Zoey M- Purple Leaves

 This was taken in front of my front porch. It was taken on October 18,2020. I took this with my phone. I can’t exactly remember what model, but it was with an iphone. I didn’t edit this picture at all, but I feel if I did it would be better. 

Aleli S- End of the Day

 I called this photo “End of the Day” b/c its the sunset I took this December 27th In Riverchase

I did not change much all I did was, make the bottom darker  so that the sunset wound sand out more 

Kayli M - Neglected Succulent

This is a photo I cropped from another photo I took months ago of my very neglected and very bug infested plants. (The little marks in the middle of the leaves is where the bugs were eating the succulent) Which is, of course, why it is called ‘Neglected Succulent.’ I took this photo with my camera at my house and I edited it by getting rid of the concerning amount of dust and making the succulent colors pop out more. I do wish the lightning wasn’t so harsh and that I had moved some things out of the background but overall it’s a pretty decent photo. And in case you are wondering, the plants are healthier now and a lot less bug infested.

 

Brooke L- Movies

This picture was taken on December 1st in my garage. Its a bookshelf of popular movies and books that my family has collected. It was taken with my Iphone XR. And I edited it by taking up the exposure and saturation, I also put a filter on it. I It could’ve been better by having better lighting and showing more of the shelf.

 The title of my selected image is “About Me 3.” It was taken on August 21, 2023 at the front of Hoover High School. This photo was taken with my iPhone 11 camera. I edited this photo by boosting the brightness and vibrance and erasing some things. This photo could have been better if the brightness and vibrance was lowered a little bit due to the image being too bright, but I really like the composition of this photo. 

Cailyn M - Merry Christmas

I titled this image Merry Christmas. I took this picture at the Front Porch in Ross Bridge after me and my family dropped off presents to the restaurant for all of the employees. I edited it by making it slightly darker to emphasize the lights on the tree. I think it could have been better if I didn’t make it as dark because Some of the ornaments got lost in the shadows.

 This picture was taken at March 2022, Georgia. This picture was taken with Samsung Z-Flip 3. I reduced brightness and add other small adjustments. It could be better if it was taken with more professional equipment. I feel a deep connection with this picture, it brings a lot of memories about the times spent together with family in Georgia, I’d love to visit this place again.

I took this picture January 3rd 2024 in class at 3:33 p.m. I took this picture my red iPhone 11. I turned up the brilliance by 0.38%,Made the exposure 0.01% made the highlights negative 0.19, Added some brightness, A dash of shadows, And not too much on the contrast or black point. I could have made this picture better by Making Shelby give a more expressive Pose. Picture shows how much she'll be loved getting her head scratched like a Dog.

 This photo was taken on Sunday, December 30th.  This photo was taken in front of a Christmas tree by the ice skating in Pelham. This photo was taken with my friend mom iPhone. I like my friends mom just added a filter on the photo i think how it could be better if my friend mom got a little closer to use.

This photo was taken in Saint Petersburg with a iPhone 13 Pro camera. I edited it by turning down the brightness and contrast to a balanced ratio This photo was taken in 202. I think it could be better if the brightness was up a little.

 

Marissa H - Milo

 I titled this photo Milo because that is my cat's name. I took this photo on December 23 and it was when Milo was on the back porch. I took this picture with my Iphone 11. I edited this photo by putting the exposure down slightly, adding brightness to Milo’s eyes by using the dodge tool, I removed some little spots from the background, and I also used texture and sharpening on this photo. I like this photo a lot already, but I could have tried to get the picture a little more clear and I could have spent more time on photoshop editing tiny things. 

Haiden G- Bridge of the Night

The photo is named “Bridge of the Night”.  Photo was taken on September 2 2023 and i forgot where i took it and was taken and i didnt edit this photo cuz i didnt know how to edit it to make it look better and i would say way to make it look better is try to be more focus on the bridge a bit more 

Jaiyva C- Standstill Sunset

The title of my image is Standstill Sunset for the fact it was taken between Christmas and New Year’s. The time between those holidays kind of blends together and it’s like time doesn’t pass. It was taken with my Iphone and I edited some leaves and miscellaneous things off the bricks and tiles. It was taken at my dad’s house in Tuscaloosa. It could’ve been better i I went more outside because the trees and fence kind of block the focus of the shot, which is the sunset. 

 

Shelby S - Sunset Boulevard

 The title of my picture is called Sunset Boulevard. This was taken in Daphne, AL at around 5 p.m., December 27, 2023. I was with my Dad over the winter break, so all I had with me to take pictures was my phone. I think it would’ve looked prettier with my Canon camera. When I was editing this picture in the camera roll, I used auto and my phone added some brightness and a little saturation. I added the vignette myself to add some depth. It could’ve been better if I used a better camera, and if I had taken that picture a little bit earlier. I remember everyone posting “go look outside!” and I didn’t really care much until my dad told me to. The sky was full of oranges and pinks and purples, and I was stunned. I ran all the way to the pier to capture a picture of it.

Zander H - Calm Clown

This was taken in my dining room in my house, and it was taken November 13th. I took this photo with my Canon Rebel T7. I edited this photograph by first making it black and white to add to the mood of the photo. I also darkened in a circle around the photo to help with the main focus being on the figure and also again helping with the mood. I edited some of the color hues to help fit better in black & white. I feel like this photo could potentially be better if the setting was taken in a more aesthetic area or scene but I still like the outcome of the photo. It also might of looked good if it was in color still ut more zoomed in and focused on the figure with the background blurred. 

