Carson R - "Summer Love"

I call this image “Summer Love”. It was taken in late July at my aunt’s house in Roanoke, Virginia. I took it with my Nikon d3400. I edited on the photos app. I used the fade filter, slightly raised the color and contrast, sharpened the image and added definition, and added a vignette. I think it would look better if the grass looked a little greener. I tried to take this photo from many angles, and this was my favorite.

Carson, I love how the shoes and Coca-Cola bottle are in sharp focus while the grass is blurry. I also like the very subtle and soft lighting in the photo. I like how you faded the colors, it really creates a good balance with the strong red color. I feel like this is a very good image to express a teenager. Also, knowing you, I know that this photo really defines you.

This picture is really cool. I like how it looks like a vintage picture taken with an older camera. both the bottle and shoes are in focus which gives it a crisp and clean look. I would have tried to fit the laces in the whole picture but I also like how the laces and tilted bottle pulls your eyes up the image. I would have also tried to take the picture with a glass bottle or an older can to really have the vintage look you were going for.

I really like this picture. The DOF gives off this deep shadowed vibe. The lighting is soft. For the composition areas i REALLY like the red theme in this picture. How the red converse and coke label play off of each other. I like how the areas around the scene is dark. Over al this picture is very good and i would say its a keeper, i would defiantly hang it on my wall.

Carson, I really like this picture in general because it just shows what type of photographer you are. It has a vintage feel that does remind me of the summer. The lighting is soft and has a great balance between the darkness of the grass and coca-cola liquid and the popping red of the shoes and label. It shows the different types of color schemes and it absolutely looks amazing. The amount of space that you have on this picture is really good. It doesn't stray away from the focus of the shoes and the coke. I think you should not have cropped the photo as much because you cut of the top of the coke bottle and part of the shoe lace which makes it look a little too crowed, but it does look very good and has a great vintage feel.

Carson, your photo is very good. I think that no further explanation of why you took the photo is necessary considering the title of the image. You can easily tell that the photo is of some things you love about the summer, those being a coke and your red shoes. To make the image slightly better I would suggest bumping the saturation a little but other than that, it’s a quality photo. The photo itself reminds me of my old summers as most of them could be described with the mood of this photo. Because of this, this picture holds a personal meaning to me and makes me feel happy that those things in my past happened. Anyways, the photo is great. Keep up the good work!

I like this picture a lot. It looks vary rustic and I love how you made it darker around the side. I also like how you have just the right amount of color to it. On more thing I liked about it is it is very esthetic and cool. If i had to change anything about the picture, I wouldn't.
