Hillary A- Hoover Bucs

This picture is of the Buccaneer Stadium at Hoover High School. My family and I were watching my brother play football, he’s a freshman, and I decided to bring the camera just incase anything cool happened. I took other several pictures of my brother playing, but I liked this one. I edited this picture in photoshop. I just enhanced the sky a little.

Kelsey M- Pool

This photo is called “Shadow”. I took this photo last summer at my cousins house. I really like this photo because its calming to me and relaxing. What I did to the photo was enhance the photo put a filter on it, brought down the color, and brought up the lighting.

Daniel T- Birdhouse

The title of this image is birdhouse. I took in in the night in my backyard. I took it with a canon rebel. I edited it by turning up the visual noise. I like how it turned out.

Madalyn M- Avondale Park

The title of this picture is Avondale Park. I took it at Avondale Park a year ago. I feel okay about it I would like it to be cleaner. I edited it by turning the brilliance and contrast up and the highlights, shadows, black points down. Then I turned the color, saturation, contrast up and the cast down.

Hannah R- Untitled

I don’t have a name for this and I took this picture while one of my friends was driving. I took this back when we were doing our about me project. While editing, I added more saturation and contrast. I also added more of a warm tone to the image. I like how this turned out, but I could have tried to get a better angle of the sky.

Aundrea A. - GT

The title of this image is GT. This picture was taken of a friends Mustang GT. It was taken with my Nikon COOLPIX B500. I edited this picture by cropping it, changing the filter to Chrome, boosting the brilliance, shadows, contrast and black point, I decreased highlights and brightness. I also made the fall off greater and made the radius bigger, I finally used the retouch tool to take away some of the darker spots on the car. I think the Picture could be better by being able to get the rust out of the picture.

Jacob D - Space in My Backyard

The title of my image is “Space is in my backyard.” I used a Nikon Coolpix S700 in my backyard on September 17, 2018.The photo is of part of my backyard. It shows the lower back porch, the path in my yard, and some trees. This was during the Night & Day assignment and I thought about taking a photo of my backyard. Which I did with a little bit of interesting editing to it. I never thought this was one I would show for photography. This was more of a personal piece. This photo represents the weird part of me. Which is actually one of my more defining characteristics. I have a large fascination with space but am afraid of going to space since we know so little. I feel safer at home. So why not combine the two? And that is what I set out to do. A lot of editing went in to this image to make it look the way it does. I did some cropping and editing with a lot of the small details like sharpness, brightness, contrast, etc. A lot of small little details like I said. Though the most interesting feature and my favorite part is the large contrast in color in the more nature part of the image. I used color saturation, hue, and vibrance a lot here. I wanted it to seem other worldly. Like space had invaded my backyard. Which is the effect I got. If I was going to edit it more than I would go through and add more details with space features. Like a black skyline in the background with stars. But the lighting come in to effect and my skills aren’t good enough for that. Someday though, I will be able to do that.

Yovani T- Georgetown Park

It was taken in Hoover about a month ago. It was taken with an iPhone 8 plus. I did editing to the color and contrast of the picture. It could be better in my opinion if I could’ve made it a little brighter.

Chris R - Confused Goose

I took this photo when I saw it watching me. I think this photo represents the look on your face when a stranger walks up to you for no apparent reason, but show no malicious intent. I was happy with how it turned out.

Garrett H- Cross At Day

It was taken at my house off of the back deck. It was taken with my Canon dslr. What I did to edit was fix a little of the paint on the cross and I enhanced a lot of the colors in the image. I really like this image because my religion is a really big thing for me.

Natalie M - Untitled (Bluff Park)

This was taken at Blue Park Elementary School one weekend recently. It was taken with my friends iPhone because my phone died while we were there taking pictures. I did not edit this photo because I liked the way it is better than when I tried to edit it. It could be better if I knew what I was doing and how to make it look good by editing it.

