Christine G - Ruby

The title of this picture is Ruby. This picture was taken a few weeks ago for the closeup assignment.  It picture was taken with my sony camera. I edited this picture by adding more brightness and contrast to the picture. I also added a new layer where i colored the frame of the ring with a light purple shade. This picture would be much better if the background was more smoother and there were no light reflecting on the ring.

Tajane C- Window to the Soul

The title of this image is “ The window to the Soul” because I believe that your eyes are the true window to someone’s soul and can reflect a lot about someone. This picture was taken in the band room during the school day. I took it on my personal camera which is a Canon Rebel T5. I edited it with a few apps on my phone and a few filers through photoshop. I feel that is picture could have ben better if I took down some of the color. or saturation, and made it look ore realistic and not so much that the eye color is painted on. I really enjoyed this project!

Tanner R- Rose

The title of this image is rose. It was taken in my room on February 15th. It was taken with my camera which is a Nikon 3300. I think it would be better if I brightened it up a little more and made the white flowers go around the whole flower.

Molly B- Playhouse

I named this picture Playhouse. It was taken at my grandmothers house around Thanksgiving break. It was taken with my real camera. I edited it by dropping off the edges, bumping up  some of the color and sharpening the picture a little bit. It could be better if it was lighter and taken at a better angle.

Nicole T- Fire n Gold

This picture is called Fire n Gold and it was taken a couple weeks ago for the close up assignment in the Latin Room. It was taken with a Canon Powershot Sx 150 IS. The eye is originally blue so I edited the eye making the picture black and white and coloring with red, yellow, and orange on different layers using the color blending mode. I also used a layer of overlay to define around the eye and brighten the white in her eye. It could be better if the areas above and below the eye didn’t have that yellow tint.

Mychael O- Coffee Beans

I took this picture a few months ago at my house and I edited it by turning down the brightness and adding some contrast. I could have taken it from a different angle to make it better.

Ryan F- Walk On By

The title of this picture is “Walk On By.” It was taken on March 4th, 2016 in the Lake Cyrus neighborhood. It was taken with my KODAK Z990. I edited it by changing the colors, lighting, and adding black and white effects. It could be better if the colors had changed better during editing.

Megan S- Radio City

This picture was taken a few weeks ago in New York City. This photo was taken with my iPhone 6, it is not edited. It could be better if I were to edit the coloring of the picture. Also it would look better if I was closer to the Radio City sign.

Gabi B- Missy

The Title of this image is ‘Missy” I took this picture of my dog for the close-up assignment. I took this with my Canon Rebel EOS SL1, using the macro setting. I edited it by brightening it up, which emphasized the detail. I think this picture could be better if it was cropped differently and the background wasn’t so white.

Blakely W- The Bluff

I titled this picture The Bluff. This was taken in Bluff Park at Tip Top. I like how I got a lot of the sky in it. I edited this by added a brightness and contrast layer and vibrance and i cropped it.

Seth W- Interstate Rush

The title of my selected image is Interstate Rush.  It was taken last weekend on a bridge that goes over the interstate on Lorna Rd.  I was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T5.  There are no edits done to this image.  I like how the image is and don’t want to change it.

Dejon F- Fleurs de pierre .JPG

The title of this image is called “Fleurs de pierre” which is French for stone flowers. This picture was taken at the art museum downtown. It was taken with my cannon Powershot Sx130 IS. I edited this image by taking out the flowers form it’s original image then putting it on an over lapping layer. I also put an a lo-fi filter on it from Instagram. This image could be better if there were more flowers covering the statue.

Alena D- Perfectly Red

The title of this photo is called “Perfectly Red”. I think it fits very well with this image. I took this picture outside in the courtyard for the close up assignment. It was taken with one of Mr.Rigsby cameras. I edited by bringing up the brightness so the colors would pop out more.I did have issues with the camera to focus on this object so its sorta blurry but I really like this photo.

Matthew R - Breckenridge Sky

This photo is titled Breckenridge Sky, because that’s what it is. I took it in Breckenridge, CO, a few weeks ago when I was skiing. I took it at about 10:00 at night with a Canon 6D and 10-24mm lens. I edited it, removing the color cast from the light behind me, boosting contrast, saturating the sky, and using gradient filters to add color and frame the image. It could be sharper and cleaner, but I think it’s a cool image overall.

