Nick G - Alley

I named this photo “Alley” because it is of an alley in downtown Birmingham. I took the picture with my iPhone 6 and edited the picture in photoshop, I adjusted exposure and warmed the temperature and added some sepia to it. I think it would be better if the photo was wider.

I do like the detail that is produced in this photo, it has great temperature and it has great clarity. I think that, instead of making your photo wider, you go closer to the alley's entrance and capture what is in the alley.

The depth of field of this image is deep. It shows depth into the alley from the beginning and shows an angle going into the alley. I like the lines whether it be down the window or the staircase going down the side of the buildings. I do think if you would of framed it better when you shot it to get the whole alley and less of the corner of the building on the right. I feel like the photographer's mood is to show the rustic, deep alleys of Downtown and he did a nice job capitalizing what he wanted to accomplish in the picture.

Woah! This is a really cool picture!!! I like how you took the picture in the ally and that you took it from an angle, because it makes this picture look really neat:) The one thing I would change is really just a picky thing... maybe next time you could make the colors on the buildings and on the ground stand out a little bit more, like by adding saturation or something similar. But overall, this is a great picture!!!

This might be my favorite photoblog image so far! I love the detail you were able to capture in the photo!! The color balance is just right- there no overwhelming undertones. Your ability to capture the depth of field, creates almost an illusion of an incessant alley. Perhaps if you were to edit this photo, you could bring out the color in the sky slightly, but that's just being knit- picky. This photo has so much character because it exposes the not-so pretty reality of the city. Well done!
