Gavin M- Xterra

This is a photo of me off roading in my xterra.  I like this photo because of the way the front suspension is articulated on the dirt mounds.

Madison V- Backyard Birdhouse

I took this picture of the birdhouse in my grandmother's backyard.  I like how the tree and birdhouse are the main focus of the image while the background is blurred.  I adjusted the image by enhancing its color, increasing the saturation and color balance, and reducing the noise.  I'm happy with the way it turned out!

Mary L- Reflection in Chorcoal

I took this picture during the reflection project. I edited it when we had to practice the pictorial. I added filters to two different versions and put them together. I really liked how this turned out.

Taylor S- Ring

Ring: I chose this picture because i'm obssesed  with rings. So my sister for Christmas gave me a ring. And i fell in love with this ring and the picture i took was kinda cool. I made it black and white because the colors didn't really work out.

Reginald K- Sunglasses

I chose the picture of the sunglasses because it was really clear and you can see the reflection of me holding the camera off the lens. I antiqued the photo because to me, it looked the best to me. I took home on the sink counter. i also increased the light on it and the sharpness.

Ken C- Glamorous

for this project I'm working on in class , this was my first test picture but i really enjoy looking at it, i brighten certain areas and figures and blurred the wall.

Ryan S- Hummer

I called this picture "Hummer." I took this picture of my mom's gas cap on her hummer for the reflection assignment. I edited this picture by cropping the gas cap using Rule of Thirds and I adjusted the levels a little bit.

Madhukar M - Tom Miller Dam

This is a picture of the Tom Miller Dam in Austin, Texas. I took it at dawn, so the lights for the dam were on, but the sun had not completely gone down. Therefore, I chose to decrease the exposure and increase the contrast to help the lights and textures of the dam stand out more. I changed up some hues and saturations to give an added effect.

Mark L- Fall Leaves

This is a picture I took outside during the fall. I edited the tone of the orange leaves slightly. i like the picture because of the color. Both green and orange leaves are shown.

Meagan Purser- Winter Flame

I meant to use this the last photo blog it is the same picture but this is the one that I edited. I really like this one because you can only see the wick in the reflection and I just think that it is really cool.

Yesenia S - Tree

I took this picture with my camera one evening going to the store. I stopped and took this picture of the tree and I really liked how it turned out. I used the Levels and Selective Color Options to adjust the colors. I think this picture looks great because of the reddish color that brightens the image.

Nick E- Iced Tea

This is a picture of a glass of sweet tea that i edited in photoshop to make it have more color. I like the way it looks red even though it started out as ordinary brown sweet tea. I also like the detail you can see with the condensation on the outside of the glass.

Josh V- Alabama Batting Glove

My favorite image that I chose for the Choice Assignment was one of an Alabama batting glove that I found one day while I was at an Alabama showcase. I edited the image by adding a filter layer and then choosing the filter glowing edges. I thought the image turned out really cool because the natural color of the batting glove is white, but when I added the filter the batting glove turned gray and value or the contrast of dark and light was created which made the picture seem more like a drawing.

Brian M - Boat

this picture is of my aunts model boat. i took the picture in aunties house. the only thing i did for this picture was put a picture.

Ryan T- Hogwarts

This picture was taken on vacation at Universal Studios.  It's the new popular attraction ride inside of Howarts.  I liked this picture cause It was taken on a cloudy day, which kinda reminded me from the previous movies.   I used some darker filters and artist filters to make the picture look presentable.

Maia S- Crazy Cat Lady

We went up to Gatlinburg, TN to get a new Abyssinian cat from a cat breeder. I took this at the house of the cat breeder that we got our new cat from. She lived in the middle of nowhere… but the woods around her house were amazing this is one of the photos i took. then in messing  around on my Photo Shop Express app this happened.

Anissa L-Dear God

I took this picture over the Christmas break. I was watching TV with my blanket and found this attached to the candle I bought that day. I like this picture because I like the angle of the picture. I also like the way the candle looks in the background. I wish that the picture wasn't so grainy.

Steven F- New Shades

The night we got out of school, I brought these new shades, and felt that they needed to be modeled, ha! I grabbed the camera, slapped on self timer, and start created art! To edit this picture, I lowered the curves, and added a little contrast, and incorporated the select distortion technique mr.riggs taught us! -Steven Finley

Zach C- Peace Lily

To edit this photo I used several filters.

