Cori J - Bobcat

I took this picture at the Birmingham Zoo last weekend. It was taken with my Coolpix L120 camera. I edited this picture by cropping in and add contrast. This picture could be better if the right corner wasn’t blurry. This bobcat was very mad at me taking its picture but little did it know it gave me the perfect shot!

Logan M- Ember Eyes

I took this shot in y basement where I could control the light with my nikon d5100 and my sigma telephoto lens. I did a lot to edit this. This is only one shot that I mirrored and slightly changed to make it look like an actual face. The nose is completely edited. I then desaturated it and did all of the skin tones myself. I then put steel whoop is the eyes and played with lighting and curves ayers to get the finished project.

Alex F- Converse

This image is entitled “Converse.” I took it with my iPhone 4S on my back porch. I edited it using Afterlight. I added a light leak and boosted the contrast. I like the contrast, composition and lighting in this image. I am satisfied with the outcome and do not know what I could do to enhance this image.

Anna Kathryn D- XRay

I took this photo around eleven o’clock outside of my house the day after prom. I used a Nikon D50 to take this picture. I started off by duplicating the image. I messed around with a few filters and i used the difference layer. I moved the duplicated layer to the left which created the second face. On the background layer i used the Hue/Saturation tool to change the color of Ivys face to purple. It could be better if i would’ve erased my reflection in her glasses.

Haley C- Field

This image is called Field. I took it out of a car window on my way to Muscle Shoals over Spring Break. Originally, it had a sun flair in the middle of the tree. So, to edit it, i turned the image black and white by deleting two of the three channels on Adobe and then darkened the image. Overall, i really like how this turned out. The main tree is very whimsical and i think it makes the image more mysterious. If i could change something, i probably would have liked to get out of the car and get closer to the tree.

Ryan W - Looking Through the Window

I named this image “Through the window”. It was made from 3 different images, one that was the background, one is the window, and one is for the sky. I also edited each image in different ways before i combined them. Im very happy with the results of this image, and i believe that the effects all worked together well. The only thing that i wish i could have improved it, is with the darkness of the building and sky. I wish i could have made the image look brighter.

Kinsey V- Mello Yello

This photo was taken in the park outside my house with my Nikon D3000 last week.I edited this picture by bumping up the contrast and setting the auto tone. Then I used the sharpening tool to bring out a little more of the flowers detail. I also used one of the color filters and turned the intensity down a bit.  I think this pic could be better if I focused in on the flowers more, but overall I think the colors work well together. I really like how this picture turned out.

Hannah G- Bird

The title of this image is “Bird”. I took this picture in California on spring break. I took it with my canon camera and to edit it all I did was increase the saturation and contrast. Overall I like how it turned out.

Chloe W- Seats on The Beach

This picture is called Seats on The Beach. This picture was taken during spring break on the  beach. I took this picture with my iPhone. To edit this picture I increased the vibrance and brightened the photo a little bit. To make this picture better if I could have had it a sharper focus on it.

Raphael F- Solar

The title of the picture I chose is Solar. The reason I chose this title was because when you look at the building, you can see that it is sort of glowing due to the sun shining on it. I tok this picture with a digital camera because I didn’t have my SLR on me at the time. My favorite part about the picture is the coloring. The golden color of the building and the same gold tint to the sky is really interesting to me and relays back to why I chose this title for the image.

Angel S- Frustration

I took this during our still life project with Mr. Rigsby’s camera in the studio room. I played around with the levels and lighting to make the shadows stand out more. I set it up to show how frustrating writing music is and the can to represent the late nights. I lost a lot of the color in the body of my guitar but I think it came out really well.

Ben F- Ray Ban Vision

The title of this image is Ray Ban Vision. I picked this image because i really like the summer theme of this photo. I like how the glasses are tinted dark black but the san and the beach background is bright. I like the depth of field so you know its at the beach but your focus is on the glasses. This photo could be Improved by maybe making the background a little more sharp and not as blurry.

