WILL C- Paint Rock

The title of this photo is “Paint Rock”. This picture was taken at Lay Lake on the last fourth of July weekend this past summer. I took this on my phone right before we climbed up to jump off. The rock is around 30 feet tall and is a rally popular spot for people to anchor their boats and chill at the lake. To edit this photo I rotated it to make the angle straight and then put a chrome filter on it. I didn’t do much else significantly different other than turn highlights all the way down and sharpen the image a bit. I could’ve done a better job with the vignette Though.

I really love the color that this image contains. The coolness of the green in the trees pairs well with the yellow tones in the rock and the darkness of the cracks in the rock. The photo is a little blurry, and I also agree that the vignette could be a little stronger.

Will, I love your picture and your explanation of why the rock captured in the image is significant. Though the picture is great, it seems to me that the photo is not as in focus as it could be. To correct this I would suggest playing around with the focus adjustment and/or continually using the AF until the focus of the picture is at the desired level. Also, I feel as though the picture would be slightly improved some of the trees and bushes at the top were cropped out. This however is very minor. I love the aesthetic of this image. It gives me a slight hint of nostalgia and a healthy dose of a lifted mood. This is because I have many nice memories associated with rocks similar to this. Overall I love this photo.

I love this picture, I love going to the lake.I think the exposure is really nice, the main focus is clearly visible. I really like all of the colors present here. I wish the water was a little lighter, because you can tell that it was darkened a bit. I love this because it brings back many great memories of when I would go to the lake and rope swing and jump off the rocks. I can tell the photographer likes the out doors. I would definitely hang this on my wall, because I love the pictures and the memories it brings back. -Emily R HHS

I really love all of the colors that are included in this picture. I think it is really cool how the graffiti pops out on the rocks. I always go to Smith Lake with my family and friends over the summer and we jump off rocks that look very similar to these. This picture feels very peaceful and makes me feel like I am at the lake! Overall, this photograph looks great! Fantastic job!!

Sweet picture man! My lake house is the one with the huge dock system right next to that rock, so I thought it was funny to see it on the blog. I like the color of the trees but I would recommend a boost in contrast and an up in color for all the graffiti that would be sick.
