I like how you positioned the feeder according to the rule of thirds--it draws attention to it. I also liked how the background has lots of white because it contrasts the greyscale of the birdfeeder and makes it stand out. I like the mysterious effect the black-and-white adds. The one thing that could be better is the positioning; the birdfeeder should't be tilted, it seems kind of lopsided the way it is. -Danae A. HHS
This is a pretty cool picture. The DOF of the photo is pretty shallow. It helps to keep the focus on the bird feeder, but you can still see the lake well in the background. I like how the bird feeder is in the left horizontal to show the rest of the shot and to keep the it from dominating the frame. The picture gives off a tranquil feeling with the calm waters and a lone feeder sitting in the open. I think that this photo might be a little too bright though. It makes it look like the light is too conflicting behind the bird feeder, but overall, I really like it.
This is a really cool picture. The focus of the picture was appropriate for the situation. The focus is on the Feeder, which is the main subject in the picture. I like the fact that you did not put the feeder in the center of the picture. The picture would have seemed more boring and dull without the background being so visible. So, good idea putting on the feeder on the third. I really like the photo. The black and white made the feeder stand out, so this was a good choice. Overall, the picture is really good. Hemin N.-HHS
I like this picture a lot. I like how the subject of the picture, the birdhouse, is not in the center. It allows you to see the lake in the background which is really pretty. I like that it is black and white. It brings out the detail while leaving it simple. Overall it is a really nice picture. Good job! -Catherine S
This is a really neat picture. I really like the lighting in the picture. The dark bird feeder stands out against the white sky. I also like how the bird feeder is off center, following the Rule of Thirds. It makes the bird feeder stand out as the subject of the photo, and it creates a deep depth of field by having a tree, a lake, and a tree line behind it. A few things that I think could be better are: the bird feeder should be straightened, those lines should be cropped out along with the deck and maybe some of the tree leaves above the feeder, and the feeder should have been centered vertically with the picture. Overall, I really like this picture and I think with a few minor adjustments, it would be worthy of hanging on a wall.