Aleena B- Floras

This photo was taken over Spring Break in Atlanta just outside the Georgia Aquarium. It was taken with my Nikon d80 and I did not edit this image at all. I left it the way it was because I just felt like it was amazing alone without the filters and manipulations. It’s a small piece of nature that shouldn’t be tampered with and I don’t feel like it needs any more or any less. This is one of my favorite images I’ve ever taken this year.

Jacob T- Rooster Tail

The title of the photo is Rooster Tail. The picture was taken at park wood and was with an Iphone 5 and edited with photoshop. I added a black and white layer and then i removed the black and white around the truck to allow some color throughout. The photo might have looked better if it was taken horizontally and not virticaly. Overall i like the look of the photo.

Tyler C- Hulk

This image is titled Hulk because of the Hulk Pez dispenser in the picture. This was taken in Mr. Rigsby’s studio for the still life assignment. The image was edited by adding two other images, one of headlights and one of candles to the background. Also a filter was added to the main image with the posterize option to give Hulk a comic book feel. This image could be better if the lights were just bright spots and not objects which would keep the focus more on Hulk.

Ashlyn W- Ford Tough

I took this photo at Low Roads. The name is “Ford Tough” because the truck is off the ground. I took this as a video with my iPhone 5 and took the picture I got out of the video. This is edited by adjusting the contrast, saturation and color balance. This photo could have been better if it wasn’t as blurry.

Lauren S- Bone Fish

The name of this photo is “Bone Fish”. I took it at my brothers home coming from Auburn dinner, last semester. I took it with my iPhone 5. I used an iOS filter. i really like the lighting and the reflection of light.

Molly P-Booger

the title of this image is “Booger”. this photo was taken at my friends a couple of months ago. it is a picture of her cat named Booger. I took this photo with my iPhone. i Edited it by making it black and white and also increasing the contrast.

Jalin R - A Night In

This photo is named “ A Night In”
i took this photo in my home with my iPhone 5s
i edited this photo by increasing the saturation and the Hue
i added a filter :dark strokes” to make the dark lines in the photo
I didn’t use natural lighting for this photo. I actually took this in a pitch black room with a flashlight.

I really like this photo because i set it up from scratch and captured the image i wanted.

John A - Dream

The image I selected is titled Dream. It is a combination of three images. The background is a country driveway near the Warrior River taken last summer. The picture of the swing and the picture of the tree were taken near the National Guard base in Homewood during the fall. All three photos were shot with a Canon Powershot camera. Many filters and affects were added to each photo. The background was inverted and the tree was liquified. This image could be better if it was more solid and defined. I really like the way it turned out.

Matthew C- Hunter Street

I did not give this title a photo it was taken at Hunter street church i didn’t edit the image by brightening the picture a little I also bumped up the colors a little bit too. this picture was taken on my samsung galaxy s 2. I chose this photo cause i like how much you can capture in on image and thought it was really cool how the sun made the image look so unique

Jade B- Holding the Past

i edited this picture using aback and white filters and playing with the hue/ saturation of the image and the curves. i took this at my house in my room using the lights i had. i like how it kind of tells a story. i took this picture with a nikon d3100. i was taking a picture of a kodak pony 135

Ivorie F-C- Snowy Creek

This photo is called Snowy Creek. It was taken on January 29, 2014 in my backyard creek. I edited this picture by cropping it and increasing the brightness. It could be better if I had positioned the camera more to the right to see less trees and fence and more of the creek, although you can’t tell where the creek is due to the snow.

Michael C- Croquet

this was taken in my backyard on sunday night with my nikon coolpix. i edited by adjusting the vibrance and the saturation. This picture could be better if the ball wasn’t so beat up.

