Evelyn C - Quince Flowers

The title is Quince Flowers. This photo was taken on August 31st at the Annex of First Baptist Church of Pelham. It was taken with my phone (iPhone 8). Originally I was just going to enhance and contrast the colors and textures in the image, but I ended up taking another road. I played around with the adjustments until I got the picture to seem more like a painting rather than a picture. I feel like this could be better if I didn’t have the orange section of the background because it takes a bit of the color and attention from the flowers. But overall I like how it turned out.

Overall I like the photo. I think the background take away from the white flowers and make the the photo more 2 diminutional, but the colors of the flowers and the way they work together.

I really like what you've done with the picture after you've taken it. The white balance makes the whites slightly off and imperfect while the focus is on the flowers and slightly shallow. Both the contrast of color and darker areas in the photo create lot of contrast and a painting like image. I very much enjoy you idea of creating a pictorialism inspired picture.

I think this picture looks really nice, you dd a good job capturing the flower in a way that it looks like a realistic painting. There is some really nice focusing on the main subject, everything is clear to the naked eye and there was really nice coloring from the photograph. Minor areas with dark space but besides that, the picture is vibrant and colorful. This picture gives me a happy mood because of the artistic look to it, and all of the colors around it.

This photo catch my eye once I was scrolling down the Photo Blog. The colors of the flower are so nice and blend in together really well. The lighting of this image is very soft and corresponds with the background like the colors orange and white. For the focus, it looks good and is on the main photo that is being taken. When cropping this image, a little part of the flower got cut out but even though it did, it still looked nice. The balance would have been better if it had the vase in the middle but not to the side. It would have shown the whole thing without it looking sideways. This image makes me really relaxed and it shows off these really warm colors. Overall, it is such a nice picture.

I really like this picture especially the colors. The only thing I would change is the Hue/saturation so the colors are brighter. -E.B.
