Caroline S - Flamingo

The title of my image is Flamingo because it is of one of the flamingos at the Nashville Zoo. This photo was taken in the morning right before we left to go home. I took it on an iPhone and I edited it by darkening the photo, sharpening it a little, and slightly turning up the vibrance. It would be better if it was better quality and if I would have taken it on an actual camera.

Javier O- Weather Report.

The Title of this selected image is “Weather Report”. This image was taken as I was driving and captured the beauty of the sunset during the month of October. It was taken with a smartphone and I edited it by removing some distractions and making the sky blend more which adds more of a settling tone. It could be better if maybe the tree wasn't there but I couldn’t remove it as it would only make the blending of the sky not look as good as it does now.

Reagan M - Boo

The title of my image is “Boo”. This photo was taken in October above my fireplace. It was taken with an iPhone 11. I edited this picture by adding more cool tones, and I made it look like a painting. I think this photo would be better if more decorations were in the background.

Danielle H- Mall View

This was taken at the mall's top or as high as I could get to. This was taken on my phone. This was from a video I took so I screenshot the video removed a few cars and made  it more green. I could have done better if I had taken the video when the sun started  to set  I could do a lot more like that.

Maggie P - Get Fresh

This photo is titled Get Fresh because that was the name of the event at which I took this photo. It was for the culinary academy at RC3, which I’m in, and was about ways to eat healthy without eating only ‘healthy’ foods. One of our teachers made homemade pesto and pasta, and I got this photo of him plating it. To edit the image, I tried to get rid of the grain due to how dim the room is and did some color grading to bring out the yellows and greens. I think while editing the brightness and contrast I accidentally made the pasta on the plate too bright, but besides that, I love how this turned out.

Ethan S - A Light in the Dark

This is A Light in the Dark. This photo was taken in my bathroom at my apartment about a week ago or something. I took it with a Nikon D40 DSLR. I don’t honestly remember how I edited it or if this is even the edited version, but I’m assuming it was cropped and had lighting edited. It could be clearer, but I didn’t have a tripod at the time.

Davis M- Frog

I took this photo at the farm with my phone in the kitchen window. I did multiple color gradients, generative fills, and color inverts. I believe I could make this photo bigger by increasing the size of megapixels it has. I lost the file a long time ago so I had to screenshot it.

Rachel N - The Sunset

This photo is called The Sunset. I took it on the Fort Walton Beach on July 30, 2024. I took it with my Iphone 15 Pro Max. I edited it by playing with the saturation and the shadows. I think it would’ve been better angle and time to take the photo. I took this when I was fishing with my dad. We stayed until night time and that is when I took this photo.

Tristen P- Sunset

This photo, Sunset 1, was taken behind the school on September 24, 2024, using my Nikon D5100. During editing, I enhanced the brightness and contrast and increased the vibrance and saturation, adjusting individual colors to bring out the depth of the scene. I also added a dry brush filter for a unique effect. One aspect I wish could have been better is a small black spot on my lens that showed up in the photo. Additionally, I would have liked to capture more of the sun in the shot.

Kais C- A Glistening Mirror

This picture was taken November 6 2024 inside of my house. My iPhone 13 pro camera. I used saturation filters and the used the threshold and cinematic preset for still life then I used it again and used HDR Efex to give it more color. I think i could’ve focused more on the mirror than the color on the photo

Samantha M - Metronome

This is my picture simply called “Metronome”. It was taken in an afternoon with my Canon camera after I ran down to the basement to try and get a shot of a metronome with two hands instead of just one. A spark of creativity had hit, so I didn’t wait until night when it was darker. My impatience said it had to be done right then. Unfortunately, because I was so impatient, I attempted several times to bring my creative vision to life but it never fully came to be. The yellow light seen was the light painting app I got for iPhone. I could never get my hand out of the shot, as seen with the red smudge at the top. The time to take this shot was around 20 seconds. After ten seconds I moved the dial to a different location, but it never was solid or clear like I had envisioned. If I spent a little more time and patience to get this specific shot, I am sure I could remove my hand smudge when taking the physical shot and get the dials to be clearer. My original goal was to get an “M” shape.

