Chloe J- Groovy

I titled this image “Groovy” I took this a few days ago of my friend in my room. I took it with my Canon XIS. I didn’t edit it at all. It could be better if I had spent some time editing it and maybe adding some contrast.

Grant S- Pathways

This photo is titled Pathways. I took it inside of a construction site around March. I took it with my Nikon L840. I edited it by making the photo black and white except for the part where you find the door. It could be better if I maybe edited what was outside of the door by cropping the real part out and adding something else.

Molly B-Flower

The title of this picture is flower. It was taken on the photography field trip to Botanical Gardens. It was taken with my COOLPIX L830. I just edited it by adding one of the new filters to it and cropped out some of the background. It could be better if there were more light in the background.

Trey D- My Puppy

The title of my image is “ My Puppy”. I took it on March 31st at my house I my garage. I took it with mp iPod 6th generation. I used one of the new filters on Photoshop and add some more vibrance and increased the contrast. The picture is perfect just the way it is.

Wes S - Headset

this picture was named headset and it was taken inside Hoover`s broadcasting classroom after school one after school. I edited this photo by painting out a large portion of the background, applying the glowing edges filter and then painting the picture to adjust the colors. It could be better if it was more detailed and if i themed the colors a little better.

Jonathan T. - Snail by the Road

The title of this image is “Snail by the Road” because it’s a picture of a snail by the road. I edited it by cropping it and brightening it a little. It was taken with a smartphone. It could be better if it was closer up to the snail.

Dayne M- Beach

The title of this image is “Beach” and it was taken in Cocoa Beach over spring break. It was taken with my Nikon D5500 and I edited the image by adding hue and saturation layers. Other than adding the layers, I didn’t edit anything else about the image. It could be better if maybe there was something more interesting in focus, rather than just the blurry beach umbrellas in the background. Overall, I’m happy with the outcome.

Blakely W- The Sun

I titled this picture “the sun” because I took this when we finally got to the beach for spring break. It was sunny outside and a pretty day. I edited this by adding some contrast and exposure. I could have edited this better and got more of the car in it.

Ella P- Gigi and Papa

I took this photo for the spring break assignment on Easter Sunday. This is a photo of my Gigi and Papa at their house in front of their mantel. I edited this photo by adjusting the brightness and contrast a little as well as adding a black and white filter. I also added a mask to bring back the color to my Papa’s tie as well as my Gigi’s dress. I wish I was able to decrease the glare in the background but other than that, I like how it turned out and the simplicity of it.

Drew Foster- Wall-E

Wall-E this picture was taken at Botanical Gardens on the photography field trip. This was taken with a B3300. I edited it with a bunch of different things on photoshop. This could be better with a different setting. Wall-E is a good movie btw.
DrewF

Dejon F- Strange Fruits

The title of this image is called “Strange Fruits”. This picture was take at Jacksonville Square in New Orleans over spring break. It was taken with my iPhone 5s. I edited the image by adjusting the curve and add a warm filter on it. This image could have been better if I would have taken it with my actual camera.

Henry S - Pueblo

The title of this image is “Pueblo”. That means village/town in Spanish. This was taken on March 28 while me and my friend, Tovar, were in Mexico during Spring Break. It was taken with my iPhone 6s. I edited by adding more contrast and adding a film grain filter from that new NIK add-on that are now in Photoshop. I don’t know what I could do to make it better but I’m open to ideas.

Areez L- Escalators

The title of this picture is image is Escalators. This picture was taken at the mall a few months ago for the Architecture assignment. It was taken with my Nikon Coolpix L340 camera and I edited this picture using the Analog Efex Pro 2 software as a template. I also brightened the image and added some hue and saturation to make the colors pop. This picture could’ve been better if I was able to take it at a different angle.

Maison R- Garden

The title of this image is “Garden”. It was taken at Botanical Gardens when we went on the field trip! I took it with my Canon PowerShot. I didn’t do much to edit it but I did increase the saturation and change the hue to a violet color. I think it would be better if I centered it more or it there were more colors in the background.

Aania C- Meridian Horse

I titled this document the Meridian Horse because it was a horse that I saw while in Meridian on Spring break in downtown Meridian. To edit thisI put a mask on the outside layer of the horse and made it black and white and adjusted the levels on the horse until I got a little bit of an exaggerated burned color. This is my favorite one because the differences  in the color. The horse just stands out so much from the background.

Annemarie K- Flower

The title of this picture is called Flower. This was taken at the Botanical Gardens when new went on the field trip. It was taken with my Samsung WB1100F. It could be better if I got less of the flowers in the back maybe but overall I like how it turned out.

Alena D- Flower

This is a picture that I took over spring break at my grandparents. It was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T5. I did nothing to this image. It could have been better if it was sharper.

