Rebecca G - River

I picked “River” as my picture. It was taken over Christmas break in Mississippi. I took it with my Nikon camera and edited it by enhancing it and boosting the color. I think it could be better if you could see more of the water.

Kinsey V- Floating Fountain

This was taken at the Ross Bridge Reinassance Hotel on January 25th with my Nikon camera. I edited this picture by messing with the contrast, saturation, and HDR and toning. I also turned down the brightness to make the fountain look very dark and not as exposed. It could be better if the sun wasn’t so blurry and did not block the light post, but overall I liked the way this picture turned out.

Claire A- Radio City Music Hall

I took this picture in December on my trip to New York City. I edited it by adjusting the contrast and brightness. I like the angle that I took this picture, I think it makes a cool effect. If I could change something I would ale this picture with a better camera, because I took this with my iPhone 5.

Haley G- Where There is Light, There is Shadow

Where there is light, there is shadow.
I took the background photo in downtown Birmingham during the time of the collage assignment. It was taken with my phone which is a HTC Rhyme. I put several different pictures into the photo, I enhanced the vibrance and saturation. I made most of the pictures transparent so it did not take away the background photo. I think it could have been better if the picture was a little brighter but I wanted the theme of the photo to have a dark atmosphere.

Diggy B- Entry

Title: Entry
Where: This was taken in some strip mall
When: This was taken on a friday
What it was taken with: My Canon EOS Rebel T3i
How I edited It: I skewed the picture in a lot of different places to straighten the image out, and align all the symmetrical aspects.
How it Could be Better: I’m really happy with how it turned out, so I can’t think of any improvements
Additional Information: I love the symmetry in this picture, and I love the softness of it to. I used this for my architecture project and it’s my favorite assignment i’ve ever turned in for this class.

Bailey T- Wrinkled Pages

The title of this image is Wrinkled Pages. I took this Picture During class one day with Mr. Rigsbys camera. I edited this image by brightening it and adding some contrast. I also took away the saturation so that the background was lighter but there was still some color left in the flower. This image could have been better if positioned it differently and chose better lighting.

Allison S- Light Tunnel

The title of this image is “Light Tunnel”. I took this last weekend in downtown Birmingham when me and one of my friends drove down there to take pictures. I took this photo with my Canon Rebel SL1. To edit this, I played with the contrast and vibrance of the colors, adjusted the curves and added a sepia filter. Im really happy with how this photo turned out.

Tait C- The Met

The name of this photograph is The Met. I took this photo with my Canon Powershot camera around noon in late January. This photo is actual a panorama so it is made up of about 85 images. To edit this photo I boosted the hue and saturation. I also had to crop out a few cars. The final adjustment i made was to adjust some of the clips so they would match up evenly. Overall I am very pleased with this photograph.

Shelby A- Birmingham

The title of this picture is Birmingham. I look it awhile ago at the new barons baseball field. It was taken with my cannon EOS. I edited it by bumping up the brightness, saturation, exposer, and contrast. It could be better by showing more of the ground I had to crop a lot off and I wish I didn’t have too.

Karley K - Imagine

This image is titled “Imagine” and I took it in New York at Strawberry Fields. It was taken with my iPhone 5 and I boosted the contrast, vibrance, and messed around with the curves to make the tiles and the black and white colors stand out. I’m very pleased with this photo and i wouldn’t change anything.

Jade B- Hands

This picture is titled Hands. I took it at the Grado in Cullman Alabama. I used a Nikon 3100. it was while i was coming out of a church. i added a layer and overlaid the hands

Ashlyn R- Union Station

i titled this picture train station because in downtown Montgomery there is an old train station that is rarely used anymore. I took this picture for the panorama project with my iPhone 4s. I edited it by adding a filter and I actually filled in the tree more to make it stand out. It looks a little weird but overall I liked the way this picture turned out.

Anna Kathryn D- Eyes

This picture is titled Eyes. It was taken around sunset on a Sunday afternoon in the Preserve. It was taken with a Nikon D50 and I edited by boosting the contrast and changing the eye color of the two girls. The eye on the left is originally a hazel color and the eye on the right is originally a light blue color. I think this picture could be better if i got less of the cheeks in it.

