Samantha W- Red Alert

The title of this picture is Red Alert. This photo was taken with a pintax camera. I edited this picture by adding a hue and saturation layer, and boosted the saturation of the red color on the emergency stop button. Next I added  a black and white layer, but masked the emergency stop button with the paint brush, and brought down the opacity of the black and white in the background to brig back some of the color in the background. This picture could have been better if i would have taken a little more time to really tweak every aspect of the photo such as the vibrance and exposure.

Traci M- Branches

The title of my images Branches. I took it at my house with a Cannon Rebel. I edited this picture by bringing up the vibrance of the leaves, brightening up the sky, and making the branches as dark as i could to make a lot of contrast in the image. To make this image better I should have gotten less green in the leaves.

Raphael F- Bottle Tops

The title of my photoblog image is called Bottle Caps. This photo was taken in the ceramics room of my school with my Pentax SLR. This photo was edited by reducing a bit the shine on the bottles and darkening the image somewhat to add to the detail and make the openings in the bottle more pronounced. This picture could be better if I brought out the color of the bottles a bit more instead of leaving them be. I like this image because the bottles are all focused in a line and it looks cool the way they are the main focus of the picture.

Bailey T- Dog Days

The title of this Image is Dog Days. It was taken at a Lake house on Lay lake after homecoming. I took this picture with my iPhone 5. I edited this image by taking away some of the saturation and highlighting the colors in Nick’s shirt. I brightened all the whites and made the contrast more prominent. This image could be better if i would have taken it from a different angle.

Iman S- Carson T Posing

This photo i took is called Carson T Posing. It was taken on October 14 at Hoover High School. This picture was taken with my Nikon CoolPixs Camera. This picture would be better if the two people were not sitting in the background. It would also be better if there were not so many things in the background of  the image like the books.

Tyler C- Jonah

This image is called Jonah and was taken at Shades Mountain Park. I edited this image by increasing the contrast and the exposure. This image could be better if the background was a little nicer and a had a little less noise.

Sean M- The Great Smoky Mountains

This picture is titled “The Smoky Mountains. It was taken during my backpacking trip in early November 2013. I like the photo because it encompasses a large portion of the mountains surround the trail I was taking, the Appalachian Trail. I think the picture turned out well, I just wish I would have had time to take a better angle to remove the trees from the foreground. Other than that, I am pleased with the photo.

Justin N - Looking up

I titled this picture “Looking Up” simply because my cat is looking up. I took this photo with my Nikon and I edited it by increasing contrast and brightness as well as touching up a few spots on the photo. i think I could have made it better if I had used black and white as well as possibly brightening the photo more.

Matthew E- Green Sweater

This photo is a tinted formal portrait called “green sweater”. This photo was taken October 18th in the studio. I edited the photo by making it black and white and then coloring in the features again. The photo could be better if the skin tone was more natural looking.

Jackson W- Sweet Home Alabama

The title of my image is Sweet Home Alabama.  I named this picture this because before every Alabama game we sing Sweet Home Alabama and almost everyone in the stadium has a shaker singing along.  For this picture I took down the brightness to add a little dimness to the picture and increased the contrast so the color red would be really vibrant.

Tait C- Orange Leaf

This photo is called orange leaf. I took this photo for our pick a color assignment. I took this photo around midday on my front porch. I took this photo with my Canon Powershot camera. I edited this photograph by boosting the hue on the leaf. I then had to touch up the leaf itself because it had a lot of black spots on it. I finally applied the black and white effect to it and I also turned down the intensity of it so some of the color would come back. Overall I like the way this photograph came out.

Melissa M - The Yellow Swing Set

The image is titled “the yellow swing set”, I took it in my backyard one afternoon.  I edited it by cropping in a little closer, black and white layer, and then restored the color just to the swing seats.  Which is what i was focusing on is that yellow color.  I also used this image for my color project, reason for it being isolated.  I really like this but i think it can be better by it not being so busy in the background, other than that I’m satisfied with the outcome.

Matthew C- Cracked

This picture didn’t have a specific title, I took this picture one day after i thought the cracks on my iPad looked really cool at home one day, I edited the picture buy brighting the picture and  i put the definition up and sharpened it up some more. this picture could be better if it wasn’t as bright as it is and i took it at a better angle.

