Nick G- Sparks

I titled this “Sparks” because there are sparks all in the picture. I took this at night in an abandoned area in Hoover for the color assignment. I took this with a canon SX1500IS by using steel wool and a long exposure. To edit I just adjusted the brightness, contrast and exposure. To be better I would retake it and try to have more of the fire in the frame and less of the ground. I am overall happy with the way it turned out.

This is a really great photo. I've always wanted to experiment with steel wool photography stuff. The sparks in this shot are really awesome. This is a great overall photo.

This picture is wonderful! The exposure is perfect because you can see everything and the sparks are contrasted great with the ground. I like how the focus is on the sparks. I also like how the sparks arch off the photo. I really like this photo because you did a great job of capturing a moment.

This picture is amazing! The way you captured the sparks and the way the light reflects is done very well. I would love to learn how to do this. Its very impressive and is focused pretty well.

This picture is really cool, and i really want to know how you did this. I really like how there is the smoke in the center and the sparks go all over the place. If the background was a little darker, then i think the picture would be a little better, but other than that, the picture overall is really awesome.

Amazing! You did a really good job capturing this picture and getting a good focus on something thats moving. I agree that it would look better if the picture had less ground and maybe followed more the rule of thirds but its still really great! This is a great picture!

I like this idea. I think it's a great way to execute the long shutter speed and you did a very good job at executing it. I need to try this sometime. Great shot!

Hey Nick!
I love this photo, great work. I love your use of a unique technique that I haven't seen before. I can't think of many improvements that could be done to better this photo, other than possibly that there would be less ground and more sky in the set up of the shot. Otherwise, very nice photo!

I like this picture, the sparks look really cool. the lighting is good, the subject is well focused in and I like how you darkened the background because it makes everything in the picture pop even more. Good job!

This is a cool idea and is fun having done this myself. Next time I would stage the shot better because half of the sparks disappear and crop some of the bottom off. Also there is a lot of noise. Last thing is to reduce the glare on the lens which can be done with a filter or something along those lines.
