Irais B - I.S.M.T.T.T.

This picture I have named  I.S.M.T.T.T. Stands for a song called “I Sent My Therapist To Therapy” by the artist Alec Benjamin. I took this photo on September 17th in a theater located in Atlanta, Georgia. This artist in general means a lot to me since I've been listening to his music for a while now. I took this picture on my iPhone 14. I lowered the darkness on this photo and cropped it quite a bit. I also messed with the saturation of some of the colors. I wish I would've had a netter quality camera so you could see it in a less blurry setting, but other than that, I think this photo is quite nice.

Maddie B- Green Bird

This is a photo of a bird and a round light with a lava lamp and a digital clock in the background. The title of the image is “Green Bird” because the bird is the subject of the image. I feel like the way it’s facing the lights in the foreground makes it seem like the bird is contemplating something deep. I took this picture in my room after school one night and edited it with Photoshop. In Photoshop, I cropped the image, made it brighter, and used the smudge tool to remove some noise on the surface of the table. I think it could be improved if I had taken the picture at a better angle that was a little higher up. I also wish the picture was a little clearer. Overall, though, I like the arrangement of the bird and the colored lighting, as well as the way the clock is visible in the background to show that it’s late at night.

Ellie B- Monument

The title of this image is Monument. It was taken last spring break on March 22nd, 2024 at The World Trade Center Monument/Museum. The photo was taken with my phone. I made the picture black and white to enhance the contrast and cropped it slightly to focus more on the building. I think it would be better if there were fewer buildings in the shot. I took this while on a trip with the theater to New York City.

Finley B- Perspective

The name of this picture is Perspective. I took the picture in Hawaii in December 2022. I adjusted the colors to make it look both cool and warm and to bring out the trees above making them resemble puzzle pieces. The picture could be improved by trying a different angle or viewpoint.

Milo B - Bailey

The title of the image is called Bailey. It was taken August 24th at my grandparents house. It was taken with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I turned up the brightness and turned down the saturation. It could be a little more focused.

Morgan W- More Than A Library

My favorite image is titled “More Than a Library”. This was one of my panorama shots that I took at the school. I took around 13 shots and merged them together. When everything was merged I flattened the image and brought out every single color in the picture. This was definitely one of one of my favorites to edit. This was my first time taking a panoramic shot so that's something new that I know how to do. I enjoyed being able to go around the school and take a bunch of random pictures.

Jordon W - Silver

This is a photo of the dragon that I took at Universal’s Harry Potter section. I took it with my iPhone and edited it using Nik Collection’s Silver filter. I’m fairly proud with how this image considering how I took it last second right before the fire came out.

Reid S- Tree

This picture is called “Tree Log”. I took this picture on April 24. 2024 in my front yard. I took it with my iphone. I edited this by lighting it a bit more and zooming in. I think this image could be better if I cropped in a little more.

Aleli S- Red

This photo was taken at Birmingham Botanical Gardens On April 14th This photo was edited a lot i got rid of all the other colors so really make the red standout

Maggie O- Bloom

This photo is called “Bloom”. This was taken in my front yard with my Canon T7. I titled it “Bloom” because it is one of the first things I’ve seen start to bloom in my yard. You can also see in the photograph how not all the flowers have bloomed yet. It is in the process of blooming. In order to edit this photo I raised the sharpness and upped the contrast. I also altered the colors a lot. I do wish that the background wasn’t as blurry, but otherwise I love this photo.

Maggie O- Oz

This photo is titled “Oz” because it feels like a scene out of the Wizard of Oz, and the whole photo feels very cinematic. This was taken in my neighborhood right before sunset with my Canon T7. I love the way that the focus is on the tall fern but you can still see the trees in the background and can see the outline of the barn in the distance. To edit this photo I had to remove the two telephone poles in the background, and then I sharpened up the image and added some color overlays. I wish that the plants were more in focus, but otherwise I am very pleased with this photo.

Remo M - Nightmare Church

This is “Nightmare Church” because I like how surreal the whole thing feels. It adds a more horror feeling to it by making it black and white and blurring some things.

Porter M - King Beckett

This picture is called King Beckett. I took it at my friend’s house, in his neighborhood, and it was a very cool shot. I did not do too much editing for it, I lowered exposure and raised highlights. I took this with my phone, and I could have gotten more of the structure in the shot.

Kayli M - Vibrance

This is an image I took on my camera while on the zoo field trip. I edited it by slightly increasing the clarity and making the colors more vibrant. The image could have been better if there were more flowers.