Daniel M- White on White

This photo is called White on White because the flowers are white and there is multiple of them. I took this photo at Botanical Garden on Monday. I took this photo with my Nikon D40. To edit this photo I blurred the background behind the flowers. To make this photo better I would have gotten closer to the flowers.

Alex Z - The Darkened Woodlands

This image is called “The Darkened Woodlands”. This was taken in Aspen during spring break with what I think is either my iPod or my CANON, you decide. I edited the photo using the new additions to photoshop with I think the HDR thing to try to make the photo more ominous and interesting. It could be better if the photo was more clear because of the blur in the sky which sort of ruins the composition. The woodlands may look beautiful, but when you’re in it, it’s dangerous, and worrisome. I took the photo trying to give an ominous feeling to the viewer, trying to get them to wonder and fear about what is inside, we don’t know what is in there, other than trees and animals, but what about a superior being of an animal? How do we know if there truly is no such creature? Enjoy guys. :)

Lana M- Flamingo

This is a picture I took on the zoo trip on April 11th. It is still a work in progress that I am going to use in my next assignment. I really like the colors and the pose that the flamingo is in. Also the background is blurred so it brings attention to the details.

Caitlin G- Flower

The title of the photo I selected is “Flower”. This was taken at Botanical Gardens earlier this week on the class field trip. It was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel. I edited it using Photoshop, adding saturation, contrast, and sharpness. It could be better if it was sharper.

Abby U- Beach Girls

This picture is called Beach Girls. This is a picture of my friends Bailey and Megan I took this when we went to the beach during Spring Break. It was taken with my Canon Rebel t5i. I edited this picture using colors, saturation, hue, and I used filters. This picture could be better if it was taken from a different angle.

Seth W- Darkness Setting

The title of my selected image is Darkness Setting.  It was taken over Spring Break at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama.  It was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T5.  To edit it I just adjusted the brightness and contrast and messed with the levels a bit.  I think it looks good the way it came out and I wouldn’t have changed anything about it.

Zack C - PhotoBlog Statement 6

I couldn’t create a name for this picture that didn’t sound arrogant or pretentious. This a iPhone picture of my house. This is my choice for PhotoBlog due to its monochromatic color scheme and white background. I think it looks really cool. I intentionally, during the taking of the picture, framed a cherry tree against the house to the left to prevent the shot from being a simple picture of a house. The tree adds an interesting variety to the shot that prevents staleness at least. The diffused, even lighting in the overcast sky really allows a consistent shade of pink across the house and truly makes the shot. My only real complaint is that some parts of the house aren’t pink or aren’t pink enough, and they were difficult to cover over, like the chimney-top. Overall, I really like this picture and I’m interested to hear what others think.

Willie R - Deer

This picture is just called “deer” because i don’t really have a name for it. i took this picture when i was in west Virginia about 2 weeks ago, i took it with my canon eos 300d, and overall i really like this picture, it isn’t edited, it could be better if the shot was just more focused.

Sam C- Uno

This photo is called Uno. It was taken in my kitchen for the still life assignment. It was taken with my iPhone 6. I edited it by adding the blur in the background as well as removing objects from the table that I could. It could have been better by removing more stuff off of the table and only seeing the uno game being played.

Chris C- 2nd Home

The name of my photo is called 2nd Home because I was at my best friend’s house and took it at like 7:00 in the morning when the lighting was perfect to me. I used this photo in the Panorama Project. Something that is wish was better was the grass on the left was merged a little better.

Dayne M- Neighborhood

The title of my image is “Neighborhood” and it was taken a few weeks ago in my front lawn. It was taken with my Nikon D5500 and I edited it by cloning missing pieces of the panorama and adjusting the hue and saturation layer. It could be better if some areas of cloning were not so patterned and if less of the yard was in the image, but still noticeable. Overall, I believe it turned out well, but it could be a little bit better.

Peyton R- Smile

The title of this image is, “Smile”. I took this image a few weekends ago with my Cannon Rebel. The ball is sitting on a deck rail right in front of my backyard. The only editing I did was taking some spots of dirt off the ball. The ball was just sitting on my garage floor by the wall. I decided to try and take a picture with it, and I think it turned out pretty good.

Briggs A- Which Lens?

My picture is titled “Which Lens?”. I wanted to use this picture for the photoblog because I thought it was cool. This picture was taken during the Still Life project in the studio. I edited this image by creating a black border above and below the image using the burn tool. I also cleaned the image up by adjusting the contrast and sharpness of the image. I think this could have been better if i had used the spot healing brush to clean up the black background.

Rebecca S- HooverU

No statement provided.

Trey D- Panorama 1

The title of the image was “panorama 1”. I took on March 6, in the morning before school. I took it with the iPod 6 generation. I didn’t do much to it but make the sharpness better and more brightness. I could have changed the contrast and saturation.