Adam N - Outside

The title of of this image is called ‘Uutside’. This image was taken outside at school last week. I took the photo with my iPhone with no edit

Emily S- Vulcan

This picture is titled Vulcan. I took this picture on my phone one day when I went to Vulcan. I was there to take a pure barre class that was infant of the statue. How I edited this picture was I turned up the saturation and the brightness a little to really pull out all of the pretty colors. I also sharpened it a little so you could see the detail in the statue that my phone didn’t capture. I really like this picture but I think if it had been taken on a camera the quality of the picture would be much better.

Deebaj F- Untitled (Atlanta)

I really don’t have any title for this picture. I took this photo a month ago when I went to the Atlanta with my family for a religious day. It was taken with my camera, Canon EOS Rebel T6. This photo could be better when I take this with another angle. I edited this photo  by increasing some saturation, contrast, low brilliance and add some colors.

Hayden M- Lake House and Ducks

This photo is called Lake House Ducks. I took this at my lakehouse that is on Guntersville Lake. I was really trying to focus on the sunset but then a group of geese flew by and added onto my image. Honestly, I wish the sunset had more color to it. Usually the sunsets are great there and this one was lacking the various colors. I still really like this image though.

Anna S- "Pet Park"

I titled this photo, “Pet Park”. I took this one afternoon while I downtown. It was on top of the Food Hall parking garage. I edited this photo by enhancing it and turning up the brightness and contrast. I also went in and covered up the pet spots on the grass carpet. It could have been better if I would have gotten a better view of the whole park. However, there was a gate in my way so I could not have stood further back. I love this picture because I love pets and I thought this was super cute. I also love how it is very vibrant and has a positive vibe.

Dontreal L- 7pm in New York

The image was taken in Manhattan, New York around 7 pm, so that’s why I named it “7 pm in New York.” It was taken with a Sony DSC-W830 camera. I simply added a black and white filter on it. I could’ve made it cleaner looking like add sharpness to it.

Yuliana Z- Vintage Vibe

I named this picture “Vintage Vibe” because of my friend Lara, and my subject of the picture, her outfit gives off a vintage vibe with the primary color saturated shirt and her high waisted skinny jeans. The photo was taken on September 14th at the Summit. It was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T6. I edited this picture by using the Viveza 2 Nik Collection feature to bring focus on just her, as well that I increased the saturation, sharpened her features, and decreased the shadows. I also removed a stray hair she had, a women’s leg in the background, and a blemish she had on her chin.

Faye M- Main Ideas

The title of the image I chose is “Main Ideas.” It was taken during my English class while my friend was highlighting his book and it was taken with my Cannon Powershot. I increased the sharpness and contrast only slightly to get some of the lines clearer. I also increased the saturation to get the highlighter to be a bit brighter. The image could have a better focus, but I was trying to catch the highlighter mid sentence so my camera couldn’t focus as well as I wanted.

Skylar J- Lion

The title of my image is Lion. This was taken around 3 weeks ago in my front yard. This photo was taken with my iPhone 6s camera. I edited it by cropping, using definition, and adding a black & white filter. It could be better if I would’ve gotten the full lion in the photo.

Megan C- A Different World

This is titled “A Different World” mostly because in this tunnel that looks like a rainbow, I see a different world full of dreams, fantasy, and happiness. This photo was taken a month ago at the rainbow tunnel in Downtown, Birmingham and I captured the shot with my Nikon D3400. I edited it by lowering the light and brightness just a little. I think the image would be even better if at a different angle possibly. Overall, I’m actually proud of the finished look.

Jennifer L- Untitled

This image doesn’t have a title but it was taken in my front yard  around 2 weeks ago, and it was taken with my Canon T5 Camera, and I edited this picture by adding color to make it more pink and I darkened the background and blurred it more to make the flower stand out on its own. This picture could be better if their was more color to the flower itself and more color to the background like on the sides.

Grace R- Light Reading

The title of this image is “Light Reading.” This was taken in a park on September 16 in the afternoon. It was taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ70. I edited it first in Photos and then used Photoshop to remove a dark shadow from her face. I think the picture would be better if there were less dark shadows  and if the pages of the book were more in focus. I like this picture because of the contrasting colors and also the personality it captures. This is my sister reading one of her favorite books and I love the smile she’s making. I called the picture “Light Reading” because she loves old, long books. She’ll take them anywhere, even the park or the beach, so to her, any book is a light read. The title also refers to the bright, sunny day this picture was taken on.

