Sara W- Star Lake

The title of this photo is Star Lake. I took this couple weeks ago for the reflection assignment. I took this with a Nikon D4s. I took this at night and exposed it for 30 seconds while I lit it with a big flashlight. The sky is really blurry but theres nothing you can do it about it but other than that I like this picture.

Nick G- Sparks

I titled this “Sparks” because there are sparks all in the picture. I took this at night in an abandoned area in Hoover for the color assignment. I took this with a canon SX1500IS by using steel wool and a long exposure. To edit I just adjusted the brightness, contrast and exposure. To be better I would retake it and try to have more of the fire in the frame and less of the ground. I am overall happy with the way it turned out.

Hannah W- Leaf in the Window

The title of this image is “Leaf in the Window”. I took this photo the weekend before Thanksgiving. It was taken with my Nikon D-3100. I edited it by making the background black and white and making certain raindrops the regular color to show the leaf’s reflection. I could improve the image if I had taken the picture without the blur on left side.

Michael P- Pick Up

I call this picture 'Pick UP' the reason i call it that is me and my buddy Drew set this up one day after we got done hitting! I edited this a little.I think the picture could have been a little bit better.

Kerry M- Sunset

The photo I chose for the 4th PhotoBlog entry is called “Sunset.” I took this a couple weekends ago for the reflection assignment on my front porch. I took it with my nikon. To edit this I raised the saturation and vibrance. I also used the shadows and highlights option. It could be better if you couldn’t see the house in the background.

Grace H- Reflection

I took this photo a few weeks ago for my reflection assignment in photography. I took this photo at my neighbors pool using my canon t3i. I edited this photo with photoshop. I first adjusted the hue then I played with the vibrance. I wanted to add a lot of vibrance because i thought it made the tree reflection pop out. For the last touch I just adjusted the color balance to red because it added more color. I like this photo because of the reflection mostly and the leaves in the water. I think this could have been better if I lowered the exposure. Please feel free to gov constructive criticism about my work. thank you!

Brianna S- Shine

I titled this image shine. I took this last year when I was at the beach. I took this with my Nikon D3100. I edited it by adjusting the brightness, contrast, saturation, and cropping it. It could be better if the sun wasn’t so bright so that it would be less of a blur.

ZohraP- Can't Fly

This picture was taken when I went to the Zoo. this was taken with my sony cyber shot camera. I edited it by putting a lot of brightness, contrasting it and making it a bit dark in the background. This picture could’ve been better if I lowered the brightness a bit on the storks body and face.

Sydnie M- Walkway

The title of my image is “Walkway”. It was taken on the grounds outside of the Baltimore house in Asheville, North Carolina. I snapped this picture with my iPhone. I edited it by making the shadows more prominent. It shapes the picture better that way. I think it could be better by having the image sharpened, showing more details within it.

Ashley B- Fire Line

i took this image for our night and day assignment earlier this semester. I laid out several candles in a row and lit them all, then placed flowers down the line as well. i took several shots from different angles of this, but i liked this one the best. I took it with my nikon digital camera. i think it could’ve been better if i had gotten a better view of the flowers, but overall it’s decent.

Cierah S-Street Art

The title of this image is Street Art, it was taken over Thanksgiving break while i was in Miami. All i idid to edit this was boost the saturation and sharpen it. It could be better if i was maybe at a better angle.

Amber S-Cactus

I took this picture in my kitchen a couple of weeks ago for the color assignment. I took it with my digital camera and edited it with iPhoto. I lightened the overall picture and also increased the contrast. I decreased the shadows and lessened the shadows as well. I think I could have made the lighting better when I took the picture and also focused the picture a little well.

Kate M.-Saintlike

The title of this image is “Saintlike”. I took this over Thanksgiving Break at the Birmingham Art Museum. I took it with my Canon Rebel t3. To edit this picture I adjusted the contrast and brightness and I cropped the image so that the windows are off center. I also made the image more saturated and vibrant. This picture could have been better if I had gotten a better view of the cross in the corner.

Maria F- Secret Admirer

i call this picture the secret admirer because of the flowers outside and the door, its self explanatory i guess, this picture was taken with my canon rebel t3, in downtown Birmingham i honestly don’t remember when. While editing this picture, i decided to give it like a cooler effect so i did that and i also cropped the image and bumped up the contrast. i feel like it could be better if i had a better view of the door but it was kinda high up on the wall for some reason and I’m short so yeah. overall i am really pleased with how this picture turned out.

Zoey E.- House

This photo, titled House, was a photo I took over Thanksgiving break in Talladega. I was in the car passing this house and i really liked how it looked and most of the other old houses in Talladega too. I added a vintage black and white filter and sharpened the picture. It could be better if the power lines were not in the way.

Katie J- Reversed Reflection

The title of my image is Reversed Reflection. This was taken last week at Aldridge Gardens. It was taken with my Nikon DSLR. I used many layers to bring out the vibrance as well as flipping the image upside down. It could be better if i didn’t have all the distracting extras in the background.

