Sam R - Irony

This photo is titled Irony because it is a picture of something that takes pictures. I took it on my back porch on a foggy morning a while back because I thought it would look cool. I edited it with selective color, exposure, analog efex, and channel mixer. I like the fog a lot.

Mitchell- R- Raven

The title of this photo is Raven. I took this photo for our portrait assignment. I took this shot with a Pentax K200D. I edited it by sharpening and changing to black and white. This would be much better if it wasn’t so dark.

Kristie M- Sunset on the Lake

This image is called “Sunset on the Lake”. I took this image at the small lake at veterans park for a previous assignment. I edited this image by changing the color balance to add more red, blue, and yellow, used the spot healing tool to get rid of dirt on the surface of the lake, and increased the contrast. This image was take on my Nikon camera and I feel that it could have been better if it were taken at a lower level.

Mahita T- Red Leaf

I titled this picture Red Leaf. I took this picture in my backyard a few weeks ago. I took this picture with my Nikon D50 camera. I edited picture by increasing the saturation and using  a Nik Filter. I think I could have made this picture better by using a different background.

Anna Grace L- Luna

I called this image “Luna” because that is the cow’s name is Luna. I took this picture in Fairhope, AL on my Aunt’s farm. This picture was taken over Thanksgiving break and was taken with my IPhone 7. I lightened the picture and faded the background a little bit. It could be better if the picture was a little bit straighter and if the edges were cropped a little.

Tyler L- Reed

I call this photo Reed. I took this shot in my friend Austin’s room the day after thanksgiving while we were playing a miniature basketball game. I took this photo my Nikon D3300.  edited it by reducing saturation, increasing the contrast and raising the brightness. I think it could be better if the light coming from the background was farther left so you could see more of Reeds face.

Margaret S - Little Red Playground

This image is titled Little Red Playground. It was taken on a Sunday afternoon at the playground of my preschool. It was taken with my Nikon D3200 camera. I edited the picture by adjusting the tone and lighting and playing with highlights. The photo could be better from another angle, but I took it at this angle to recreate and visualize it like I did when I was little.

Lily D- Wrong Way

The title of this photo is “Wrong Way”. It was taken in Asheville, North Carolina during thanksgiving break. i took this photo with a canon XTI. I edited it by turning down the contrast and bringing the brightness down as well. It could be better if I focused more on the sign.

Mackenzie J- Falling Fally

This is a picture of Caitlin outside. I took this picture right before we left for the State Championship on Wendsday. I tok it with a Canon Rebel. It was edited it turning up the contrast and saturation. The picture could be better if some of the redness on the face was erased and some of the small details were fixed.

Reid B- Million Dollar Band

This picture was taken on October 24, 2015 at the Alabama vs. Tennessee football game. I took this picture with an iPhone 5c. I edited it by adding a lot of filters to it. This picture is very blurry and I think if I had a good camera with me I think I could have made it look better.

Matthew G. - Harvest Festival

The title of this image is Harvest Festival. I took this picture at my church on October 30. I took this picture with my Nikon D3300. I messed with the brightness and contrast a little bit and took out some extra stuff in the background. I could have probably filled in the background but it would have been too tedious for my short attention span.

Alyssa R- Behind The Scenes

My image is titled “Behind The Scenes”, It was take a few weeks ago at St. Vincent’s Hospital. It was taken with my cannon rebel and I did not do much to the photo but turn up the saturation. It could have been better by the lighting, it is very harsh. I took this photo because it showed the behind the scenes of what am OR functions on. This is a Instrumental Specialist, they take the cleaned instruments and put them together in trays specifically for certain surgeries.

Maddy F- Mountains

I took this picture with my Nikon 7000. This was my trip to Wyoming and was actually taken out of the car window. I really enjoy the colors in it. I edited it by bringing the shadows up a little bit and increasing the contrast.

Ryan G- November 25

I titled this photograph November 25 because that was the date it was taken. I took it in Ohio over Thanksgiving break. This is my little brother Drew in a public square leaning on a railing. I made the photo feel like fall and winter seasonal. I liked the partly melted snow on the ground and i used a nik collection filter to make the photo grainy and blue and red.

