Abbey W- Don't Play with Fire

I really like this photo for some reason! I desaturated the whole image except for the one match out side the box and I raised the "yellows" with the saturation tool. I added the text "don't play with fire" I wanted to make it look like it was already on the box. I wish the background was a little softer and not so spotty.

Abbey, I really like this. I wanted to do something with matches too but I didn't have a good box of any. I love the saturation in the match stick and how everything else is black and white. I also really like the writing you added, I think it's really subtle and cute. I think you did the coloring of the stick really well and it looks like you just placed it in the picture.

I really like this picture. I really like how you made just the burnt match color. It really shows the topic of the picture. I also like how this picture creates a story of some sort. Overall I really like the picture. Keep up the good work.

i like how you made everything b&w but the match and how mart of the match is burned. how bright the colors are. how in focus everything is. how simple it is. the contrast of the colors.
good job

I like the subject of the picture because it is different. I also liked how the rest of the picture is in black and white except for the match.

Everyday I look at the photoblog looking for a good picture, and usually just scroll past the ones that are just alright. This one immediately caught my eye. I REALLY like this picture. It's so simple and visually pleasing. I like how the ends of the matches are white. I think I would've left the text off of the box, but thats just me. Honestly I think the background looks really good, except the one black spot on the very left edge. Simple pictures are my favorite. Great job.

I really like how simple this picture is. The black and white with the one match in color works really well. I would have added more black to the black and white background instead of it being so light though. I think the match would have looked better if the saturation had not been increased so much because I feel like the picture should be softer and not right there, in your face kind of. I agree with you that the background would be softer as well, but the colored match is the thing in focus and the background is slightly more softer which is good too. Overall I really like the idea of this picture and it is a good picture, just not exactly how I pictured it to be.

Nice picture! This could easily be a fire prevention advertisement. leaving just that one match saturated sends a strong message. I would try to make this better by making the transition between the yellow and black and white background a bit smoother.

This picture really catches my eye... I love black & white pictures, especially when something is in color and stands out. If you wouldn't have said that you put the print on the box i would have never known. This is a really good angle and i love it.

Abbey,
I absolutely love this picture. I love how simple the image is but says so much. The black and white background contrasts nicely with the bright and enhanced match. There is great balance between the light and dark areas. The single match itself is very focused and sharp. Once again, fabulous job.

This is a really good picture. The background being black and white making the one match stand out is perfect. It brings you right in to focus on the match.

Abbey W.,
I really like this photo. It's so put together and neat. I didn't realize you had a message on the box until I read the comment above, and I also like the message and creativeness. The Black & White effect and the single color object makes the whole photo stand out. Good job.

Wow, this is a really cool photo. I really like the focus of the image. You put a lot of focus on the subject of the image, which is the single match. I also like how you blurred out the background. This helped put more emphasis on the subject of the image. One thing that would have made the image better is if the match box was also blurred out like the background. I also like the fact that you centered the subject . The match would not have looked well on a third. Putting the subject in the center puts more emphasis on the subject. Overall, I really like this picture. Very good Job!

This picture caught my eye. I like the color difference, where the main subject is in color, but the background is black and white. It has a shallow depth of field. The photo is nicely balanced. There is a nice tonal range within the background. I also enjoy this picture because the match in focus is used and on the side of the matchbox it says, “DON’T PLAY WITH FIRE.”
