Caroline L - Pink Flower in the Grey World

This is “Pink Flower in a Grey World.” It was taken in my neighbor’s yard. I took it with my NIKON camera. I edited it initially in the Photos app, then I went into Photoshop and made the background grey and kept the flower pink. It could have been better if the bottom half of the flower was entirely in focus. I wanted to take this picture because I saw this flower on a very bare bush, looking so lonely. I also sprayed the flower with water to give the image a cool effect.

I love the vibrance of the pink in this photo and the gray background. The water was a great addition.

I like the contrast of the noir background, it brings out a concept of life blooming in a desolate world. It's an interesting idea to think on. The water is a nice touch as well. I don't think the out of focus area on the bottom pedals is that noticeable, but it could have been a little more focused. Over all, good photo. - E.S. - HHS

I like the vibrant of the flower. It makes it look more alive. I also like the black and white in the background, it makes the flower standout. Overall this is a good picture, keep taking more!

I love how the flower pops out of the black and white background, that effect is very cool.

Wow Caroline! The water droplets were a great call and it shows how much you were thinking ahead on the texture of the flower. The black and white emphasizes how lonely the flower looks on a bare bush. Great job!