Heath M- Sunset on the Smokies

This photo is titled “Sunset on the Smokies” and was taken at the Ocoee Retreat Center in Tennessee as the sun was setting behind the mountains. I edited this picture by cropping, painting, and using the eyedropper tool to make the red’s in the image stand out more. I really liked taking this picture because I got to hang out with my friends and watch the sun set. Overall, I believe that I could have made this picture better by doing something to the bush that is left of the model so as to make it not stand out as much.

Landon H - Lancia Italia

The title of this image is “Lancia Italia”. It was taken at Cars n Coffee on Saturday August 27, 2016. I edited it by using a black and white filter, then recoloring the Lancia while also leaving everything els B&W. It could be better if I had more of the car in the photo, a different background somewhere a little more professional and suiting for the car.

Everett M - Apple And Knife

The name of the picture I chose to put up on the Photo Blog is called “Apple And Knife.” I really thought this composition was cool because it creates an overall, super interactive image. I also really like the vibrance of the colors and how the colors contrast well against the cutting board. I edited this photo by increasing the saturation of the reds of the image. I also increased the contrast and the brightness slightly. Finally, I added a blur filter around the edge of the photo to bring focus to the subject better.

Brandon H- Lost in Thought

This picture was taken at lovers leap in bluff park a while ago. The pictoralist assignment really made me like tis image of my friend Aiden because it really has infinite possibility for the background layer. This was taken with my nikon at around 2:30 in the morning. It was a good time. I edited this by emphasizing the color in his eyes and by using the charcoal feature. I took a whole bunch of pictures off of the internet to put as his thoughts because I thought that was pretty cool.

Emily B - Pink Sunset

I took this photo a couple weeks ago with my Nikon D3200. This was during the sunset going down 150 and I was riding with my friend when I took it. Originally, the colors were not as vibrant. I edited the color, and tinted the hues some. I brought up the saturation as well. This picture could be better if it was taken in a better place, rather than in the car. Overall, I really like this picture.

Magali V - The Cake

The title of this image “The Cake” and it is of my niece Kimberly with her birthday cake. I took this picture during the Thanksgiving break at her birthday party. I cropped the picture so that the little girl would be the main focus, but I also used the Nik collection filters to put the picture in black and white and also add a vintage effect. The picture could have been better if I had cropped more of the cake so the she could not have so much from the bottom of the picture.

Ben S- Apple

This image is called Apple. I edited it with the HDR Nik Collection filter and cropped it. I also edited the colors to give it a more mystical tone.

Ashley H- Blue

The title of this picture is Blue. It was taken a couple weeks ago on my back deck. It was taken with a Nikon camera. It could have been better if I got more of the background in the background in the picture and if I made the colors of the background a little darker.

Mark A- My Cat

This is a picture of my cat. He looks a little evil in this picture but I promise you he is not. I enhanced this picture and cropped in more on him. I wish I would not have gotten the corner of the picture frame in this picture.

Sarah Page H.- Venice Italy

The title for this image is Venice, Italy. The photo was taken with my Nikon 3300. I have not done anything to this image. It is unedited. I probably could have made the sky pop out a little bit more. I also could have brought up the contrast up. The photo was looking out onto the water on the street of Venezia Italia.

Cameron S- Fall

This Picture is called “Fall” and I took this a few weeks ago at my barn. This was taken with my Nikon D5300. I made the sky a little darker so it look more blue and I lightened up the trees so the color stands out more. I think the picture could be better if the power line pole wasn’t in it but other than that I think it turned out good.

Skylar J - Autumn Leaves

This photo is called Autumn Leaves. It was taken about 2 weeks ago in the front of my house. I edited it by using the pictorialist method and I enhanced the contrast and brightness. It was taken with my iPhone 6s camera. It could be better if I would’ve gotten the entire red leaf in my picture because it is cut off on the top. I like this picture a lot because the filter I used gives it a kind of antique look and it really makes the dark parts of the leaf look rustic.
