Alondra P.- Immortal Time

This was taken one Friday night at Sears inside the Riverchase Galleria Mall. This was taken from my iPhone 5s’s camera. I later edited and fixed it by adding color, moving around the exposure, contrast, saturation, tints, shadows, while emphasized different areas and adding layers of symbols. This was all made possible by three different paid apps on my phone. Those apps being Union, Mextures, and Facetune. I really enjoyed playing around and coming up with this piece at the end. I’m really satisfied with this shot and I couldn’t imagine it any better.

Hannah W- Simple Perfection

The title of this image is “Simple Perfection.” It was taken the week of April 13th at my house. I picked a flower and held it to the sky so that there would be a white and simple background to bring out the subtle pink of the flower. It was taken with my Nikon D-3100. I edited it by adding some vibrance to make the middle stand out in contrast to the majority of the photo that is white. It could be better if I had made the whole flower in focus instead of just the middle.

Davis D-Ttown

The title of this image is called Ttown. I took this picture last weekend during spring break. I took this panorama with my iPhone 6 and I think it turned out very good. I didn’t edit this picture too much besides turning the contrast on the photo up a bit. This photo could be better if the light pole wasn’t in the way of the shot.

Crossan R- Sublime

This photo is titled Sublime. I gave it that title because we were listening to them when I took this. It’s also just a pretty nice word. I took it a few weeks ago at Moss Rock using my Nikon D60. To edit it I just bumped up the vibrance and saturation some and messed with the levels. I like the way it turned out but I wish I had set up the shot a bit better so my friend in the blue and red rug was more towards the center, then the focus could be more set on a subject. But because I didn’t do anything to set up this shot, I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Bailey D- Beach Heart

This photo is called beach heart and it is a combination of two pictures I took while I was in gulf shores over spring break. I put the picture of the girls on top of the beach sunset picture. It could be better if the sand as not as dark and if the sunset had been a little bit more colorful.

Nick A- Water on Fire

This photo is called, “Water on Fire.” It was taken a few weeks at my lake house with a Canon 7D. It was right at sunset and is one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken. I edited it by cropping and adjusting the colors with hue and saturation as well as vibrance.

Cole M- Rays

The image I chose for my favorite is “Rays”. I chose this image because of the overall quality and the vibrant rays the sun is emitting. This picture was taken during my spring break trip to the beach. I like the way that the sun’s glare illuminates the back of the model’s hair.

For editing, I simply increased the contrast and slightly decreased the brightness. I also cropped the image so that the model’s hair and the sun would be the focus of the image.

Kate M- Bees

The title of this picture is bees, I named it that because the tree in the picture was covered in bees. I took it over Spring Break in my front yard. I took this picture with my canon rebel t3. To edit this picture I made it a little brighter and added more contrast. I also adjusted the levels and made it less vibrant but more saturated. This picture could be better if there wasn’t a house in the background and if I had been able to get more than one bee in the picture because there were tons.

Emily D- Vintage Beach

The picture I chose for the photo blog is called “Vintage Beach.” This picture was taken over spring break at Fort Walton beach. We were just spending time out on the beach, walking along the pier staring out at the beach. I took this picture with my Canon PowerShot SX50 HS. To edit the picture I increased the vibrance and decreased the saturation. Overall, I like the dullness yet slight color throughout the image. It could have been better if the image was more focused and clear.

Christy N- Stalker

This photo was taken in my home beside my window. I didn’t sketch the mark, I noticed it was there while going about day. Because it resembled an eye, I chose to call it “Stalker.” It was taken with my Samsung NX2000. I simply added a filter to it for a popping effect.

Chris C- Savior's Salvation

I named this Photo Savior’s Salvation as it reminds me of Jesus looking down on the crowd from the cross. My friend Rachel took this photo of me with my Canon t5 because no one else would model for this shot so i volunteered. I took a bunch of stuff out of the photo like the wall between the windows ( this was taken on the stair case on D hall ) and the railings. Then i copied the left side of my body and pasted it twice and flipped one half and put the together. i used brushes to get the dispersion effect. i think this picture could be better if i spent al= little more time perfecting the keels and curves.

Derek T - #Hipster

This photo is titled #Hipster lol and was taken in Moss Rock in the afternoon. Clearly you can see it is a tad bit photoshopped with the colors and such.

Katie J- Stripes and Sand

The title of my picture is Stripes and Sand. It was taken in Gulf Shores over spring break. it was taken with my nikon 3200. I edited it by adding more color, brightness, and vibrance to the image. it could be better if the horizontal and vertical lines were more lined up.

