Madison P- Stuck In Time

This is a picture of a rose in my backyard that started to bloom when the weather got really warm, but when the weather got really cold again, it never opened. I like this picture because I was able to capture the rose in this stage. I used this picture for the pictorialist assignment and I really like how it turned out and how much it looks like a painting or drawing rather than a picture.

Amazing picture! I really like the focus that you have applied to this photo. The main focus is on the flower(rose), while the background has been blurred out. I feel as if this adds a lot more emphasis on the subject of the photo. Also, I am glad that you did not apply the "rule of thirds" in this photo. Centering the picture put more emphasis on the object. One thing that you could have made better is the color. The rose would have look more vivid and colorful if the darkness/contrast was reduced. Other than that, this is a ver good picture.

the picture is simple and has brilliant colors to attract the eye with an artistic filter

i really like this picture. It is a little dark, and could be lighter but it still looks like a really great photo.

i love this picture and the colors of it. The colors contrast so well together. Something so simple can make a great picture! But if i had to change something i would crop the picture to make it more vertical and not so concrete looking.

Madison,
I love your picture "Stuck in Time". The pictorialist affect turned out really nice with this image. I like how the dark but bright rose stands in the faded out background. Overall, great contrast and focused image.

Good Job,

I like this picture a lot because it looks like a painting. I think the background needed to be a little less busy so more of the focus goes to the flower but over all it's a very pretty picture!!