Brooke L- Lonley Flower

I took this at Chase lake and I really like the focus of the flower compared to the rest of the grass. I also like the unfocused split grass that is kind of framing the flower. I edited this picture by taking out some of the similar flowers to have a better focus on the one I wanted to show, centering the picture more toward the middle and overall brightened up the photo and brought more definition to the middle of the flower.

Reagan P - Whats That?

The title of this photo is “What's That?”. The photo was taken on April 7th at Aldredge Garden. This was taken with my Sony camera and I did not edit this photo in any way. I feel like the photo could be slightly better if some blemishes were edited out .

Marshall P- Vivesa

I like this image because of the coloring and just the overall feel of it. This is a cool photo and I edited it by using the Vivesa effect. It just changed the coloring and shading of it. Overall pretty simple but good.

Katelyn N - Nature Detail

This image, titled “Tree” was taken in my backyard. I used my phone to capture the photo. I edited it by adding warmth, adjusting the curves, and cropping it. It could be better if I had been closer to the locust on the tree. I would love it if it could be more focused, but I still like the image.

Samantha M- I See The Light

This Image is called ‘’I See The Light’’ inspired by Disney’s Tangled. I took this photo on my last trip to Walt Disney World during Spring Break with my iPhone 15. This image was a part of the Composite Assignment where I combined photos from previous assignments using different blending modes and filters. I feel like this image is some of my best work and I wouldn't change anything about it, but I definitely could've taken a cleaner shot of Rapunzels Tower.

Cailyn M - Blue Wave

I titled this image Blue Wave I titled it this because ou baseball team is the Excel wave and their colors are blue and white. I took this image at the lakepoint sports center in Acworth Georgia. I took this image with my Nikon Camera. I brightened this image up a little but and drew attention to the player in the image. I think if anything in this image could be better it could be a little bit clearer but other than that I really like how this image turned out.

Paige L - Flamingos in Love

The title is “ Flamingos in Love “. This was taken at the Birmingham Zoo at 10:02 am. It was taken with a iphone 14 pro max. It was edited by cropping the original photo and changing the exposure. The shadows could be better and the exposure.

Blake P - Wild West

The title of this image is “Wild West”, it was taken April 27th 2024 at the Birmingham Zoo. I took the picture on my Nikon D5100 with my 55-200mm AF-S Lense. I added a sepia filter, used camera raw to give a nice vignette and add some grain to give it an older look. I really like this picture and there really isnt much I would change.

Owen P- bl0ss0m

This image is named bl0ss0m. It was taken about a month ago outside of Seeds Coffee. I took it with my IPhone 15 Camera. To edit it, I turned up the overall colo and tried to make the greens and blues pop. I think t could be better if it was a wide shot, but i also like the close up, cramped feeling this picture has.

Bri L- Chips & Dip

The name of this picture is called Chips and Dip. I took this picture at Firebirds back in August. This picture was taken on my IPhone 13 Pro Max. I edited this picture by adding brightness and dimming the background. I don’t think this picture can be any better than how it already is.

Zoey M- Skyrise

I chose skyrise because it sounds pretty. I just picked some random name that sounds nice but also fits the image. I took this with an Olympus SP-720UZ. This was taken in my aunt’s backyard sometime in April 2024. This one I probably did the most to. This is my favorite because of the colors in it and the way it turned out. I did the best on this one. The lighting outside was so beautiful and it really helped with the image. It made it easy to make the trees dark  but also the sky very visible. The light leaks being towards one side of the image makes it look so good. I also like how the tall trees have shorter trees besides them.  I did a lot of editing, some of which I don’t remember. I know I did a lot to it but I’m not sure if I remember everything I did. I was just doing stuff and seeing if it looked good. I do know that I used Nik Collection 6 Color Efex and decreased the contrast. I also used light leaks from Nik Collection 6 Analog. I lowered the contrast to give it that silhouette look. I wanted to use a filter from the color nik collection that would give the sky a rosy like hue. Just because I like pink and I thought it would look pretty. I added the light leaks because I wanted to do something extra that would make the image look good. I enjoyed this assignment both taking pictures of nature and editing. I love nature even though I don’t go outside often. It's so beautiful. So editing and taking pictures of nature was very enjoyable. Sometimes I didn’t know how to improve a photo or what to do with it. However, I learned when this happens just do stuff and see what happens. It would be better if I got a clearer shot.

