Danae A - Soft

I took this picture for the choice assignment. I took it in my room, on a white blanket with my macro extension. I love macro photography, because I love the soft fade of everything but the front petals. In photoshop, I lightened the picture and added a black and white layer, but lowered the opacity so the soft pink came out slightly. This soft color coupled with the soft fade of the background is why the picture is titled Soft. The positioning of the flower was intentionally off to the left to draw focus to the petals and make the composition more interesting.

Fantastic photo! First off, the method of how you took the photo, and the technique used to edit the photo shows your creativity. I like the soft color of the pink, and the soft texture of the entire photo. I really like how the photo does not even seem like it was taken outside, although one can see the lamp in the background, but only a little if you concentrate really hard on the photo. That shows how the subject is in great focus. Again, Great job.

I really like how delicate everything looks in the picture. The light pink of the flower and the macro extension softening the picture work really well together and make a great image. The focus is perfect, only really bringing the petals into focus and softening everything else. I like how you positioned the flower to the left, the picture would not have been as interesting if the flower had just been in the middle. The picture almost has a calming sort of effect because of soft and delicate it is.

Honestly, this reminds me of my best friend Abby who just moved away. This looks like something she would have taken. It's beautiful, I adore your composition and the faded petals with your layer. The focus and black and white layer make the picture look very "hipster". I wish some of the petals weren't so faded, but honestly it still creates great composition. I'm stunned.

This is so pretty! I like the way the main part of the image isn't centered, which gives it a more artistic look. I also absolutely love the soft fade. I also think lowing the opacity made the picture even more beautiful, it kind of gives the flower a wedding photo-ish look. Great job!

Beautiful. I love the blurriness of the background. This is weird but it reminds me of the summer when my air conditioning was out. Things look overly warm and the air feels thick. The title works too - the flower looks soft. My only advice would be to incorporate more of the flower and crop some of the blank space off of the right. Well done.

Wow, this picture is so nice. The picture really lives up to its name "Soft". I like that you got so close and captured the details in the petals. I also like how the blanket is woven differently in certain places too. Overall the picture came out really well, and truly looks soft.
