Kristin S- Love Sunset

this picture was taken in a little woodsy area in russet woods. i took this with a cannon rebel xs.i edited this picture by boosting the contrast and lessening the brightness. i love the colors of the sunset and because of the mode i was in and the flash and a little bit of movement sam and anna’s hands are kinda see through which makes it a little bit cooler.

Matthew M- Nights Lights

The title of this picture is Nights Lights. I took this picture a couple of months ago downtown in the light tunnel. I took this with my Nikon D-50. I increased the contrast and saturation. It could be better if I took from a more creative angle.

Noah B- “B R E A T H E”

I call this photo “B R E A T H E”. This photo was taken in the middle of November in an abandoned landfill. I took this with my Nikon D3200 dslr. I used the overlay layer to add color to the background and to the eyes. I also edited white smoke at the bottom of the gas mask. It could be better if I took the photo with a better background.

Nick G- Pumpkin

I titled this picture “Pumpkin” I took this in October for the color assignment. I took it with my Canon S1500IX. I edited some dirt and other blemishes off the pumpkin to make it completely orange and clean. I made the background black and white to bring the orange out more.  I don’t really think there is much more I could have done to it to make it better.

Hub R- Heart of the City

I title this image “Heart of the City”. It was taken in Railroad Park in Downtown Birmingham and I took this in early December. It was taken with my Canon Rebel T5. I edited it with Photoshop by raising the saturation a tad and also boosting the vibrance of the picture. I have a wider angle shot but I like the colors in this one compared to the other shot. I wish I could of gotten more into the shot but I was pleased with the shot. I titled it “Heart of the City” because Birmingham is the steel city and when it was first building up as a city, the rails were used to transport the steel and other necessities but this shot shows the railcars and then also corporate Birmingham with the skyline.

Zayn D- The Pierre

I took this picture last month at fort lauderdale beach and I took this with my iPhone 5. I edited this by adjusting the hue, saturation and lightness in order to make the blue lights in the picture pop. I think this shot could have been better if I had taken it with my Sony Cyber shot.

Maria V- Glass Reflect

I took this picture with my Cannon Rebel T3i. It was taken near a pool. The glass is filled with water for the reflection effect. I tinted the cup to make it somewhat orange / purple. I love how the picture came out, it’s focused and is blurred in the background.

Michael P- Wilson

This picture is called “wilson”. the reason i chose this picture is because it is one of the better pictures i have taken. i took this in an open field by my house. This is one of my friends glove and his ball. we were throwing one day and i thought it was a pretty cool picture!

Katie J- Photoblog 5

This picture is called Photoblog 5. It as taken at my house over winter break. It was taken with my Nikon 3100. I edited the picture by adding a black and white filter and lightening her face. it could be better if i had more light naturally on her face.

Jacob M. - A Walk Through the Woods

The title of this is A Walk Through The Woods. This photo was taken the weekend before thanksgiving break in Moss Rock. I edited this photo by playing with the lighting and hue then bumping up the vibrance and saturation.

Kate M.-The Seamstress

I titled this picture The Seamstress because I realized that it was an address book for one. I took it at an abandoned house over the summer. I took it with my canon rebel t3. To edit it I just made it darker, added more contrast, and made it black and white. I think it could be better if I had centered the entire address book in the picture and maybe changed something in the background.

Nancy N.- Sunset

I titled this photo Sunset because it was taken around that time of day. I took this photo over the break at my grandmother’s house. The photo was taken with my iPhone 5s and edited with an app called VSCO cam. The photo would have probably been better if I had taken it with my camera and I really like the gradient effect the photo has.

Kyla H.- Go Red Sox

The title of this picture is called Go Red Sox because this is when they won the world series in 2013. This was taken in october at my sisters house. I was taken with my iPhone 5c. I edited it in iPhoto I made it cooler and blurred the edges. I wish i could have cropped my sister totally out without it cropping my nephew.

Sara W- Flower

I took this photo at Aldridge Gardens for the pick a color assignment. I took it with a nikon D4S. I used a separate flash to get more depth. I really didn’t need to edit it. i brought the contrast up and thats about it. i really like the way it is and i wouldn’t change it.

Jakleyn R - Romantics

This picture was taken in my backyard around 5:00 Pm or so. I took this picture with my Canon EOS 60D. I edited this picture by turning up the vibrance and saturation by a little both each, to make the colors pop out more. I feel like this picture would be better if i took it from a different angle. I really personally like this picture with the colors.

Meagan M- Fire Leaf

This is a composite picture. One picture is of a leaf on the street. The second picture is of the sky which i edited to be bright red. And the last picture is of tree leaves in the top right corner. I loved the colors in this picture. It could be better if there wasn’t just a white void up top.

Peyton H- Princes

This photo is named “princes” because it reminds me of my friend who goes by that name. I took this picture walking to the bus stop with my camera , the rainbow caught my eye and it had to be captured. This photo was edited wit a gray and blue selective color, also exposer, saturation, vibrance, and offense. I am happy with this photo and its peaceful vibes….

