in the afternoon just down the street from our house. It was taken with my Canon 60D camera. I edited this photo by increasing the saturation and making some of the dark spaces lighter.  I like the way this photo turned out, but I wish that you could see the color of the sky better.

Linley W- Old Barn

This picture is titled Old barn. It was taken at Old Baker Farm in Harpersville, Al. I took this picture roughly one to two weeks before Halloween. This picture was taken with my Nikon D5200 camera. I edited this picture by increasing the contrast, saturation, and made the overall image sharper. I also decreased the highlights and changed the hue to a more reddish color. This could have been better if the barn was more in the center left. I really like how this picture turned out.

Mary B- Monday Night Sunday

This photo is titled “Monday Night Sunday”. I took this photo on a Monday night on my desk in my room. I used a lamp I had on my desk for light. I took this photo on my Canon camera. To edit this photo I adjusted the color balance by turning up the pinks and blues and turning down the yellows. I also cropped the image so that the ice cream would be off center. This picture could be better if It had less light on the ice cream. It is a little over exposed.

Bess H --Sunset at Grayton Beach

This photo is called Sunset at Grayton Beach and it was taken on October 26, 2020. This photo is a sunset at a beach called Grayton. I took this photo with a Canon 4000D. I have been going to Grayton Beach ever since I was a little girl, so this beach means a lot to me. I always go to this beach with my family and I have so many great memories about Grayton. I dialed up the brightness and the contrast. I also deepened the hue/saturation along with the color balance. I would have liked to have gotten more of the sun in my image, but overall I really liked the image.

Tabitha S- Waterfalls

The name of this picture is Old town Helena waterfalls. I took this picture in Old town Helena when my grandmothers were visiting. I also took it with my phone because I forgot my camera at home, and I edited it on my phone and on the school computer. To make this better I could have used a tripod.

Abigail P-Let the be Light

This picture was taken at my house in my bedroom. I took it at night which highlights the color of the flame. I took this picture with a Canon Elph 180 camera. I increased the brightness, exposure, and vibrance on picture, but increased the offset as well. This allowed for the background to be darker, but make the candle light brighter, highlighting the light and bringing attention to it. I also increased the yellow and blue hue to bring out the color of the flame and the candle holder. I wish I would have cropped the picture a little more so there was less of the extra black in the background. This picture is one of my favorites because the candle light and its contrast with the background is calming and makes me feel a sense of peace whenever I look at it.

Madison R - Giraffe

This photo was taken at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans on November 1st. This photo was taken with my Nikon D3400 camera using a 70-300mm Zoom lens. I edited this photo by bringing up the Brilliance and the Saturation and bringing down the Highlights and the Contrast. I think this photo could have better lighting that better frames the Giraffe’s face.

Anna D- Double Happiness

My title of my photo is called “double happiness” and I named it that because I took it the day of a double rainbow and I feel like rainbows make people happy and since there were two I thought it was “double happiness”. I took this in the parking lot of The Whole Scoop and Santos a couple weeks ago when a big hurricane came through and left behind a beautiful rainbow. I took it on my phone at the time when the rainbow was out. I edited it to make the sky look a little dark and the ground to make the rainbow pop out as pretty colors. I think to make it better I could edit the light post out of the way, other than that this is one of my favorite new pictures I have taken and edited.

Dalton D - Halloween Sky

The title of this image is Halloween Sky. I took this photo right outside of a friend's house as we went to go Trick-or-treating on Halloween. I took the photo with my Pixel 3a XL. The way I would have edited this image if I had the chance would be to increase the brilliance, decrease the shadows by just a hair, decrease the exposure, but just barely, and decrease the highlights. One way I think it could be better is if the lights on the houses were dimmer so the sky could have more of the focus.

Shae M-Bright Green

The name of this image is Bright Green. I chose this name because the plants are very vibrant, and the leaves are bright green. This photo was taken in my Mom’s garden on September 1st. I used my Nikon D3500 to take this photo. When I edited this photo I brightened the color and played with the contrast. I also increased the definition of the photo so you could really see all of the details. It could be better because I could have taken it at a different angle and included less of the wall behind it. Overall I really enjoy this photo, and it was fun taking it.
