Noah B- Emotions

I call this emotions. I took this photo about 2 months ago on a empty house XDdd. It was taken with an emotional Nikon D3200. I edited it by adding emotions and emotional aesthetics that are very sad boy emotional. It could be better if I threw in some more emotions and aesthetics :((((.

Jakelyn R- Under the North Star

The title of this picture is “Under The North Star”. I took this picture over a month ago by my friends house where she has a great view of the sunset. I took this with my Canon D60. I edited this picture by playing with the color balance to make the blue look a little more purple, and the vibrance. I feel this would be better if i was from a different angle and would get more of the skies and trees.

Rachel M- Worn Shoe

I took this picture in the studio. I like this picture because of the detail you can see in the worn shoe. I’m satisfied with how this picture turned out and I don’t think I would change anything.

Christy N- Flame

I call this photo, “Flame.” It was taking for the action assignment very early on. I came up with the idea by looking around and finding a candle lit up in my room. Then I figured it’d be cool to create a bigger fire and put some meaning into it. It was shot with my Samsung NX2000. I edited it a little bit by cropping it closer together and adding a vibrance layer to saturate the coloring of the flame. I think it could’ve been better if the fire would have taken it’s time to burn everything into ashes, because it took me lots of tries to get a decent outcome. Overall though, I’m proud of it.

Hunter F- London Calling- Night

The title of this photo is London Calling- Night, from the Architecture Assignment. The photo was taken during our Christmas break in England, while I was on the London Nye with my family. I edited the photo with some contrast, brightness, and added in some saturation. Overall, the photo is very good, although it would be better if it was taken at a clear shot.

Nick A - Over the Hood

The image is called,”Over the Hood.” The image is was taken at the Brookwood Mall parking garage. The camera was a Canon 7D EOS with a 18-135mm lens. The lighting helped the photo but i ended up turning the brightness down. I didn’t do much to the photograph but a crop, brightness, curve adjusted, and contrast.

Erin R - Agrabah Bound

I took this photo downtown a few Fridays ago at a cosplay event with my friends. We went as Disney Princesses, and she made her own costume (all of ours, really) which was really cool. I like this photo a lot because the angle is nice and the lighting was great; however I wish her face wasn’t as grainy.

Hannah L- Blessed Wine

I took this picture in the studio, its called “ blessed wine”. i took this with a camera that Mr. Rigsby had for the still life assignment. this photo took a lot of editing, I made it black and white then added some of the color back, then I brightened up the bottle and around the grapes but used lack to darken the outside to give it a glow look around the bottle and grapes. this is the final product and I really like it.

Allie B - Peanut Depot

This picture is called Peanut Depot. I took this picture for the architecture assignment and edited it by cropping it and increasing the contrast. It could have been better if it was a little bit straighter i think.

Lara M - "Deprivation"

The name of this image is “Deprivation.” I took it with my nikon d3200 in the studio. I lowered the saturation of the picture and lowered the brightness and contrast. I like how the picture turned out because its very dim and soft. The only thing I would change is maybe have had it more in focus and close up on the details of his face.

Grace H- Bokeh Lights

I used my canon t3i with my f/1.8 100mm lens. I used the AV mode on my camera and edited it in photoshop. In photoshop I adjusted the brightness, vibrance, etc.

Jacob M.- Competition Pano

The title of this photo is competition pano. I took this about a month ago for the architecture assignment in the competition gym. I did it by taking a lot of picture to make the panorama then boosting up the vibrance and making it darker. then i used the clone tool to fill in any blank spaces. I think I could have done better with the cloning  and taking more pictures to fill the panorama.

Grace C- D-Now 2015

I call this picture D-Now 2015.  The original was to warm and she looked red. I made the picture black and white and upped the saturation slightly.

Maricela J- Panorama

I took this picture downtown during our architecture assignment. It was taken with my canon t5i. To edit the picture I put the separate pictures together to make it into a panorama. I adjusted the brightness and contrast. I also added some saturation to give it more color. I think it could be better if the cars weren’t in the picture.

Zoey E.- Sunday

This is a picture of some flowers that I took on a Sunday. I was messing around on my camera and found this black and white filter, so I took some test images and i really liked this one. Although, the angle isn’t that great.

Kate M.- Tongue and Teeth

The name of this photo is Tongue and Teeth. I took it a couple of weeks ago of my friend in the main office of the school, I just cropped it really close so you can’t even tell where she is. I took this with my canon rebel t3. When I first took the picture the lighting was really bad and there was a yellowish light on half of her face which you can still kind of see but I was able to color over most of it. Other than that I mostly bumped up the contrast and messed with the brightness and levels. It could be better if I had had better lighting in the first place and if I were able to get her teeth right. I tried to whiten them a little bit but they ended up being too bright and I couldn’t quite get them to look right.

Tizoc J- Sky

This picture is named “SKY”. To take this photo I woke up at 5:30 randomly started shooting at what ever was in front of me as I walked outside. I used my Canon T5 and a fisheye filter. To edit the Photo i brightened and cropped the photo as well as made the colors pop more. I could have tried to get rid of all the grain in the photo as well.