Mason L - Yellow Fever

This image was taken in the studio with Kinsey using the studio lights as the only light source. During my editing process I added a black and white layer then restored full color to the paint on the subjects face. Then to give the photo a bit more color I had decreased the opacity of the black and white layer. I would have liked to change the lighting and that could have altered the outcome of the photo possibly increasing the quality. However I am pleased with the outcome.

Lauren S- Red Tree

I selected the photo titled “Red Tree”. It was taken in the school courtyard during class one day this week. I took it with my iPhone 5. i edited by bumping up the contrast, and saturation. it could be better by having a little more definition in the leaves.

Claye G- Baby Mitchell

I named this picture Baby Mitchell. It was taken in my yard about a week ago. I edited it by giving it more saturation and color, and also cropped off some unnecessary background. Im glad I got it while he was laughing, he looks so happy!

Cori J - BIEBER

This picture was taken on January 16, 2013 at the BJCC arena.
I edited it on Instagram but I’m not really sure which filter I used.
In certain places in this photo are blurry because I was moving (and probably crying) when I took it.

This was one of the best days of my life and I am glad I was able to capture it on film!

David K- Birmingham Barons

The image is called Birmingham Barons. This picture was taken in late August. This picture was taken with my iPhone. This picture could be a little better if the people in the front would not be there. This is my favorite because I really like baseball.

Ryan W - Sunset on the Beach

I call this picture Sunset on the beach. I took this picture in florida during the summer. I used my nikon fine pix s 3400. I changed the Hue a bit and bumped up the saturation to make the color of the sunset really pop. I like this photo, but the only thing that i wish was different would be that the trees right under the sun were gone.

Hope W.- Seth Enviromental

The title of my image is “Seth Environmental”. It was taken in my backyard for the Portrait Assignment a few weeks ago. It was taken with my Canon PowerShot SX500 IS. I edited by increasing the brightness and contrast. I also added a curves and levels layer and edited through those tools. I don’t think it could be any better!

Marco H- Ant

The title of this picture is Ant. This picture was taken in my garden on October 3,2013.
It was taken with my Sony Camara. This is how the picture came out and I did not edited bc it looks good just like it is.

Jacob T- Mountains Recolor

This picture was taken in Bolder Colorado during the summer. I like this photo because i really enjoyed traveling through the mountains. This picture has a gradient map to create the orange transitioning into the black and white layer. The picture could be better if i might have taken it at a different angle.

Isaac E-Stovetop Flame

I took this picture in my kitchen during the colors assignment. I took it with my Nikon D3100 using a 55mm-200mm lens. I edited this picture in photoshop, toning down the saturation of everything except the flames themselves. I boosted the brightness of the flame and of the reflection of the metal underneath. This could be better if I had increased the ISO and increased the shutter speed to make the flames a little more sharp. Hope you enjoy the blue flame!

Kelley M- The Eyes Behind the Shadows

The title of my image is The eyes behind the Shadows. It was taken in my kitchen at home, a couple weeks ago during the portrait assignment. I took it with my Nikon L120. I edited it by using two separate layers of brightness and contrast and i drew in the shadows. i also made the outline more visible in the dark. It probably could be better but i really like it the way it is.

Jack L- Fall has Arrived

the title of this image is “ fall has arrived”. it really shows you how much color is actually involved in fall. the orange is very smooth along with dots of black. their is also hints of yellow in there too. i didn’t edit this photo at all.

Mary Kate B- Moss Rock Fun!

This photo is titled Moss Rock fun and it was taken at the Moss Rock festival. I turned up the saturation on the blue sky and used a black and white layer to bring out the color of the trees and sky. I love this picture and it really shows how beautiful that day was!

Zoya D- Lamp

The name of my picture is “Lamp”
I took this at home.
I took this picture with my digital camera.
I edited it by making it more black and white, but also keeping it a little bright.

It could be better if I took it from a better angle.

John A - Sepia Landscape

This photo is called Sepia Landscape. I took it with a cannon powershot over the summer at the Warrior River coal mines. I put a sepia filter o it and edited it in iPhoto. I think it would look better if I had used a wider lens.

Ashlyn R- Red Rose

The title of my picture is red rose. For my parents anniversary, my dad sent my mom a dozen roses and i decided to take a picture of them. I took this picture with my Nikon d5000 and edited it by adding a black and white filter and painting back the red of the rose. I wish it wasn’t as up close as it is, but i still really like the picture.