 

RJ R- Vibrant Flower

This photo is titled Vibrant Flower. I took this photo with my phone and  in front of Hoover High School near the time I got off from school on some day. I took out all the colors from the image except for the red and white flowers. I wish I took this image at a different angle or took more time to take the image but I overall really like this image. 

 

Ella H- Lazy Day

The name of this photograph is “Lazy Day.” I took this photo as a part of my About Me Assignment in my house on August 21, 2023. To capture the image, I used my Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D camera. I had done minimal editing to this photograph, enhancing the brightness and vibrance, and changing the contrast. However, I do wish that I had increased the brightness a little more so that you can see the subject better.

Evie G - The Art of Getting Ready

 The title of this image is ‘The art of getting ready’. I took this picture with my Canon Ax700 in the photography studio here at Hoover on November 9th, 2023. I edited this image by giving it more of a pink hue, which really makes the pink brush stick out. I wish that I would have straightened ou the backdrop more on this image, and maybe add a few more small pieces into this image, but overall I am happy with how it turned out.

Chris H- Color Lamp

 The name of this image is “Color Lamp”. The unedited image was taken on Nov. 13 2023 in my old English teacher’s class. I took this image with my phone and I edited it in the Photoshop app. I wish that the “P” in Power wasn’t cropped out behind it. 

Katelyn N - Shoe

This image, titled “Shoe”, was taken at my house. I took this photo with my iPhone. I edited it by bringing the brightness down and raising the sharpness to enhance the detail in the laces. I think it could be better if I had cropped it in more. 

Maya H- Bones, Bones, Bones

 This is a photo of some bones that my girlfriend gave me as a birthday gift; they are from a baby deer that she found dead in the woods by her house. The quote is lyrics from a song called “Skeleton Appreciation Day in Vestal, NY (Bones)” by Will Wood and the Tapeworms. I chose these specific lyrics due to their obvious relevance to the subject of the photo as well as their meaning. To me, it is saying something like “show me the ugly parts of you”—represented by bones—“and I will love you anyway.” I love this; I find it very beautiful and romantic while also being somewhat macabre. 

Daniel F- Jurassic Sunset

The title of this image is Jurassic Sunset. I took this picture in my backyard on September 24th, 2023 with my Nikon D7100. I edited this image by saturating and bringing out the bright, vibrant colors of the sunset and added grain to make it look more like it was from an old VHS of Jurassic Park or Walking With Dinosaurs which was my inspiration for the name. I don’t think I could improve this image anymore as it turned out perfectly the first time.

 

Elyssa W - Painted Sky

 I titled this image Painted Sky and it was taken at the Summit on December 26th. I thought this sunset was very pretty but I wish I could have gotten around the post. I didn’t edit this image because I thought the colors were pretty alone and I decided not to crop it because it would take away the color from the sunset.

 This was taken right before the winter break, it was taken in my neighborhood, this was the house of my neighbor. I took it with my phone and didn't edit it. I think it could've been better with a bit of editing and better angle but overall I like how it turned out

Davis C- Deer

The title of my selected image is just simply called “Deer”. This photo was taken on December 18th, 2022 in my backyard this morning. While I was watching TV, I got up and saw the deer and I took the photo with my phone. I could've maybe edited this image better by not having so much contrast or color to it. I think I did too much with the image. I should tone down the contrast and not have that much color to it. 

 

Sophia H- Stairs

The title of the image is “Stairs” and it was taken on New Year's Eve, 2023 after I went to see a movie. It was taken with my phone, I edited it on the MacBook computer and I could have edited it better by maybe making the color less vibrant.

Spencer S- Ferarri f8 Tributo

 It was taken last month at a car show called octane. I took it with my Nikon d40X, I made a super drastic edit. I made a mask of the car and desaturated the background. I had to do a lot of removing. If I were to do anything else, I would add a vignette to darken the corners.

Xander B- Oh Christmas Tree

 The title of this picture is called Oh Christams Tree. I took this picture on December 29th at the Alabama Theatre. I took this photo with my Iphone 13 pro max. I edited this picture by messing around with the colors and hues and cropped it in some so that people could not be seen in the picture. I think this picture could have definitely been better if I had taken it from a different spot in the room. The reason why I chose this picture is because I thought this picture would fit with the christmas theme that we just went through.

Lauren B- Lights

This was taken on my back porch on September 24th 2023. It was taken with my Iphone 14 pro.

I edited this image by darkening the background and making the lights more of a vibrant white rather than yellow-ish, I also got rid of any unnecessary glares in the background.I believe this image could be better if I lightened the fairy lights up just a bit more.

Avery A- Sleeping Bag

 This picture is called Sleeping Bag. It was taken at my job on December 31, 2023 with a PAX pos A920 smart card reader. I didn’t edit it at all. It could be better if it was a clearer shot. Our card readers have really bad cameras but I guess that’s not really what they’re for.

 The title of the image is called Italy. It was taken at a hotel in Italy and the date was June 18th, 2023. It was taken with my phone which is an iPhone 13. I edited it by making it a little lighter. I think it could have been better if I had cropped out some of the bottom of the image so it was not as long.
