The title of this image is Underwater. I used a Cannon Rebel for this composite assignment. I layered the images and used a mask to reveal parts of each image. I’m very happy with how this image turned out.

Claire A- Time Square
This picture is called Times Square because that is where I took it on my trip to NYC with the finance Acd. in December. I edited it by adjusting the brightness and contrast. I could have made it better by Taking it fem a better angle.
Zoya D- Close up Alter
The title of my selected picture is “Close up alter.”
This picture was taken at home last week.
This picture was taken with my digital camera.
I edited this picture by using the pencil type of edit, and changing the color a little and making it brighter.
I like the picture the way it is.
Iman S - Mirror
My image that I chose is called Mirror. This photo was taken on March 18, 2014 in front of my house. This picture was taken with my Nikon CoolPixs camera. I put a motion blur on it. I then made a copy of the layer and put the exclusion effect on it. I was really happy with how this picture turned out.
Ivy U- Free People
The title of my image is free people. it was taken at the summit one night after dinner. it was taken with my iPone 5s. i edited it using photoshop. it could be better if it was more straight on and not slanted.

Nick A- Life to the Dead Flower
These pictures were taken on Christmas Break. The picture of the sun was taken when i was on my day home from my dads house. The flower was taken for another assignment and i really liked how the coloring was on the flower. the last picture was taken in my room of my vans i got for christmas. I edited this picture by making it a composite and using the light of the sun to give life to the dead flower. but i also kept the eery feeling with the filter i used for my vans. on the sun, i used a motion blur filter. I don’t think this photo could be any better. i am so happy with the outcome.
Ben F- Electric Blue Music
The title of this image is called Electirc Blue Music. It was taken in my room on a tuesday night. I took it with my digital slr camera (don’t know what its called). i edited it by putting a black and white layer and then colored the words on the Ukelele a cool electric blue color. I then added a bubble wrap type filter to it. This photo could be better by maybe making the depth of field a little father so you could see the body of the instrument.
Angel S- Boquet
I took two different photos of a rose from different angles and created a bouquet. I toyed around with the levels and curves then used the glowing edges filter. I believe it came out very well.

Cori J - Something In The Grass
This was taken in my backyard on March 14, 2014. This was taken with my Nikon camera. I didn’t edit this picture because I really liked it how it was. I took this photo for the close up assignment.
Cory P- Distance
The title of this picture is “Distance.” This picture was take out by Discovery Church before you reach the Chestnut Ridge neighborhood. This was taken with my Sony Digital Camera. I edited this picture by editing the saturation. This picture could be better if I had more to shoot in the picture instead of just nature and the sky.
Ryan W - Sunlight over Nashville
This image is called Sunlight over Nashville. I took it last September when my dad and I went to Nashville to watch the Tennessee Titans play. The rest of the images in this composite were shot with my FujiFilm Fine pix S 3200 camera. One was part of the night and day assignment where i took a long exposure shot on a bridge to make the streaks of light that you see in the middle of the image. The other was just a bush that i put in to add some color to the image. Overall i really like how this turned out, and it was definitely the best composite that i made.
Justin N - Crayons
I titled this photo Crayons. This is a close up I took of a few crayons I had at my house. They are laying on top of a black mousepad. I edited the image by saturating the crayons and putting filters on them and then coloring the mousepad. The only thing I would have done to make it better is cleaning up some of the sides of the crayons.

Diggy B- Amarillo
This picture was taken in my neighbor’s yard, one day after school. I took this picture with my Canon Eos Rebel T3i. I edited this picture by, messing with the brightness and contrast, and exposure, and I also took out the other flower by painting and using the cloning tool. I’m happy with how this picture came out.
Matthew E- Blue Trumpet
This photo is called Blue Trumpet. This a combination of four different photos two photos were taken of the sky while the others were of the trumpet and of the tree plus the water. I edited the photo by added some brightness and a little contrast and I also added some saturation to make the orange more intense. I really like this photo and would not change anything.
Sean M- Ski Slope
This picture is titled “Ski Slope.” It was taken on February 16th in West Virginia while on a ski trip. I took this panorama to show the depth of the mountain. It did not turn out as well as I had hoped because I did not have much time to take it because it was 5 degrees and my hands were cold. The only thing I wish is that I would have had more time to take it.
Ryan S- Old Shed
i took this photo with my point and shoot camera
i took this photo during the acrhitcultrue at my old elementary school
i did some editing to this photo i adjusted the shadows and added multiple filters
Melissa M- Gum Ball
This image was taken in my backyard on a sunday afternoon. To edit this I increased the contrast to emphasize the details and then boosted the color by saturation. I really love the way it turned out because of how vivid the details are and the only thing i would change would be making that bottom section of the gum ball a little more clear.
Mason L - Eye with Pretty Colors
This picture was taken in the studio for the close up assignment. I liked the idea of taking close up of an eye and I tried to recreate it. My camera would not get close enough so it isn’t the shot I wanted. I edited the eye with other pictures and managed to get a cool glowing affect on the eye itself. The neutral background didn’t compliment the photo enough so I inserted a neon textured image in place.
Hope W.-Pink Flowers
The title of my image is “Pink Flowers”. It was taken at my house for the Close Up Assignment. It was taken with my Canon Powershot. I edited it by brightening the image, bumping up the contrast, raising the vibrance and saturation, adding a curves layers, a levels layer, and I added a filter. I really like this image and wouldn’t change anything about it!
Brooke F- Guitar
I titled my image Guitar because it is a picture of a guitar. I took it for the Still Life Assignment at the place I take guitar. I look it with my iPhone 5c. I edited it by increasing the contrast and the vibrance to make the color look more defined. I would like this picture better if I took it with my camera instead of my phone.

