Rachel N - Flowers

This photo is called Flowers. I took it on September 24, 2024. I took it with my iPhone 15 ProMax. I didn’t edit the photo. It would be better if I edit it though. It was taken to show my friend what I do on the weekends.

Kaleb P- The Friends during the Fire Drill

The photo's title is “The Friends during the Fire Drill”, this was taken at Hoover High School on October 4, 2023. I did not edit the photo at all it could have been better if some random person’s feet were not in the photo, my and friends got bored during the fire drill and we decided to take this photo and I have kept it since.

Tristen P- Sword Keychain Collection

The photograph is titled "Sword Keychain Collection 1" and was captured in a nighttime setting within my room. It was taken using a Nikon camera mounted on a tripod, and illuminated with glow sticks. During post-processing, brightness was enhanced while contrast and shadows were reduced. However, there was an unintended blur toward the latter part of the image which I regret.

Rihanna C- Chill Vibes

I like this photo because it gives off chill vibes , I took this photo during a very bad raining night at work I would say taking pictures really wasn't my thing at first but since I've explored traveled and even just been at work i've experience more about pictures and just enjoyed taking them learning there are different edits , angles and even effects you could use on pictures really opened me up more about them . I love rainy days . Just chill days . I feel like the sleep and the energy is so much better at night the world is so quiet .

Davian R- Davian

Davian is the title of the imagine selected. It was taking last Saturday and it was taking at my house before homecoming. It was taken with a iPhone 12 mini. I realy only made the sun pop more in the background. I could have and some other type of lighting to the picture while taking it.

Amaya T- Murder Mystery

The title of the picture is Murder mystery. I took this picture on my window sill on August 17th 2024.The picture was taken with my Iphone 15 plus. I edited this picture by slightly increasing the brilliance, black points, and highlights and decreasing the Exposure, shadows,Brightness, and contrast. The picture could be better if there wasn’t a slight reflection in  the window.

Caroline S - Auburn University

The title of my image is “Auburn University” because it was taken in Auburn a few weeks ago when my family and I visited for the game. This image was taken with my phone and I edited by brightening it, turning the saturation slightly down, and sharpening it. This picture would be better if the building did not look so unusually vibrant after I edited it. This image was taken after we watched the Auburn game against Arkansas, when we were exploring the campus.

Javier O- Formation

The title of this image is Formation. It was taken near my local gas station by where I live and I took this photo around a week ago. It was taken with my smartphone and I edited it by making the sky more realistic and added a cool filter. I think it could have been better without the trees but if I removed them then the image would probably lose its style a bit. Overall this is a pretty good image.

Reagan M - Red and Blue

The title of my image is “Red and Blue”. It was taken at my house in September. It was taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III. I edited this photo by using the Camera Raw Filter first. Once I edited that, I painted on top of it using the brush settings in Photoshop. It would be better if I shot the photo differently. This is an image of my sister holding up two glowing spheres.

Rosalyn L- Pumpkin

This picture is titled “Pumpkin” This picture was taken in my old best friends car at childrens hospital parking lot on October 5th, 2024. This picture was taken on my phone with A couple seconds saturation to it. The way i edited this picture was by adding color and adding a grain color to it to make it pop more. This picture can be better if i were to take a better angle.

Dani H- Natura Beauty

The title of this photo is Natural Beauty. This photo was taken in my living room before my niece went to school. This was taken with my phone. I had to make the photo a little darker and longer with her skin. Tone and fix parts of her hair and take an outlet off the back wall. If I could have fixed more part of her hair in the back. I call this photo natural beauty because that is what it is the way she smiles how her eyes just lit up.

Angel H- Soccer Net

This picture was taken behind a Saint Peters Church, and it was taken sometime last year. The image was taken with my phone. I edited the picture by making it seem more like a 90s type of image. I gave it dark shadows, I decreased the brightness and contrast, I also cropped the image. I could’ve probably made it better by giving it less lighting, and removing some trees.

Joshua N- Oil Lamp

The image I took is called “Oil Lamp,” and I took it on my side porch on September 24th. I used a Nikon D5100, and started editing it in photoshop. I started editing it by increasing the clarity to see the condensation in the lamp, then made it warmer to see the oil better. I probably could have lined the lamp up better with the sun, but am very happy with the finished result.

Angel M- Cake with Candles

This image was taken at home in October, capturing a small piece of cake with candles burning brightly. I edited it to capture and emphasize the glow of the candles and I kept the background dark to make the light stand out even more. I think the contrast between the darkness in the background and the light gives the image a striking yet simple appearance.I could have made the image better by using a different lighting angle to show more detail.