Matthew W- Sloane Peterson Vibes

I named this image “Sloane Peterson Vibes”. It was taken on the parking deck next to City Federal at around 3:00 with a nikon D80. I edited it in photoshop some and then I used Instagram to add the orange hue. I like this image because I usually wouldn’t try to edit this as much as I did, but it turned out really well. If I had to re-take it I might get her out of the sun a bit so her face wasn’t so bright, but other than that I wouldn’t change a thing.

Ella P- Ian

I entitled this photo “Ian” because it’s a picture of my cousin’s friend Ian about to block the opponent from getting the ball and taking it down field. I took it a few weekends ago at my cousin’s soccer game for the action assignment with my COOLPIX L310. I edited this photo by increasing the brightness and contrast as well as sharpening the image in Photoshop. I really like this photo because it came out very clear and I was able to take it up close.

Kaley A- In the Sky

The title of this image is “In the Sky”. This was taken in a plane when I was on my way back from Alabama from Florida. I edited this picture by increasing the contrast and turning down the brightness. It would have been better if it was more clear.

Lana M- At Tip Top

I took this photo at Tip Top in Febuary, it was taken with a Cannon SL1. I really like the way all the trees and rocks work together. You can see a lot of Hoover from this view, mainly Ross Bridge. I think that creates a lot of depth. I used photoshop to sharpen the picture and edit the saturation and colors. I would make this picture better by trying to make the back more in focus. I

Matt H-Melting Clip

The title of this image is melting clip. This was taken during my advisory on February 10. This photo was taken with my iPhone 6s. To edit the image I increased the brightness and contrast in the image. Then I increased the vibrance and saturation of the image to bring out the subtle blue in the paper clip. Then I began adding filters. First I added a stained glass filter and made the panes larger as well as the space in between. Then I added a chromium filter and switched the layer to a hard mix layer. This allowed the color to shine through a bit more. I also added a mask to the chromium layer and decrease the opacity of the paper clip and the desk to bring out even more of the color. The image could be better if i used my normal camera instead of an iPhone camera. I really like this image because I was surprised that I could make a normal object such as a paper clip and edit it to make it look interesting.

Oryieon M- Baby Pinecone

This is a picture of a baby pinecone I took for the close up assignment. I didn’t add any enhancers or filters or anything. But i really like it because of how focused the image is on the baby pinecone and how nicely blurred the background image is.

Jonathan T. - Dramatic Controller

I call this photograph “Dramatic Controller” because it’s a dramatic controller. It was taken around a month ago for the Still Life assignment and it was taken inside of my home. I took the picture with an iPhone. I edited it by using the brush tool to darken the image, using filters to make it look like brush on canvas, reducing noise, and other stuff to dramatize the picture. It could be better if I fixed the shading of the bottom of the picture.

Areez L- Red Motorcycle

The title of this photo is Red Motorcycle. This was taken a couple of days ago at Von Maur in the mall. It was taken with my Nikon Coolpix L340 camera. I edited this picture by amping up the hue and brightness of the color red and cropping into the image. I think it could’ve been better if the background wasn’t so blurry.

Katie R- Krispy Kreme

This was a taken at Krispy Kreme a few months ago. I took this picture with my iPhone 6. I edited this picture by increasing the saturation and increasing the brightness. This picture could be better if the girl was more centered inside the donut.

Jacob C- Snapped

I entitled this image “Snapped” and it was taken in the preserve a couple of weeks ago. It was taken for the close up assignment and I used a PENTAX-K200D. All I did to it was increase the vibrance and saturation but other than that it’s exact;y how I took it. I like how it is now and the only thing I might change would be the angle. This was by far my favorite photo because I like how the branch is in focus and how the background isn’t.

Emily F- Flower

The title of this image is Flower. It was taken on a window sill at my house. It was taken with a Sony DSC-H300. I edited it in Photoshop by using Shadows/ highlights under Adjustments. It could be better if the whole flower was in the picture.

Bradley C- Da Eyezzz

This image was taken this semester in the photo studio.  This was taken with one of Mr. Rigsby’s Pentax Cameras. I didn’t edit this image at all it is straight from the original SD card. This image could be better with little more focus on the eye, or maybe putting the black and white filter would look clean.