Brooke F- Chruch Detail

I titled this image Church Detail because it is a picture of a church. I took it for the Architecture Assignment in Downtown Birmingham. I took it with my Cannon camera. I edited by increasing the brightness and the contrast to make the detail show more. I really like the way this picture turned out.

Hope W.- Blue Door

The title of this image “Blue Door”. It was taken for the architecture assignment on Morris Avenue downtown. It was taken with a Nikon D80. I edited the picture by bumping up the brightness and contrast, bumping up the vibrance, and adding a black and white level. I turned down the opacity on the black and white level. I really like this photo and I wouldn’t change anything about it.

Matthew E- Leaves

This photo is called Leaves. I edited this photo by making everything black and white and then boosting the contrast and saturation of the leaves. I left everything else black and white to put the focus on the leaves. This photo could have been better if i had left some color in the bricks around the leaves.

Alex F-Tacky Jacks

This picture as taken over the summer in Fort Morgan. I took it with my iPhone 4S. I edited it by removing people from the image and barely increasing the saturation. I chose this picture because I really like the colors of the sky and boardwalk. I could improve this picture by removing the glare on the ocean. I might also crop in on the ends a little.

Aleena B- Souls

This selected image is called “Souls”. It was taken in the back photo room in december. It was taken with my Nikon d80. I edited it by blacking out the face except for the eyes, then put my two light pictures into the pupil and a window in the middle. My point was to show how the yes are the window to the soul and the window is an opening to the mind showing that everyone has a small dose of insanity in them. It could be better if the red lines in the eyes were eliminated and they were shaped a bit better, also if i lightened the door of the iris, it would be nice. s

Angel S- Stars

I took this photo with my phone, HTC X. I liked how the lights created a glare and messed with the levels to darken it to make it less distracting. I wish I could have been able to reduce the amount of glare the lights created but it turned out well.

Chloe W- Reserved

This was taken at Hoover Hall during advisory. To edit this photo I added a filter. Then adjusted the curves and brightened the photo. To improve this photo I could have taken the glare off the bottom side of the picture.

Isaac E- Winter Break Take Three

I took this picture the when it snowed on the 11th. I boosted the saturation, and moved the colors toward the cooler part of the spectrum. I enjoy how well in focus is, and i like how there is an obvious difference in exposure the further from the light source the leaves and snow area. I wish the bottom lefthand corner was a little more in focus, and that the snow was a little more crisp, but other than that, i love this picture

Hope W- Fall Reflection

The title of my image is “Fall Reflection”. I took this at Star Lake for the reflection assignment. This was taken with my iPhone. I edited it by bumping up the brightness and contrast, bumping up the vibrance, and adding a levels and curves layer. It could be better if it wasn’t so grainy.Hop

Gauge I- m&m cookies

I title this picture m&m cookies. it was taken at my house on december 7th 2013. It was taken with my canon Powershot. I edited it by turning the photo black and white and restoring the color to the m&m’s. It could have been better if i had some more m&m’s exposed.

Matthew C- Untitled

I didn’t have a title for this photo but i took this picture during November i chose this image because the trees looked really nice at this angle. i edited the picture by bumping up the saturation just a bit to bring the color out.  I also rotated the picture a little top straighten up the image.

Logan M- Up is Down

I took this photo at the pond behind the track at Hoover High School with my Nikon D5100. besides basic touch up editing, I added a crosshatched filter to give it more surreal look. I then removed the filter from the dead trees and sticks to make them stand out. I then added a black and white filter then removed it from the reflection in the water. I don’t know what really inspired me to take this and edit it the way I did, but I really love it. I could have used a tripod or not taken the photo on such a cloudy day.

Traci M- Hands

The title of this image is Hands. I took this picture about a month ago in my kitchen. The picture was taken with my cannon rebel and edited with a sepia filter and changing the sharpness and contrast. To make this picture better I could have made the coloring in the hands darker.