Shreya M- Grid Rose

This is an image I created for the composite assignment. I think that the images I used come together very well. The rose is the main subject, the tree adds texture to the rose, and the building I used encompasses everything in a grid. The composition of the subjects enhances the texture of the rose and creates a grid. The lighting helps create shadows that make the rose look 3D and attract attention. For this image, I was going for a very abstract look by trying to combine images that might not have seemed collaborative together.

Kelley M- Khaki the Proud

The title of my picture is ‘Khaki the proud’. It was taken on a saturday, i think, and it was taken on our deck. It was taken with my iPhone 4S. I eddied it by using a black and white layer with shadows and highlighting. It could be better if her ears and the top of her head wasn’t so bright and blurry. She also really loves to take selfies. She’ll run around like crazy but when i say “let’s take a selfie” she’ll run over and sit very calm like. I don’t know why she does that and its very weird but its also very cool!

Jade B- Hands

this picture is titled hands. i took it at the grado in cullman alabama. i used a nikon 3100. it was while i was coming out of a church. i added a layer and overlaid the hands

Mary Kate B- Eye for the World

The title of this image is An Eye for the World and it is a composite photo made up of three pictures. This first picture is of AK’s face, the second picture is of a tree in my backyard, and the third picture is a sunset. I took this with Mr. Rigsby’s camera and my iPhone. I turned down the opacity of the layer on the sunset and changed the type of layer should the color would give a cool effect. I changed the hue of the eye and made turned up the contrast on the tree layer. I would not change anything about this picture.

Alex F- Trails

The titled of this image is “Trails.” I took this photo behind Hoover High in the trails after the snow storm with my iPhone 4S. The pond was frozen over and I thought it looked really cool. I like the reflection in the puddle and the silhouettes of the trees against the sky. I wish I could have used a higher quality camera when I was taking this image.

Nick F- Statue

The title of my picture is Statue. It was taken over a long weekend at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. It was taken with my Nikon D40. To edit the picture I blurred the background a little to bring the focus more on the statue. I would not change this picture I really like how it turned out.

Ryan W - Aquarium

simply titled this image “Aquarium” because it was taken at the Georgia Aquarium. It was taken over christmas break using my iPad. I liked this image more then the others i took at this trip, because it show a large diversity of fish and plant life. I edited this image slightly by changing the hue and saturation to make the color of the water stand out more. I wish that some of the fish weren’t as blurry, but i can’t really control that, so overall i really like this image.

Traci M- Underwater

The title of this image is Underwater. I used a Cannon Rebel for this composite assignment. I layered the images and used a mask to reveal parts of each image. I’m very happy with how this image turned out.

Claire A- Time Square

This picture is called Times Square because that is where I took it on my trip to NYC with the finance Acd. in December. I edited it by adjusting the brightness and contrast. I could have made it better by Taking it fem a better angle.

Zoya D- Close up Alter

The title of my selected picture is “Close up alter.”
This picture was taken at home last week.
This picture was taken with my digital camera.
I edited this picture by using the pencil type of edit, and changing the color a little and making it brighter.

I like the picture the way it is.

Iman S - Mirror

My image that I chose is called Mirror. This photo was taken on March 18, 2014 in front of my house. This picture was taken with my Nikon CoolPixs camera. I put a motion blur on it. I then made a copy of the layer and put the exclusion effect on it. I was really happy with how this picture turned out.

Ivy U- Free People

The title of my image is free people. it was taken at the summit one night after dinner. it was taken with my iPone 5s. i edited it using photoshop. it could be better if it was more straight on and not slanted.

Nick A- Life to the Dead Flower

These pictures were taken on Christmas Break. The picture of the sun was taken when i was on my day home from my dads house. The flower was taken for another assignment and i really liked how the coloring was on the flower. the last picture was taken in my room of my vans i got for christmas. I edited this picture by making it a composite and using the light of the sun to give life to the dead flower. but i also kept the eery feeling with the filter i used for my vans. on the sun, i used a motion blur filter. I don’t think this photo could be any better. i am so happy with the outcome.