Montana T- Candles and Rings

This photo is titled Candle & Rings. This photo was taken in my room at night time and was shot with a Samsung A14. I edited this picture by making the background darker and adding some light to the fire of the candle to make it pop more. I also increased the detail of the rings to make them stand out more. This picture would've been better if the candle had been newer but other than that I like how it came out.

Rosalyn L- Pumpkin Patch

The title of this image is pumpkin Patch. This was taken At Helena on October 25th, 2024. This picture was taken on an iPhone. The way i edited this picture was by erasing some branches that were on the floor then I added brightness to it. I also added some texture and tint to it. It could have been better if the picture didn't look so zoomed in.

Caleb L- Waterfall 3

Taken at Niagara Falls, May 14, 2023. I was on a vacation.I could add more effect and more color

Anna G- Reaching

The title of this image is “Reaching”. There are multiple components to this picture. I took the picture of the sky a couple months ago on a saturday night in my backyard, I took the picture of the hand a few weeks ago in my backyard on an early sunday afternoon, and I took the picture of the moon a few months ago early in the morning in my front yard. All pictures were taken with my Nikon D5100 camera. I edited this picture by making the hand black and white, seperating it from its original background. Then, I dragged the hand to the picture of the sky and made a copy of the cloud on another layer and put it above the hand layer so the hand looked like it was coming out of the cloud. Then, I separated the moon from its original background and moved it to the picture of the sky and positioned it so it was just out of the hand’s reach. I think this photo could be better if the hand looked less choppy around the edges. I wanted this picture to look like a painting from a dream, because I really like how paintings are able to capture surreal dreamlike visions and I wanted to try to capture that same feeling with photography.

Rachel S- Swoop

My image is titled “Swoop” because that is the clear name of the airline on the wing of the plane. I took this picture over the summer on a plane ride to Canada. I love how you can see bits of the sunset and the night lights of Toronto below. I edited it by slightly cropping it and brightening the lights of the city below. However, I wish the picture wasn’t as grainy as it is. Because I took it through the window of a plane though, the quality is not as pure as it could be. Overall though, I really like the colors of this picture.

Chandler D- Boat Day

The title of this photo is “Boat Day”. This photo was taken in Panama City Florida, on The 4th Of July. This photo was captured on my iphone. To edit this photo i increase the brightness. I think this photo would be better if you could see the beach more.

Angel H- La Bandera

The title of the attached image is called “La bandera”  It was taken on September 15, 2024 The picture was taken on a phone I lowered the contrast, the brightness and gave it some shadows along with a dark colored blue. It probably could have went better by adding a bit more color to it in my opinion.

Nora M - Heart Tree

The title of the image is Heart Tree. This photo was taken in Yemen on June 4th 2024. I took this photo with an iPhone 13 Pro. I edited this photo by adding a preset filter and adjusting the blue hue of the image. I think this photo could be better if it was more vibrant.

Sadie S- Vroom Vroom

The title of this image is “Vroom Vroom”. It was taken at night in the parking lot of my house. It was taken with my phone. I edited it by brining up the saturation and light. I also brought the shadows down. I think it would be better if there wasn’t a glare on the left light.

Laura H- Neuschwanstein

This photo is titled Neuschwanstein because it's the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. I took this photo during the summer on a swinging bridge in Germany and it was taken with my phone. I used the saturation tool and art history brush to edit this photo. If I used a better camera, I am sure that the photo could have been better.

Lily D- On the Field

This image is called “On the Field”. It was taken at a ballpark around 2 weeks ago. It was taken with my iPhone 15. It was edited by using Photoshop and using the Filter Gallery filters. I think it could be better if I blurred out the background to make the subject stand out more.

Chloe C- COIN

The title of my image is ‘COIN’; the name of the band in the image. I took this image in late September at the Pilgrimage Festival 2024. I took it with my IPhone. I didn’t do much to edit it, just highlighted the red hue of the screen to make it stand out more. I think it could be better if the phone on the left side of the picture wasn’t there. I love all of the people’s hands up though. This picture was shot at the end of their set and I really couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out.

