John W- Fly Guy

The title of my picture is “Fly Guy” because I like his style and the way he carries himself at such a young age and I thought it would be nice to capture it. This is a picture of my cousin, he’s very photogenic and I used him as a muse for this assignment.

Mitchell R.- Beautiful Beast

This is a photo of my dog, it was taken two weeks ago at my house. I took this picture with my Rebel. The only thing I edited was a spot on her paw. To make this picture better I could have edited more such as the color saturation.

Darius H- Tinted Portrit

No statement provided.

Semahj R- Leaves

This picture is called leaves in the wind i named it that because i took a picture of a tree and it was windy and i took it in my backyard i took this with a canon s and i took it with a zoom lens (25-300) this picture isn’t really my best pictures but i took it and i made a really cool photoshop of it on my Desktop at home so the original is not that fine but i like what i did with it

Tyler L- Night Lens

I call this photo Night Lens. I took this in my front yard on a school night for our Day and Night Assignment. I took this shot with my Nikon D3300. I edited by increasing the contrast and cropping the street light in the background out. I think it could be better if I spent more time editing it by specifically darkening the background more.

Skylar J - Kori

The title of this image is called Kori. It was taken about 2 weeks ago at California Pizza Kitchen. It was taken with my iPhone 6s camera. First I edited it by turning it black and white, but then I used color tinting to recolor the image after turning it black and white. It could’ve been better if I would’ve put a little more background in the picture. I really like this picture because Kori is very important to me and it took me a while to get a still picture of her smiling.

Madelyn W- Sunpeak

This photo was taken in downtown Helena one day after school. It was taken with a Canon Rebel t5. To edit this photo I brought up the contrast to really bring out the colors in the sun and the bright green color of the tree. It could be better if I got more of the sun and not so much of the trees. When I took this photo I was taking senior pictures for my sister and I just loved how the sun was shining through the trees.

Taylor D- Sunlight

I called this picture sunlight because of the rays showing up on the picture. I took this picture outside in a parking lot a few weeks ago. For this picture, I saturated the colors to make them a little more brighter.  I let down the contrast to bring out the rays from the sun. I could’ve taken this from a different angle but other than that I really like this photo.

Mark A- Dog

This is a picture of my dog, his name is Buddy. This was taken in September with my iPhone. I like this picture because its a nice profile of my dog. I warmed this up a little bit and cropped in. I think this picture would have been better if it was taken outside during the day.

Olivia H- Brother

This is a Photo of my brother. I took this photo when I was at the doctors office. I took this photo because we were talking about his freckles and I figured it would be a good picture. I took this photo with my iPhone. To edit it I made it black and white and sharpened his facial features. It could be improved by having equal lighting on both sides.

Ryan G - Dab

This photo is titled “Dab” because of the little man on my hat dabbing. I cut myself out and mad the back ground black and white. I enhanced the color on me and my body. I took this photo a few weeks ago at the mall.

Sophia J.- Plant Eater

I took this photo at the botanical garden in August 2016. It was taken with my Nikon cool pix camera. I darken, enhanced, and saturated the image. The subject could have been better lighting.

Lindsey F- Photo Blog #2

The title of this image Photoblog #2 and it was taken outside my house on October 23, 2016. The image was taken with a Nikon-40. I edited it by putting a black and white filter on it and enhancing it. It could be better if it wasn’t so zoomed in.

Jack S- Grant

This photo is titled “Grant”. It was taken in the studio in class on Mr. Rigsby’s camera. I used Photoshop to edit the image and touch up some blemishes. I think it would look good with a black and white filter.

Maddi S- Mac

This photo was taken downtown in a color tunnel with my Cannon Rebel T3i. The photo is called Mac. I edited this photo in photoshop. I enhanced the brightness a little bit and contrasted it then toned down the saturation.

Joey B- Tinted of Magge

This is image is titled Tinted of Maggie. It is a hand colored formal portrait of my sister, Maggie. I took this on October 16 in front of a door at my house. I used a Canon EOS Rebel T5 to take this photo. I used the patch tool to remove some blemishes from her face. I then converted it to black and white and hand tinted it. This photo would be better if she had been sitting on a stool without a back, or in front of a different colored background because there is not much contrast between the color of the chair and the door.

Jasmine C- Owl Lamp

I took this photo in my living room for the day and night assignment. I really like the lighting and the angle and the way it glows. Though I think if it was sharper and more focused it would look so much better.