Kerry M- PhotoBlog 7

The image I chose for my 7th photoblog entry is, “PhotoBlog 7.” I took this on my front porch for the composite assignment. I took it my nikon. I edited this by putting 3 pictures on top of each other, increasing the vibrancy, erasing some of the pictures and changing the opacity. It could be better if it was cropped better.

Alex H - Under the Bridge

The name of the photo I chose is “Under the Bridge.” It was taken outside Sloss Furnace a few weeks ago. In Photoshop, I edited the image to look more green. I also cropped it down a little. It was taken with my Nikon camera. I like how it leads back to the trash at the end of the tunnel.

Leah B- Red High Tops

The title of this picture is “Red High Tops”. I took this picture for the close-up assignment. To edit this picture, I added the filter called “fresco”, and from there I changed the contrast and brightness a little bit. The only thing I wish was different about this picture is the blurriness towards the right of the picture. Other than that I am very happy with how this picture turned out.d

Desha R- Ever Green

The title of my image is Ever Green, it was taken on a little island in Japan. It was taken with a Sony Alpha 5000. I cited it by highly increasing the vibrance o the photo to really bring out the green.

Lupita G- Rail Road Park

Took this downtown in the Rail Road Park. Its a panorama as you can see. I brightened the picture and turned yo the saturation. This would be better if you could see the train

Bella M- Rosy Cheeks

This photo was taken with a Cannon Rebel t3i during the fall. When editing this picture i pasted a picture of floors i took into Jilians face. i lowered the opacity so it would blend in and not be so harsh. This picture could be better if i had positioned the flowers to where they went with her face better.

Kristin S- Clouded Judgement

clouded judgement
I took this picture with my cannon rebel xs on the snow day. This was taken with the flash while my neighbors grand kids played. I adjusted the brightness and bumped up the contrast. I really like the way it look I think the cloud is a real cool effect.

Hub R.- Regions Field

I title this image “Regions Field”. I took this for the architecture assignment as one of my panoramas. This was Downtown Birmingham for those of you who do not know where this is. I edited this in Photoshop by automating the images and photo merging them.  I also cropped excess parts of the picture to make the subject better. I raised the saturation a little and made it vibrant to make things pop. I was pleased with the sharpness this image had in the end product. It turned out really nice but I wish I would of done it better on a bright day with clouds but I also don’t think I would of accomplished the same sharpness on a bright day. I hope you enjoy.

Jordan H- Color In

The titled of my selected image is “Color In” because the picture is of pencils and that is what you do with pencils. I took this at my house for the Close-Up assignment. I took this picture with my Canon Rebel t3i and edited it by boosting the saturation, contrast, and brightness. The focus was already on the dark blue pencil so to make all the other pencils blurrier I just applied the blur tool to the designated area. This could be better if it was sharper and more focused.

Justin H- Impostor

As you can tell this photo is called “impostor.” This is absoulty one of my favorite photos I have ever taken and edited. I was using my Nikon D3300 with a f/1.8D lens. In the editing process, I used multiple different techniques to achieve the old corrupt VHS/CCTV look.

Maria F- Kate's Eye

The title of this picture is Kate’s Eye, because of obvious reasons. it was taken in the studio in the back of Mr. Rigsby’s room, I took it with my Canon rebel t3, and I edited this picture in many different ways, first I played with the brightness and contrast, then I corrected some little things with the spot healer i think that is what its called, then I made it black and white with the exception of Kate’s pupil. I also inserted the Kate’s ring from another picture, to give her pupil that turquoise color mixed with the green. I am pretty Satisfied with this picture, i don’t know how it could be better but I’m open to any suggestions. :)

Lauren H- Worldly

The title of the selected image is Worldly. This photo was taken in February of 2015, in my back yard. It was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T2i. I edited by changing the background, and lowering the brightness of the photo. This photo could be better by having a cooler background with it.

Chris C- Dispersion

I titled this image Dispersion. I took this images in my neighborhood with a remote shutter release. I edited this images using layer masks and I removed the background to center the focus on the subject. I used splatter brushes to give the dispersion effect to the liquified layer in photoshop. This image could be better if I was centered in the frame and I used a faster shutter speed.

Anyul M- Glitter Hands

I took this picture last week while we where having all those delays for school. i took the picture using my Nikon D3200 and a lot of glitter. i edited in photoshop . i used curves to add more contrast and then i added the black and white filter on top.

Matthew M- tread

The title of the image I chose is “Tread”. I took this a couple of weeks in the studio in class. I took the this with my nikon D-50. I duplicated the back ground and increased the sharpness a lot.

Sara W- Wasp

The name of this photo is wasp. I took this for the pick a color assignment.  I used a micro lens so I could get really close up. I also used a nikon flash and had a friend hold it. I think the lighting looks very nice in this photo and by using the flash i got a lot more depth and I could shoot at F22 without using a high ISO.

Nick G- Rust

I titled this picture ”Rust” I took this picture for the close up assignment two weeks ago. it is one of the bolts on the tire of a bus. I took the picture with my Canon X1500IS. I edited the the colors and exposure to make the colors in it pop out more. I added some white on the left side of the background and darkened the right side with black. I think it would look better if it was not as close and less blurry.