Ben F- Electric Blue Music

The title of this image is called Electirc Blue Music. It was taken in my room on a tuesday night. I took it with my digital slr camera (don’t know what its called). i edited it by putting a black and white layer and then colored the words on the Ukelele a cool electric blue color. I then added a bubble wrap type filter to it. This photo could be better by maybe making the depth of field a little father so you could see the body of the instrument.

Angel S- Boquet

I took two different photos of a rose from different angles and created a bouquet. I toyed around with the levels and curves then used the glowing edges filter. I believe it came out very well.

Cori J - Something In The Grass

This was taken in my backyard on March 14, 2014. This was taken with my Nikon camera. I didn’t edit this picture because I really liked it how it was. I took this photo for the close up assignment.

Cory P- Distance

The title of this picture is “Distance.” This picture was take out by Discovery Church before you reach the Chestnut Ridge neighborhood. This was taken with my Sony Digital Camera. I edited this picture by editing the saturation. This picture could be better if I had more to shoot in the picture instead of just nature and the sky.

Ryan W - Sunlight over Nashville

This image is called Sunlight over Nashville. I took it last September when my dad and I went to Nashville to watch the Tennessee Titans play. The rest of the images in this composite were shot with my FujiFilm Fine pix S 3200 camera. One was part of the night and day assignment where i took a long exposure shot on a bridge to make the streaks of light that you see in the middle of the image. The other was just a bush that i put in to add some color to the image. Overall i really like how this turned out, and it was definitely the best composite that i made.

Justin N - Crayons

I titled this photo Crayons. This is a close up I took of a few crayons I had at my house. They are laying on top of a black mousepad. I edited the image by saturating the crayons and putting filters on them and then coloring the mousepad. The only thing I would have done to make it better is cleaning up some of the sides of the crayons.

Diggy B- Amarillo

This picture was taken in my neighbor’s yard, one day after school. I took this picture with my Canon Eos Rebel T3i. I edited this picture by, messing with the brightness and contrast, and exposure, and I also took out the other flower by painting and using the cloning tool.  I’m happy with how this picture came out.

Matthew E- Blue Trumpet

This photo is called Blue Trumpet. This a combination of four different photos two photos were taken of the sky while the others were of the trumpet and of the tree plus the water. I edited the photo by added some brightness and a little contrast and I also added some saturation to make the orange more intense. I really like this photo and would not change anything.

Sean M- Ski Slope

This picture is titled “Ski Slope.” It was taken on February 16th in West Virginia while on a ski trip. I took this panorama to show the depth of the mountain. It did not turn out as well as I had hoped because I did not have much time to take it because it was 5 degrees and my hands were cold. The only thing I wish is that I would have had more time to take it.

Ryan S- Old Shed

i took this photo with my point and shoot camera
i took this photo during the acrhitcultrue at my old elementary school

i did some editing to this photo i adjusted the shadows and added multiple filters

Melissa M- Gum Ball

This image was taken in my backyard on a sunday afternoon.  To edit this I increased the contrast to emphasize the details and then boosted the color by saturation.  I really love the way it turned out because of how vivid the details are and the only thing i would change would be making that bottom section of the gum ball a little more clear.

Mason L - Eye with Pretty Colors

This picture was taken in the studio for the close up assignment. I liked the idea of taking close up of an eye and I tried to recreate it. My camera would not get close enough so it isn’t the shot I wanted. I edited the eye with other pictures and managed to get a cool glowing affect on the eye itself. The neutral background didn’t compliment the photo enough so I inserted a neon textured image in place.

Hope W.-Pink Flowers

The title of my image is “Pink Flowers”. It was taken at my house for the Close Up Assignment. It was taken with my Canon Powershot. I edited it by brightening the image, bumping up the contrast, raising the vibrance and saturation, adding a curves layers, a levels layer, and I added a filter. I really like this image and wouldn’t change anything about it!