Kinsey V- Morning Leaves

This photo was taken with my Nikon D3000 by the small park in front of my house on November 4th. I edited this picture by setting the automatic contrast and color, then bumped up the contrast even more. I also lightened the picture up a bit by bumping the exposure up, so the leaves and background were very noticable. I think this picture could be better if the flash had not of gone off, so there wouldn’t have been as bad of a reflection off the leaves. Other than that, I really like this photo and I’m happy how it turned out.

Molly P- Pumpkins

i took this photo a couple of weeks ago when i went to old bakers farm with my family. i edited this photo by making the back ground black and white, then increasing the orange color of the pumpkins. i also increased the contrast a little. i think this photo is my best because i really like the rustic look of the wheelbarrow mixed with the brightness of the pumpkins.

Shreya M- My Brother's Birthday

The picture was taken on my brother’s birthday, it was taken when my brother was cutting the cake. I really like that the final outcome of the image is fairly bright. The picture takes on a cheerful and kind of celebratory mood, because of the way he is smiling and posing in front of the cake. The lighting and composition help to enhance his face. They also help create depth in the picture for a more 3D effect. I really like the way the picture turned out.

Morgan C- Shelia

This picture is titled Shelia. I took this about a year ago next to my front door. I took it with a canon and I edited it with a lot of boosting and sharpening. I don’t really know how it could be better other than she seems too orange on her chest. I really like how her face looks though.

Hannah S- Orange Leaf

The title of this picture is Orange Leaf. I named it this because it is a leaf and it’s orange. I took this picture in my neighborhood on saturday. I took this with my Cannon camera. I first added a hue and saturation layer, and then boosted it with a yellow tint. I then masked everything other than the leaf, then I added a black-and-white layer. With this layer I colored the leaf in black, restoring it’s color. I think this picture could be better if the leaf itself were isolated. I am really happy how this picture turned out.

Meredith V- Suitcases

This photo is titled “Suitcases”. It was taken at the Moss Rock Festival a few Saturdays ago. I took this photo with my Nikon camera. I edited this photo my cropping it in half, boosting the contrast, and increasing the sharpness. This photo would look better if there wasn’t a chair in the background.

Logan M- Blue Vial

I took this shot on a white backdrop in my house late in the evening. I took it with my Nikon D5100. I didn’t do much to edit it. With Mr Rigsby’s help I changed the hue lightly and sharpen the glass. I probably should have used a slighter more open aperture to get a better focus on the whole vial. Overall I love this Photo.

Ashley G- The Bright Umbrella

I took this picture on my deck on Veterans Day. I took the picture with my Canon Rebel t3. When i edited the picture, I made the red more vibrant and made the background black and white. I like the picture as it is so I wouldn’t change anything about it.

Aleena B- Seaside

This image is entitled Seaside and it was taken in the Hoover courtyard during the portraits photo shoot. I took this photograph with my Nikon d80 and I retouched her face with iPhoto and bumped up the contrast and lighting to bring out the white on each side of her. It could’ve been a bit better if her camera strap weren’t in the way but I still love this picture because it’s sort of peaceful almost.

Diggy B- Royalty

The title of this picture is Royalty. This picture was taken for the Portrait project, and it was taken in Mr. Rigsby’s photo studio. This was taken with his Pentax K100D camera. I edited it by doing some facial touch-ups, and toyed a little with the brightness and contrast. I also sharpened the globe up a little bit, as well as reduced noise from the picture over all. It could be better if her right arm was more in focus. I really like this picture, and the concept behind it.

Allison S- Seagrove

The title of this photo is Seagrove. I took this photo while I was visiting Seagrove beach with my family this past summer. It was taken with my iPhone 4s camera. To edit it, I added contrast and vibrance. I really love this photo so I wouldn’t want to change anything about it.

Hannah G- Yellow

This is a picture of a yellow flower in my backyard that I photographed with my canon rebel camera. To edit this photo, I first started by increasing the saturation slightly in just the yellows within the image. Then i slightly increased the brightness and turned the vibrance all the way up. It could be better if the petals were all the way in focus as well.

Shelby A- Red

The title of this image is Red Leaf. It was taken in front of my house in the gutter. It was tank with a Cannon EOS Digital. I edited it with hue and saturation and then black and white then I colored it. I think it could be a little more red and a little more focused.