Markus M- Morning But Odd

This picture is called “Morning But Odd”. I titled it that because it gives off an eerie feeling thanks to the darkness surrounding the bright entrance. I took this picture in my apartment complex in the morning while I was taking out of my dog, which isn't easy if you have a large, anxious, hyper dog that tugs his leash when he sees and living or non-living thing. I took the picture on my phone, which is an iPhone 13. I edited it in class, I believe the next day or the day after, on Photoshop. I don't think I could do better with it, I just did my best to use the materials I had on hand, so this is just the best I can do. And that's all about this picture it was easy to shoot and edit it.

Ethan S- Mirrored Life / Mirrored Fife

This image is titled Mirrored Life / Mirrored Fife as it is a mirror image of my bedroom wall with a metal poster of Barney Fife from The Andy Griffith Show. I took it in my bedroom about two months ago for the About Me assignment at my mother’s house. I used a Nikon D40 DSLR Camera to take this picture. I edited color, sharpness, added a vignette, and messed with the lighting a little bit. I wish I had a little bit of a better angle on the image but otherwise it’s pretty good. I don’t have any extra info, but watch The Andy Griffith Show, it’s great.

Samantha M - Rackigans

This picture, titled “Rackigans”, a play on the word “hooligans”, was taken at the Hoover Band’s first BOA performance this competitive season after the band had made finals and was waiting for their results. After being put in a single file line, the picture shows members of the percussion rack group very not in a line, acting goofy because it was 10:45pm and we were ready to go home since we had been going for 15 hours straight. It was taken from my iPhone and in a rush because the rack boys were moving around quickly (they are hard to capture because of their erratic sense of energy and spontaneous silly poses). It did not help that our environment was dark out so the phone had to work a little harder for a fuzzy picture. Taking this differently I would have kept my hand a little more still so movement would not have been a part of the thing the phone was working against. I edited this with crop and a bring down in warmth. To me, these three convey what band is supposed to be about - having fun and living life together.

Davis M- Untitled

I took this picture in my garage last week, I took it with my phone, and edited it, i edited the contrast and brightness, and tweaked the image to make it look a little darker. I think i could make it better by somehow removing all of the glare and it maybe not being on my wrist

Rachel S- Double Luck

My photo is titled “Double Luck.” I chose this name because rainbows are associated with luck, and this is the first time in my life that I have witnessed a double rainbow in person. I took it at Montmorency Falls in Québec, Canada. It was taken with my phone. I edited it by increasing the contrast slightly to make the rainbow colors pop more. I also cropped it to get rid of the stranger’s hands in the photo. I think it could be better if I didn't increase the contrast of the rock. The contrast most definitely helped with the colors of the rainbow but it made the rocks look yellow. Even though the rocks were already a less than appealing color, it made them more noticeable.

Calliope T- Cats1

This Image is called “Cats1” because it’s a picture of cat figures. It was taken October 1st, 2024 on my front porch. I took it with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi. I think it could be better if I had put some of the light in the middle or bottom, and not just on the top. I edited it by darkening the image a little bit and adding a purple hue to the picture. I like how this picture turned out.

Cordel W- Day and Night

This photo was taken at a party I can't remember the date it was taken. It was taken with an iPhone. I edited with the Photoshop App. I think it could of been better if I made it look more into a 3d type form.

Sadie S- Swimmer

The title of the selected image is “Swimmer”. It’s a photo that i took of my little brother when he was at swim school. It was taken with my Iphone 12. I edited it using the camera raw filter and making adjustments to tint, saturation, noise, and light. I think it would be better if there wasn’t so many distractions in the background.

Nicholas T - Lantern

The title of the photo is “Lantern”. I took it on September 19, 2024 outside of my garage. The photo was taken with my DSC-W800. I increased the brightness of the light and increased the shadows and contrast. I may have overdid the lighting.

Kaitlyn W- Under the Sea

The title of this beauty is under the sea, it was taken in my pantie with a candle light and it was the darkest room in the house. It was taken with my camrae not my phone because my phone could never get this kind of quality. If the candle was bigger it would have had a different turn out. I didn't like the way it just looked like a really random top of the pineapple s I would have backed it up so you could see the detail of the whole entire pineapple.