Haley G- Close Up
I took this photo at my house for the close up assignment. I took it with my fine pix z camera. I mostly enhanced the saturation and vibrance of the photo. I colored the leaves green because they were a brownish color. I changed the hue and saturation to give a more purple color to the flower. I changed the layer to overlay and thats pretty much it. I picked this photo because I really enjoyed the colors of the photo and the angle I took the photo with. I wish the bottom leaves weren’t so blurry but other than that I would not change the picture.
Anna Kathryn D- Flower Child
I used three diferent pictures for this image. I used a picture of Hopes eyes, a picture of pansy flowers, and a picture of rain on a window, all of which were taken with a Nikon D50. In photoshop i used different layers and filters. I started off by making the background picture, the eyes, lighter and adding contrast. The filter on the flowers is vivid light and the water is lightened color. I lightened her eyes drastically by using the dodge tool. I think where I added more lashes to her bottom eyelashes, i could have blended them in better to make them look more real.
Sydney B- Composite
This is one of my pictures from the Composite assignment. I used five different images in this picture all of which were taken when I went to New York in December. The pictures were taken with my Canon Rebel and I loved how the pictures came out individually. I edited each image separately by first editing the brightness and saturation and also the vibrance. Then I changed the effects of the images until I found the one that fit best. and in between two of the images I added a layer where I just lightly colored the pictures purple which you can see in the trees. This is my favorite picture I’ve done all year and i enjoyed this assignment very much.
Tait C- Mojo
The name of this photograph is Mojo. I took this photo with my Canon Powershot camera. I took this in a studio type setting with a indirect light and a practice hitting mat as the base of the picture. To edit this photo I enhanced the color of the grass. I also cropped the photo in so the ball would be off center. Finally I painted over the Mojo writing and Nike symbol to make it stand out a little bit more. The only thing I would like to change would be to remove some of the green pixels on the right side of the ball. Overall I am pleased with this photograph.
Logan M- Truth in his eyes
“Truth in his Eyes”
I took this in my basement over the weekend with my Nikon D5100. The reason I chose my basement is because it is dark and I could control the lighting with clamp lights on the floor supports and the ceiling. I did a few things to edit this picture. Firstly, I cleaned up blemishes on his face and especially around the eye. Next I added a brightness an contrast layer to up the contrast in his eye and around his skin. Then, I added a vibrance layer to desaturate all of the image except his eye. I then added a color layer to color his eye and give it a cool gradient. Lastly, I used an overlay layer to brighten and darken the image selectively. This allowed me to clean up the picture. I could have made it better by allowing more light in the initial exposure or by getting closer to my subject. This was difficult in my basement with a basic telephoto lens.I really enjoyed editing this shot!
Matthew C- Bright Sky
The name of this picture is bright sky i took this photo during the composite project i dint edit this picture that much besides bumping the definition up a bit it could be better if i brighten up the colors a bit.
Jade B- Bus in Huston
this is a composite. i took this picture using a nikon d3100 it was taken on a bus in houston tx. i played with the hue/saturation and the the opacity with the many different layers. this picture is still incomplete to me and look for more ways to fix it everyday
Hannah G- Lake
This picture is called Lake. I took it when I was at camp earlier this year. I didn’t do much editing. All I did was increase the saturation a little bit. I like this picture because you can see the reflection in the water and the cross up on the hill.
Raphael F- MMXIV
The title of this image is MMXIV, which means 2014 in Roman Numerals. This picture is a collaboration between 3 different pictures, one that I took at home, and two others that I took while I was on vacation in Germany. I took all two out of the three pictures that are composed within this one with my iPhone, and the background image was taken with my Nikon D5000 SLR. I edited this image by manipulating the opacity on the multiple layers and coloring the background to give it a very antique feel while also adding a bit of a Roman theme to an otherwise bland background.
Rebecca G - Chess
The title of this picture is “Chess”. I took it on Thanksgiving break with my Nikon digital camera. I edited it by cropping it to make it closer, adjusting the brightness and contrast and boosting the color. I wish that the colors were a little brighter.
Alex D- New Orleans Aquarium
The title of my image is New Orleans Aquarium
It was taken in New Orleans on January 3, 2014 at 11:55 AM
This was taken with my Nikon Coolpix S3100
I didn’t crop the picture or enhance it.
The picture could of been better if the bottom right was not blurry

jack L- Overlooked
i chose this photo to put in the blog because its one of the better pictures i have taken lately. it is of a flower i took outside of school. i tried to get as close as i could but i couldn’t get any closer. i added a slight vignette to the outside of the photo and darkened it a little bit . i think it came out pretty goodl
Kinsey V- Lucky
This picture was taken in the courtyard with one of Mr. Rigsby’s cameras. I edited this picture by boosting the saturation and contrast, then using the color replacement tool, I picked this green color to paint on the plant. I then dimmed the opacity so it wasn’t so obvious I edited it. This photo could be better if there were more of the same kind of plants just to even it out, but other than that I think this picture turned out nice.
Mary C- Colorado Lights
This is a composite image I made using a picture I took when I visited my grandfather in Colorado over the winter. I also used some messy paint pallets and different lights. I really like how this picture turned out, it reminds me of fun times with my family.
Aleena B- Avatar
The title of this image is called Avatar. This image has many components to it to create how it looks, first adding a background layer and manipulating it with motion blur and mixing layer colors. Finishing the background image, I pulled another image of my friend’s eyes from a previous project and began messing around with different color changes, saturations, and concentrations ending up with his entire face inverting into this blue color. That’s when I got the idea of making him into an avatar because that’s what it reminded me of, then leading me to painting on another layer the marks on his forehead, brightening the eyes, and spotting white freckles on his cheeks and other regions. This is honestly my favorite image out of all I’ve ever done this year; I’m very proud of this.