Caitlin G- Eight Dollars

The title of the selected image is “Eight Dollars”. These 3 pictures were all taken a few months ago. The pictures of the bottles was taken at an antique shop called On a Shoe String, the picture of flowers was taken at school outside, and the pictures of the shoes was on a boardwalk at the lake. I edited this in Photoshop using layers, masks, blending, and saturation. It could be better if the images were sharper and edited more.

Chloe J- 980

I named this photo 980 because of the number on the wall, I took it at an airport a few months ago. It was taken with my Canon XSI. I edited it by cropping it and turning up the contrast. It could be better if I spent more time on editing it. But overall I really like this picture.

Alex Z - Band, A History Of Achievements

The title of this image is called “Band, A History Of Achievements”. I am a musician, and I just chose to pick this one because it is a symbol of many achievements the band has earned in its’ lifetime, and there is more trophies than just what’s in the photo. I chose to edit it in this way with a graphic pen to sort of make it like what most movies would call a flashback? It helps bring out the best in band, pretty sad that it’s kinda blurry though. No tripod, sadly. The composite and lighting add to the success of the photo because it makes the photo seem like a memory in one’s head rather than just a photo, even though it is a photo. In photoshop, I learned many different ways to use filters, and learned how make a mess of pictures into one compact photo, but this is just an individual shot. The challenges I faced from this project was trying to get inspiration, because at first I didn’t know what to take photos of, and I just chose that I should probably just take photos of what I have a passion for. Thanks for reading, and commenting. :)

Aania C- Faucet

The title of this image is “Faucet”. I took it in a bathroom during the close up assignment. To edit this, I put a textured filter on it and adjusted some of the levels. I think it could be better if it was a little more detailed.

Annemarie K- Flower

This picture is called Flower. I was taken on my back porch for the close up assignment. It was taken with a Samsung WB1100F. I edited it by saturating it to make the color pop and making it a little sharper. It could be better if the background was different but overall I like how it turned out.

Abby U- Hairspray

The title of this picture is called Hairspray. I took this picture in my house one day last week. It was taken with my Canon Rebel T5i. I edited this picture using brightness, saturation, and I sharpened it using the smart sharpen tool. This picture could be better if it was a little clearer.

Gage W- Tip Top

I named this photo Tip Top due to the location. I took this photo this past weekend. It was taken with my Nikon D3300. I edited the photo by making the colors of the sunset more saturated.  feel like the photo could be better if I got more of the restaurant in the shot. I’m really love this photo.

Vanely C- MK

This picture was taken inside my house on the couch for the “about me” assignment last semester with my Galaxy Samsung camera 2. I edit this picture by adding contrast and lowering the brightness. I also made the edges darker so it would make the gold in the watch stand out more. It could be better if I knew the different techniques I know now because the watch would look better and also if there was more focus on the watch.

Bradley C - “Da Branch”

This was taken in a yard near my house a few months ago. This was taken with my Nikon D7000. I did not edit this picture but it was a very cloudy day with a low exposure so the image came out dark making it look like it has a black and white filter. To make this image better is more focus maybe or a use of the rule of thirds. Overall I like this picture a lot.

Ifeanyi M- Colored Cubical

The title of this picture is “Colored Cubical”. It was taken at my house a few weeks ago with my iPhone 5s. I edited by adding brightness and contrast to the cube and small area around it, sharpening the overall image, and adding a black and white layer. This picture could be better if the glare was reduced from the cube, and if I added some spot-healing.

Jonathan T. - Love

I titled this image “Love” because of HK-47’s quote on the image. It was taken inside my house with an iPhone 4s for the Still Life project. I edited it by reducing noise and using the paint brush tool to shade regions of the image for dramatic effect. I also used the text tool for the quote. It could be better if the shading was done better and in less of a hurry. Anyways, for those who don’t know, HK-47 is a unique assassin droid from the Star Wars universe, specifically from the Old Republic Era in the Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords video games. In the first game, you play as (spoiler warning) Revan, a Sith Lord who had his memory wiped, and meet this awesome droid called HK-47. HK-47 is a unique model, uniquely programmed for assassination protocols. In the second game, you play as the Exile (canon: Meetra Surik) who was a General under Revan, and you meet HK-47 after you repair him using parts from destroyed enemy HK-50 droids. HK-47 becomes distressed about his model being copied in the HK-50 units, but that’s beside the point. Basically, HK-47 is an awesome assassin droid that has a good sense of humor. His humor is present through that one quote I chose to display through the image. I chose an ammunition box and controller for the subjects because it shows how HK-47 is from a video game and he uses guns and stuff. I wanted it to be a really dramatic photo with a comedic edge, thus the shading and the addition of the quote.