Ainsley M- Golden Hour

This picture is called ‘Golden Hour’ because I took it when the sun was setting and it light reflected onto the clouds. It was taken in my backyard back in September and I used a Sony Digital camera. I edited it by turning up the contrast and down the brightness. I think it could be better if the clouds in the corner weren’t as dark.

Madalyn M- Fall tree

Kelsey M- Brusters

Trevion C- Hope

The title of this image is “Hope.” This image was taken at Washington D.C. on April 13th. This is one of my favorite photos that I’ve taken because every time I look at this image, it gives me hope and motivation to make positive change like Dr. Martin Luther King. For this image, I slightly increased the brilliance and decreased the exposure on the image.

Yovani T- 3Diamonds

That Title I gave this picture was 3Diamonds. I took this picture 3 weeks ago at a restaurant in Vestavia. It was taken with My iPhone 8 Plus. I edited this picture by using The retouch to cover up all of the small imperfections that it had. I also played around with the brilliance and the highlight to where I thought it looked better.I think it could be better if it had some more clouds like the ones that are in the background and maybe if I could make the bumper lip look better. But overall I really like the way the picture came out.

Vladimir S.- under the purple lights

The title of my photo is called under the purple lights. It was taken at a arcade in Pelham , it was around 5 or 6 when I took the photo. I took this photo on my iPhone 8 . I haven’t edited this photo I think it looks pretty good like that. I was third wheeling when I took the photo.

Yuliana Z- Sidekick

I titled this picture “Sidekick”. I took this photo on August 23, 2018 out in the courtyard in front of one of the pillars right before the back gates. I took this photo using a Canon Rebel EOS T6. I edited this photo in photoshop by heightening the saturation, lowering the shadow, removing two blemishes on his cheek and forehead and increasing the brightness. It could be better if the blemish removed wasn’t as obvious. I called this picture sidekick because Mr.Rigsby had called him that right before we took this picture, and if he’s the sidekick, I’m the hero so that’s a yes from me.

Tyler W- White Supra

This is a picture of a white Toyota Supra I took at a Magic City Octane car meet last weekend. I took this photo with my Nikon D90 with a 35-70mm lens. I edited this picture by darkening it and increasing saturation. I also decreased luminance in the ‘Levels’ editor. This picture could’ve been better if my shutter speed was a little fast to let in less light. This would give the car more detail.

Ethan D- Ford Ranger

The title of this photo is Ford Ranger. I took it two weeks ago outside my house. It was taken with my Sony camera. I just changed the color of this photo. I wish I could’ve focused the picture a little more. The car in the picture is my car.

Nicholas L. - To the Wall

It was taken in the digital photography room at about mid day and it was taken with my phone.  I edited it by increasing the sharpness and definition, reducing the light and making it black and white.  It could be better by increasing the simplicity in the background .  This image was just something that I took while lounging back after a lesson one day I looked to my right and thought to myself, “this would be a good picture.”

Morgan H - Golden Hour

The title of my image is ‘Golden Hour’. I took this picture in my kitchen around 6 or 7 pm, when the sun gets at a certain point where it’s barely peaking over the horizon and casts a glowy shine. I took this photo with my iPhone SE. I edited it by emphasizing the darkness a little and cropping it. I believe it could be better if it was more in focus and if my hand was in a different position, but I think that it’s still nice the way it is.

Jake D- Unexpected View

This photo is called “Unexpected View.” Mainly because this was taken through a trash can with 2 openings. I thought it was a cool idea to take it that way. This was taken at Railroad Park on August 26th. It was taken with my camera, which is a Nikon Coolpix L830. I edited it by darkening it a tiny bit so the main focus was the view and not the insides of the can. I changed the color a little bit too. Nothing too complicated with this photo. I wish the color of the trees, bushes, etc was a little more saturated so the colors would pop better. Overall I am satisfied with this picture and it is one of my favorites.

