Angel M- Black & White

I took this picture in November. It was taken with a Canon camera. I edited this picture by making it black and white because the original colors looked dull. This image would have been better if there was more detail in the background.

This is a great photo.I love the black and white and the plain background with no distractions.

I really like this picture and I think your desired improvements of background detail would actually remove the charm of the photo. Currently, by having absolutely nothing behind or around the subject, it almost looks like a 3D model floating in an unrendered plain. Additionally, I like how the noise adds depth to an otherwise black back and foregrounds. The focus is also done well; even though it is not perfect, the subtle blur works well with the noise. - DK

I really like the black and white coloring on this image. Also the way the only book that has a title visible is on top of the stack because it draws your eye to it. The plain black background also helps the focus to be on the center.

XS HHS: I like how simple this image is. I think the black and white coloring makes it more satisfying to look at than if all of the colors were jumping out at us. The photo seems a little out of focus and blurry, which might be a choice but I think it might have been interesting to see how it would look in focus. I think the background being blank keeps the photo simple and allows for the details of the papers and books to be the subject, rather than having a busy background take away from it.

I like the simplicity of the picture. The monotone, depthless background adds a feeling of void and isolation. The books and papers stacked nonspecifically, it reminds me a lot of The Twilight Zone for some reason. I really like the vibe of this image. - E.S. - HHS