Harleigh P - Ostrich

I named this picture Ostrich. I named it that because it is literally a Ostrich. I took this image with my Canon EOS camera while we took the trip – going to the zoo. Originally there was a fence blocking the Ostrich but I used the remove tool on Ps and it helped me see the Ostrich more. I wish the background was a little more blurred but overall, I like this photo.

Shelby S- Flamingo Paradise

I call this photo “Flamingo Paradise.” This picture was taken at the Birmingham Zoo during the Zoo field trip. It was taken with my Canon eos t4i, which is actually my mom’s camera. I edited it by using the HDR Nik application and added vignette to sharpen the focus. I think I could made this photo look more funky to add interest into it

Kye W- Summer of 2024

On April 23rd, 2024, during the vibrant summer of that year, this captivating image was captured in the serene ambiance of our school courtyard, overlooking the solemn memorial stone. Using my trusty Canon T7 Rebel Camera, I skillfully framed the scene and then applied my artistic touch during the editing process. I crafted a mesmerizing yellow-green gradient, gracefully transitioning from a radiant yellow at the top to a soft, soothing green at the bottom. To infuse a sense of nostalgia, I adorned the image with vintage filters, evoking the charm of a bygone era preserved in a time capsule.

While the image exudes a nostalgic allure, I envisioned enhancing its appeal by incorporating a touch of natural sunlight, which could have further accentuated the scene's warmth and depth. Nevertheless, this rendition found its purpose as a captivating entry in the second round of the art show, competing admirably in the nature category. As the image continues to resonate with viewers, it serves as a poignant reminder of the beauty and tranquility found within the familiar confines of our school courtyard.

Darnell C. - Sand Kitty

I named this Sand Kitty, for obvious reasons. I took this on the 24th of April at the Birmingham Zoo on the class field trip. I didn’t edit it much, other than cropping it a bit and it came out pretty good even though I took it on my old Iphon. It could’ve come out better if my phone wasn’t so old, and if I wasn’t rushed trying to take the picture with all the kids around getting in the way.

Harrison H- David

The title of this image is David because it's a picture of my friend David. This was taken around 10 o’clock at night and it was taken by the shades cliff pool. It was taken with my cannon eos rebel t7. I edited using NIK collection I used some filters i forgot what they were though. I feel like I could have taken this picture at daytime and that would make it look better.

Marissa H- Purple Flower

I titled this photo Purple Flower. I took it on April 24th at the Birmingham Zoo. I took this photo using my IPhone 15 pro max. I edited this flower by using the camera raw filter. When on the camera raw filter, I added sharpness, clarity, and I used the auto brightness tool. On photoshop I cropped the image and I also used the curve tool, brightness, exposer, and vibrance tools. I think this photo could be better if it was a little bit more clear but overall I am happy with this picture.

Ella H- Bird in Paradise

The name of this photograph is “Bird in Paradise.” I took this picture during the zoo field trip on April 24, 2024. I took this picture with my Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D camera. I edited this picture by decreasing the exposure and contrast, as well as increasing the saturation and vibrance. Because this photo is a bit blurry close-up, I increased the sharpness of the photo. I wish that I had a better focus on the bird so that the image came out a little sharper. However, I am pleased with how this photo came out.

Evie G - Flowering on a Summer Evening

This picture is called “Flowering on a Summer Afternoon”. I took this picture in the backyard of my house on an evening in early April with my Iphone 11. I edited by using the ‘lavender days’ filter from the Color Efex from the Nix Collection and then used the selective color tool to really make the red colors pop. Overall I would have tried to not get the pole in the image to the right next time, but overall I believe this is some of my best work I have produced this year.

Daniel F- Flamingo Fananza.

The title of this image is Flamingo Fananza. I named it this simply because I had no idea so I made something up. This image was taken on April 24th, 2024 a the zoo when we went on the field trip. I took this photo with my Nikon D7100. I edited this photo by changing the exposure and editing the sharpness as well as adding a vignette. I think this photo could have been better if the Flamingo was looking at me with an open eye. Flamingo fun fact: Flamingos get their pink color from eating shrimp (I still remember that from the sign).

RJ R- Warm Chill

I titled this image Warm Chill because the flamingos look like they are chilling and their colors are warm. I took it at the Birmingham Zoo during the field trip and took it with my Canon T3i camera. I edited it by brightening the image more and cropping it into the animal more for a close-up. I can’t really think of any way to change the image.