Branning C - Dawg

The title of the selected image is Dawg. It was taken in my backyard back in september. It was taken with a canon eos rebel. To edit it I decreased the brightness to make the image less bright. I think it could be better if I took longer time to edit it.

Nicholas T - From Scratch

The title of this photo is “From Scratch”; I named it for its scratchy appearance. I took this photo on Oct 18th, 2024 in my science class. As always I took it with my DSC-W800. I applied a scratch filter to it and made the scratches go from left to right. I probably should’ve removed some spots from the image.

Caroline L - Pink Flower in the Grey World

This is “Pink Flower in a Grey World.” It was taken in my neighbor’s yard. I took it with my NIKON camera. I edited it initially in the Photos app, then I went into Photoshop and made the background grey and kept the flower pink. It could have been better if the bottom half of the flower was entirely in focus. I wanted to take this picture because I saw this flower on a very bare bush, looking so lonely. I also sprayed the flower with water to give the image a cool effect.

Luke F- Shining

The title is Shining. I was taken at a carwash in Hoover around two weeks ago with my iPhone 14. I edited the colors a bit to make it slightly cooler. I could of cropped it a bit more.

Evelyn J- Backyard

This image is called Backyard. This photo was taken in a backyard with a Nikon d3500 DSLR in August 2024. I made the colours brighter for editing and gave it a film look. I could make the sky darker and everything brighter and sharper.

Lamon J- Glorious Light

This image is titled “Glorious Light” and it was taken at my grandparent’s church while I was sitting in a pew and noticed a striking piece of stained glass art. Because I wasn’t planning to take any photos originally, I didn’t have my camera on hand and took the original image on my phone. I really wanted to emphasize the yellow light coming through the window so I darkened the shadows on the surrounding area and made some of the lights in the background have a blue-ish hue. I really like how this image turned out and I don’t really regret any of my edits in creating the finalized version.

Jorge S - Memories

I took this photo with my phone on my porch on September 21st, I titled it, “memories” In Photoshop, I darkened the left half of the pot and lightened the other half. I then added the silver tone filter. This photograph could have turned out better if I had some more focus on the tree.

Ashlyn G- In the Streets of New York

I named this In the Streets of New York. This was taken in New York in March 2022 on the band trip. This was taken with my iPhone 11. I cropped the images and made it darker to provide a more eerie feeling. I could have dimmed down the lights on the wall because they do cause a bit of distraction from the overall image.

Calliope T - Sunset

The title of this image is sunset. It was taken August 23rd 2024 on shades cliff by the old Tip Top grill building. It was taken with a Canon EOS Digtial Rebel XSi. I edited this image by making the colors more vibrant and the image a little darker. I think it could be better if I got more of the sunset.

Liam D- Faded

The Image is called fade. It was taken in a sewer near the entrance to the Ross bridge trail at Night. It was taken with my camera using the timer as well as using the shutter speed slower to create the effect of me fading in. I edited using a purple hue and changing the brightness. I didn't edit it much, yet I wish I did more. I think if I was a little faster to be more faded and if I edited more. It was a fun photoshoot and I would love to do it again!

Jaxson L- Northern Lights

The title of this photo is the northern lights. I took this just outside my house in Hoover on October 10th at 9 pm. I took this photo with my iphone 14 and I just turned up the contrast to have the lights pop out more. Probably could have gotten a better view and place to have the lights pop out more. I find this crazy because seeing the northern lights in the south is very rare.

Joshua N- Summer Rain

The title of my picture is ‘Summer Rain’ because I took it in Moss Rock right after it rained. It was taken in early September, and I took it with a Nikon D5100. I edited it by adding a filter to make it more blue, and increased the highlights and sharpness to show the rain drops on the leaf. I think that if I had a better lens on my camera, I could have gotten the raindrops more in focus and made it look better, but I am happy with what I got.

Sarah S - My Lights

This image is called “My Lights”. I took it on my back porch during night about a month ago, with my iPhone 14. It’s edited to be more vibrant and sharp in the areas with bubbles, as well as making the blues of the background pop out more. I think it would’ve been better if I got the lights in the background more in focus.