Mylie U- Crazy Sky

I took this picture for the reflection assignment. It was in the courtyard, in front of the window. I like this picture because the sky and trees reflect very well in the window. I made the window negative with Photoshop and kept the rest of it normal. I wanted the selection to stand out more.

Haley Y- Beach

This picture was taken at orange beach. We were driving down a road near the beach when we saw the sun going down. So we pulled to a public access just in time to see it. I croped the picture because it was to far away. I also made the pink stand out more.

Joerdan K- Guitar

I love the picture i took of my guitar and how i edited it. I originally just a had it and black and white with the pop of teal on there. But as I started to mess around with the filters in the filter gallery i decided to stick with Smudge Stick because i thought it complimented the picture best. I love how the picture came out in the end.

Shelby C-Train on the Track

This is a picture of the train by Ross Bridge.I took this over Christmas break. I like this picture because its like all grey with the pop of yellow and blue against the grey clouds and the dark green trees.

Jordan M- Flipped 180

This picture is a reflection picture of a tree in a pond. I increased the colors separately on both, then flipped it 180° to make it more interesting. I like this picture because more of the tree is reflected in the lake, but I was it was exactly even and straight on.

Jenna O - Baby Cooper

Baby Cooper was taken in South Carolina at my best friends house. I named Cooper when they got him four years ago. He is such a sweet pea but hates staying still. I highlighted his fur and toned down the saturation and boosted the contrast. I wish he would have looked at me but he is a dog and it's natural that he doesn't pose for the camera.

Laura T- Mardi Gras

The photo I chose for my photo blog picture was one I took for my choice project. I decided to take pictures of my Mardi Gras decorations because my family is from Louisiana and we celebrate Mardi Gras every year. I like this photo because I used a bunch of different filters on each feather of the mask. The filters all came together to make this photo and I am very happy with how it came out and I really enjoyed playing with all the different filters.

Will Clifton- None

I took this picture in downtown Bham a few weeks ago near Sloss Furnace. I edit my pictures to look real and like they weren't edited. I decided to edit this one with a lot of saturation and bright colors. I like how this picture turned out. I would change it by removing the red structure that would have stopped trains a long time ago, but besides that, the picture is alright.

Tripp W- Stone Pictorial

I took this photo for the Color assignment, but used it for the Pictorial Exercise. To start off editing this picture, I made selections of the stones and played around with levels and color balances. Then I explored the filters. I used the Cutout filter for the shoe on the right,, and the toe section on the shoe on the left. I used Polar Coordinates for the circular portion on the right, and half tone patters for the black and white lines and the orange and yellow circles on the left of the image.

Emily B- Sprinkling

This picture was taken yesterday in the Simmons Middle School parking lot. I thought the way that that the rain looked on my window was pretty neat! I boosted the contrast, boosted the saturation, blurred the background, and sharpened the rain drops. i love the way it turned out!

Kayla B.- Kentucky Game

I named this picture "Kentucky Game".I took this picture at a Kentucky game over the break. I took this picture before the game when the teams were warming up. To edit this picture i used the glowing edges filter to give the picture a more artistic look.

Robert C- School Bus

I took this picture on my way back from the trailers. I really like how the color looks. I edited this by boosting the photo, Vintaging it, and changing some contrast exposure settings. I think this could have been better if I had Made the whole name HOOVER CITY SCHOOL in the photo but over all I think it turned out good.

Jessica P- Emme

This picture is of one of our cats, Emme, while she was waiting at the door one morning.  The blue wall and white door were split behind her, so when I used the cut out filter in Photoshop it made the colors blend nicely over her face and the background.  I really like the way the filter worked out.

Katie W- Mirror Reflection Sunset

I took this picture when I was on my way home from the lake one day. I got in my car and looked in my side mirrors and I thought the reflection of the sunset looked pretty. I boosted the contrast, and I also played with the mid tones in the image

Emily A.- Reflection

This is a picture of a branch over the lake near the Hoover Library. I like this picture a lot because of the colors. I edited this picture by brightening the colors red and blue. I also cropped the picture close to the branch and the reflection.