Elizabeth R- Remembrance

The title of this image is Remembrance. The title felt fitting because its surroundings are those of a graveyard. Also the scene is a reference to the crucifixion of Jesus. I took this picture over Thanksgiving break. It was taken in a graveyard in Montevallo. I took this picture with my Cannon Rebel.  I simply edited the picture by adding a black and white filter. To me it could have been better if it had not had those specific headstones in the shot. There were better headstones that would have contributed to the overall feel of the photo better. Aside from the tombstones I think the overall image is different.

Derek T - Jeep

My photo is titled Night Ride and was taken at the top of the Bumpus Hill at around 10:00pm. I set the shutter speed to 20 seconds and illuminated the car with my iPhone flashlight then ran around it three times to create the streaks. I edited out some imperfections and increased the contrast to make the light more vibrant.

lauren H- Fall Coffee

The title of this selected image is Fall Coffee. This photo was taken in my backyard on my porch when the sun was setting. It was taken with my Canon T2i rebel camera. I edited this photo by Changing the hue/saturation, it’s vibrance, it’s exposure, and put a warm photo filter on the picture. This picture could be better in terms of the way I zoomed in on the picture. I definitely should’ve backed up a little bit so I could get more of the background, just because the mug seems like there’s almost too much focus on it.

Maria V- Peace

This photo is titled “peace”. I took this with my canon t3i rebel with flash. This picture was reflected off stone outside of my house in day light. The reflection is of me doing the peace sign. I added a filter over it and did some contrasting and brightening. I also used hue, saturation and a bit of vibrance. I love how the edit came out, it was really boring and plain at first but editing made it more exciting.

Samantha A - Color Blinds

this photo is called color blinds and i took it on my nikon d5200. i took it in my room and changed the colors of the lights peering through with photoshop. i think this photo could be better if it was a bit more sharper and clearer.

Nick A- Water on Fire

The title is “Water on Fire.”  It was taken at my lake house on Lay Lake with a Canon EOS 7D with a Canon 50mm Ultrasonic Lens. I bumped up the vibrance and saturation, adjusted the levels, brightness, and contrast. I could readjust the plant in front of the sunset and play wight eh aperture more.

Natalie S- Music

I took this photograph with my digital camera during my choir class.  I edited this image by adding curves, and increasing the contrast and saturation. I also darkened it a little bit to show more of the colors on the stool. The viewer can grasp the theme of the photograph which is Music. The lighting of the image helps notice the reflection on the piano. I think it could be better if it shot it from a different angle. Overall I really like the colors in this photo.

Lupita G- Karina

I took this picture of my sister in my backyard. I took it with my Nikon 3200. I turned of the yellow saturation. I darkened the background so she could stand out more. I tried to fix her eyebrows because they weren’t on fleek but it was hard. I filled some in as well she is missing some that why.
This picture could be better if I did more facial editing.

Madeline V- Glass Reflections

I took this picture on my back porch(for the reflections project) against the woods and I titled it “Glass Reflections”.  I took this picture with my Nikon D3200.  And I edited this picture by doing the neon filter and then I messed with the darkness of the picture and the saturation. I’m pretty happy with how this turned out.

Chris C- Galaxy Photo

This photo was named Galaxy Photo. I took this photo in the the studio of MR. Rigsbys classroom. I edited in a galaxy off the internet into the lens of Justins camera and made the rest black and white. Over all i think it look pretty good but i wish think it would be better if i didn’t have to get the galaxy off the internet.

Desha R- Summer Flies

The name of my selected image is Summer Flies. It was taken at the beginning of the year  this random persons backyard. i edited it by using a blue filter and using a dark overlay. Tis caused the dragon fly to come out more and look more realistic.

Amaan L- Red Hot

this was taken a couple weeks ago for the name project. i did a lot to this picture i edited the curves, hue, vibrance, and vibrance. I could make it better by cropping out a little.

Alondra P- Blue Galaxy

This photo was taken in my bedroom, during the morning for my Color Assignment. I took it with a Nikon Coolpix P600. I edited it on Adobe PhotoShop. What I did was crop it smaller, add a black and white layer, and recovered the blue colors in the picture. I also, lightened the white on the dragon. What I believe I could’ve done better with it, was to snap a better angle and get better lighting on it. I like it because of the details among the ball. How the blue background on the ball looks like a galaxy with the black and white dragon “flying” across it.

Carolina M- The Morning Flower

I called this picture The Morning Flower because it look like a fresh flower thats just now waking up and blossoming. I took this flower at home in front of a window at an angle so the sunlight would reflect differently.I brightened up the picture and make the background darker so you can see the shadow it made a bit more clearly. I also used the smudging effect because it had some black particles i didn’t want to show. I kind of like how only part of the flower shows but I’m not sure. It could have been better if the flower didn’t have some of the brown smudges, but it is a real flower after all, so it couldn’t be too perfect.

Leah B- Fall Reflection

The title of this photo is Fall Reflection. It was taken in my backyard, on my back deck. I used a Nikon D3200 to take this picture. All I did to edit this picture was tune up the vibrance and the saturation to make the leaves in the background a little brighter and more vibrant. I wish I would have gotten more of the glass in the picture, but other than that I am happy with how it turned out.