Amber S- Action

I took this picture in the courtyard of Hoover High School. I really like all the colors in the image. The colors are very vibrant and bright. I also like the angle the subject is to the camera, I was kind of under her with the camera. I do not think she was aware that I was taking the picture so that made the photo look a little less posed. I think the sunlight on her face really gives the picture a natural look. I found that shooting action shots was a very tedious process and everything has to kind of be perfect timing. I liked how the majority of my shots turned out overall. I think this picture could have been taken two seconds earlier and her face would have been facing the camera more.

Carolina M- “I whip my hair”..side to side?

“I whip my hair”..side to side?
I originally took this picture for the portrait assignment but ended up using it for the action assignment. I used the clone tool a lot to make the background solid and had a lot of layers of brightness and contrast to get specific areas. I liked this picture for various reasons but mostly because it was fun to take. The only thing i didn’t like about this picture was the random gap between her hair but everything else was pretty good.

Elizabeth R.- Navarre Escape

The title of this image is Navarre Escape because I took this picture while on spring break at Navarre Beach. I took this picture with my Cannon Rebel. I edited it by increasing the saturation, vibrance, contrast, and brightness. This picture could be better if it was zoomed in more on the umbrella.

Grace H- Nature

I tilted this photograph “Nature.” I took this photo during spring break. I really like this photo because of the sun streaming through the branches. I edited this in photoshop. I adjusted the highlights, shadows, vibrance, etc. I really like the vibrance in this photo and the texture of the tree branches.

Cross J- The Church

I edited this picture in photoshop. Adjusted saturation or contrast to improve the photo.

Nancy N.- Quad

This photo is called “Quad” because it is of the main quad at Stanford University in California. This photo was taken over spring break on a college visit. I really like the dark side on the left contrasted with the light on the right. The angle I took the photo really exaggerated the size of the buildings which also added to the success of perception on the photo.

Zoey. E- Bee-utiful

This is a picture I took in my front yard during Spring Break. I intended to just take pictures of the purple flowers, but then a bee came along and I thought it would make a very pretty Spring- like image.

Alice B- Darts

The title of the photo is Darts. It was taken in my room when I was doing the action assignment. It was taken with my Nikon L830. I cropped it and blurred the dart more than it was. It could have been better if I took it at a different angle, but I had to use the bookshelf as support underneath it because I had to throw the dart and take the picture at the same time. I had to take multiple pictures and this was the best I could do.

Jordan H- Glowing Waters

The title of my selected image is “Glowing Waters.” I took this picture for the action assignment in my home. I took this photo with my Canon Rebel t3i. To edit this, I mainly added the glowing edges effect, and increased the contrast and brightness. This image could be better if the initial picture was more in focus, but I am happy with the results.

Allie B - Paddle Boarding

I took this picture when I was at the beach over spring break when I went paddle boarding. this picture could have been better if it were clearer and taken on my camera instead of my phone.

Hannah L- Fort Morgan

This picture is called Fort Morgan, I took it in gulf shores at Fort Morgan. I edited it by enhancing the brightness, the contrast and i colored over some of the brighter areas with black. This image could be better if the left side wasn’t so bright but overall this is my favorite picture.

Brianna S. - Watermelon

I titled this picture “Watermelon” because…Beyonce. It’s the last Photo Blog so why not have some fun with the title.? It was taken in Florida around September last year with my Nikon D3200. It could be better if the clouds in the background weren’t so exposed, but all I did to edit this photo was enhance the colors a little bit, a few touch ups, and that’s it, so I’m very satisfied on how it turned out.

Chris B- The View

The View - I took this with my phone from my bed in Costa Rica on Spring Break. I like the view because it is beautiful and don’t worry, I had a #HHSCleanBreak

Tizoc J- Liquid Grapes

I chose this photo “Liquid Grapes” because i like still life photos with a melted look. to edit this picture i lightened it up and then went crazy hand with the liquify tool.

Rachael M- Abandoned Chuch

I took this picture downtown for the architecture project. I like this picture because it looks rundown, which it is, and the bushes are overgrown and dead which works well with the rundown building.

Anyul M- Walking on The Music

i took this picture a while ago with my nikon D3200 then cropped the picture from the bottom because it had some empty space. I used photoshop to edit it . I didn’t really do much to it  but takeaway some of the shadows because it was going to become black and white.

Brianna S- PhotoBlog #8

The title of this image is “PhotoBlog #8”. I used this for the action assignment. I took this on my street a few weekends ago. I took this with my Nikon D3100. I edited it by making the background a little busier. It could be better if the background was more interesting.

Matthew M- The Bay

The title of this image is “The Bay”. I took this picture over spring break. I was standing on top of this look out point looking over the bay. I took this picture with my iPhone. I decided not to edit it because i liked the colors in the original photo.

Alex H - Cowboy

The title of this image is “Cowboy.” It was taken over Spring Break in Dallas, Texas. I edited this picture to be black and white and I also made the background brighter. I like the point of view used for this picture. I think it looks better in black and white than it did in color. It could be better if it hadn’t been taken with my phone.

