Anna Gale H- A Candle's Light

This image is called “A Candle’s Light.” I took this image of a candle at night in my living room. It has pumpkins that I used to decorate for the fall with the candle as the light source. I took this picture with my iphone 13 pro, but I still think the phone camera captured the light well. To edit this picture I changed the light to show more in the shadows. I also edited out some fuzz that was on the candle. I think this image could be better if I used my camera that have at home because I think the quality would be better. I like this photo because I think it fits the spookieness of October.

I really like how your picture focuses on the orange of the candle. It really makes you fell like it a fall night. Ryan G

I like how you used rule of thirds in this specific picture. I also think the mood can be interpreted in many different ways and it makes me feel like theres a stormy night and the power is out and your'e using a candle for light. really nice story in the picture overall.

I really like the lil pumpkins in the back with the shade but mainly I like how you took this photo in the dark while the candle is lit because you can really tell you had to take the photo of the candle with the unique lighting and it goes well with spooky holiday coming up on us. Kameron P.- HHS

I really like the feeling this picture gives off, it looks very warm, cozy, and even safe in a way. I think you did a good job of capturing the fall "mood" and season as a whole. If anything I agree that the picture might would've looked better if the quality was a little higher but I definitely believe you successfully got your story across.

I feel like the background is a bit underexposed and could be brightened up more. I think the photographer was mainly wanting to focus on the light. yes, the main subject is the candle and it is in great focus. I think the DOOF could be more deep. The lighting when focusing on the candle is good, I like how it focuses on the candle. The candle is centered and on a third. i would have done it the same, it could be cropped a bit more so there is not as much darkness and extra space. I see orange, and white and yellow. They are vivid in showing off the candle. Yes, they used lines around the candle to show the outlines and focus on the main subject. I feel like there could be more light because the background is a little dark and depressing. The photo could be balanced more so it's not as dark. Overall, I think the mood is a bit dark, but the photo turned out well. The photographer did a great job of telling the tory of the candle and portraying it.
