Grace A- Butterfly

The title of this image is Butterfly. It was taken on October 13th, 2021, outside my house on a lantana bush. It was taken with a Nikon D50. I edited the picture by mainly lowering the contrast, but then raising the saturation of the oranges and yellows in the butterfly and the flowers. I added a slight vintage filter over the photo to finish it. It could be better if a bokeh was added around the edges of the photo, but otherwise there aren’t any other changes I would make.

Will A - Misty Skyline

This image is titled “Misty Skyline” and was taken about 2 years ago on a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. I took it on my iPhone, and as far as editing, I lowered the saturation a bit and I also raised the contrast. Overall, I like the image, but the overcast, misty conditions caused the skyline to be less visible, but there is nothing I can, or would c

Sidney A- The Coolest K9

This Photo is called The Coolest K9, it was taken at Hoover high school in the courtyard on February 7th, 2022. It was taken with Mr. Rigsby’s Camera, I am not sure what model or brand camera it was but I didn’t edit anything about this image, just cropped it. I think this image would’ve been better if I would’ve caught this while he was in the air. Overall I really enjoyed this project and think this is a pretty cool image of our famous K9 obi.

Trevor P- Morning Coffee

This image is titled Morning Coffee, this photo was taken in downtown Birmingham at a local coffee shop at railroad park. I took this photo in the beginning of January, I took this image for the portrait assignment. As you can see this picture is a candid photo. This was taken on my Nikon D5500, the editing techniques I used for this image was very simple to say the least. I brought the contrast up a little and removed a car that was in the background using photoshop. I felt like the car interrupted the photo and the color pattern in the background. I really like how this image came out after the editing and really can't see anything that I could change about it.

Aidan P- Pretty Flower

I took this image at school and just like another image I posted I put it in black and white to bring out more detail. The flower was white and I didn’t really think it looked good with the dark green leaves. I like the lighting in it but there are a few spots with the leaves that are a little bit too blurry. I think the flower looks pretty much perfect with the position and lighting, but I do admit that there should be a few more things in the background to make it look better or maybe not. That’s just what I think. It was pretty well done and I’m happy with it.

Mary Mason P- The Best Night Ever

This  was taken at the BJCC on January the 29 , 2022. It was taken with an iPhone 12. I just cropped it a little bit. I took this photo at the Riley Green concert. Me and some friends went. And it really was the Best Night Ever. The song we did the flashlight on our phones to was I Wish Grandpas Never Died. It was the best concert!!

Isaiah M- My Bike

The image was taken with my phone. I add a filter that I thought was cool so adjusted it to make it look better. It could be better if was a brighter day. It is one of my favorite images I have taken so far for any project I like the way the bike was posed

Raven L- Tiny Thief

This image is called Tiny Thief. I chose it because I find it funny. It was a composite portrait that we did for a project. I had to edit out a bat and soften the outline of him. I could have made the images blend better but I like the non-realistic aspect. I look the background with my phone at publix and and the picture of Will was taken in our basement with my Canon EOS REBEL T2i

Gabby W - Rose

The title of this photograph is Rose. I took this photo in my kitchen sometime around September of last year. I shot this time with my Nikon 3100 DSLR. I added some vibrancy to the rose itself and darken the background a bit to take the rose to stand out. It would have been better if I had used several roses instead of one to add some interest to the photo.

Adam T- Shooting

The title of the image is called “Shooting” and it was taken a week prior toward the action assignment in the practice gym at school. It was taken with my iPhone 10 XR and I edited it by adding a black and white filter and increasing the definition in some areas. It could have been better if I used a better camera and a better shot in general so the main focus of the photo would stand out more and look better in quality.

Caeden H- Tired Tortoiseshell

The title of this image is “Tired Tortoiseshell”. The title is pretty self explanatory, my cat is a tortoiseshell and she was taking a nap. This image was taken in my house on January 16th, 2022. This photo was taken with my Iphone 12 pro. I edited this photo by increasing the exposure, color, and saturation. I also cropped this photo so that she would fill the frame more. I think it would have been better if I had taken it in natural lighting instead of with the flash on my phone.