Emily C- Golden Hour

The title of my image is “Golden Hour”. This photo was taken in Florida in the summer. This photo was taken with my canon camera. With editing this photo I really tried to capture all the details. I added shadows and lowered the exposure.I personally don't know how I would make this image better but I would love to hear suggestions for the future.

Angel M- Flowersssss

This picture was taken in a garden sometime in October. I edited it by increasing the contrast and exposure because when I took it it was under-exposed. It could have been better if i could see the bee a little bit more.

Andrew C - Kablooie

The title of the picture is Kablooie and is a picture of the front of the USS Alabama. It was taken with a Pixel 7 with no editing. Something that could make it better is if it was centered instead of it being on the right

Amaya T- World Puzzle

The title of this picture is world puzzle. The picture was taken on my bedroom floor, and it was taken on October 29, 2024. I took the photo with my iPhone 15 plus. I increased the lighting and darkened the shadows to edit the photo.

Kaitlyn W -Winter Wonderland

I love the mood of this picture, the ring light in my room. Not to be cocky but the light was right and the decorations were doing their thing. But I wish you could see more of the ornaments.

Maddie B- Stained Glass Hydrangea

The title of this image is “Stained Glass Hydrangea”. I took this picture back in August around the start of the school year with my Canon EOS R100 camera. It’s a picture of some hydrangeas in my backyard that were starting to wilt and were a cool color. I edited the picture with Photoshop’s camera raw and used the stained glass filter. Even though the details aren’t clear because of the filter, I like this picture because of the colors.

Mazzy C- Red Flowers

This picture is titled Red Flowers. It was taken on September 23rd, 2024 in my backyard at night. I edited this photo by making the reds stand out more and lowering the background’s exposure. This photo could be better if I had focused it a little more and made the light hit it closer.

River B- Bottled Lights

The title of my picture is “Bottled Lights”. It was taken at a pizza restaurant sometime in September. It was taken with my phone. I edited it by making the lights look brighter on the bottles. I think it coud be better if it wasn't so zoomed in. This was taken at my favorite pizza restaurant.

Irais B-C - Sunrise In Fall

I named the photo “Sunrise in Fall.” It was taken outside of my apartment home in the early morning while I waited for my bus to arrive. It was taken on my iPhone 14 with the regular camera setting. I edited the photo by removing the cars and making the background darker than the tree and the sky since those two were my main points. I also added some grain for texture. I think it could have been better if I could add more orange to the leaves but at the same time allow the green trees to stand out in their own way. Other than that I quite enjoy looking at the picture, I think it’s very pretty.

Hayden C - Fluff is Afraid

The title of this photo is “fluff is afraid” and it is of my friend’s cat Fluff before we left to go to the renaissance fair in Florence, Al, with my Canon camera. Fluff is an odd cat, she’s afraid of most things for what is truly no reason. (once I tried to play with a string with her and she was so scared of it she backed into the wall and made a loud thud). I edited it first by adjusting some of the colors to make everything warmer and the shadows not as dark, while also attempting to soften any areas that were overexposed. After that, I spent most of my time attempting to patch the blown out portions on the floor in the background from where the sun is shining. It’s not too bad, but if you look close enough to the background you can see it. Once done with that, I went back and turned up the warm tone just a smidge more since it still felt a little dull and brightened her eyes so you could see the green in them.I wish the background didn’t look like that, but there’s only so much I can do in the end.

Ellie B- Godzilla

The title of my image is Godzilla. It was taken at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville on July 18, 2024. It was taken on my iphone. I heightened the contrast between the darks and the lights of the picture. I also cropped it to better focus on the subject. I think it could have been better if I took it on a higher quality camera. I took this as a project for an architectural summer camp and it was originally supposed to show scale for the paper model shown in it.

Finley B- Zach Bryan Song

This picture is called a “Zach Bryan Song.” I captured the photo at the beach this summer while the sun was setting. I made it very pink and bright. I should have taken the picture from a better angle.

Milo B- Tip Top

This picture is called Tip Top. It was taken on October 5th, at the abandoned Tip Top Grill in Bluff Park. It was taken with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I applied a filter called Paint Daubs to make it look like it was a painting. The clouds could be a little bit more in focus, because the clouds are supposed to be the main subject.