Blake S.-18

This is of Ross Bridge looking down on hole 18.

Abbey S- Brick Wall

I took this a couple weeks ago, downtown on my canon. I really like everything about this picture, like how the bike is hanging on the wall and all the plants growing up the wall. I like all the colors, I think they go well together.

Tizoc J- Iron Man

I named this photo “Iron Man” because my uncle really likes Iron Man and his sunglasses are Iron Man brand. i took this picture with my Samsung Galaxy s4. to edit the picture i enhanced it and also contrasted the colors.

Anna Grace D- Wildthing

This is my cat and her name is Wild Thing. She is soft and fluffy and super cute. I took this of her on the arm of the couch with my iPhone I made the colors more vibrant and sharpened her texture and fur and facial features!

Bella M- Cave

This photo was taken at the Moss Rock Preserve over Thanksgiving break with a Nikon Coolpix P500. When editing this, i enhanced some of the color of the Trees that show though. This could be better if he was completely dark and there wasn’t light reflecting off of his face.

Austin K- Foggy Flower

I named this image foggy flower and it was taken at my fathers house on November 16 and it was taken with A Cannon powershot A4000 IS I edited it a lot first i cropped it and then put two layers on one is cooling on the mirror and the other on the rest omitting the mirror and then I used a Blur layer on the mirror part. I feel I did the best possible job I could on the image.

Allie B - Photoblog 4

I edited this picture by increasing the contrast and chained the color of the trees a little bit to make them look more like fall. I took this picture at the beginning of the school year when we went downtown. This picture could be better if his legs weren’t so blurry.

Alex H- Pumpkin after the Rain

The title of this image is “Pumpkin after the Rain.” I took it in October, close to Halloween. It was taken with a Nikon camera. I edited it during the pictorialist exercise. I tried to make it look like a drawing or a painting. I like how it turned out. It could be better if it was a little brighter.

Ben D- Toothpick

The title of this image is Toothpick. This was taken in my friend’s back yard at a mini skatepark setup that we made. This photo was taken with a Canon t5i. I edited this photo by adding a black and white filter and sharpening the photo to create a more grainy, raw look that reflects the style of BMX. This photo could be better if I used a better flash to take the picture to freeze the action better and prevent the slight crescent shadow at the bottom of the image.

Brody G- Chapel in the Pines

The title of this image is “Chapel in the Pines” because that is the name of the church in the background. I took this picture a couple of weeks ago in the Pioneer Play school parking lot. I used my Canon t3i to get this image. I think the it could be better if the cross was focused in more but oh well!

Lara M - "Pure Bliss."

The name of this image is “Pure Bliss.” It was taken with my Nikon d3200 about a month ago in bluff park. I’m pretty happy with the way this picture turned out, I don’t usually take very outdoorsy and vibrant pictures so I thought I would change things up. I played around with the hue and saturation in the picture. The only thing i would have done differently is maybe got the picture at a different angle.

Hannah L- Dark Knight

I really like this picture. I took a picture of a reflection of a tree in the hood of my car. I did a little bit of editing to this picture like making it black and white, the i rotated it so the tree was upright, and i did a few more things to it. Over all i really like this picture.

Alice B - Autumn Lake

The title of the photo is Autumn Lake. It was taken at my sister’s backyard in the fall season with my Nikon COOLPIX L830. I edited it to make the fall color leaves brighter and more saturated to show up better. I should have taken it with a better angle because it’s not getting enough of the bright trees and the dark part takes too much of the photo. I liked this picture because of the variety of colors and the reflection.

Anyul M- Alonso

This is a picture of my little brothers eye. I took this picture a few months ago with my Nikon camera. i edited the picture using photoshop using curves and just played around with them. Making the picture darker and bringing out the detail on his face.

Kelvin W- Reflective Pool

This is a photo of the pool in my neighborhood. At the time i took the photo the sun was in the process of raising and the surface of the pool was very foggy. I enhanced this photo and i turned up the saturation.

Maria V- Time

This it titled “time”  I used contrast and settled down the saturation. it could’ve been better if it was positioned differently other than that i liked it.

Alondra P.- Young Soul Trapped

It was taken one Saturday night at Target. It was taken with my Nikon COOLPIX P600. I later edited it at school by cropping it and adding a filter from the sketch category under the image tab; on Adobe Photoshop. I believe it could have been better if it were to have had a different background to it because, it’s too distracting to the main concept.

Christy N- Cozumel

This particular image doesn’t have a name for it simply because I couldn’t come up with one without it being cheesy.  It was taken in Cozumel. I guess the nicest photos I have were taken while I was there. It was taken with my Samsung NX2000, and in terms of editing it, I only cropped it a bit. I think adding a filter would’ve made it look better, but the colors in the photo itself, substitutes adding for a filter in my opinion.

Nancy N- Shopping

This photo is called “Shopping” it was taken in a mall I went to over the summer. I increased the saturation in the photo and Mr. Rigsby helped me edit in the sky in the background because the original image had an overcast sky. I really liked the sky that was replaced in it.