Tyrick H - Late Night Drive

This is a Photo of me driving at night close to my house. I was actually on the way to the gym and I thought it would have been a cool picture to take even though it was very risky. I took this picture with my iPhone 11 Pro. I think it is a really cool picture and kinda gives off a chill vibe. I could have maybe edited this picture a little more than it was.

Marshall H -- Madoka Goes to Walmart

This photograph is called “Madoka goes to Walmart.” I took this picture for the “Action” assignment. Me and my friends went to various places as I photographed them in cosplay-- this one happened to be in the sports section in Walmart. I took this on my iPhone 13 and I blurred that background some. This picture has quickly become a favorite. I really wish the background was different, but in a gross way, I guess it adds to it.

Ani W- Bella In The Backyard

I’ve titled this image Bella In The Backyard because the photo was taken in my backyard over the weekend around 5 PM. I took this picture using my Canon EOS Rebel T7 camera. I first edited the photo by removing some of the leaves that were in the way and fixed the brightness, exposure, and contrast of the image. I could’ve cropped the image a bit more and used a vintage filter on it, but I honestly like the way it turned out.

Sydney R - Chester

The title of my image is, “Chester.” It was taken near the beginning of the school year for the About Me assignment. It was taken in my living room with my Nikon D3500. Editing wise, I didn't do much. I just made the blacks/shadows darker, and the brightness lighter in order to create contrast. I actually like the way the picture is!

Maddie T- Beetle

This photo is titled “Beetle” because it is a vintage Volkswagen beetle. It was edited with Adobe Lightroom and was taken with my Canon T-100. I edited it by muting the colors and adding saturation onto the pink. I think it would be better in black and white.

Tyrelle H- Dark Sky

The name of this photo is Dark Sky. This was taken at night during my shift at Panera Bread in Hoover, Al. I took this with my personal camera that I use for digital photography. I made sure to brighten up the exposure and the depth around the moon to make it shine and pop out more. I believe that it could be better if I made the background area more dark so the moon would pop out even more. This is my favorite photo that I’ve taken so far.

Nora G- Staring

I really like this one because the person in this image looks like they are seeing something that is behind the camera, and I like how it has that unknown vibe to it. Whoever is looking at the picture doesn't, and don't know what is in front of the subject and I think it looks cool. I edited it by changing the lights and putting a filter on it. The lighting could be better, yes, but I really like this one.

Connor G- Traintracks

I took this picture around the beginning of January downtown. This is a picture of a train wheezing by me and my friend as we were walking by the tracks. I took this with my phone. I didn’t modify it any at all because I like it better as is. I could have made it more centered and the focus could have been better.

Liv R - Beautiful Chaos

This image is titled Beautiful Chaos. This was taken in the studio with my Nikon D3300. I edited this photo by increasing the saturation and contrast. I think this photo could have been better if I had a main focus point. This image is all sort of the same level of focus, and I wish I had changed that. I really like how this photo represents me with the art supplies and flowers (plus I took these supplies from Mrs. McGrann’s room and I think that makes it kind of special). I had a lot of fun using the colored LEDs in the studio while taking this photo!

Santo F- Untitled

I took this picture at the Vulcan Park with my camera Canon EOS t7.

Teniyah M- Color

The name of this picture is Color and I took this picture at Dave & Busters with my iPhone XR. I took it around November Thanksgiving break. I turned down the brightness and added some highlights and a little bit of contrast. It could be better but I do not know what it is missing

Will A - Untitled

This picture is untitled and I took it for our Action Assignment. I like this picture because it took about 20 attempts to get the timing of dropping the balls and my camera actually taking the picture. When editing the photo, I raised the brightness and saturation a bit. It could have been improved by turning on the flash so the background was a bit lighter, but otherwise I really like it.

Tyler G - Deep In

The image I selected is called Deep In because this picture was taken after a two hour long walk into the forest with my friend Ryan about a year ago. I took this picture with his iPhone because he had a better camera. I edited this photo by adjusting the lighting, color, hue, and saturation. I also sharpened the image and messed with the curves and levels of the color. I think this photo could have been better if I was using a DSLR camera with more experience in photography and editing using photoshop.

