Cameron Y - Lights Out

This photo is called Lights Out.  It is taken of a streetlight outside of my house in the middle of the day.  I took this with my Nikon D50 on the Sunday before the project was due.  I edited the cast, contrast, brightness and shadows of it.  I am very very happy with how it turned out and I love the worm’s eye view aspect of the photo.  I don’t think I could’ve done much better in it.

I love how this looks and the angle of the light and how the trees look at the top. the first thing I focused on was the wood and the trees and then seeing the tree leaves in the back made me love the photo more. the balance of the lights and the colors are really good. I would keep this on my phone or print it and put it somewhere in my room I like it so much and think its really good looking

I like this photo because of the angle. The Lamp post looks as if its reaching into the tree because of the extreme angle which is honestly a very cool idea. I think the photo looks very muted which could have been edited by increasing the saturation, increasing the vibrance or even going the opposite direction and made the picture completely black and white. Another way in which the composition could be better is if the streetlight was centered or on a third line. Right now the lamp is just sort of near the middle and at an angle which doesn't make it the most appealing. Some of the parts of the tree were under exposed and i think this was because the photo was taken in the shade of that tree on what looks like an overcast day. It could have been avoided with a fill flash but I think that isn't as important to fix it in this picture because it still looks good.

I really like this photo especially the way the light hits the tree. The only thing I would change would be adding extra light.-Elijah B.
