Gage W.- Flora

The title of this image is Flora. The photo was taken Monday at the Botanical Gardens. I took the photo with my Nikon D3300. I sharpened the image and turned down the saturation in the green leaves to make the white of the flowers pop out more. The image could be better if the flowers in the background were not so soft, but I kind of like the depth it gives the photo. I’m really proud of this photo, probably one of the best I took on the whole trip.

I really like this picture. I like how the flowers are focussed really good. I also like how there is a bundle of flowers in the middle instead of one flower. I like how he colors are muted too.

Nice picture! The focus is really sharp on the flowers, but it is blurry in the background. That really helps bring the focus to the flowers, which I like. The framing of the flowers by other plants and flowers is nicely done. This photo seems to have a sad, dark mood. I really like this picture, you did a great job!

Hi Gage, I really like this flower. I understand why you named it flora totally not a scientific name or anything... Ha... Ha... Ha... Bad joke, anyways, I really like the focus on the flower and the lighting of the shot. I also like how the photo is centered and I think has a good balance between light and dark areas. I like this photo because it's nature. Nature is one of my favorite things to take photos of.

I usually don't like soft lighting, but it absolutely works well for this picture. It gives the flower a kinda mysterious mood, and that's pretty unique. Plus, I think the centering is really beneficial to the image as a whole because it captures the entirety of the flower.

This is a really cool pic!!!!!! I really love the flowers in the picture and how its almost black and white but there are some hints of colors from the leaves, stems, and center of the flowers. I also really love how clear the picture is and how focused it is on the subject of the flowers! I would definently hang this on my wall!

The contrast on this image is very good, I like that the background is dark but it isn’t completely black. The soft lighting works well on the white flowers. You can see a great amount of detail in the flower petals, and I like that you have more than one flower in the picture because it fills the frame more. Good job!

An elegant, simple photograph! The extreme blur of the background helps distinguish the main subject, and the contrasting colors of light on dark further help with it, too. The flowers are nicely centered in the image and the overall composition isn't bad at all. Something noticeable, though, is how the blur isn't as intense with the entire background, making the focus a bit awkward, but other than that the image is lovely. Maybe brighten it a tad and it would be perfect. I really like this picture, good job!

I really like this picture! The DOF is really good and I like how the bundle of flowers in the middle are in focus and the rest if blurry. The intense blurring emphasizes that the flowers are the subject of the photograph. I like the balance between the light and dark areas. This picture is dark, but not too dark and that gives it a nice effect when the background is dark and the flowers are bright. Overall I really like this picture.