Jonathan F - Morning Sunrise

The title of this image is called morning sunrise. This picture was taken on December 22, 2021. It was taken on a bus in Mexico. I took this picture with my camera. This picture is not edited at all. All I've done was crop it so the sunrise would be the main focus of the image. I could have dont it better by actually editing it. I could have also eliminated the black o the side.

Caroline M- Family for a Lifetime

This photo is called “Family for a lifetime”. It was taken December 26, 2021 in Chuckey, Tennessee. It was taken with my Nikon D3300 and I used a tripod to take it. I didn’t edit it that much I just upped the brightness a little. I feel like if I wanted to I could do a little more editing to make it look better but I like the original a lot as well. I love this picture because it shows my grandmother with all her grandchildren and I just think its a cute photo.

Brooke J- School Day

The title of this image is School day. I took this picture in the school courtyard around 3:20 in the afternoon. It was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T3 camera. I lightened the image a little bit and fixed some stray hairs. I think I could have made it just a bit more centered.

Hailey D- Faucet

This was taken in the school bathroom outside of the cafeteria. It was on January 31st with the EOS Rebel T3 classroom camera. I edited this by brightening it and making it more clear. It could be better if the color was a little different.

Betsey S - Bear

This image is called bear because it is a photo of a bear when I was in yellowstone. It was taken two summers ago while in Yellowstone for the summer. I had brought my canon rebel t6 on this trip and taken this photo with it. I edited it by bringing out the saturation, brightness, and shadows. I think I could take the shadows and make them a little deeper.

Ayla S - Sunlight

The title of this image is, “Sunlight” because it is a picture of a cat bathing in the sunlight. This photo was taken with my EOS Canon Rebel T6 camera. To edit this image, I cropped any distracting elements out of the background. This photo could be a little better if the cat’s face was in frame.

Britney P - The Bee's Cousin

This picture is called “The Bee’s Cousin.” It is of a wasp standing upside down on a flower. This picture was taken on October 7 of last year in front of my apartment. I was walking around my neighborhood with my camera when I saw a bunch of bees and wasps. I decided to take a picture of them because I wanted some close-up photos. It was difficult taking this photo because the bugs kept moving and the wind was blowing. Overall, I like the picture, but I wish I could’ve done better with the focus.

Martha Claire D- Pity Party

The title of this image is Pity Party. This was taken January, 8th, 2022 at my friend Mary Ryan’s house. We were both working on our self portraits when I took this. It was taken with my friend's camera on her Canon Rebel T6i.  I edited this by adding grain as well as decreasing the contrast to give a soft look as well as increase the saturation. I did this all in Photoshop, and when taking the photo I used a camera lens that was intended to distort the lights.  I wish I could have distributed  the background lights more so they were all over the wall instead of in one area. I’ve never taken a self portrait but this was a lot of fun to make and set up and I feel like it turned out pretty well.

Elizabeth C- Blue Skies

The title of this image is Blue Skies. I took this picture on a walk with my friends during christmas break. The picture was taken on my phone camera. I edited it by adding contrast and a little saturation with less brightness. It could be better if there was less of the dead grass and more of the sky.

Alex B- Tyrick

The title of this image is Tyrick. This photo was taken in the Library of Hoover High School at around 9:45 in the morning on January 20th, 2022. This picture was taken with my Iphone 11 pro. This photo was edited by increasing the contrast of the lighting and darkening some of the figures like the clothes and the floor around him. This could’ve been taken with a higher quality camera and probably should have been cropped a little for the final product.

Courtni D- September

The name of this photo is “September”. It was taken on my Canon EOS 2000D. To edit this photo I adjusted the brilliance, highlights, shadows, brightness and contrast. I also adjusted the saturation.

Alex B- Music To My Ears

I called it “Music To My Ears”, I took this photo in the studio on October 29th 2021. This was taken with my Canon EOS REBEL T3. I edited this by saturating the colors of lights, blurring and darkening the background. This could be better if the background did not have hair on it and if the side wasn't as dusty. This is my favorite pastime.

Jack LChristmas Ash

The name of this photograph is Christmas Ash. It was taken at my house. During Christmas time. I took this photo with my Iphone. I didn't edit it but I did use the portrait mode on the Iphone. It could be better by the blurring not getting half of her face.

