Ryan S- Graphic Zebra- Last post till next school year. Come back in September!

I took this photo during the animal assignment with my point and shoot camera

i enhanced this photo with iPhoto and used the effects to darken the image then I used photoshops crop tool to remove some unwanted background then I added the graphic pen filter

Traci M- PupPortrait

The title of this image is PupPortrait. I took this a few weeks ago in my living room. I tok this with my cannon rebel xti and edited it with a black and white filter. I brought up the sharpness and the shadow details to focus on the fur. I added a color layer and colored her eyes with a reddish color to make the image a little  more interesting. The only thing I would change about this picture is have more equal lighting to get more detail in her face.

Gauge I- Lamp

It was taken at my dads house in florida on March 29 at 7:47
It was taken with my canon powershot
I edited it my turning it black and white ad restoring the color back to the lamp shade

It could have been better if it wasn’t as dark in the room

Matthew C- The Light of God

The title of this photo is the light of god. I chose this photo because i like the way the light shines of the front of the church. I edited this picture by bumping up the saturation and brightness up

Molly P-Emma Cait

This is a picture of my niece Emma Cait. i took this picture at the pumpkin patch back in november. i edited this photo by selecting a black and white filter and adding contrast to darken it up a little.

Nick A- Mason Jar

the title of this picture is Mason Jar. this picture was taken over christmas break at the lake. to edit this picture i put a motion blur filter on it. i added a warming filter to the photo to add an old feel to the jar. i am really happy with my results.

Sydney B- Hidden Horse

The name of this photo is Hidden Horse. I chose this picture because it is one of my favorites from the Animal Assignment. I took this picture with my canon rebel. I edited this picture by adjusting the brightness, saturation and the vibrance. then I added a black and white layer then adjusted the curves.

Rebecca G - Candle Stick

The title of my picture is “candlestick”. I took it earlier this year at my house with my Nikon camera. I edited it by adjusting the contrast, making the picture black and white and coloring in the flame of the candle. I think the picture would be better if it was brighter and clearer.

Alex D- Raindrops

The title of my image is leaves with raindrops.
This was taken at my grandmas house in Ashland, Alabama.
This was taken with my Nikon D3100
This picture could of been better if the leaves and the drops been more focused instead of blurry.
The composition made the picture pretty clear and it stopped the drops from leaving the leaves. What made this picture really cool is the raindrops on the leaves and how frozen the drops look on the leaves.

Brooke F- Beach Panorama

My favorite image is titled Beach Panorama. I like how the sky looks as it goes from dark blue to the clouds and the lighter blue. I also like how I captured the seagulls flying over the waves. I like the contrast between the blue sky and water with the white sand. I increased the brightness and increased the contrast as well as the saturation. I like this picture a lot. Overall I have had fun doing this assignment.

Melissa M- Bird

This image was taken at star lake with my nikon coolpix camera.  To edit the picture I boosted the brightness because it was kind of dark, so this brought out some more details. Also adjusting the curves of the brightness given before.  I really like the angle that it was taken and I’m really happy with the results.

Hope W- Lion

The title of my image “Lion”. It was taken with a Nikon D80 at the zoo for the animal assignment. I edited by bumping up the brightness and the contrast and adding a levels and curves layer. I think it could be better if I didn’t have the line from the glare in the glass.

John Michael A - Zero

This photo is titled Zero. It is a metal door covered in graffiti. I took this photo in Chattanooga, Tennessee with my iPhone 5c while I was walking down the street. I edited it in Photoshop by increasing the contrast and color. It is kind of dark and creepy but I still like it. This photo could have been better if I had taken it with a real camera.

Samantha W- Elephant

I titled this image Elephant. I took this picture at the zoo with a Nikon Coolpix L110. I edited this picture by adjusting the hue of the elephant, adding a black and white filter to the background, and manually adding a vignette. It could have been better if it would have been a little more sharp.

Sean M- Lemur

This picture is titled Lemur. It was taken on Saturday, April 19th, at the Birmingham Zoo. The image is largely unedited, but I did crop out some of the background in order to focus the image more upon the lemur. I also added a filter, with gave the image more of a sketch feel, but retained much of the detail.
I really like the way this image turned out, and I don’t think there is much that could have been done better.

Matthew E- Street Light

This photo is called street light. This is a combination of three photos one of the sky, another of the street light and finally an up-shot of a tree. I edited this photo by changing the layer properties i also made the image brighter and added some vibrance and saturation. I really like this photo and would not change anything.

Claire A- LA Street

I took this picture on spring break in California when we were walking to Starbucks from Venice Beach. I edited it by adjusting the brightness, contrast, vibrance, and exposure. I also added a filter on it.

Mason L - The Eye of the Tiger

I took this picture while I was at the zoo and had to shoot through glass. I was lucky the glass was kind of clean but managed to clean up and hide the glass in photoshop my darkening the picture. The picture did not require much editing but I did sharpen it, increase contrast, and apply light vignette.

Karley K - New York Times

This composite is titled “New York Times” and I made it by putting together pictures from my trip to New York in December. All of the pictures were taken with my iPhone 5. After I put the pictures together, I increased the contrast and messed around with the saturation and colors to give it the blue and purplish hue. I worked really hard on this picture and am very pleased with it.

Claye G- Ocean

I took this picture over spring break in Destin, Fl. I used my iphone to take it and used the app Aviary to filter it. I like how you can see the bubbles coming up. I wish it was less blurry in the back.