Victoria S- Homecoming Hydrangeas

My photo is called Homecoming Hydrangeas because these are the flowers I decorated my house with on the night of the homecoming dance. It was taken September 29th during the day on my patio. I took it with my camera, the Nikon D3300. I edited it by increasing the brightness and saturation. I also used the spot healing tool in Photoshop to touch up my image. I think it could be better if the white hydrangeas weren’t blurred.

Caleb L- Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls State Park, New York May 14, 2023. It was take for some memories. I didn't edit it at all.  I think it would be better if I had added some more light and shadow adjustments.

Marvin M- Beautiful Skies

I took this image in the back of a Target. I took it with my phone. I edited to show the shadows a little more detail. I feel like it could be better if I increased the backlight a bit more.

Montana T- Acoustic Guitar

This picture was taken in August when we first started school in my neighborhood. It was taken with an iPhone 15 pro and edited to make the guitar pop out in the picture. This picture could be better if the cars weren’t in the background.

Anna G- Cool Moon

This image is titled “Cool Moon”. I took this picture in my front yard in the late afternoon/early evening after school in late August. I took this picture with my Nikon D5100 camera using my extra zoom-in lens. I edited this photo by making the sky a bit lighter and more vibrant so it looked more blue than black. I made a new layer with only the moon on it so I could bring back the contras and the detail of the texture of the moon without affecting the background. I think this picture could be better if the leaves were a completely black silhouette rather than having a bit of green in them.

Nora M- Florida

The title of my image is Florida. My photo was taken in Florida during the summer of 2022. My photo was taken with an iPhone 13 Pro. I edited my photo by increasing the exposure and shadows, decreasing the contrast and highlights, and increasing the saturation. I think my image could be better if I made the colors more vibrant.

Maggie P- Acceptance

This photo is titled Acceptance, based on the meaning behind spider lilies surrounding death and the feeling evoked by the sunlit flower in the photo. I took this photo in my backyard on September 23rd with my Canon EOS Rebel. To edit, I cropped the photo and then did a little bit of color grading and lighting changes to adjust the shadows. I don't know exactly how I’d make this photo better, but I know there’s something about it that could be improved, I just can’t seem to point it out specifically.

Caroline L - Lavalamp Slash

This is “Lavalamp Slash”. It was taken on October 1st, in my room on my floor. I edited it by increasing the Brilliance, exposure, contrast, and saturation. I decreased the shadows, black point, and vibrance. I also went into photoshop and blacked out one of the annoying reflections. It could have been better if I had removed the glare on the lava lamp itself.

Ashlyn G- Breathing Fire

The title I chose for this image is breathing fire because of the dragon shooting fire. This was taken at Universal Park in Harry Potter Park this march on the band trip. It was taken with my Iphone and I edited it by increasing the light of the fire and removing the people in the background.I think it could be better if I took it at night so the fire could really pop.

Luke F- PAC

This was taken in the new PAC center on Friday two weeks ago. I didn't have my nice camera so I used my phone. I played with the white contrast and the colors of it. I think the person could've been less blurry for a more sharp picture

Jaxson L- New York Skyline

The name of the photo is the New York Skyline. It was taken at the Scranton ferry on December 9th. This photo was taken with my iphone 14. I changed some of the lights that were taken away from the photo and turned up the brightness overall. I wish I had used a better camera and had a more stable place to take the photo.

Daniel K - editedbooknight

I titled this image “editedbooknight”, which was more utilitarian when sorting through the file explorer rather than if I were to come up with creative nomenclature. It was taken in my room at around 8pm one night and I took the photo with a Nikon D750 camera that had a variable lens on it (the focal length I set it to was around 200mm). I edited the image by removing clutter from the side as well as slightly brightening up the overall image before applying vignette. I think the focus on the lens could better show the text on the pages, but the angle the photo was taken really only allowed me to put individual paragraphs into focus. While I could have changed the angle, I think the dynamic point of view produces a more interesting photo and, as such, I think the sacrifice is worth it.

Lamon J- Mantis Pose

The title of this image is Posing Mantis and it was taken outside of Premier Theatre in Bessemer when I saw a Chinese Mantis outside the door. I took the image with my phone since I didn’t have my camera just on hand. In order to enhance the image I boosted the clarity a bit and increased the saturation of the image. Those were really the only minor adjustments that I thought were necessary. Other than that I am pretty satisfied with the final product of the photo.

Jogre S- Tree

The picture was taken in Aldridge Gardens on August 19th. I titled this one, “Tree” I decreased the highlights and brilliance. I then played around with the selective coloring to bring out some colors around the trees’ face. I decreased the brightness, contrast, and black point as well. I increased the cast, saturation to vibrance. This dims some of the more bright colors but also allows some new colors to come out. I think the tree would look better if there were more variety of colors around the nose and mustache. The angle of the photo could have been more to the right as well.