Tristan B- Lake

This picture was taken at Star lake in Hoover. The only thing I did to this picture was cropped it a little.

Chris W- Tayla Offguard

This was on October 25 this one of my new friends Tayla. She is cool and funny. She didn’t know I was taking it until I showed her lol but it was off guard for our upcoming project with editing pictures. This was taken in our Art class during 4th period and I never edited it but I put a little more light to it when I took the picture and I don’t see anything wrong with it but I could put some touch to it to make it even better. It was Taken with my camera for this class.

Lily D- No Parking

This picture was taken Last Sunday in Downtown Birmingham on Morris Ave. It was taken with a Canon XTI. I edited by putting a black and white layer on it and turing up the blue ad pink tints on it. It could be better if it was more centered and if my brother was standing more in the center of the sign.

Sam R- Color

This is called Color.  Reflections are pretty cool sometimes and this has colors that make it feel warm and cool but in a well colored not too color-full way. Although the colors that are there are pretty bright, it has darks that make it have depth, so that’s good. I like it.

Will H-Trees

The name of this picture is called Trees. This picture was taken outside of my house there a big tree that hangs near my house and the sun is usually right behind it because its so high. I tried to use the sun in this picture with the green of the leaves and I used the sharpness and I used the shutter speed to make it brighter when I took this picture. I took this picture with my cannon Rebel T5

Maci H. - Ground Up

The image I am submitting to the photo blog is “Ground Up”. I took this during the day on September 28th in my backyard. The picture was taken with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7. I used Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 to edit this picture by raising the saturation and exposure. This picture could have been better if I had focused on a better area of the tree.

Matthew G.-Transflective

The title of my image is called Transflective. I took this picture on my back porch into the screening door. I did a little saturation boost and nothing more. I took this with my nikon D3300. I could have made it a little less busy but thats ok. Focusing more on my camera would have been better.

Mahita T- Manhattan

I took this picture last summer on Jersey Island right in front of of the Manhattan skyline. I took this panorama with my old samsung galaxy s4 phone. I edited this picture of VSCO. I added more hue and saturation to the picture. I also made it sharper and added more definition. I think this picture could have been better if i took this panorama from another angle so that the skyline would look better.

Kristie M.- Pink Hibiscus

This image is called “Pink Hibiscus”. I took it on my Nikon camera outside of my hotel room when my family went to Florida this summer. I edited the image by increasing the brightness, cropping part of the left side to follow the Rule of Thirds, and increased the saturation. This image could have been better if I had not gotten too close and made the subject take up the majority of the image.

Lesly M - Forest

It was taken last month in a secret spot near oak mountain state park. It was taken with my iPhone 6s. All I did was crop the picture a little and I added more color to it. It could be better if I have taken the picture horizontally in my opinion. I just usually prefer my pictures that way. But the way the picture was taken is good for this image because it gives you more of what is around, gives you more to look at.

Emily B - Light Hearts

I took this picture on my Nikon D3200 one night in my sister’s room. I titled it “Light Hearts”. When I took this, it was late one night when I was showing my sister this cool new technique by slowing down the shutter speed and using an iPhone camera flashlight to draw pictures. I did not edit this much but I made the background a little darker than the original, to enhance the light. It could be better if it were in a better setting. I really enjoy this picture.

DeVaun J- Condiments

The name of the picture is Condiments. I took it August 20, 2016 when I was  at Waffle House with my mom. I did a lot of filter editing on this picture and i cropped it slightly. It could be better if I hadn’t sharpened it so much . I named it Condiments because its a picture of the condiments they leave a every table.

Cameron S- Anna

This picture is called Anna and I took this with my Nikon D5300 and I edited this by boosting the contrast and messing around with the brightness and curves. I think the picture could be better if my friends legs weren’t in it and if there was a better background.

Mackenzie J- Fine Dinin

This image was taken in Rhode Island about two years ago. I took this photo with a Canon Rebel. It was edited by using a filter from the VSCO app on my phone. The picture itself could be better by being more centered and including more of the glass and the dressing either side of the dish.

Everett M - Ceramic Cross

The title of the image that I selected is titled as “Ceramic Cross.” I took this picture a few weeks ago in my room for the “Name with Pictures” assignment. I took this picture using the camera that I use to take all of my pictures, the Lumix 25 mm SLR camera. I took edited this picture by first applying a black and white layer to it. After applying the black and white layer, I increased the contrast and brightness on the picture slightly. After enhancing the photo a little bit, I used the black brush on the layer in order to have color show up. However, I only colored in the floral patterns on the cross. In all honesty, I feel as if there isn’t too much that could be improved, but if I had to choose something, I should have tried preventing any shadows from showing up on the background in order to maintain a consistent tone and texture.