Grant S- Color-fall

The title of this photo is Color-fall. It is inspired by My Morning Jacket’s latest album cover. I took it when I was walking around my neighborhood area on Winter Brea. I took it with my Nikon L840. I edited by changing the photo to black and white and then adding a new layer and using the color layer option. I then continued to color over the picture with different swatches. It could be better if I was able to change the color of the sky in the top left hand corner. I like the way it came out though.

Seth W- Combined

The title of my image is Combined and it was taken in the studio last week with Mr. Rigby’s  Pentax K5.  To edit this picture I combined the picture with the light streaks on top of the regular picture wit the studio lights and did some minor adjustments with brightness and contrast.

Briley S- Willow

I took This picture with my Samsung SL720 back in October at Old Baker Farm. To edit it I used the color burn filter and painted with black around the edges to give it a more vignette look and painted with white to brighten up the center of the picture. This picture could be better if it wasn’t a candid so it would have a better background!

Eric H- Da Sunset

It was taken in Destin, Florida last spring break. I took this with my iPhone but it turned out really good for what it was. I edited it by adding saturation and shadows. I also played with the hue and lighting in the shot too. It could be better if it were clearer.

Rebecca S- Fire

This picture is called Fire and I took this a couple weeks ago at my house. I increased the saturation and added some black overlay. I also added a layer on top of a vase at my house and that’s what the black lines are. It could be better if you couldnt see the other artwork from the vase and it was just the black lines.

Trey D- Fruit Bowl

The title of my image is “ Fruit Bowl “. I took this photo at my house in my kitchen in January. I took it with my iPod. I increased the brightness little bit. The contrast and saturation were increased as well/ Vibrance was also used to give it more color. And I improved the brightness.

Christine G- Flower

The title of this photo is Flower. This photo was taken about two weeks ago outside my apartment. I took this picture with my sony camera. I edited this photo by brightening the photo and adding a quote. This photo would be better if the flowers were real and also if there was a fake snake underneath the flowers.

Josh C- Wheat

Wheat was taken a few days ago in the courtyard at this school. The photo was taken with a Nikon Coolplx and no edits were made to the photo.

RereH- Baby John

My photo is called Baby John . It is a picture of my best friend’s eye. I took this picture with a  Pentax camera. We was outside of Hoover High in th courtyard. I positioned his face towards the sun light so the color of his eye will show but not show too much. His eyes was also watering. This was the first picture iv’e taken with of an eye and i think it came out successful!!

Vanely C- Candle

This image was taken inside my room months ago. It was taken with a Samsung Galaxy Camera 2. The way I edit my photo was by making the background dark so the only attention was to the candle and also the candle was orignally white but I painted it over with some red and brought down the opacity to make the color red look more natural. I think my image could of been better if I would of sharpened my image a little. This is my favorite picture because it’s more focused more on the flame than it is on the wax part of the candle.

Areez L- Pepper Shaker

The title of this photo is Pepper Shaker. This was taken at my a house a couple of days ago with my Kodak camera. I edited this picture by enhancing the brightness as well as the vibrance from the candles. I think it could be better if there was no glare on the Pepper shaker.

Megan S- Flower

This photo was taken in my kitchen a few days ago. It was taken with my Nikon P610. I didn’t edit this picture because I like it better unedited! It could be better if the whole flower was focused instead of just half of it. The flower was in a vase and I just sprayed some water on it to create the raindrops.

Maison R- Converse

The title of this image is “Converse”. It was taken in the studio over the past week for the still life assignment. I took it with one of Mr. Rigsby’s cameras. I added a black and white mask, darkened the background, and brightened the logo. It could look better if the shoes were more clean but that would change the mood of the image.