Angel E- Colorful Beach

The title of this photo is the Colorful Beach. I named it that because it's a very colorful and highlight picture I took and edited. I took this photo in the summer when we went on a cruise with my family to see some dolphins. It was in destination florida. It was taken on my iphone.i used the dodge tool to brighten up the water and more light from the buildings, i also used the camera raw filter and gave it a purple tint and made the color more yellow.i think it would be better if i could make the water clear and blue . This photo was captured because it was just on my mind about how beautiful the world can be sometimes and I love how light reflects at night.

Liam D- Playground

This image is named “Playground”. It was ten in a playground near my house in September around eight thirty pm. I edited it with photoshop by changing the hues as well as the brightness. By lighting the image up and putting a red tint on the image and a blue hue creating the dark purple effect. If I had a tripod and stabilized the camera more than I feel it would look higher and if I didn't move my legs to create the blurry effect. It was inspired by J Cole's 2014 forest hills drive album cover. I would've been in the house but I was told no.

Evelyn J- Church

This image is titled “Church.” I took it at the St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on September 19, 2024. I took it with a Nikon d3500 DSLR. I made the church darker and added a bit more colour. I also added a layer and brightened the stars so they stood out more.I think it could be cleaner/sharper.

Laura H- WWII Vetrans Memorial

This photo was taken during the summer at the WWII veteran’s memorial in France. It was taken with my phone, but I still think it turned out good! I worked in Photoshop using vignette and other things to edit this photo. I edited this at the beginning of the year and wish I edited it better knowing what I know now but overall I am very happy with this photo.

Brayden H- Sibling Memories

The name of this picture is “Sibling Memories.” I took this picture in the living room of my house August 30, 2024. I took this picture with my iPhone 13. I edited this picture by enhancing the lighting, brightening the color, sharpening the image, and adding a little bit of vignette. I think this picture would have been better if there was not a glare on the glass.

Andrew C - Squack

The photo title is Squack it was taken on 10/28/23 at the Alabama Wildlife Center. It was taken while I was working on my Eagle Scout project. I took this picture with my phone and did not edit it.

Chandler D- The Beautiful Island

The title of this photograph is “The Beautiful Island”. This photo was taken in the Bahamas, this year in August with my iphone 14 Pro Max. To edit this photo I increased the brilliance and exposure of the photo, and  added a few highlights.

Emily C- Watching You

The title of my photo is “Watching You”. This image was taken on the sidewalk directly in front of my house. This photo was taken with my canon camera. When editing this photo I lowered the exposure to make the photo look creepy and gloomy. I also created a shadow to make it look like someone was watching the subject. If the photo was in more focus it would be way better. All and all I love the way this image turned out.

Lily D- Around the World

This image is called “Around the World”. It was taken last year at school. It was taken with a face of a person and a picture of a map and those two layered on one another. I edited this using photoshop and adjusting the vibrance and exposure. I think it could be better if the map was less blurry.

Chloe C- Strength

The title of my selected image is, ‘Strength’. I took it a couple of months ago while I was at a party with my friends. One of my friends decided to take a nap on the floor and I went to make sure he was okay. I noticed the bible verse on her arm and saw the perfect opportunity for a picture. Before the party, I had the idea to bring my sony camera that I have been using for all of our assignments. I didn’t have to edit this picture too much because the atmosphere was dark enough already. I think this photo could be better if it wasn’t as grainy as it was. Besides that detail, I really enjoy this image!

Xenon S - Rainbow Sunrise

The title of this photo is Rainbow Sunrise. This photo was taken on March 24, 2024 on an airplane flight from Boston, MA, to Cozumel, Mexico. I took this photo with my iPhone 15 camera. When I edited this photo, I decreased the brilliance, exposure, highlights, shadows, and contrast. I also adjusted the luminance and slightly reduced the noise. I wish the photo was a little less blurry, but since the plane was in motion that would have been difficult to do.

Mary Alex R- Sequoia

I titled this picture “Sequoia” because I took it while I was in Sequoia National Park back in March. I actually took this picture on my iPhone while we were driving. I really loved this picture in general because it's so gorgeous, but I adjusted the curves, brightened up the edges a little bit, and turned the sharpness all the way down. The only thing I could’ve done better given the situation would’ve been to get rid of the reflection on the windshield. Overall, I love this picture and I love snow :)