Satura D.- Selfie

This photo, Selfie, was taken in the studio of Charity Kent and Sanjay Amos. This was taken with the camera in the studio currently. I only edited the saturation slightly. I wish would had a light background.

Yash M- Sunrise

I named this picture Sunrise since it is a picture of the sunrise. It was taken off my porch at around 6 AM when the sun rose. I edited it buy turning the saturation up and increasing the vibrance. I also cropped it into just the horizon. I took it with my phone. It could have been better if I was able to decrease the noise, especially in the purple area.

Maddy F- Buffalo

I call this picture “Buffalo”. I took it in Wyoming with my Nikon D7000. I cropped the picture a little bit and adjusted the horizon line slightly. I still the the picture could’ve been a little straighter, and I would have liked to have the buffalo facing me, but I worked with what I had.

Reid B- Night Chimes

This picture was taken on September 26, 2016 in my backyard. This picture was taken at night. I took this picture with a Cannon Rebel xsi. I edited this picture by making the background back and white and bringing out the colors on the wind chimes through saturation. To make this picture better I could have cropped out the right side of the picture better. This picture was used for the night and day assignment.

Asil H- Sarah

I titled this image as Sarah. I took this picture on Oct 23 at Starlake. I took this picture with my Nikon D3200. I edited this picture by cropping it, working on HDR toning, and by brining the brightness/contrast up. This picture could be better if I had taken it from a different angle.

Ava W- Syd

This is a picture I took of my friend Sydney on top of a parking deck downtown. It was getting dark and for some reason I just didn’t want to use the flash so I decided to take the picture using the light on the wall. I like this picture because this was a fun night that was completely unplanned. If I could change one thing I would have focused more on Sydney because it is a little blurry.

Julia M- Butterfly

This picture is called “Butterfly”. This picture was taken with my Nikon D30. This picture was taken outside of Miami Florida while I was visiting some relatives. I had to be super stealthy because I was chasing around this butterfly for a couple mins until I could keep it somewhere long enough to take a nice picture. I edited it by cropping and adding a hint more color to really add to the contrast between the butterfly and background. It could have been better if it were a different butterfly with more color and I could have recolored it but it was so naturally pretty on its own I left it be.

Heath M- Hoover Views

The title of his image is called “Hoover Views” and was taken at the Preserve last week at around 4:30. I took this picture with my Canon EOS 40D. I edited this picture by using the tools: Spot Healer, Brightness and Contrast, Cropping, and by messing around with the Curves in Photoshop. I believe that this photo could have been better if I used Curves more and outlined the model.

Ashley H- Dixie

The title of my photo is my dogs name, Dixie. This was taken at my house during the beginning of the year. It was taken with a nikon camera. I turned the contrast up and the brightness down. I also turned the saturation up a little bit and I blurred out the edges of the photo. This picture could be a lot better if there was not a shadow over my dogs face.

Emily D- The Man

This photograph was take at LSU’s campus near the Middleton Library, I took this photo when I was at a camp last year. Each day we walked through the tunnel and I appreciated the way the light changed throughout the day. On my final day at camp I took this with my iPhone 6 and edited it with VSCOcam, wish I had my t5i with my so the quality of the image would be better. Now that I know photoshop I would use the ruler tool to straighten this tool because it seems a little off. My favorite thing abut this photograph is the person at the very end of the tunnel.

Alli J- Periwinkle Flowers

This picture was taken at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham, AL. These Flowers caught my eye by there bright periwinkle colored petals. They just really stood out and i thought they were so pretty and took a pic using, the back camera of my iPhone 6.

Alyssa R- Balboa

The title of the image is ‘Balboa” It was taken last Summer on a trip back home to California at our beach house. It was taken with my Cannon Rebel and I edited i by boosting the saturation and cooling the colors down. It could be better by lighting it up in some areas and actually focusing tighter on my subject. This picture reminds me of how my family would always be at this house and always go out in the water. It was always very relaxing and I definitely ,its it.

Seen B- Esther

I took this photo at my Grandma’s about a week ago. I took this with my iPhone and I somewhat liked the quality of the photo but it could have been better.