Amari M - Roses in the Night

Roses in the Night was taken with my Canon Powershot. I raised the saturation on the photo to make the rose gold pop out more but at the same time darkened the blacks to put more emphasis on the color.

Jennifer L- Untitled

This image has no title but it was taken almost a month ago in my backyard. It was also taken with my Canon T5 camera, and I edited this by adding the filter Transfer and lowering the brightness and more color to it. It could have been better if their was more color to the background and more details as well.

Rachel G - Sunlight

The picture was taken in my backyard in the middle of a bright and sunny day in August. This picture was taken with my zoom lens on my Canon Rebel EOS T6i. I edited the picture by increasing the exposure, saturation, contrast, and also decreasing the brilliance. This picture could be better if I got more light leaks in the photo, the leaves seemed to be blocking chances for more. Though this picture is relatively simple, I like it because it reflects the simplicity of a nice, sunny day.

Devon H- Von Wears Vans

This photo was taken August 28,018 it was taken in room E161.It was taken with my iPhone 6 I edited it with a instant filter That’s it. It could be better if the picture was clearer higher quality. This is my second favorite par of shoes the checkerboard vans white and black version.I like the shoes because of the plain design and they go with alot of stuff plus they really comfortable.Well that’s it about the picture.

Hillary A- Crystal

The title of the picture is “Crystal”. I took this like last week on a Saturday. We went all the way to the top of the parking deck of the mall. It was taken with my camera, Canon EOS Rebel T6i. I didn’t do much to it, I just cropped it to 16:9. I wish that the sun wasn’t hitting her too mudhbecause she looks orange.

Omar T- Outfit of The Day

This photo was taken at my home and I took this photo of my outfit in august and I took this photo with a canon rebel t6 and the way I edited I made the photo Black and white and the setting I am using in this photo is automatic setting on my camera.

Dontreal L- Hoop Sesh

I named this photo “Hoop Sesh”, and it was taken August 19, outside my house on a calm day.I took this picture wit the camera I got for my digital photography class, which is a Sony camera.
I simply added a color filter to try something new and added a bunch definition to it to make it look sharp. It could be better if the photo was taken somewhere it was more clear to only focus on me and the basketball.

Faye M- Typing Practice

The title of my image is “Typing Practice.” It was taken on August 17 with my canon Powershot at my computer during class. I switched the image to black and white and increased the sharpness of the image. I could have gotten closer to the keys themselves and had them take up more space, but this was when I was just stating to get to know my camera. I titled the image “Typing Practice” because  the bg keys reminded me of how hard it was to learn to type when I was younger.

Skylar J - Uncolored Flower

The title of my picture is Uncolored Flower. This was taken at taco Tequila around three weeks ago. It was taken with my iPhone 6s camera. I initially edited it with the vsco app, then with iPhoto. I used a blackened white filter, contrast, and definition. This photo could’ve ben better if the flowers on the bottom were a little more clear. I love photographing flowers more than any other subject.

Hayden M - Sunset Silhouette

This was taken in the Preserve at sunset. It was taken with my Canon camera. I edited it by making the trees a little darker. I wish the picture was less tree and more of the actual sunset. This is one of my favorite sunset images.

Jonathan O- Beach

The title of photo is called beach.  I took the picture at the beach in Panama Florida, on July 3rd of this year. I took the photo with my iPhone 6 plus. All I did to the picture was increase the saturation and crop out some of the chairs and ocean. Honestly it can not get any better then what it is.

Hannah R- Dennis

This picture is of my pet turtle named Dennis. It was taken at my house inside his tank on August 17th. I used this for one of the pictures for my About Me Assignment. I edited it by increasing the saturation and adding a warm tone to the photo. I also increased the black point to make him stand out a little more. I then increased the sharpness and the definition to make the details more noticeable. To make this better, I could have taken a few more shots to see if I could get better angles, but I mostly like how this turned out.