Nick G - Bubbles

I titled this “Bubbles” it was taken over spring break in the Bahamas. I went snorkeling at a reef, I took this with a GoPro Hero3. I thought it was cool and abstract with all of the bubbles and reflections. I edited this by changing the Hue/Saturation and vibrance and leaned up the photo a bit.

Jeremy L- Five-0

I titled this picture “Five-0”. It was taken several weeks ago at Battle Ground Skate Park with a Canon T5i and Opteka fisheye lens. I edited it by taking away the majority of the color and changing the remaining color.

Ben D- Wreath

The title of this image is “Wreath.” I took this photo on Christmas Day using a Canon T5i with a 50mm f/1.8 and an external flash. I placed the flash behind the wreath in order to create a high contrast area on the wreath.

Leah B- Kicking Color

This picture is called “Kicking Color”. The colorful swirls are a long exposure picture of my little cousins toy. The other picture is just simply my sister doing a back tuck on the beach. To edit this, I made it into a composite, then added contrast and saturation. One thing I would like to be different is for her body to be all black, instead of having a little color too it. Overall, I am very very happy with how this picture turned out.

Meagan M- Drop

The title of this picture is Drop. I took this picture from the sink in my bathroom because it never stops dripping. I really like the way this picture turned out. I didn’t do much editing to this picture except make it black and white. It probably could be better if it was a little less blurry at the bottom.

Madeline V.- Track & Shops Sketch

My picture is titled, Track & Shops Sketch, and I took it during spring break in Texas at this old west thing they have there(it was really cool, I definitely recommend it).  I chose this picture for the photoblog because I really like how I was able to get the photo to look like a sketch that someone wasn’t quite finished with yet.  I edited it by doing one of the filters on it and then just messing around with the color and brightness/contrast after I put the filter on the photo.  I’m really happy with the way it turned out, but I wish that I could’ve put some color on more of the beams.

Ashley B- Spring Break Composite

There are 3 total images in this one photo. The first one is the stone tunnel with water running underneath, which can be clearly seen in the bottom left hand corner. This one specific image is also where all the trees and the brick wall come from. The second photo is a picture of my dog named Gunner. The third one is a picture of the sky at sunset, with a few dark trees on the outer edge of the image. Those are what makes something like an “L” shape in the left, bottom, corner. All 3 of these pictures were taken in Ross Bridge and i combined them together in photoshop. If i could figure out how to make my dog stand out a little more, i think that would greatly improve it, but overall it’s a decent photo.

Lupita G - Architecture 2

I took this downtown. I added a lot of layers so the sky wouldn’t look white and to add an effect to the picture. I also changed the contrast.

Carmen V-Birds

I took this picture at Gulf Shores in the morning during spring break. I took it with my Canon EOS T5 Rebel. I edited it by copying the bird and then I pasted 2 birds. I added the halftone pattern filter.
It could have been better to me if the birds were flying up. The sun was rising so it made the scene way better.

Bella M- PhotoBlog 8

This photo was taken on spring break around town with a Cannon t3i. This picture already had the faded feel to it and also the sun rays, so i was careful when editing it so it didn’t loose its lightness. I did however increase the saturation as well as vibrance. This picture could be better if there wasn’t so much sky ion the top left and i took it from another angle so there were trees in the back.

Hannah W- Mountain View

The title of this image is “Mountain View”. It was taken in my neighborhood a couple weeks ago. It was taken with my Nikon D3100. I edited it by increasing the saturation and messing with the levels. It could be better if I had taken the photo from a different angle.

Zayn D- The KIng

I took this picture at 2nd and Charles with my sony cyber shot. I edited this picture by adjusting the brightness and contrast, adding the yellow photo filter and cleaning up some blemishes across different parts of the picture. This picture would be better if the lighting was better.

Rachel P- Kitty

This picture was taken at work of my bosses cat for our close-up assignment. The only editing I did to this picture was add a B&W filter. I don’t think I could of done anything different for this picture. I am really happy with it.

michael p- "marucci"

Katie J- Balling

My photo, “Balling” was taken this past weekend at South Shades Crest Elementary School. It was taken with my Nikon 3200. I edited the photo by cropping it to be centered and brightening the image, as well as, saturating the basketball. It could be better if there was less shadow on the image.

ZohraP- Love Birds

This picture was taken by me when I went to the zoo. It was taken by my sony cyber shot camera. I edited this by brightening it up, putting it a lot of vibrance, I played a lot with the colors as well. I absolutely love how it turned out. I also love how parrots are in perfect position.

Kyla H. Pinot Grigio

This was taken in the studio when we were doing the still life assignment. I use his camera which I do not remember what it was called. But I named this Pinot Grigio because of the wine bottle in the vase. And I put a black and white filter on it!
