Wes S - Checkmate

I named this photo Checkmate. I took this photo during the Still Life assignment. I edited this photo by painting out the background and the boxes within the chessboard and hen applying a filter. I think it could be better if i could have lit the pieces in the back better.

I really like the photo because it is clear and I can tell what the subject is immediately. I like the use of the glowing edges as it exaggerates details like the squares on the chessboard as well as allowing other pieces to remain recognizable in the same way. Nice work.

This is a really cool picture. I really like the focus of the image and how well the subject stands out. I really like how you centered the subject and I think it looks really good. I really like this photo and I especially like the the filter that you put on it!

I like this! I like the amount of exposure in the photo. I also like how the objects aren't centered so that it looks like the game is in action. I think the cropping is good for this type pf picture and I would vote this picture a keeper.

Nice photo. It is focused nicely which is hard to do with that filter. There is good depth throughout and it's well balanced. It is also centered well and there is very good leading lines. The light and the dark have very good contrast. I wouldn't really change anything either.

I really like this picture! The filter makes this pic really cool and really defines all the clean lines. The pieces in the background really add good depth. It might've be better if the pieces in the back were more in focus but overall i really like it!

Very cool picture! I like how the focus is on the chess pieces and the board as well as the lighting. I like how you tilted the chessboard and took advantage of the diagonal lines running across the board. The neon photo filter is really neat and really makes the photo look unique.