Derek T- USA

My photo is titled USA and was taken in the depths of the night of the Big Apple. The shutter speed was quite fast might I say, to capture the pure neon and silhouette of the traveling New Yorkers. There was some glare in the sign which leads to different color flares and I tried to fix it in photoshop.

Cole M- Bookworm

The title is “Bookworm” because it was taken at the Samford Library. I chose this picture for the photoblog because of the grander of the building, along with the fact that I used the most editing techniques on this picture.

The composition and lighting in this picture add to the grander of the library. The richness of the sky along with the golden tint coming off the building compliment the power found in the building’s size. During my editing process, I learned how to use the clone tool to remove a crane which was behind the library in this picture. I also learned how to use photoshop to merge photographs into a panorama.

Brianna S- There's Snowone Like You

The title of this image is “There’s Snowone Like You”. I chose this title because I think it’s funny. I took this last week during the one hour we actually got snow. It was taken with my Nikon D3100. I edited by using a filter and adjusting the brightness and contrast. It could be better if all of the snow on the leaf in the middle was sharper.

Natalie S- ICEE

This picture was taken outside of my house while we were out of school. I took this with my iPhone 5s. I edited this picture by adding the same picture on top of it and editing it differently, making a contrast between the two pictures. I made the top picture more darker to show more of the details of the ice. I could have edited the bottom picture but I liked how its unedited to show the difference. Before and after. Overall i like how the picture turned out and I thought it would be cool to edit it two times.

Ben D- Nature Walk

The title of this image is “Nature Walk”. I took this photo in Moss Rock on March 7th.  I used a canon t5i with a 50mm lens for this shot. In terms of editing, I didn’t do too much. I just slightly edited the contrast and saturation, and added a slight warming filter. This photo could be much better if she was more in focus.

Madeline V.- Candle galaxy

This Picture Is Titled Candle Galaxy and I took it on the counter.  I edited it by cutting out the candle at the top that goes on it and the counter and then layering it on top of two different galaxy pictures. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out, but I wish that I could’ve made the candle look less transparent.

Emily D- Red Eye

This picture is called “Red Eye.” I took this picture for the previous assignment. The Close-up assignment. I edited this picture by increasing the brightness, contrast, hue and saturation, and vibrance. I also used color replacement to remove parts of the red from the rest of her face so the main focus would be on her eye. It could be better if the outside of the red in the eye was less jagged and more of clean cut circle. Overall, i’m happy with the result.

Ashley B- Downtown Pano

I took this image for our architecture assignment a few weeks ago. it was one of the panoramas i turned in. It was taken downtown sometime around 3:00PM. i liked this one simply because i liked the way the buildings looked, all the way down the street. if i were to change anything i’d say it would be to fix some of the uneven waviness of the first buildings on the left side.

Austin K- Sticks and Berries

This image is called sticks and berries and it was taken at my moms house in the family room with an iPhone 6. I just sharpened the image up and that is it. I feel that i could have arranged them a little better.

Crossan R- Starry Sky

This photo is titled Starry Sky. This picture is of the top of my house and the night sky. I took it a few weeks ago. I used a tripod and my Nikon D60 with a shutter speed of 1.3. To edit it, I just brightened it some and that’s about it. I like the way it turned out, but to improve it I would have more stars. I can’t control that though.

Meagan M- Book Pages

The title of this picture is Book Pages. I took this picture in my room for the Close-up assignment. I edited it by making the the background all black so the page stands out. It could have been better if I focussed on an important word on the page.

Blake S- 8th Hole at Ross Bridge

This picture was taken several months ago. It is of hole 8 at Ross Bridge.

Jeremy L- Kick Flip

This image, “Kick Flip”, was taken at Battle Ground Skate Park a few weeks ago with a Canon T5i, fisheye lens, and external flash. I edited it by taking much of the color away and adjusting the exposure.

Cross J- Nature's Eye

This picture is 3 pictures in one. (pretty awesome) i stitched them together in photoshop!

Carolina M - Hand of Nature

I  named this picture Hands of Nature because.. they’re hands holding nature?
I used this picture for the composite assignment. I liked this picture because of how the flower blends in with the the hands especially towards the end. I used 4 different pictures of hands, the flower, the sun, and the moon. I know this picture could be better, theres something i didn’t quite like about it but i couldn’t exactly figure out what it was. Maybe it was the overpowering greenness of the flower. Over all, its pretty good in my opinion.

Brianna S. - Glazing Waters

The title of this image is “Glazing Waters,” and I took it at the Preserve a few weeks ago with a Nikon D3200. It was taken in the morning so that there was enough light for all the pictures but nothing was too bright or overexposed. I had the f-stop at 5.6, ISO at 220, and had a shutter speed of 1/60 to slow everything down a little and give the water the hazy and flowing look that it has. I edited it by adding a black and white filter then adding in some of the color. I also sharpened the image a little more and adjusted the levels of it. I think this could be a little better if it was more clear on the right side of of the picture and if the rocks were more clear as well, but I like how it turned out so I can’t really complain about it.