Shreya M- Ferris Wheel

To edit this image, I increased the brightness and contrast, adjusted the levels, adjusted the curves, increased the exposure, decreased the vibrance and saturation, and increased the hue. I really like the effect of the clouds in the image and the way the ferris wheel seems to be reaching towards it. I also really like the subtle contrast between the subject and the background. The composition of the ferris wheel makes it look more grand because the sky is the only thing visible in the background. The lighting makes the image look bright and attracts attention. In this image, I’m really attracted to the fact that the clouds are soft and puffy, whereas the ferris wheel is angular and straight.

IsaacE- Flowers

This Image is titled “flowers,” mainly because i couldn’t come up with a creative name. This picture was taken with my Nikon D3200, at 46mm zoom, an f-stop of f/10, and a shutter speed of 1/6 of a second. I used a tripod with this image, along with a single light source to get the exposure gradient across the flowers. I found these flowers i my back yard, and put them in a dark colored vase. The way the single light source and the dark room combine to make the flowers appear to float i cool. the only thing i would change about this image was if the entire group of flowers were in focus.

Allison S- Brick Building

The title of my selected image is “Brick Building”. I took this when I was in downtown Birmingham a couple weeks ago. I took this with my Canon SL1. I increased the contrast quite a bit on this this photo and played with the curves some. I really like the angle I took this at and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

Nick F- Flamingo jpg

The title of my picture is flamingo. The picture was taken at the Birmingham Zoo early one saturday morning. I took the picture with my Nikon D40. I edited the picture by increasing the brightness just a little bit and upping the vibrance to bring out more of the color. I would not change this picture at all, I really like how it turned out.

Mary Kate B- Oak Mountain Layers

This image was taken on Easter with my Canon camera. I took it at Oak Mountain State Park and all of the layers were taken there. I added a flower layer and put it in the lens of the camera to add a focal point in the picture. I also added a tree layer at the bottom. I really like this photo.

Tyler C- The View

This image is titled The View because it was taken at The Club during pictures for prom. The picture was taken with my iPhone 5c and I edited it by increasing the color of the sunset. This picture could be better if there was more light in the foreground.

Leah R- Samson, Alabama

I took this in Samson, Alabama
On a tree farm with my Canon T5i

Editing i just played with the exposure.

Hannah S- Froggy

This picture is titled Froggy because it is of a cute little frog. I took this at the Birmingham Zoo. I brightened the photo and raised the saturation and but a sharpen filter on it. I love how this picture turned out.

Kelley Mills- The Things I've Seen

It was taken at the Birmingham Zoo, like last week when the weather was actually nice. It was taken with my Nikon DSLR with the telephoto lens. i edited it with a black and white filter and a sharpening filter. I think it could be better it he, the elephant, looked directly at me.

Jackson W- Pony

The picture I chose is titled Pony.  I named it this because it is a picture of a pony.  I took this photo at Oak Mountain State Park on a Saturday for the Animal Assignment.  To edit this picture I increased the brightness and contrast and also the saturation and vibrance to add more color to the picture.  I used my Nikon camera to take this picture and really like the way it turned out.

Ashley G- Blue Wings

This is called Blue Wings. It is a composite photo made up of the sky, a diamond and the embroidery on a tray. I took all of the pictures used in this composite during the afternoon when the sun shined through the glass. I took the photos with my Canon T3 Rebel. I like how this picture turned out. It has an icy feel to it.

Jacob T- Spring Break

The photo is titled Spring Break. This photo was taken over spring break near lay lake. I took the photo with a cannon rebel and edited it with photoshop. I boosted the saturation of the yellows in the picture to bring out the sun rays and the boosted the saturation over all, I also boosted the brightness of the picture to make the sun rays stand out a little better as well. Over all i like the photo and how it turned out.

Ashlyn R- Giraffe

This picture is my absolute favorite because I love giraffes so much! They are definitley my spirit animal. I took this picture with my Nikon D5000 at the Birmingham Zoo last week. All I really did to edit this picture was to turn the contrast up to make the colors stand out a little more. The greenery around the Giraffe also makes the pattern of its skin stand out. Overall, the picture turned out well and I wouldn’t change much about it.

Tait C- Fire and Water

This picture was part of the composite assignment. The picture is three separate images all taken with my Canon Powershot camera. Two of the pictures were taken at Tannehill State Park and the third was taken while I was riding in my car back during vacation. To edit this photograph I placed the pictures on top of each other and then played with the opacity of each. I then tweaked the hue and saturation to bring out more of the color. The final thing I did was to clone some parts of the picture to make it look like it belonged. This is one of my favorite pictures of the year.

Shelby A- Yellow Flower

The title of this is Yellow Flower. It was taken at my aunts house over spring break. It was taken with my Canon EOS. I edited it with the hue and saturation layer then with the black and white layer. I wish it was a little more focused. Over all I am very happy with this photo.

Mary C- Shack in the Woods

This picture is a composite I made titled shack in the woods. This is made up of four pictures, a bon fire, some snowy mountains in Colorado,a picture of the woods and an old house/shack in North Carolina. I really like how his turned out, it kind of looks like a mysterious abandoned house.

Bailey T- Bry

This image is called Bry. I took this picture at my friend Bryants house. I took this picture with a nikon camera. I did a composite image and combined his face with some leaves taken in my front yard. I then changed the color and saturation to subtract. This image could have been better if I would have cropped in more on the eyes and lips.

Zoya D- Peacock

My favorite picture is called “Animals 4”.
This picture was taken outside my friend’s house in Florida.
This picture was taking with my iPhone.

I really like the picture the way it is.