Marshall F - Railroad

The title of this image in Railroad. This is a picture of a railroad track near my house. I used a big light and put it behind me shining on the tracks. I took this image back when we did the night and day assignment. This was taken with an iphone 13 pro. I did not do much to edit this photo. I am not sure how it could be better, but I am open to suggestions.

Brandon B- Destin Horizon

This photo is of the Destin horizon sunset on January 14, 2022.  This was taken with my iPhone 13 Pro, just off the path of the parking lot in our hotel.  I id not do much in the way of editing for this photo as I feel it's beauty has been captured naturally.  Just a few burn, dodge, and sharpening adjustments have been made.  The only real knock I would have is that I wish the wheat grass was more in focus.

Emily B - Baby Oliver

I named this photo baby Oliver because this baby is named Oliver. I took it at a friend's house a couple weeks ago. It was taken with my DSLR camera. I cropped the image so just his face was the main part and I blurred the background some. I also, edited the brightness and color.

Will B - Hoover's own Spiderman

The title of this image is Hoover’s own Spiderman. I took The background picture in the courtyard on Jan. 13 during class, and the second in my room on Jan 20 after school. I took the first with a camera borrowed from Mr. Rigsby and the second with my phone set on a timer. I cut out the self portrait as Spiderman with the quick selection tool and mask, as well as finer details with the mask. I flipped the image horizontally so that the light sources of the portrait and background would line up more. I also darkened the Spiderman portrait so it would blend with the shadows. I also blurred it some. My original image was actually not as clean as this one. I’ve edited this since the Portrait assignment to touch it up with lighting adjustments and blur. The only other thing that I would like to do to improve it is to have someone else in the foreground looking toward the background where Spiderman is. I really had a lot of fun with this.

Hellen A- Red and White

The title for the picture is Red and White. I took this image in the living room in august. I took it with my canon rebel t7. I made the picture darker and made the flower redder. I think I should’ve made the background blurrier.

Floyd G- Galaxy Projection

The title of this image is Galaxy Projection. I called it this because I used a galaxy light projector as the light source for this image. I took this picture in my room around 3 am. I took this picture with my iphone 12 pro I edited this picture by sharpening the image and turning the sautriotion up. This picture could have been better if I cropped out some the background.

Paris C- Distance

I named this image Distance because of the distance of the leaves to her eyes. It was taken at Hoover High School on 1/11/22. It was taken with an iphone pro. I edited by brightening up the environment around her making her eye color more visible. I like it how it is and think it could not get any better. This image right here is one of my best photographs that I have taken ever in my life.               Sincerely, Agent Craig

Jacksobn B- Headlights

The title of the photo is Headlights because the main focus is the front profile of the car and the headlights. It was taken over winter break in a parking lot of the finley center. It was taken by my Canon EOS 6D. To edit it I increased the saturation and darkened the overall photo. I think if I had less in the background it would be better.

Emily B- On the Horizon

The title of this image is “On the Horizon,” and I took it at the beach over Thanksgiving break. I saw the sunset over the ocean and I stopped in the parking deck to take this picture. I edited it by increasing the contrast and decreasing the light to make the sunset stand out more. It could be better by being at a better angle with less distractions.

Carol A- A Day In Paradise

 No statement provided

Grace A- Flower Bottle

The title of the image is Flower Bottle. It was taken on November 16, 2021, and in my bathroom. It was taken with a Nikon D50. To edit it, I lowered the saturation a bit and raised the highlights, and used the dodge and burn tool on parts of the flower and the bottle. The pink petals were very bright, so I made the color a softer pink. I blurred the edges of the photo and it gave it a neat foggy look, and it centralized the focus more. It could be better if the flower wasn’t blurred so much, since it is the focal point of the photo.

Bradley B- By the Pond

The title is By the Pond.It was taken on September 5,2021 at Railroad park the picture was taken with an iphone 11.I didn’t do much to edit it foreal. I feel like I could have changed the contrast of the sky but overall the picture is really cool.

Evelyn A - Faded Color

The title of this image is “Faded Color”. It was taken on September, 29, during the evening at Walmart. I took this photo with a Nikon Coolpix L830. To edit this image, I turned down the brightness and turned up the saturation. To make this photo better, I could have filled the frame completely with flowers.