Josh C- Untitled

The photo was taken a few weeks ago at the super market and I used the nikon coolplx 9900s. The photo would be improved if I had a tripod.

Ryan M-Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

The title of my selected image is “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.” I took the photo at a playground in Ross Bridge on February 28th, 2016. I took the photo with my EOS 1200D digital camera. I edited the photo by cropping in on the two boys driving the jeep a lot but allowing a lot of the sidewalk in front of the jeep to remain in the photo. While the jeep obviously does not travel that fast, this photo is a freeze because I snapped the photo while the boys were driving towards me. The photo could be better if the right side of the photo were not so blurry, but that was because I was sitting far away and using a 2x lens attachment so I could take pictures without getting in the way of people in the park.

Grant S.- Chace Lake

My photo is called Chace Lake. It was taken in my neighborhood last week. I took it with my Nikon L840. I edited it by adding the HDR effect of surrealism. It could be better if I made the houses around it easier to view but I still like how it came out.

Jacob H- Nick

I named this picture Nick. It was taken a couple months ago in Tuscaloosa. I took it with my Nikon D90. I bumped up the color and sharpness of the picture. I like how the sun is coming through the trees in the background. It could be better if it was a little more centered.

Ifeanyi M - "Happenings"

The title of this image is “Happenings” and it was taken in my driveway. The sky is completely unedited, however the portion of the image underneath the sky was hit with an increase in brightness, and the image experienced a crop at the bottom portion. Also, the text is not a naturally-forming occurrence in the sky; I had to add that part. It could be better if I used a higher quality camera.

Daniel M- 16th St

The title of this image is 6th Street. I took this photo two weeks ago downtown. i took this photo with a D5200. To edit this photo i darkened it just a little. To make this photo better I believe i should’ve backed up a little.

Caroline N- Ceiling

The title of my select image is “Ceiling”. I took this picture at the University of South Alabama under the Moulton Tower a few weeks ago. I took this image with my iPhone 6s. To edit this picture I turned up the saturation to make the colors more vibrant. I also sharpened the image a little bit to make the details more defined. This picture could be better if i would have gotten more of the canvas/ceiling on the sides of the image.

Rajiv P - 428i Gran Coupe

The title of this image is “428i Gran Coupe”. It was taken in my garage, for the close up assignment a couple of months ago. I was taken with the Canon Powershot 160. I edited by turning down the brightness surrounding the backlight. it could’ve been better if it was take from the back and I got the whole back side.

Isaac N- Droplets

I really love this picture and it is so vibrant and poppy, that it really stands out to me. I edited it by increasing the saturation and making the hue a little bit more magenta to get the red to pop. I then added all 4 both the images together to create a collage. I think its really cool because it shows like the shots of the ink falling.t

Drew F- Mustang

This picture was taken at wold of wheels the second weekend of February. I took this picture with a Nikon D3300. I edited it with different layers and filters. This could be better if it were a little more steady.

CJ G - Horsepower

The title of the selected image is ’Horsepower’ because the car is the most powerful car I’ve rode in. This picture was taken in my driveway a couple weeks ago when my uncle came to town. I took this with my Canon Rebel. When I edited this I added text in the top left corner for the assignment. I also sharpened the image so you can see the rain drops. Along with that I did some color editing. It could be better if there was a little more lighting at a different angle. I love this picture because the car is so powerful.

Maison R- Rustic

I named this image “Rustic” because of the evident rust on the roof. It was taken in Old Town Helena for the architecture assignment a couple weeks ago. I took it with my Canon PowerShot SX410 IS. I increased the vibrance and saturation of some colors to make them stand out. I also used the dodge and burn tools on both the roof and sky. It could be better if I was at a different angle. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the way this picture turned out.

Sydney G- New York

The title of this image is New York. This was taken in New York for the architecture assignment. I edited it by turning the brightness up. This could be better if it was more centered.

Henry S - Nearsighted

The title of this image is “Nearsighted” because I wanted to make this pic look like what I see through my eyes without glasses or contacts. It was taken on August 23, 2015. It was taken with a Nikon D3200. I edited it by messing around with the contrast, vibrance and then by adding a bit of a motion blur. I used the history brush tool to clear up the signs on the side of the road to make them the only clear spots in the image. I’m open to ideas on how to make it better.

Briley S- Rock On!

This picture was taken for the close-up assignment in the studio with Mr. Rigsby’s camera. To edit this picture I painted with black to give it a more vignette look so that the rock would stand out more! I really like the way this picture turned out!

Eric H- "Da View"

This was taken last year around the end of winter in Selma, Alabama. I took this off of my phone. I edited it by adding shadows and clearing up the picture. I also changed the color and balanced the color. It could be better if I had taken it with a camera because it would have been a clearer shot but I didn’t have a camera on me at the time.
