Welcome to the Hoover High Digital Photo Blog.
Here you can see images and comments by Digital Photo students at Hoover High School. The blog will be updated daily so check back to see whats new.
This image was taken in the spring of 2018 behind Bumpus Middle School. It was taken with my Nikon D70s. I edited the image with photoshop and was taking a more pictorialism approach at the edit. The image could have been taken in better lighting.

I think this picture works very well. I like the deep contrast between the white and blacks of the models skin and jacket making him stand out more. Placing him in the center does another good job of bringing your eyes to him. Good use of the rule of thirds. I like how complex the background is compared to the simplicity of the jacket. - Jack J. I think the filter you used in this picture is great and perfectly goes with the picture. The lighting and shadows are great and the guy in the middle is perfectly centered. The only thing I think might need to change (even then I'm not 100% certain you should) the shadows a bit and let his hair have more shadow and depth. I also found this image funny because of the old projector in his hand and the funny facial expression.
I think that this is a very good picture and and I like the vintage vibe that it gives off. I feel like you could have maybe did a great contrast by maybe putting some color in the background and then making the black and white as the man to make a great contrast in the picture. I do however think that the projector Is a great vintage touch to the picture however. I believe that it did achieve the look that you were going for overall though.
I really like this picture! it is really detailed especially in the background which is really nice to see the nature scene in detail. Also I admire you approach to realism it makes the picture seem more capitative in my opinion. I do agree the the lighting could have made your picture look better. Other than that, its a really nice photo