Jakelyn R - The Eye

This picture is called “The Eye”
I took this picture a month ago or so of Issac. I took this picture with my Canon ESO D60.
I edited this picture by turning up the blue/green saturation, and clearing up his acne. I think this picture would be better if that black side of his eye was like cropped out, or if it was from a different angle, also if i focused the picture more on his eye. Otherwise than that i still do like this picture.

Hannah W- Fire in the Sky

The title of this image is “Fire in the Sky”. It was taken about two months ago from my upstairs window. It was taken with a Nikon D-3100. I edited it by increasing the darkness around the window so the focus would be on the sun and frost on the windows. It could be better if I zoomed in on the window more to have the sun fill the picture.

Desha R- Glory

The title of the selected photo is glory. this is a Composite photo. The first photo i used was taken in Japanat a peace sanctuary , the second picture which is my face was taking from the night and day assignment a while back, the third photo is a huge flower taking in Japan, and the last is a picture or a dragon fly taking in a random persons front yard. I compiled all the photos to gather and blended them to make one. all these photos where taken with a Sony Alpha 5000 digital camera.

Natalie S- Pink Days

This picture was taken outside of my house during the beginning of the school year. It was taken with my digital camera. I edited this picture by adding contrast and increasing the saturation. I also made it a little bit darker so the colors in the picture would stand out. I could have added less contrast so it wouldn’t be so sharp. I like how the back of it is blurred so the viewer can focus more on the flowers and all of its colors. Overall I like the picture because of the orange, green and pink colors.

Braxton B- Lake Reflection

This photo is titled Lake Reflection, I took this photo while i was was Tuscaloosa. I edited this picture by changing the entire image to black and white, i then restored color to the trees and the reflection of the trees. if i had a chance to take the picture the picture again i would have gone a different location where the bars on the left wouldn’t have been seen or to a location where i was able to get a reflection of the nearby dock.

Allie B- By the Boot

This picture was taken in the preserve by the boot about 3 months ago

Bailey D- Red

This photo is called red. It was taken in October at the school in the parking lot. I edited it by cropping it and adjusting the contrast a little. It could be better if The trunk could have been a little more in focus.

Cole M - Refraction

The title of the image I chose is “Refraction”. The image consists of a suspended glass ball. Even though I used this picture in the reflection assignment, this image is a refraction; however, the clarity of the refraction within the ball allows reflection to be seen as well.

For editing, I rotated the image 180 degrees. I did this in order to show how the refraction also flips the image 180 degrees. In addition, I brightened the image and gave it a yellow tint in order to create a sunny atmosphere.

Chris B- Glowing

I took this picture with the help of Derek Tucker in the preserve. I did a composite and put the two in the background into the original photo.

Zoey E.- Pensacola

This is a picture I took about 2 years ago when i went to Pensacola over the summer. I really like how the bird was just standing there peacefully and how the sun ,made the sky more dramatic. I used a vintage filter. brightened it, and sharpened the image. It could have been better, to me, if i focused more on the bird.

Matthew E- Reflection

This is a photo of a bird bath in my backyard. I took this photo for the reflection assignment. I edited the image by added contrast and fading the image a bit.

Kelvin W- Sky Flower

This is a composite photo. I mixed 3 photos into one. I also put a darken layer.

Brianna S- NYC

The title of this image is “NYC”. I took it this past December while in New York for my mom’s 50th birthday. It was taken with my Nikon D3100. I edited it by adjusting saturation and the exposure, and sharpening some areas. It could be better if I had used a tripod so that there was better focus in the areas I wanted it to be.

Zohra P- Yellow Lilly

This picture was taken by me when I went to the Zoo. It was taken by my song cyber shot camera. I edited this by making the background dark and the flower a little bright from the top.I also contrasted it a big and put dark/light effects on the leafs. Overall I like how it turned out.

Maria F- Mexican Street

Over the break i went to Mexico to visit my family and i took this picture, personally I really like how the church looks and how the unlighted is hitting it. I think this picture could be better if i didn’t  had all those cords distracting the viewer.Overall i really like how this picture came out, i did edit the sky to keep its blue color but changes the levels for the rest of the picture to make it lighter

Carolina M- Natural Beauty

I took this picture of my friend Jordan when we did the portrait pictures and I edited it during exam week to give as a gift. I added two different black and white layers to get the right color. Well, the right black and white scale i guess. I used this picture because she looked more natural in this one than she did looking straight into the camera. I really liked the results of the picture.

Brianna S. - Christmas Morning

The title of this image is “Christmas Morning” because I took it that morning when I was taking my dog for a walk along a river walk for the Black Warrior River in Tuscaloosa at my dad’s apartment. It was taken with a NikonD7100 and all I did to edit it was enhance the colors a little bit. I think it could be better if it wasn’t so foggy and you could see a bit more of the tree lines in the back, but i’m happy with the way it turned out.

Ashley B- Flowered Ceiling

This is one of the composites i have been working on in class. the first image put in was a picture of the ceiling in Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. I took this when i went to see One Direction and 5 Seconds Of Summer in concert there. The second image is a photo i took for a previous photography assignment, and it is just a bundle of flowers. The third image is two burning candles, which were also taken for a previous assignment. I layered them all together and made a few adjustments, and then created this.
