Catherine S- Dragonfly

This picture was taken while I was camping with family and friends. My little cousin found a hurt dragonfly and wanted to keep it as a pet. He was proud of it and wanted me to take a picture, so I did. I thought the antique effect looked good on this photo, and also enhanced it to bring out detail and coloring.

I found the person holding the dragonfly pretty cool. What brings the dragonfly out is the focus on it. The depth of field is perfect because my eyes are directly on the hand holding the dragonfly rather than the grass and the person's shoes. The main subject is in the center of this picture and emphasizes the main point of it. I like this picture because its rare that I see someone holding a dragonfly. I also like how clearly I can see the print on its wings.

This picture is so creepy, but awesome. I love how much detail is in the dragon fly. The depth of feel is very nice. Almost every detail in the dragon fl is noticeable. I just wish the feet weren't in the picture.

I really like this picture, and it caught my eye, because of the pattern on the dragonfly's wings and the way the background contains both someone's hand and the grass. I think that without the hands it would be harder to see the design of the dragonfly's wings, but if the hand was the entire background it wouldn't look as dynamic. That is why I like how part of the background is hands and part is grass.

I like this picture a lot because of the detail in the dragonfly's wings. you can see all the veins throughout which is pretty cool. i also like your use of depth of field and how although the green of the grass isnt in focus, it stands out. the only thing keeping it from being perfect is the legs/shoes at the bottom right. but over all really nice!

This picture is very cool. I love the contrast between the color of the grass and the colors of the dragon fly. The deep depth of field creates focus on the hands and not so much the stuff under the hands. The pattern on the wing of the dragon fly is really neat. The only way this picture could have been better is if you could have cropped or edited out the feet in the bottom right corner.

I really like this picture. You can definitely tell the subject of the picture is the dragonfly and I like how part of the background is slightly blurry. I also like how you can see the design on the dragonfly's wings. It makes the dragonfly stand out even more! The colors are just perfect. This picture is really amazing!

I really like this picture with the vast amounts of detail in the wings of the dragonfly. The subject of someone holding a dragonfly long enough to get a picture of it is surprising. I like how the background is blurred to bring the focus onto the dragonfly in the hand. If I were to change something it would be the person’s shoes in the background.

The focus on this is really good. I like how even the smallest details on the wings can be seen. Having it centered instead of using the rule of thirds works well for this photo, too. A story of exploration in the backyard is able to be told from this image.

I think this picture is really cool. I love how you can see so much detail in the Dragonfly. I also like how you blurred some of the edges around it, because it adds more to the Dragonfly. I think the colors in this picture are very good. But I think it would have been better if you made the colors black and white. HHS- Jennifer L

Good photo. Depth of field looks good as does the detail of the wings. The photo would look cleaner if the legs and feet in the bottom right weren’t there because they draw the attention away from the subject. The placement of the hands are nice and delicate which supports the empathy towards the hurt dragonfly.

I really like this picture! i got bored in class and decided to go look last semesters photos for the photoblog and this one really caught my eye! I love how natural this photo is and how the colors are more dull. The hands really catch my eye like how they are dirty! I think it would have been better if the shoes were not in it! but overall good job and you made the subject very clear!
