Briggs A- One Ring

This picture is titled “One Ring”. It is based off of “The Lord of The Rings”. The actual ring was a gift from my dad and is a replica made of tungsten. This image was taken in the studio last week for the still life assignment. I edited this image by creating a vignette with the burn tool and I made the ring seem to glow by using the dodge tool. I also cleaned the image by removing the blemishes in the background. Overall I don’t think that I could have made this image better.

I really really like this picture. It seems a bit eerie to me for some reason but I like the feeling I get from this. It reminds me of Lord of the Rings movies. It also seems sad as if someone lost a wife or husband. Black and gold go together good. Good job with this picture the lighting is awesome!

I think that the photo is so amazing, I love the ring, I love the reference. I think that the ring is the main subject and is in focus, but it's just a little blurry, just a bit, around the ring, but I like it. I like the contrast between the gold and the black. The gold light, the dark no good black. It works, it's balanced, I like it. I believe the story behind this photo is Lord Of The Rings. The gold represents the light that tries to protect the lands, but the black represents the darkness coming. Great job Briggs!

This picture is really cool I really like the lighting with the bright gold and dark cloth. the photo goes off a nice eerie light in the dark kinda feel where hope exists but its hard to obtain. I like the photo a lot and the only thing i might change would be to take the photo a little closer

I really like this photo. The contrasting dark with the light provides a very cool effect. Whatever you did to edit it, it seems as if I can really feel the texture. I like that the ring is in the left third of the photo, and that there is a sort of glow to draw attention to it. The lines in the cloth also seem to draw the attention to the ring. I really like this photo and, I think it goes very well with the Lord of The Rings Theme!

Briggs, this a pretty cool photo. I am a The Lord of the Rings fan myself so this photo excites me. In regard to a technical area, the exposure is very good. Light is reflecting off the ring but not so much that it takes away from the appearance of the ring. In regard to a composition area, the balance is very good. The ring and the light emanating from it are surrounded by darkness so I find that to be very balanced. In regard to an aesthetic area, I really do like this photo and would consider it a keeper. I personally would have got the etchings on the side of the ring more into the shot but that is just my opinion. I think this photo would serve well as a framed photo or desktop background. You did a great job with this photo!