Sean M- Sunset

This picture is titled “Sunset.” It was taken on Venice Beach in California. I like the photo because it has many colors because of the sun. The clouds around the water also added a great effect to the image. I wish the beach would have been more empty so that I could have gotten a cleaner shot, but that was out of my control. Overall, the image turned out great, and I really thought it was a great representation of the beach.

Zoya D- Ornaments

The title of my selected image is “ornaments”.
This picture was take on christmas eve (December 24th) at my sister’s house.
This picture was taken with my digital camera.
With editing, I used the spot healing brush to take out the marks from the floor.

I think it could have been better if it was taken from a different angle, or even if I moved the camera  a little higher.

Ryan W - Stormy Window

This picture is titled “stormy window”. It was taken as part of the reflections assignment, and i took the picture with my fujifilm finepix s 3400 camera. I really like this photo because of the way it turned out after i was done editing it. To edit this picture, i created 3 different layers, one where i changed the hue and saturation of the image to create the stormy look. The next layer i created the mask effect that you see on the tree, and the last where i cropped the image to the orientation that i liked. Overall i really like how this image turned out, and I’m hoping that i can get another shot like this soon.

Mason L - The Wild Wolf

This image is of my new dog that we got at christmas! He just sits and doesn’t move so I figured it would be good to take a picture. I lightened up the shadow that was in front of the dog from the lens. I edited the levels to make the dark a bit darker.

Cori J - Red Leaf

This picture was taken at Hoover High School on November 25 for the pick a color assignment.
This picture was taken with Mr. Rigsby’s camera.
I didn’t edit this picture because I liked the way the picture was just focused on the one leaf and didn’t want to mess with that. I also like how dark it looks but there are areas with bright red colors in the background.

It could possibly be better if I changed the hue and saturation and made it bright and if the two leaves weren’t in front of the camera.

McKenzie M-Cali

This is a picture of the view where I was staying in California. I named this picture Cali. I edited this in photoshop and it was taken on my phone. I really am pleased with this photo but I wish the sky was more clear.

Justin N- Frozen Frog

I titled this photo Frozen Frog because it is a statue of a frog on top of a frozen bird bath. To the right is another bird bath sitting in the frozen water as well. I think the only thing I would do to make the photo better is crop it a little differently.

Shreya M- Red Rose

The title of this picture is “Red Rose.” To edit this picture, I changed the contrast, exposure, levels, curves, vibrance, and hue/saturation. I really like it because of the way the rose stands out due to its brightness and the soft, blurry background. I think it could have been better if the petals on the rose looked more individual, especially on the left half of the rose. But overall, I really like how the image turned out.

Jack L- Fish Eye View

this is a photo i took of my two friends at my house with my new fish eye lens. It really gives a wide angle look at things instead of a tunnel vision view. Its 180* view so it really gets the whole room. I really think this photo could be better if i didn’t have my shadow from the flash in the middle of the photo.

Samantha W- Sunset

This image is titled Sunset. It was taken at a lake near a friend’s house over the holiday break. It was taken with my iPhone. I edited this picture by boosting the saturation and tweaking the exposure content a little. It could have been better if i would have taken at a time with better lighting.

Kylie W- Mercedes

The title of this image is Mercedes. This picture was taken in my driveway. I edited this picture by enhancing it and brighting it. I like this picture because I like the angle of it and the way the sun is hitting it. I think this picture could be better if the tires weren’t as dirty and the camera was more focused.

Jalin R - Leader

This is a picture of my aunts cat Tigres, i took this photo in her home in California during the day time. I took this photography with my iPhone 5s. I edited this photo by increasing the light exposure and saturation. I also blurred the whole picture and took focus on the window and the cat looking into the sun. To do so i used the mask tool. I really like this photography because right when i was snapping the picture the cat looked up into the sun and i was able to capture it. I gave it the title leader because the cat gives of the feel of royalty and power in the window.

Mary Kate B- Starlight

The title of this photo is Starlight. It was taken in my car a few days after Christmas. It was a car light on my window. It was taken with my iPhone and I edited it through photoshop. I turned down the saturation and turned up the contrast. I really like this photo and would not change it.

Lindsey H- Sunset

Sunset. July 4, 2013 and Loan Martin Lake. iPhone. Brightened it up. I really like it the way it is.
